Pokken is the most traditional fighting game that's (functionally) done by nintendo, it's just poorly marketed so people think it''s an arena fighter even though i't really a traditional 2d fighter with unique per character movelists, cancels, just-frames, attack height, etc

Pokken DX is excellent but it's from the Tekken team and anything Pokemon goes through The Pokemon Company and/or GameFreak so it's barely Nintendo-made.

In terms of actual development, yes, but in practice nintendo has majority IP ownership over Pokemon and it's exclusively on Nintendo consoles
How about we take a break from Kirby for a year or two. It used to feel like a treat getting a new Kirby game especially during the N64/GC/GBA years but now a new Kirby is as exciting as a new Pokemon mobile game.
The next mainline will 100% be a 3D game again after how well FL did, but I’m interested to see if it’ll tie to FL or be a standalone.
There are rumors that we’re getting something in the style of rainbow curse
I hope they meant art style, I didn’t like either curse game that much.
It only came out last year. Give them a break. Jesus. Now I know why sakurai hated working at Hal.
That anon was probably just wondering, I highly doubt if there’s Kirby news this direct it’ll be a mainline, a remaster or spin-off seems more likely. Next mainline probably won’t come until 2025.
Forgotten Land felt like the first Mario or Zelda tier Kirby game, so I would like to see another. Who knew putting NPCs and a hub in your series could make it feel alive.

you kirby fans are so spoiled, you get 20,000 gtames a year. and pikmin too, you got an entrie four fucking games + DLC in the time it took DKC to get only TWO new games. God fuck this gay earth!!!!!!!
Hal are the ones who make them so the only other franchise they would make would probably be boxboy or part time ufo. Also, the team behind rainbow curse and battle royale hasn’t done anything since battle royale.
After FL and RtDL DX I think we won't see much for a little while, they even put out a spinoff in-between them. We could see another spinoff not made by HAL in the meantime. Unless most of FL's dev time was getting 3D to work I don't know if we'll see a brand new main entry every 2 years like we did during the 2010s.
I'm STILL pissed we never got a remake of Kirby 64 on 3DS since the GBA and DS both got remakes of "main" kirby console games. >GBA

Super Star Remake >3DS Crustal Shards Remake >Switch >RTDL Remake
Yeah, seems like a big missed opportunity, n64 remakes were already commonplace for the 3ds and crystal shards’ 3d environments would’ve been a great way to show off the 3d. Could’ve possibly even added in some cut stuff like the animal friends and playable dedede, ado, and waddle cee
Dude PLEASE NO, even as a Kirby fan I'm still playing through both forbidden lands and return deluxe, look I like Kirby too but give him a break. I'm just hoping we get another 2D Donkey Kong Country style game, to kinda complete the returns trilogy as it were.

Yeah, I wouldn’t, I’ve just heard a rumor that the team behind rainbow curse and battle royale haven’t made anything since, well, battle royale, and that 2024 will be the 10th anniversary of triple deluxe, which itself was a game that celebrated the 10th anniversary of amazing mirror, making it also the 20th anniversary of amazing mirror

whats next bros? I'm thinking either horror(but in a transylvania sense) or a toku/kaiju theme like Utlraman, I think it would suit kirby and merge mouthfuls and mecha gimmick with giant modes plus it can carry over the Waddle Dee Town style hubworld with "WaddleDeetropolis" or something
Dinosaur space pirates are descendants of dinosaurs who fled Earth before the K-T mass extinction event. Though they settled in a new home world they still need to raid other planets for rare energy sources and minerals. Pop Star just happens to be on their list.

I always thought another attempt at the subgame formula but with each sub game being based on a different horror story would be cool, kind of like a kirby treehouse of horror game.
Another idea I had was something like this >halloween night on pop star, a witch from another dimension drops in and makes everything all spooky as well as kidnaps bandana dee, forcing kirby to give chase >first half of the game takes place on popstar, second half takes place in the witch’s home dimension >main game is either having kirby become a monster kirby or having monster animal friends, either way, you’ll be able to use abilities in conjunction with the monster gimmick >costumes will also be a thing and work similar to forgotten land’s upgrades, though most aren’t straight upgrade and are more there to give more options to your playstyle, liking making an attack faster but less powerful or making an attack home in but gutting its power and speed in the process
and world bosses are >nighttime nature (creepy woods) >invaded island (ufm/unidentified flying mole) >grand grounds (roller reaper) >horror town (original frankenstein boss) >mysterious alps (original vampire boss) >risky end (monster bandana dee/witch/nightmare) >extra mode (zombie/ex versions of the previous bosses/clone monster bandana dee/squashini/monster taranza/morpho knight) >true arena (nightterror)
Forgotten Land is still pretty fresh, so I ain't expecting the next big Kirby this soon. But I wouldn't say no to another spin-off, Kirby tends to have some fun ones. As long as they keep working diligently, I have faith in HAL. Especially if they're working on more kinds of abilities to bring into 3D next time, like Suplex. Damn it, that's like my dream Kirby title. Don't get my hopes up like that.
They already dip into horror at the end of a lot of the games. Forgotten Land straight up went Resident Evil. Just make it cutesy spooks for most of the game and transition to actual monstrosities like they always do. And bring back Ghost.

Zero chance the next mainline is 2D. Nintendo saw how much money FL brought in, next mainline is guaranteed to be 3D.
I could see them going a bit more open with the next mainline game, but I doubt it’ll be fully open world. Maybe the game after that. FL was in development for I believe 6 years, they probably want to keep a similar formula for at least another game before jumping into the next thing.

Nobody feels like nintendo hates the franchise, far from it, I just never turn down more kirby
Kirby gets about one game a year, even if it's only something new/big every 3 years or so. We'll probably get something for early next year.
Hope you’re right
We’ll see, but if there’s an announcement it’s likely going to be a remaster or a spin-off.
