>It barely changes aesthetically as it evolves and thus solves the Raichu problem of being able to evolve while staying recognizable, cute, and marketable
>The only Pikaclone to have a full evolutionary line
>One of the first Pokemon introduced when SC/VL was first revealed
>It's a unique typing that's a first for the series: Electric/Fighting
>It's signature move revives a KO'd Pokemon and can be potentially very cinematic in an animated setting
>Unlike Pikachu who has garbage stats in-game and needs Light Ball as a crutch to be remotely viable due to it initially being designed as the first stage of a stronger mon, Pawmot's stats are considerably more well rounded even though he can be considered a glass cannon
>The final evo itself even has anime protag hair

People talk about Meowscarda being the shillmon due to it having Protean or it's signature move being ridiculous, but you're looking at the true shillmon this gen right here

it's a bit odd tho because everyone will just remember Pawmot if it evolves fully within the season. so Pawmo is even more redundant.

You forget that Azurill didn't exist til gen 3 when the rest of the line came the gen before, Pawmi was introduced with the full line. Not even agreeing with OP, just adding to the point.

Revival Blessing doesn't work for anime battles
They could put them in Pokemon centers or have some character of the day use one to bail out Pikachu

They’d be killing the anime if they fully evolved it. Pawmi and Pawmo are cute and marketable. Pawmot is an abomination.

    I can see it now
    >Pawmi and the protag start off on rough terms to mirror Ash and Pikachu's rocky relationship at first
    >this continues into Pawmo, even if they don't outright argue they still butt heads on many things
    >The protag and Pawmo learn to fully understand each other at some point past the middle of the season, cue them running alongside each other (get it it's both figurative and literal and also fulfils the 1000 steps evo condition) and Pawmo evolves into Pawmot

It's evo condition requiring you to literally travel with it like an actual shouldermon is the real sign that it's going to have some part to play in whatever anime comes next

Let's see, the countless times since gen 4 that /vp/ said he'd be retired?
            >Gen 4 starts with Dawn antics, then Ash showed up and it focused on him.
            >Gen 5, /vp/ screams it's reboot time, Ash still was there.
            >Gen 6, has Serena and four other rivals, meaning Ash won't show up. Ash still showed
            up.
            >Gen 7, in the Demo, Ash mails his Geninja to Alola, hinting he won't make it there. He then went to Alola.
            >Gen 8, he's finally getting retired! He won the Alola League! He's the Master now! He went to Galar.
Be sure to tune in for Ash's journey through Paldea.

The saddest part is that this time, THIS time is truly the absolute perfect place to leave Ash

The entire Journeys series was about revisiting the old regions, reuniting with his old friends, his old Pokémon, getting a team together of cross-regional mons and utilizing every battle gimmick that's come up until this point, and even if only for a moment we got to see the released Pokémon like Butterfree and Pidgeot again.

And he won on the biggest stage possible in-universe. Alola's victory although nice, felt more like a half-hearted apology for Kalos after the huge blowback they got from it. Alola was a wacky slice of life series and the whole league run felt tacked on at the very end because it just HAD to be there; also the table was tilted in his favor with both an Ultra Beast and Melmetal at his side. This time Ash actually worked his way up and honed his team, fought through the big hitters, and won.

This is the actual best place to close out Ash's story and start clean with something and someone new.

But we all know that won't happen

            >ASH IS GETTING RETIRED
It'd be announced by now if he was.
            >THE ANIME IS ENDING
It'd be announced by now if it was.
            >THERE'S NO PLACE FOR HIM TO GO NOW, HE'S WORLD CHAMP
            He can go to Paldea.
            >WE'RE FINALLY GOING TO HAVE A NEW PROTAGONIST
You've been saying that since gen 4.
            >JUST TRUST ME OK!?
            Nah. See you in Paldea.

It's pretty marketable... seeing it in anime motion might increase the likability.
