I'm trying to wrap my head around the Zelda lore and this shit is more complex than FF's or MGS's.
>the Triforce decides the fate of the kingdom in a LOTR rip-off
>but it can be divided in fragments of Power, Wisdom and Courage, each one granting the wielder an ability
>if the Triforce is united it grants omnipotence (literally unlimited wishes)
>but if an evil person gets the Triforce it immediately shatters, sending two fragments over the world to people destined to wield them, and leaving the evil guy with only the fragment he believes in the most (in Ganon's case, Power)
>Zelda usually wields Wisdom, Ganondorf wields Power, Link wields Courage, but they don't always have any fragments depending on the game
>games are basically about the fragments swapping hands, except BotW/TotK where for some reason the triforce is not even said to exist
What the fuck?
>early reports are all saying sales are massively under the estimates
Oh no no no no no, tendiebros, did we get too cocky?
Also I'm gay
shut up bitch.
Zelda "lore" changes on a per game basis.
>giving money to this shithole
weak ass pussy bitch
jesus christ who cares lmao it's zelda lore it's less important than lore in the original doom games
>le salt man meme
You lost
lost what?
Just make a game where Link and Ganon join forces to stop a despot Zelda, trying to overly control people due to knowing better than them (Wisdom).
Thank you.
There's probably a mandate in place ever since Majors Mask stating that mainline Zelda games can only be about link and Zelda being good vs Ganon being bad
heres full story
>nothing
>one omnipotent god
>god ronery
>splits into 3 waifu gods to enjoy company
>they wander universe
>find planet
>give birth to live on planet cause women u know
>get bored
>decide to leave safety present
>each one crafts one part of the triforce
>combining the powers of all 3 naturally circles back to omnipotence
The problem is you are assuming that a full lore exists between all games based on cosmetic references and a timeline they threw together as a fun thought experiment. None of the games, sans the ones with actual sequels, are connected fully. The only part that is continuous is that an ancient evil awakens, a princess gets wrapped up in it and a hero rises to the challenge of it. They may as well be alternate universes
nah, its supposed to be a loop.
Like all 3 (zelda, ganong, link) are locked in hell repeating them same story only slightly different like those time paradox movies. Just that instead of time reset its reincarnation in this case.
Question, was it ever said directly the reincarnation cycle goes through different timelines or is it even a paradox? Because as i know there is only the reincarnation as time goes on.
there are some games that branch off as alternative timelines while others are linear timeline. I think majoras mask failure scenario and then theres windfish game where its just all a dream completly disconnected from other things.
LA comes off the back of ALttP because Link has nightmares of the bosses from that game.
I do know about the timelines, my point is
Was it ever stated how the curse should go between them? or was it only a conclusion that fans created to justify connecting these games that branched from each other too far and have almost nothing similar to each other?
This is my point.
I hate this because at the end becomes a low effort scenario where they can make any shit on thse games and people will still say they are connected just because "it is another possibility". fuck off lol
What exactly is wrong with exploring alternative scenarios? Its more interesting to have "what if he failed" than repeat "he won last time but failed to kill big bad forever lets do it again".
I dont dislike alternative scenarios, i just hate when people try to connect them and believe they follow some major logic. To the point Nintendo only needs to put every location that was on previous zelda games inside ToTK and fans will gobble it up trying to justify how there is a major lore going on and they arent just doing it to sell the game.
Just from the first cutscene in ToTK people were doing gymnastics and basedfacing at the possibility of the game being set in the Downfall timeline, only to realize as the game goes on how it is just using every plot point possible to appeal to nostalgia. They start seeing how it doesnt makes sense when the goat is named Rauru.
Those people will never realize they give more shit about Zelda lore than nintendo ever will.

It is hilarious because it would be more interesting than anything going on on this new story.
I don't think the "what if the hero failed" is a good way to split the timeline when the branch point never showed any implication that the hero could fail.
People made connections between games because one game used skeleton with armor of previous game which indicated previous games dude ended as corpse in new game.
You don't have a clue what you're referring to.
Oot to tp? That was specifically a sequel and was always Saif to be a few hundred years after oot.
There are other things thst make more sense to go after being asspulls, like everything in that downfall line and the four sword stuff
I think there is dialogue about it in skyward sword and the old n64 game OOT had the explanation about the gods.
Retard
Because there is not anything substantial there. The most basic shit is how nintendo does 2 or 3 games then reboots the lore, and that's it.
Zelda is mainstream but believing you'll get anything from its lore is delusional, it is not complex or obscure, it is just an afterthought when making these games
Anon there's detailed information of the actions of like 5 different gods, I don't even know from where people get that information
Because nothing is planned, look how we got space goats from nowhere in ToTK now.
Goats are from Ordon.
Jesuschrist Zelda fags have more autism than Sonic furry fans
Not to mention I doubt they ever touched a ff or mgs kek
I would unironically wish that Zelda were like FF is their big plan of making a connected storyline is like this. The games should've had only some similar core concepts just like FF has with chocobos, crystals or summons.
While still making some of them being sequels of each other just like Ocarina and Majora
The only thing worse than lorefags is lorelets
what
Turn that off.
why, does it make u feel bad
It's gauche
Do you also think that one of the best Link designs was wasted on the game with the most non narrative ever?
He's too cool for this game.
Who cares about the lore?
Game fun. Combat fun. Exploration fun. And you can build silly weapons and vehicles.
What'll really get your noggin joggin is if you ask "Who the hell was that random old guy in Zelda 2 that just had the Triforce of Courage the entire time?"
