Nintendo is projected to do so by 2028-2033, starting with older titles, and it will be an astronomical boon for them.

Help but it's unlikely since they still haven't done so on mobile yet and have basically pulled out of that marketplace with no new games having been announced since Pikmin mobile.

It could decrease sales, it could increase sales, but it's permanent once they do it.
So they take the safe bet and don't.

It wouldn't harm the brand unless the ports were complete dogshit. As for software sales there's nowhere to go but up when you're selling to a completely new userbase. The only thing it could hurt is console sales and that's wholly dependent on whether or not the console has a gimmick or not. If say their current console was like the Gamecube in that there isn't any extra appeal to the console itself then yes it could drive down sales of the console. The Switch however has it's portability and that is enough to persuade people to buy it.

That would've been the case, but we now have the Steam Deck too. I feel it's not a wise decision, unless they want to drop the switch altogether.

        >we now have the Steam Deck too

there are flaws with the deck like, 90% of the planet cant buy one.

so dont expect mass sales for obvious reasons

More software sales but less hardware sales

Sales would definitely increase, but they wouldn't go on Steam. You're naive if you think that would be the case. The only way Nintendo games go on PC is through a Nintendo For PC launcher that's gonna be a pain in the ass to use for 5 years and then they come out with a new one and all your purchases don't transfer

I live in Belgium, but lived in London. I've seen maybe 2 Switch in public in my life. I take adult trains though.

I went there for work. Lemme tell you, I've never met a more Black personed country than England. Not just London, but the entirety of it is infested to a degree I'd never seen in my life. London is the worst, but the North of England may as well be Muslim Paris instead of Black Paris.

Where the absolute frick do you live? My last 2 years in uni were in 18-19 and I barely saw a Switch in public compared to phones and it was an open campus.

It's really stupid that they don't offer their older games on PC. Imagine how many people pirate their old games simply because they can't access them on their laptop or desktop any other way. If they're worried about reducing the value of their brand, you would think they'd be even more worried that people are paying NOTHING to play these games right now.
