I'm sorry but I pronounce it "Ris-tar". I don't know where this "Rye-star" thing comes from.

Okay.
You need to respect me, I make a lot of positive contributions to this board and if you can't accept that then have a nice day.
Okay.
>I make a lot of positive contributions to this board
And this glorious thread is testament of that?

Wrong board
And you really felt the need to make a thread about how you pronounce something?
Go back.
>I don't know where this "Rye-star" thing comes from.
English pronunciation. Another clue is that his name has the word "star" in it, and if you look closely at the spritework you'll find that he has what appears to be a big, yellow star for a face. One might then make the inferrence that the "star" part of "Ristar" should be given emphasis. Hope that helps anon! Underrated game btw, both the Genesis and GG versions are beautiful platformers that have such a nicely realized aesthetic presentation it's weird to me that it isn't more fondly remembered.
Never played the GG version but my bro and I loved the Genesis version as kids. We pronounced it "wrist-ar" but I reckon the Japanese pronunciation would be "ree-su-ta"
It's really good and if you like the Genesis version it would be weird not to like the GG one, it's essentially a bizarro world version of the original, where everything looks familiar and happens in the same order but different layouts etc. Maybe don't play it right after the first unless you just immediately want to play the expansion pack/new game +/remix equivalent.
Not sure how they would pronounce it but that sounds believable.
It's a Japanese game. They would say it like Rii-Su-Ta I'm gonna guess.
Correct way: Rye-star
moron way: Wrist-ar
Weebtard way: Ree-star
リスター, risutaa, wristar. Dumb Ninja "Gayden" pronouncing dunning kruger frick.
I always went with wrist-ar because it sounds like a portmanteau of wrist and star, telling you the most important things about him.
This all reminds me of those stupid bait images I used to see on Ganker about "How do you pronounce Mario's name?"
Actually it's pronounced feel
Literally who the frick cares? We're on a message board. It's all text. Talk about how you like the game and dont make worthless threads.

Looks correct to me.
>I'm sorry but I am a desperate (You) thirsty homosexual
Who are you quoting?
>desperate (You) thirsty homosexual is who are you quoting gay
RISTARCHADS RISE UP
FOr me it's Ruh-Aye-Stewhr
I pronounce it as "unfortunate failure".
Ristar bros why did it fail???
Came out too late to matter. The Genesis was dying a horrible screaming death in 1995 and everybody had already abandoned it.
I think that had this game come out in 1993 (the year of no major Sonic releases and thus no chance of getting overshadowed), Ristar might have had a chance to catch on and become a Sega staple.
Or they should have sat on it a little longer and made it a Saturn game Ristar is way better than Astal even without a graphical advantage
Plus saturn, stars, --thematically Ristar should have been the Saturn's mascot
Because you had chads like Gex out there.
Wait, people call it "Rye-star"?
Like Rising Star
RiseStar
Ristar
