In my opinion, the new era of Pokemon started with the 3DS and Pokemon XY. What's the BEST Pokemon game of this "3DS/Switch era"? For me, it's a tie between SwSh (+ DLC) and USUM.
I would rank the games like this:
USUM = SwSh + DLC > LGPE > BDSP > ORAS > XY > SM > SV + DLC > PLA
What's your opinion?
A pokeshota thread died for this
And a good thing, too.
op you've got the mother of all shit tastes
PLA is the only non garbage one so PLA.
>the new era of Pokemon started with the 3DS and Pokemon XY
unovafags lmao
I like Unova and BW2 in particular, but yeah, Unova is not part of the modern era. Maybe it's also not part of the classic era, and it's something in the middle probably.
>Unova is not part of the modern era
unovafags lmao
Ok anon
USUM > PLA > SM > SV + DLC > ORAS > BDSP > XY > SWSH + DLC
Never played LGPE, and I don't intend to.
And honestly I can hardly remember the story differences everyone seems to hate in USUM, but I prefer its wider encounter variety and better trainers to SM.
I feel like Gens 6-7 are distinct from 8-9. There were a lot of deliberate design choices that older fans took issue with, but at least the games were completed, functional products
To answer your question, ORAS > XY > SM = USUM >>>>>> PLA > SwSh > LGPE > SV > BDSP
USUM = SM > SV > ORAS > XY > BDSP > SwSh > PLA
I never bought any of the DLC.
PLA being anywhere but the top (let alone at the bottom) isn't just wrong, it's insane. XY and SwSh being over SM is also ridiculous.
PLA is a snorefest.
I question your ability to have fun, there isn't a single pokémon game even half as engaging as PLA
>PLA
>engaging
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
PLA is a glorified tech demo and it fucked up a solid formula that works.
>IM AN AUTIST AND I DONT LIKE CHANGES IN THE FORMULA
like clockwork
catching 60 bidoof and watching them twerk 150 time is not and will never be fun. There’s a reason why plass is the worst selling pokemon game on switch
PLA has been selling better than BDSP. Like, it got twice the sales in half the time compared to BDSP in the last few fiscal reports. Worst selling is a bit of a misnomer. You probably mean lowest selling, which is technically true but only at the moment. By this time next year PLA might just outsell BDSP, although I'll be honest that really depends on if the Switch's successor is announced any time soon.
Yeah, the state it's in where it's a mediocre JRPG with nice online that's going to fucking die in April 2024. ORAS is just better in every way, sorry.
PLA > USUM > SM > LGPE > SV + DLC > ORAS > SWSH + DLC > XY > BDSP
Game Boy era (gen 1-3) > 3DS era (gen 6-7) > Switch era (8-9) >>>>>> DS era (4-5)
t. genwun /tr/ainer
No genuine genwunner would ever consider Gen 3 to be part of the same era as Gen 1 and 2.
gen 3 has gen 1 remakes
gen 4 has gen 2 remakes
gen 6 has gen 3 remakes
gen 8 has gen 4 remakes
what did you like about swsh?
>what did you like about swsh?
My favorite things about SwSh are:
>The new Pokemon
>The human characters
>The G-max forms
>League Card customization
>Isle of Armor as a whole
>USUM better than SM
SM = ORAS > USUM > LGPE > XY > BDSP > Swsh + DLC > SV + DLC > PLA
XY can be excused for the state it is in because they had to transition from 2D to 3D. XY and above are ok or decent, but anything below XY is dogshit.
The state it’s in that allows me to berry farm and use the pokeradar?
>rate PLA this low
kys homosexual that game is the only good nuPokemon
Unironically G8s to infinity.
It's short and has absolutly no postgame, but the story is beautiful, the characters are likable and building the settlement was fun.
Super Mystery Dungeon was cool aswell.
SwSh and SV are both unplayable, unlookable shit, BDSP is worse than the games they're remaking, so those get a negative score on reasons to play them.
LGPE and PLA are spinoffs, who cares.
LA > USUM > SM > SwSh > SV > BDSP > LGPE > ORAS > XY
>XY/ORAS
Feels like a continuation of the 2D games design philosophy with updated graphics and systems. I don’t mind this personally, because I like the old style of game map design and Kalos has unique gimmicks for most of its cities and biomes. Game Freak has struggled to make fully open world maps that look good and run properly, and I think they may have just been more comfortable with the older style and its more limited scope. Even in Lets Go the maps were nicely remade and all of the art is good.
XYORAS Battle System was probably favorite of them, and it was complimented by great multiplayer community in the PSS and Streetpass stuff.
>PLA
Real time interaction with the setting is a good innovation for 3D Pokemon, and the story premise of teaching people about Pokémon through research is refreshing. Basically where I expected Pokemon to go after XY/ORAS. Biggest problem to me is mostly the world map. It looks muddy and unfinished, like they tried to go for something as painterly as BotW without the same level of quality.
>SM
Easily the nicest cast of characters in the series. But the game is so invested in them, that it becomes a chore to play. People often cite “Cutscenes”, but I don’t mind them and I even like the story. It’s the Rotom flags and roadblocks that make Alola feel fake. Like there is nothing to do but follow Kukui or Lillie down the street. This was less a problem in XY because your sidekicks usually linger in the background during routes and dungeons.
Many SM actions feel much slower too. Like pressing A to open fences/doors, going to the Festival hub for multiplayer actions, the fps during Totem bosses, or the PC not being as smooth. Though these are mostly minor annoyances.
>SwSh
Skipped…
>SV
Broken…
LGPE and USUM are the best games of the 3DS/Switch era.
