If I don't care about plot or characters or powers, and I just like taffin around interesting levels, is this worth a playthrough?
I know everyone hates it but I assume that's more from Harvey Smith's sjw writing than the levels, right?

I see an ugly fucking moron on the cover I don't play it. Simple as.
Came here to say this. What were they thinking with this Israel looking ass bitch? Gtfo my library forever
>is this worth a playthrough?
the bank heist is okay, the rest isn't.
Lots of reviews say the levels are as good as the prior games though. Why aren't they good?
>Yes but you really should play the other Dishonored games, including Dishonored 2
Have already, that's why I'm asking. I even
paid for them
Better than Deathloop, worse than Dis 2.
That can't be right since Deathloop is better than Dishonered 2 and worse than Dishonered 1.
>Deathloop is better than Dishonered 2
LMAO
Not that anon but Deathloop is very easily better
Yes, it's good
Dishonered 2 has better stages, but Deathloop has better moment to moment gameplay and a much better cast and setting than 2.
Absolutely not. DEATHLOOP is a watered-down bastardization of Prey and feels disappointing in every aspect, its only redeeming factor is that it takes place in Dishonored's universe.
>its [Deathloop] only redeeming factor is that it takes place in Dishonored's universe.
wot?
Look it up, it takes place 110 years after the death of the outsider
If anything that makes me hate Deathloop more, i have thought a couple times that a Dishonored game that takes place many years after the games we got could be very cool (albeit not that doable since the Outsider was killed) but they couldn't even do that it seems.
They need to go back in time to the War of the Four Crowns, Morley Insurrection and Famine, or the Great Burning.
Sure, the bank level is great but the rest not so much. Not caring about the story, characters and lore will probably make it a bit better.
I liked Deathloop but no way is it better than Dishonored 1 and 2. Maybe DotO at best.
I don’t know why everyone is malding, it’s not standard Dishonored, but it’s a good game just the same, the Outsider lore is the most disappointing thing about it.
I’d love them to use talisman-centric gameplay for Dishonored 3: From Tyvia with Love, but, giving the state of Arkane - oh well.
this DLC made me hate the rest of the games retroactively
then they replaced his voice actor with a shittier one
It is. Last levels get weird, worth checking out.
I haven't played it yet personally as i want to finish 2 first but i am interested in the gameplay mechanics since the power system seems to be quite different for Billy than the others.
for some reason blacks sell less
When the third or fourth installment features a black female protagonist it should be clear that they ran out of good ideas and are just cheaply increasing market share. They are just squeezing a couple cents out of the remaining market after the base demographic of whiteboi incels move on to the next trendy thing.
Play the first because its good. The second improved on a couple things. Then they gave up and just pasted a strong black female into the protagonost role to sell a few more units. Same shit happened with uncharted, gta, far cry, spiderman, etc.
Always funny when a nigcel projects. Don’t you have some assaulting to do?
There is no actual SJW writing in this game, there are never any moments wherein Lurk or any character says anything remotely pozzed, I cannot find any examples of overt leftist propaganda in this game and I've finished it 5 times. It's actually a really good stealth game with good visuals and a short but solid story. Some of the best environment art and aesthetics in vidya, good writing and character design, animation, setting and worldbuilding. The Bank Job and One Last Fight have a lovely nighttime ambiance that captures that feeling of warm Mediterranean nights pretty well. There are a few powers and weapons but they're well fleshed out and all serve a purpose. The game never shoves its morality down your throat, unlike the other games in the series. It costs pennies and can be easily pirated. Genuinely a good game but because of the cover art, people refused to buy it, which is a shame because it is a hidden game through and through. Arkane's best game in years and their last good game before the company plummeted into mediocrity.
>Arkane's best game in years
Not exactly that many games to compete with, in the last 11 years they have made Dishonored, Dishonored 2, Prey, Death of the Outsider, and shit, in that order.
It's painful that some of the best art direction, writing and worldbuilding in all of vidya is left to a company too retarded to just slap together a remake of Dishonored 1, make millions and then fund spin-offs, expansions, and sequels set in their brilliantly designed universe and make instant money off nostalgia alone. Ganker would bitch and moan but a D1 remake would sell well on name recognition alone. instead we have redflop
BTFO'd 4chantards who never touched the game with facts and logic (although I disagree on Deathloop being mediocre).
>interesting levels
half of the levels are recicled from dishonored 2
>If I don't care about plot or characters or powers, and I just like taffin around interesting levels, is this worth a playthrough?
Yes but you really should play the other Dishonored games, including Dishonored 2 and the DLCs. Caring about the characters and knowing the setting plus getting context for Lurk's quest will make the ending hit much harder emotionally and make the experience more enjoyable. The whole set of games is easily pirated and can be bought cheap.
>I know everyone hates it but I assume that's more from Harvey Smith's sjw writing than the levels, right?
It's just Gankeriggers being racist as per usual, they see the cover and assume pozzed but it's not pozzed at all, Lurk is a very likeable protagonist and there are no overt leftist messages besides "rich people bad".
I liked it. Bank heist was sweet and the removal of the chaos system assuaged my no kill autism.
Do it your way, no NPC bitching and no bad ending.
Powers were interesting but had less up front strength.
>no kill autism
You could have overcome that on your own retard. Get a little willpower for fucks sake and learn to play different kinds of games the way they're meant to be played.
It shoves the "story"in your face harder than the other entries in the series and it has worse levels and fewer powers.
>>It shoves the "story"in your face harder than the other entries in the series
Why go on the internet just to tell lies? Your other points are subjective but I don't know how you got this out of it. It has less story than 1 or 2 by far.
Yes, DotO is a great game. When most people are just crying about the way the main character looks, you know it's a fine game
Most people are crying that they KILLED ALL THE FUCKING BLACK MAGIC!!!!!!!!! How is that not something to be mad about? Also reedit tier "hekkin eldritch ent-titties!!". That shit doesn't really mess up the gameplay especially since it's mostly only in the last mission but it still REALLY sucks.
