I just really hate how overly anime, flashy and hyper-mobile the series has gotten. What pulled me in from the start was that slow and methodical gameplay. Now, you can barely tell just what the flying frick is going on and the monsters are just bully victims now.

honestly it never was a big deal, most veterans steamroll to G-Rank with like 3 sets in any game. Status effect and elemental was negligible, except World,
but World made it really obtrusive/broken sometimes

You never had to do this in the older games if you were actually good at them outside of maybe endgame.
Raw isn't even meta in Sunbreak for most of the weapons in the game so you're also letting everyone know you don't play the game to begin with.

Now if you want a real complaint, Rise basically drained any residual fluid of "hunting" straight out of the franchise and you just immediately find them and kill them on the spot, which really makes the monsters feel like just bosses rather than the real most dangerous game like it felt like in 2

I disagree about lacking good mid to late game monsters, it has plenty of good fights, but like you mentioned it bring back a lot of bad fights like gypceros, Cephadrome, Uragaan and etc.
Its the same problema that 4U had, where a lot of gen 1 shitmons got added because they weren in 3rd gen, this is why I think 3U and Sunbreak so far have better roster than the other games since they avoided bringing back a lot of the bad fights and the end result is that very few fights from both games are below average

They just once again insisted on making the "End Game" content an annoying long grind for small upgrades. Fighting the same monster over and over again but with increases to HP/damage. They've done this since, what 4? I've never liked it. I've never enjoyed it. Hypers/Alphas/ what the frick ever have always been pointless padding to appeal to the gays that screech about "not having anything to do" after putting in over 100 hours in to the classic games to just actually finish the game, as in hunt Fatalis/Altakah/Akantor/Ukanlos and get their gear. Everything else about the game I'm fine with. Well I wish the Switch was not a shitty 2015 tablet so the game looks as good a world/IB but eh.
Rise on the other hand was a disappointment. It really did feel like it was released half finished and the ending had to be patched in. Rampages were a neat idea and I do want some of the mechanics brought back for Siege hunts like Lao. As they are om game though, once you do them a few times, the novelty is gone. They are just busy work until the Alpha/Boss showed up.
