if you could only be stuck with one control scheme for the rest of your life, would you pick a gamepad or KBM?

Controller anyone that says Mouse and keyboard doesn't actually play games.
I can't play half modern games with gamepad, but I can't play the other half with kbm. So I own both, like an adult.
That wasn't the question.
Everyone owns both, you aren't special or something.
gamepad easily
>having to use pc without mouse and keyboard
You have to be mentally retarded to pick gamepad
There is no good video game that is better with a kbm
>my heckin dead moronclicker 800 apm
>my heckin moba that I hate playing but have an addiction to
>my heckin grand strategy that isn't strategy but just pattern recognition from playing the game for 5k hours also I'm trans btw
>my heckin call of duty where I'm now outclassed by controller users and I complain and piss and shit my pants calling them cheaters when I used to be smug telling them I was better than them
Good bait post
i have tennis elbow so controller
Definitely controller, you can at least have gyro with a controller and it's more comfortable, doesn't lock you out of handhelds either.
Controller, id customise jt with extra buttons and triggers and have gyro
Being that I need my computer to pay the bills, keyboard and mouse. But I still use my controller for everything gaming related; I don't really care for playing keyboard and mouse games.
Mouse and throttle.
>Twin-stick? bro, I got quad-stick.
Controller witch keyboard with gyro aim to compensate for shitty stick aiming.
KB+M might not be ideal for some games but there are genres that are pretty much unplayable with controllers.
You might think this is bait but I truly believe any genre that can’t be played with a controller is a genre that shouldn’t exist in the first place
controllers killed the rts genre
Good, it was a piss poor attempt of a video game genre anyways.
durrr fucking control many units when you only has two hands and one brain so you are at free will to the path finder or just brainlessly mash 2-3 keys
And I believe that every gamepad enabler should be removed from games.
Gamepads are THE cancer of the industry.
And genres that are associated with gamepad, you know, "some genres are better on the controller" either associated wrongly, or they are just plain moronic shit.
Keyboard and Mouse, especially given how current controllers are. There's a lot more variety you can get out of KB+M, and the only thing that controllers can really do different are full 360 rotation with two independent sticks. I can live with just 8-way movement in most cases, and will survive without the few games where that doesn't work.
If the controllers weren't just PS1 dualshocks getting revised for the 20th time, then maybe there would've been a competition.
Controller
Multiple controllers already demonstrated that there are ways to surpass the advantages that are brought by KBM.
Wiimote and its derivatives demonstrated that one can have access to the same range of motion provided by a mouse for the purpose of cursor control and that split controllers offer more ergonomic advantages and versatility.
Steam controller demonstrated that one can have the same kind of input versatility provided by a keyboard.
Both of have been pushed to the side and buried by the industry because they betray the paradigm of cover based shooters and Xinput that demand heavily filtered dual stick input.
If you want to have a good controller your best solution now is to nigrig your own because the industry does not want you to have one and will continue to charge you more and more for necessary features on a controller that has not changed in 16 years.
>surpass
Surpass? More like "not quite make it"
This really has more to do with the intense babyducking going on with mouselook and Xinput. Both prevent competing control schemes from emerging by forcing people to awkwardly mess with stick and mouse inputs when devs don't outright force you to choose on or the other.
The only advantage of a gamepad is for splitscreen which doesn't even exist in modern games
mkb, where the keyboard has analog keys or something
kbm easily, I played with it most of my life and never had problems even with action games
hell I finished all assassins creed and batman games with kbm with no issues
just bought a controller recently because modern devs are retards who dont even consider real kbm support
also try playing a strategy game with a controller
youd want to kys after 5 minutes
>dualsense edge in stock at store last night
>was going to to get it now
>doublecheck online
>out of stock
WHY THE FUCK IS PS5 SHIT NEVER IN STOCK? IS THE NO GAMES MEME BLEEDING INTO HARDWARE TOO?
Controller, no question.
my steam 2022 replay says i played 80% of games with mouse and keyboard, controller is rarely a better option
Neither.
>M+KB
Sucks for rotating and moving in multiple directions at specified rates continously.
Mouse sucks for continously rotating in one direction you run out of pad space and is the only device with axes, keyboards only offer digital inputs that you would need to bind to virtual axes.
Keyboards and Mice haven't changed much since time immortal.
>Gamepad
Thumbsticks fucking suck for making small precise adjustments that a mouse can do easily however offers multiple axes these days.
Gamepads also do not evolve quickly even though there is room for improvement but at least they see some improvements even if once a decade.
The number of inputs is pitifully lower than Keyboard.
Hello, Medication Man here just checking up if you're taking your meds. Oh dear, it looks like you leaped off the wagon head first into cow manure and are experiencing a schizoid embolism over people having fun with video games. I think a double shot of copium is needed here and definitely a shower. And don't forget to take your meds!
>You vill take ze meds and you vill be happy
Never
I'm not getting lobotomized, I am a free mind
I'm disgusted by amount of gamepad morons ITT.
KBM because my favorite games are better on KBM and I'm used to it, but I'd strongly consider pad if I could get a steam controller on par with the steam deck
Mouse and keyboard is universal. Controller is for specific games.
