while it is funny it shouldnt be very surprising that those "journalists" play on easy mode to make quick progress and rush through the game
their review would be worthless for them if it was released only 2 weeks after the game came out, or likely even not on release day alot of them are probably shit at games aswell
Do you happen to know what game it was where a journo cried about how short it is, then he got comments that the second part of the game only starts on normal or higher?
bingo
just follow the formula >beginning is easy >middle is medium >end is hard >optional areas can range from brain dead but fun to frustrating and challenging .
>No difficulty settings >Only cheat codes that make the game easier or harder like infinite HP or one hit kill
But I can't imagine how badly the games would break when they can't even run properly without cheats
someone probably called him out, but what difference do you think it'd make?
Its not like he'll stop being a hypocrite about stuff like that or that his employer is going to care
I will cheat, glitch or otherwise sploit my way through games without a second thought if I feel like the game isn't playing fair in an otherwise fun game. There's nothing to be gained by humoring some lunatic's bullshit designed for e-celeb clips and rage bait.
Reminds of the time someone reviewed Alien Resurrection on PS1 and complained about the controls.
It was the exact same FPS controls console shooters have been using since Halo 1.
Gaming journalism has always been a joke there's always this one topic they keep hammering on about
Let's see around
1995-1997 they develop somekind of autstic hate boner against 2D games
20000- 2005 hate boner against games with color, because that's "kiddie" shit
2005-2009 hate boner against Japanese games
Etc etc you fill in the blanks.
>Easy mode
The worse way to play a game and you just cheat yourself of the experience. >but its hard
That level of difficulty is there so you actually get good at the mechanics. Easy mode is like taking a gondola up mount everest. The point was the climb not the peak.
A review isn’t journalism so I don’t know why you guys bitch about it. No shit the dumbfuck that had to review 20 games this month plays on easy, they don’t have enough time to nolife every game they need to play
are you defend gaming journalists gay ? that's their fucking job, to play X game, review it and write shitty articles about it, they have 8 hours per day for that, that's 160 hours per month, look at the fag who reviewd Starfield on Gamespot, he made only 2 gaming reviews on 2 months
I don't even know where to start with this gay >that gay ass profile description >they let the weaboo rpg nerd review FF16 like that isn't unbelievably biased >they also let the weaboo rpg nerd review a western space simulator??? >Is Nier an RPG? Never played it but didn't look like one to me >Forza is a live service game and here's why that's GREAT!!! >GOOD MORNING SIRS I AM THE TECH EXPERT HERE TOO PLS REDEEM
>2000s gaming journalism is just that. Reporting on the state of the industry, giving full reviews/previews, and interviews with hard hitting questions or light natured fun >Suddenly now it's all about reporting on which game has the most diversity or sexism, barely completing games on easy mode and writing reviews criticizing it, and most interviews are full of political schlock "So Miyamoto-San, before we begin I'd like to ask you on your opinion of TERFs-"

maybe thats the solution, to make a game with dificulty modes but they are like this:
Normail mode is what the devs intended the game to be
hard mode adds some challenge for seasones players
and then you get easy mode, its thje only easy mode in the menu, fuck having easy and super easy, you get that or you play normal
the thing is, that easy mode makes the game so easy that it is insulting, everything dies in one touch, there are constant reminders of where you need to go, if you leave the controller alone, the game starts playing itself, if there are armors or weapons every single one gives you max stats without adding any negatives like encumbering, so there is no point on getting shit, if there is a rate system, you get max rate without even trying, like getting permanent SSS style after the first hit on an enemy and it never goes down no matter what
you wanted easy? here is easy, if you want the game to be even a little bit fun, you can start a new game in normal mode

There has NEVER been an ethical standard in gaming journalism. The entire industry relies on handouts, at best, and just operates as a branch of marketing, at worst.
There's barely ever been an ethical standard in journalism as a whole. Why would a subset, that deals entirely with an entertainment medium, have any need for ethics beyond superficial reasons?
The last time gaming journalists tried to report on something deeper than "9.5/10, GOTY material" they got roasted by publishers as well as end users. There's no incentive to lend credence to the quality of their work. >sauce

Here
these gay game journalists will never change
Devs shouldn't do them and just tailor the difficulty to what they want users to experience.
difficulty settings shouldn't even exist, just design your game how it's supposed to be.

Game journalism is about watching a 3d model run around for 15 minutes and the write a Review based on other reviews you looked up on the internet

Yet when you criticize one of them, all of them jump to defend. Curious!
also the dev is pathetic and he defended the journalist and shit on the people supporting his game
