based. I played with miat in GT2 and UG1, then years and years later I finally got a real one for myself, I still can't forget the wow factor of the first time sitting in it. Sure, it's a cheap shitbox, but for me it was an absolute dream car back then, just seeing miata interior around me, feeling miata shifer and pedals, it was all absolutely magical. It took me to race tracks, i even drove miat around nurburgring, it was an adventure that just kept going through life starting from being a small shitter who couldn't even drive in arcade game.
then i sold it because rust went too far, and when i was trying to buy one a year ago, it was already ridiculously overpriced compare to alternatives, couldn't find a reasonably clean one up to $6000
Hey, it's not that bad. GT86 already goes down to $15k or so, and it'll only get better with years, I think I can see some 18yo kid buying a ruined gt86 for $4k in ten years from now. Some classics are gone, some future classics are just about to come.
From my experience of looking for a nice car in 2022, after being offered a 6300eur 1.6 miat and finding out it's rusted anyway, I gave up and got an MR2. Handling is beyond insane, I miss my miata but I can't say i'm feeling bad about this change. There is always something good on the market, every age has its less popular hidden gems.
I never sold my miat and kept it in decent shape. Really nice car, even if mine is just a 1.6.
I also had one, then I went for a 1.8 VVT swap, but 1.6 was tons of fun too. It also sounds better, 1.6 sounds like a lower-revving brother of toyota 4age.
>*downgrades car to stock* >opponents always have the same upgrades as you >now everyone's driving the same stock shitboxes again
heh, nothing personnell
>want to replay it >remember how none of the vehicle handling in the game resembles anything remotely similar to an automobile >remember all the utterly disgusting rubberbanding >remember how slingshoting yourself off turn barriers and crashing other racers is the actual meta
MW's insane police chases were pretty good however. I just didnt enjoy the roster of cars, I get that they had to switch it up a bit but exotic cars do nothing for me
>want to replay it >remember how none of the vehicle handling in the game resembles anything remotely similar to an automobile >remember all the utterly disgusting rubberbanding >remember how slingshoting yourself off turn barriers and crashing other racers is the actual meta
>race lasts forever with a billion laps >aggressive rubberbanding makes sure that all those laps are just filler and the race is decided in the last few seconds, possibly by an opponent far behind you suddenly slingshotting to 300mph
the game that made me love the Miata

>by the time you've accumulated sufficient money to spend on a whim, the 80s and 90s JDM cars will already be too old and rusted
time is a cruel mistress

what if your dream JDM shitbox is an NSX, and a stock NSX at that
Then I hope you have 80k to blow on a 30y/o car.
my negger
i have one possible solution, but it's not very optimistic. i sure feel you though, nsx has my favorite engine sound in the world

Sure would be fun to watch street racing in a gutter.

Remember hating one particular reverse track because I kept taking a corner too fast which would cause me to jump in the air and crash.
>want to replay it
>remember how last ~20 races or so are all like 9 laps long
Same reason I refuse to replay Pro Street

But its fun, it's an arcade game not a sim
Rubberbanding is quite literally the complete polar opposite of "fun".
true but at the same time if you disable rubberbanding then all excitement goes away because ai can't keep up
This. All I want is an arcade racer without rubberbanding, or at least the option to turn it off.
how slingshoting yourself off turn barriers and crashing other racers is the actual meta
Unironically better
>want to replay it
>remember drifting
i'm more of a drag guy
hated them in MW though

UG1 > UG2
I hated that open map thing UG2 did, just put me straight into races.
I liked the open world, what I didn't like was the introduction of rechargeable N2O.
Was I the only one that tried to ride over the woman in these?
Absolutely. Out of the millions of players you were the only one.
>mfw didn't have pixel shader gpu back in the day and I had no start babes
it was suffering for a horny teenager
it was geforce 4 MX I think
friendly reminder that Underground 1 is far superior to Underground 2
