Fuck no.
I sold mine a few days ago.
Yes it's the best couch gaming device ever made I also have PC though
game pass is great value
especially if you get the series S version
however just get a pc if you can afford it
>series S
You're the reason xbox is not getting many games.
I'm holding off if/when xbox releases an updated slim model like what they did with the 360 and xbone
If I didn't own a PC i'd probably own an xbawks instead. $400+gamepass to play a shitload of games? Sure why not
$400?
>Do you have a good PC?
No
>Do you NOT have a good PC?
Yes
It's not that difficult
Microsoft doesn't give a fuck so if you purchase dev mode access you can install emulators and watch all the pirated shows/movies you want on it. If it had a decent 4K player on it for once it would be a 10/10 media box that plays games.
You don't need dev mode to install retroarch
>neither console supports dolby vision or HDR10+ for UHD BDs
>xbox supports dolby vision for games and streaming apps but not UHD BDs
what's so fucking hard here? do the corpos want me to buy a standalone player that bad?
i'd be interested in hearing if xbox consoles can output 1440p while watching UHD BDs because PS5 unfortunately cannot.
hdr is a meme anyway, turn that shit off
dolby makes you pay a license for disc support, it's why so few players actually support it.
You can emulate on retail mode, no dev mode needed.
Been playing Wind Waker for the last 2 weeks on mine.
If you're a goyslopper then gamepass would be perfect for you. I prefer to be more particular about my games and time, so gamepass is utterly useless to me. For children too the Xbox would be a decent choice. Get gamepass and hopefully they won't bother you about buying games again.
Shut up, Steam whore.
I mean, gaming on PC sucks dick for everything that’s not RTS, MOBA, or FPS. If you only play those just get a PC. If you don’t then get an Xbox or PS5.
>gaming on PC sucks dick for everything that’s not RTS, MOBA, or FPS.
On the contrary.
It is THE god-tier gaming device to rule them all.
Especially this day and age, PC provides superior ease-of usage, better pricing, and obviously the most overall freedom, best visuals and best performance. You can also use ANY controller device ever created, as many screens as you can fit onto your desk, and fix / upgrade software and hardware as you please.
I've gamed on PCs since 2003, and I don't play strategy nor MOBA shit. FPS I touch from time to time, but not as much as most console kids who only play CoD, Halo or Fortnite anyway.
I honestly can’t tell if you fags are serious sometimes
>ease-of usage
I had Black Ops Cold War zombies crash on me two times during round twenty yesterday.
Actually implying that PC isn't the most unstable platform by a long shot shows your ignorance.
PC gaming is dead enjoy your hackers
>gaming on PC sucks dick for everything that’s not RTS, MOBA, or FPS
why?
>I mean, gaming on PC sucks dick for everything that’s not RTS, MOBA, or FPS.
No.
There's never been any reason to own ANY Xbox.
Hell, I collect vidya and gaming devices, and I don't own a single Microsoft console.
I gave up PC gaming years ago, and decided to go with the Series X. I love it. A feature that is awesome is the quick resume. You can start up the console and be exactly where you left off in a game within 10 seconds
>You can start up the console and be exactly where you left off in a game within 10 seconds
And you think that's not doable on PCs?
I seriously do not get what kind of shill-fag subhumans would fall for the ultimate scam that are the consoles, in the year 2010 + 13. I already regretted falling for Piss4 and Switch, partially against my own will, but I will not make that mistake again.
I'm sorry but you literally cant cold boot up a pc, open game launchers, and have the game boot up, click load game and have the game load in 10 seconds
>cold boot
I though quick resume only works when turning on the console from sleep mode?
You can play a game, close the game, other games (plural) and still pick up from where you left off.
I hadn't played kingdom hearts in months but had it pinned to my quick resume. When I booted it I was right there in Triton's palace right away.
I promise you that you literally, in the literal sense of the word, shut down your PC, turn it on, launch a game and be exactly where you closed off, months after doing so.
The only people who downplay quick resume are Snoys or people who've never used it. It's a venn diagram of two circles one atop the other.
ok but what is the point of doing that
i'm using the ds edge on pc and it's pretty comfy
xbox has shitty dpad and no gyro so ur fucked if you emulate wii or switch
Yes.
>backwards compatibility with a bunch of games that aren’t available on any other modern console or even pc
>a lot of those BC games have higher resolutions and framerate than their original release
>much faster load times compared to 8th gen consoles
>MS is finally starting to pump out first party games
>game pass with a ton of games to play if you sub to it
It’s my favorite console of all time personally
The only reason to own one is to play the exclusives coming out for it, but if you have a PC that's a moot point because PC plays those and every Switch exclusive and some of the Playstation exclusives.
Unless you're allergic to PCs and are doing Switch+SeX+PS5 to cover all your bases, there is no reason to own one because the PS5 and Switch have more exclusives and the PS5 gets all the same multiplats and runs them better most of the time.
fuck yes
loads xbone games super fast
PC has no games and emulation is PCOPE
it has a lot of games that take years to come to console, if they ever come out. Xbox has literally no exclusives
It has Bethesda and Obsidian that's about 50% of the WRPG developers, Sony has zero WRPG developers it's all movie games.
they're coming day one on PC. Also ES6 will never happen, and if it happens it'll be GaaS. They announced Starfield like a decade ago
TES6 is starting development after Starfield in September it's happening
yes, and Contraband, Scalebound, Fable, etc are happening too. Starfield itself has been delayed who knows how many times
TES6 is at least 6 years away.
the UI is terrible but gamepass is actually great if you want to play a lot of different games without buying them.
Only if you really need to play Retro Replay
>is it worth owning an Xbox Series X?
As a SeX and OLED C1 owner, I think it's a fantastic console. However if you have a monster PC or a PS5 already, I don't see the point of buying one
Best console on the market. All the grunt of a high-end PC + GamePass.
Xchads fuck hot bitches and play games.
Looked better in the first outfit.
it will become worth owning when hackers find how to install linux on it
until then, it's a green ps5
It has Hi-Fi Rush which is the best current gen exclusive. But games are optimized primarily for PS5, so...
Pick your poison, PS5 is the safer choice, but Xbox is a blockbuster in a box.
consoles are gay
It helped me upgrade and play games during the bitcoin degeneracy, I am now brand loyal
The Series S is basically a gaming PC for $250 (at least when I bought it) and if you add game pass to that, well, it's great. However I plan on building a PC next year when I get an actual job
Dualsense +Xsex is the best video setup
Not to be mean, but that's the most idiotic setup you can get. Assuming it's not a PS5 bundled with GoW or anything, you spend $500 + tax as well as another $500 + plus tax when you could have gotten a PC for that price and have had more functionality and games. 98% of the games are on both PS5 and Series X too so what's the point of getting both at all?
You really should have just gotten a PC instead.
oh boy he could have got a PC with a 3050, which is barely better than a card from 6 years ago. And a 10 year old CPU. And maybe some DDR2 ram! Stop feeding people this shit that they can build great PC's for under several grand. Those days are gone. Only way you are doing that is if you spread your purchases over a year or more, constantly part shopping for mega-sales. You aren't building some great PC for a grand. You're building a potato.
You have to be really bad at building/picking parts to spend what you wont on a PS5 and Series X and still get "a potato" but have fun with your console (toy). It's not my money going to waste.
1000 bucks is more than enough for a 6700 XT, 5600X, 16 gigs of RAM and a 1TB SSD
You know you can buy the controller by itself, right?
I only bought the controller to use on Xbox loser
>I only bought the worst controller on the market
ok broomer
Based and same anon! Is there a way I can map the buttons on the dualsense with the Xbrook Wing Adapter?
i own two xbox series x, one ps5, and a switch.
switch mostly sits these days, need to play a few games, especially the new zelda when it comes out.
ps5 has been a genshin impact machine and not much else, ratchet and clank rift apart was fantastic while it lasted.
xbox series x has been my go-to for most games i play and xbox on twitch is awesome they give out free copies of games constantly, i got wild hearts from them.
the second xbox series x i bought for my son
old pc
have ps5
still will get xsx for xbox games i missed
If you only kinda want an Xbox get Series S and use it solely for GamePass. Series X isn't worth it.
>Series X isn't worth it
what about storage, perfomance - resolution and fps, ability to use blu ray discs? still not worth?
Not really. Get a PS5 if you need any of that. Series S should be used only for Gamepass and Xbox exclusive games.
That’s depending on whether you value those things. The series X is good for performance but is it the only console you’ll own? Do you need the extra SSD room? Do you own lots of blu ray discs? You have to appraise whether the extra $200 is worth it based on what you want
just buy a ps5.
If you’re gonna own an Xbox you may as well just get a series s, there’s not enough exclusives to justify buying something that expensive.
I love mine, but I barely play it. Take from that what you will.
It's pretty much a $500 gaming PC it's the most powerful console to ever exist
Except that unlike a $500 PC, its locked down and restricted in what you can do with it.
If you want a PC for that price with a 'console' user experience, buy a Steam Deck.
>its locked down and restricted in what you can do with it.
microsoft lets people install software and emulators. gay.
what's wrong with series S?
It has 4 teraflops compared to 12 teraflops for Series X. Larian can't get splitscreen co-op to work on it for BG3. It's more like an upgraded Xbox one X. Series X is a beast that can handle anything.
guess it is good only for older xbox titles
I'd rather have a ps5 even if I didn't have a pc with a 3080
Would be able to play exclusives like rac rift apart at least
you don't need to pay 1500 to run games on a series X. So it has that over it.
>disc game on sale for $20
>digital game permanent at $60/$70
Why would you buy digital only device, it's a scam.
>Ignoring the fact that Transbox is pointless, is it worth it owning a Transbox?
No.
>trans chud trans. Oh my god I am so obsessed that I randomly replace parts of words with 'trans'
Seek help
360 emulation is the drizzling shits
If you like consoles sure? I've got a PC and PS5 and use my PS5 a lot because its a convenient couch gaming box.
I have a decent PC but I still use my Series X a lot.
>Game Pass
>OG/360 games
>Emulators (PS2 and Gamecube run way better on it than on my PC with the new forks)
Guardian Heroes HD is amazing, I can't believe Sega never ported it or most of the other XBLA stuff to PC
Gonna grab one once the LG C2 gets a price drop/I save up enough for it for the same reasons as
Shame JSRF is in licensing hell.
on a discount? I'm guessing yes. anything below RRP would be good.
I got it just for the emulation. Plus bought it for $300 so didn't seem like a bad deal
It’s slightly less gay than the PS5
>small, quieter and cheaper than a PC
>guarantied no shader compilation shuttering
>better HDR, Dolby Atmos implementation
>4k60
>Game Pass
>no cheaters when playing online
>gamepad is GOAT
>can use mouse and keyboard for some games like AoE
>it just works
>4k60
Not in most title. At best you get 1440p60 upscaled to 4k, unless you count some low poly indie game.
Does the Xbox Version of Gamepass offer different games from the PC version? I remember some games being Xbox exclusive but that has been a while ago.
It's a good console for backwards compatibility. The best version of Ninja Garden 2 is exclusive to the Xbox Sex, same with Ace Combat.
Yeah Xbox and PC get different games on Gamespass.
yeah, there's some Game Pass games not on PC and viceversa, to take full advantage of Game Pass, you should also try the games available in the Windows Xbox app, there's some classic bangers in there, cloud is also cool and works on mobile too
Check
gamepasscounter
.com
it's closer to a PC console than a PS5 is, and it's gamepass is a better value than the Sony equivalent, while also being the cheaper console to buy so...yeah? Sony's yet to bring out any true PS5 exclusives that pull me, a big part of that being that I also own a PS4, and Nioh 2 runs just fine on that.
yes because quick resume is incredible
i can have five different games open at the same time
PS5 does it better
lol playstation doesn't have quick resume, you think the japs who made the ps3 know how to make a feature like quick resume?
They know how to make an interface that doesn't give you cancer and aids at the same time.
personally i can never make find what i need on my ps5, i much prefer my xsx
like why the fuck is switch user under power options? makes no goddamn sense
You know what doesn't make sense? Forcing me to go into system settings to switch between the "power off" and "sleep mode" function when pressing the "turn off system" button on the menu.
Now that's fucking retarded.
There are at least 20 other examples of Microsoft clearly never actually using their interface before shitting it out and forcing their users to use it for a decade.
well you shouldnt have any trouble listing them, then
I'll give you two quick ones. Is the sleep mode thing not good enough for you already though?
Going into any "app" and backing out back into the dashboard has a 60% chance of going into a black screen, the way to escape the black screen is going into the dashboard again. Such a bizzare bug that happens so fucking often I am shocked that it actually still happens.
When playing an Xbox 360 game you have to log into a Microsoft account, although you are naturally already signed in at least once on that console, and when you try and do that but have a space in your password, you will have to go on your computer, to your MIcrosoft account and remove said space because the Xbox 360 on screen keyboard doesn't let you put a space in your password.
And by the way, the Xbox 360 games can be played offline without issue but you have to sign in that first time for no reason whatsoever.
My Xbox is the only console that has actually put barriers between me and my games, it's cool now but the first few hours of having the Xbox in my house were a lot more annoying than they needed to be.
the sleep mode things not really a big deal, you do it once and never worry about it again
unlike switching accounts which i have to do every time i use my ps5 because other people use it too
>Going into any "app" and backing out back into the dashboard has a 60% chance of going into a black screen, the way to escape the black screen is going into the dashboard again. Such a bizzare bug that happens so fucking often I am shocked that it actually still happens.
i use my xsx every day and this has never happened to me
that thing about your password sounds like a real pain though, mines never asked me for a password
By the way, on the Playstation you can just turn off "auto sign-in" so the console just asks you what User you want to play as. Might help you out.
>i use my xsx
Maybe it's a Series S thing then? It goes into the dashboard, then does the little app opening animation but then cuts to black in the middle of it.
Obviously I don't press any buttons, it just does it on its own.
>mines never asked me for a password
Fuck me then, it was on Ninja Gaiden 2 maybe it's just for that game or some shit...
i think its because i connected my microsoft account to it before i set it up
ps5 doesnt actually have a quick resume, does it?
sounds like cope, meanwhile the ps5 still sucks shit at vrr and doesn't have a fucking media app at all, nor does it have quick resume and updating times are still a joke
>cope
Cope about what? This isn't a console war, kid. Just speaking my mind on the shitty interface of the Xbox that Microsoft refuses to retire. Are you going to defend the ads on the home screen next?
>media app
What exactly is that? The PS5 has Netflix if that's what you mean.
No quick resume.
ads are fine because they inform of products you might be interested in
When a game boots in like 5 seconds, does that really fucking matter?
I literally own a xsex and its a stupid fucking feature. I swear you dumb morons argue about anything.
I went softmodded PS4 pro for offline + Xbox series s for next gen.
No, ignore the xpajeet shills, just get a PS5. The PS5's ultra fast SSD and dual sense controllers are a generation ahead of the Xbox Series
sirs.... you're the one who sounds like a poo, "ultra fast ssd" meanwhile irl the loading times are within a second of Series X, the dualsense is a complete joke, like a clown controller, stupid lights, touchpad, shitty battery life, the switch pro is much better than it, not to mention the best one, the series controller
The advertising on the pajeetbox home screen is an absolute joke. I don't think there should be adverts if you're paying for a subscription.
>get it for the Dualsense controller!
you mean the piece of shit that doesn't utilize it's features and has a battery life of 9 hours?
The fact that the PS5 controller is superior to SEX controller is made clear by how many PC fags are using it even though it has no official support in 90% of games and works only thanks to Valve and the ds4windows dude.
lol no, the only reason you see people talk about the PS5 controller on PC is because it's not supported like you said, Series controller is plug and play, just look at battlestations pictures, everyone has one on their desk
It has a shittier UI and exclusives compared to a PS5, but it makes up for it by just being more useful. Being able to install emulators and open source software make it the best console/movie box by default. And gamepass is a great value. Personally, its not for me but I'd say go for it if you're on the fence.
If you are a poorfag like me. Yes
Since the Forza games are on PC now hell no don't buy one unless you can't afford a decent PC
No. Games run the same or better on PS5 despite it being weaker on paper and Xbox has no console exclusives.
Unless you want to play Forza, there's no point in buying XSX unless you also really want to play Halo and Starfield and PC is not an option.
you can put physical discs of 360 and One and are added instantly to your digital library. 360/one Games in ebay cost pennies.
>Ignoring the fact that all games are on PC
You are ignoring the fact you need the crappy Windows Store app for purchase and manage games but cant mapping buttons in your xbox controller (because Win Store only accept inputs of Xbox controllers)
The games are on pc meme doesn't work when play anywhere is a thing
>Ignoring the reason you shouldn't buy it, should you buy it?
Yes anon. Please drop $600 on this thing.
You dumb ass why would you even consider getting one of you have a PC capable of playing all the games Xbox has to offer?
If you don't have a gaming pc, intend to buy all of your games, want to mainly use a controller, and mainly want to play AAA trash, then it's hard to beat an Xbox with gamepass. It's probably the lowest cost entry into mainstream gaming.
Protip: If you don't have Gamepass you can do the gold upgrade trick
>Buy 3 years of XBL Gold (if you can risk it, key resellers to make it even cheaper)
>Add them to your account
>Go to microcock's website and sign up for the 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate for $1USD (make sure it's the same account that you used the Gold on)
>Enjoy Game Pass Ultimate at 1/3rd the price (even smaller if you used key resellers)
If you do have Gamepass if you can hold off for a few months microcock will give you the offer again, at which point you do the same trick as above.
Eh you're really better off saving up for a pc. If you're really desperate for a console instead, a PS5 is probably the better choice since it actually has the possibility for some decent exclusives down the line even if there's nothing good right now.
I was an idort with an xbone and a ps4 last gen and once I played through the gamepass titles I was interested in, the xbone kinda just collects dust now (though I do turn it on rarely for some DOA4).
yes, 4k, dolby atmos/vision.
back compat, xbox live party system and club pages.
compared to last gen where consoles felt outdated and painful to play on before they even released it seems nowadays that consoles are very much in the realm of "good enough" and with pc gaming running into more and more spastic pricing and optimisation issues I've actually reverted to just paying for a fucking game and playing it on console instead of what I did since like 2011 which was self build a very cost effective PC and then pirate all my games and lord over 30fps console tards. The only thing I miss is a mouse for shooters and that's it.
