would you be bothered if Kreia was black?
homie DID I JUST CATCH YOU BEING CHARITABLE
she would just step in and grab the credits mid transaction
is she also sassy and fat
Really influenced a lot of Star Wars going forward honestly. Great character
Want to name some examples? Preferably ones that can be attributed directly to Kreia and not the generally darker tone of the Prequels?
Kreia obviously had no baring over George’s direction with the Prequels, but KOTOR 2 is interesting in the sense that it released just prior to Revenge of the Sith— This is particularly interesting because RoTS has a very similar tone to KOTOR 2 and also touches upon very similar themes. KOTOR 2 could be seen as a primer for RoTS as a result. Admittedly, I’d be very interested in hearing George’s opinion on Kreia since she aligns with his view on what Star Wars is in some aspects, while also deconstructing other aspects.
Also, with regards to Disney Wars, Luke’s portrayal in The Last Jedi was a poor attempt at turning him into a Kreia type character.
what themes does RoTS have in common with KOTOR 2?
Hypocrisy of the Jedi Council, the portrayal of Jedi as fallible and human in general, the butterfly effect of smaller actions having bigger consequences, social and political decay within the republic, and the similarities between Jedi and Sith to name a few.

I have no influence and I must scream
>bro she just wants you to think about your choices
I know what i do and why i'm doing it. Why does she think i'm moronic?
The exile almost losing his life and soul after following the orders of Revan without thinking is literally a central theme
Kreia is a great character designed to make you question your morality, problem is if you already act like a grey Jedi, she'll treat like you don't, it's just a limitation from the game and its writing which can't be that deep without adding a whole new layer of story to it...
You can act like a grey Jedi though. You just have to explain your reasoning to her.
Not every time tho but yeah, you're right, I remember now...
this actually helped me a lot to develop my critical thinking and help me question myself and others more when I was a teen...
>Kreia is a great character designed to make you question your morality
No, she's a libertarian mouthpiece because the game was written by a libertarian and he just wrote that libertarianism is right.
>machiavelianism = lolbertarianism
lol
That's not what espouses at all.
Seems pretty spot on to me.
Wrong wikipedia page, buddy.
Making analogies with real world philosophies to simplify the message and essentialize it to simply that ideology that looks similar to a fictional character's way of acting is a dead end to truly understand that character, it's essentially making a strawman, by doing so you ignore all the contrast that is being put by the author and therefore the real message...
You have failed me Anon, completely, utterly...
There are influences of many teachings from our world in Kreia's way of thinking but ultimately she's a free thinker and wants you to be one, so she has no defined ideology nor wants you to have one...
Whatever you say, not like I care if you don't like the character or libertarianism... Just don't step on the snek and we'll be ok :^)
Since when is Avellone a libertarian?
Don't even pay attention to what this tardis is posting m_, he's either trying to b8 us or he's stupid, either way, it's not worth it to give him answers or attention...
Since he said "If a woman can't afford to pay someone to defend her from being raped then she deserves to be raped".
Did he really say that or is it what you understood from his statement?
I'm pretty sure if he really said that he wouldn't be working with any more video game companies and all the SJW trannies would have tanked his career by putting on trends on Twitter...
How does she bleach her skin so fast after going to Malachor?
Giving yourself to the dark side always let's you reroll your character for free
What about when they have a redemption arc and go good again
Only corrupt Bastila is hot
>that dialogue
Jesus. Even KOTOR 2’s more one dimensional antagonists don’t sound that corny.
>but you can’t
I feel this is unironically the point KOTOR 2 is trying to make. Under the will of the Force, the going down either a light or dark path is a slippery slope. In fact, the movies (The Prequels especially) also touch upon what Kreia mentioned about how smaller selfish actions can spiral into great tragedies.
Kreia’s philosophy is “commit to a side, but with full knowledge of that side’s strengths and weaknesses”.
Light and Dark side don't exist in purely Gorge cannon.
>Lucas: The Dark Side isn't natural, it's a cancer on the Force caused by sentients misusing it
>Also Lucas: The Force can be "balanced" by killing two Sith and hundreds of Jedi
Looks like Georgie boy here believes that Cancer is artificial.
he sold the entire fricking IP to chinks, his "canon" can suck my fat wiener, my headcanon is the only one that matters

>In order to truly follow a belief, you must be willing to betray it.
Yeah I remember those lines. Her point is that if you cannot levy full criticism of your own ideals you are simply caught within them.
Sith get powerhungry and careless under their rule while the Jedi have less of a slippery slope and more a mountain of righteousness they climb. Those that don't fall often end up with their heads completely embedded in the clouds (of their own farts)
>Her point is that if you cannot levy full criticism of your own ideals you are simply caught within them.
I thought her point was in essence a more complex way of saying "let go". For the Sith they believe that you need to be willing to betray or murder everything in order to be truly free, while the Jedi believe that you need to let go of all attachments to be free. But the Sith still go on clutching at power while the Jedi cling to morality, and they both tie themselves to the trappings of their organizations, so they're hypocritical.
"Let it go" or "be willing to let it go" is indeed her point and the very thing I wanted to express.
In a certain way Kreia's teachings have a very Zen like quality to them.
Escape the cycle of life and destruction caused by the universe i.e. "the will of the force".
“Let go” is arguably the message of SW as a whole. Vader was created by Anakin’s inability to let go and only through self-sacrifice does he redeem himself.
That said, the flaw of Kreia’s philosophy is that to truly let go, once must become one with the Force, since the Force is the essence of all life. I often feel as though Kreia’s hatred of the Forcs is a form of bitterness she feels at spending her whole life being betrayed by force sensitives.
>only through self-sacrifice
You mean, his inability to let go of his love for Padme prevented him from fully embracing the Dark Side and refusing to let go of Luke gave him the will to toss the Emperor down a shaft, to redeem himself
>Force is the essence of all life
The entire point of the Exile is that he proves that line to be bullshit. The force is important to many life forms but it is not essential.
Kreia's hatred of the force isn't some old woman being bitter. She has the spirit of the Nietzschian Übermensch, she wants to be control of her own fate.
Unfortunately in her universe she finds out that God keeps rigging the elections to support the war economy.
>The entire point of the Exile is that he proves that line
To be completely right. He's a Force leech the same as Nihilus, but he had the strength of will to "sever" himself from the Force enough to reduce the effects to a point where he can act like he's disconnected entirely instead of being an insatiable planet eater. He's still draining from everyone around him though, those he forms Force Bonds with especially. That's why he forms those bonds so easily and so many at once.
He was never truly free of the Force.
>To be completely right.
He proves it to be wrong. The Exile lived for five years completely disconnected from the Force, showing that the Force is not necessary for life.
>He's still draining from everyone around him though, those he forms Force Bonds with especially.
He uses the Force through others, yes. But for years he wasn't connected to it at all. This is why the Jedi were so frightened by him, because his existence upends their entire worldview.
She was right
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to skincare routines some would consider... unnatural
You didn't just give that homeless man $5, did you?
Why is Kreia the only one to ever do this. It seems like this should be an entire lightsaber form all on it's own.
Sidious and Yoda should've done this when fighting with sabers to show how powerful they are in the force and that they don't need to practice conventional forms anymore.
Because it's a ridiculous way to fight that leaves you open the moment you get even slightly distracted.
Sidious as a Sith and Yoda as a tiny guy should've been beyond lightsabre combat. Don't care if RLM said it, it's still true.
>yoda’s dinky saber
It should have been normal size. Really lightsabers should all be long as frick or have a long mode. It’s not like a metal sword where length causes problems with weight and balance. It literally weighs next to nothing.
actually lightsabers are heavy according to lucas and there are some with dual length settings. there's also a lightsaber form where the user toggles the saber on and off while fighting but it's so cheap both the jedi and sith have banned it
I mean you could hold a normal saber while fighting with others, just in case.
It's the most obvious thing in the world though. They have fricking telekinesis.
And that telekensis requires more thought put into it that just swinging your hands around. You have to be concious of something outside your body at all times because it will either end up useless at best or actively harmful at worst.
Even in the situation it's shown, a one on one where the Exile is only trying to fight the lightsabres instead of hitting Kreia, it's not especially effective.
So what? It's exactly the sort of thing that you'd expect a Jedi or Sith master to be capable of. It's only "not effective" in Kotor 2 because it's a videogame and the lightsabers are just being held by invisible NPCs, so the Exile can fight them normally and just lose a few points of health instead of all of them flying around his saber and bisecting him instantly.
Again, focusing on making lightsabres fly around means leaving yourself open. See how good your three sabre triple cut technique is when your opponent is choking or shoving you around the room
You could say the exact same thing for just fighting with a lightsaber plainly. It's always been implicit that Jedi and Sith protect themselves with the Force when fighting other Force-users. And if you say "no they don't, it's only all the moving and fighting makes it distracting so their opponents can't use the Force on them", I would then ask how the frick is being attacked by three lightsabers flying at you from every direction less distracting than fighting a guy with a sword?
>And if you say
Yes they do but their focus is all on themselves already so it's easier to defend their bodies from Force attacks when they're using an extension of their body to fight.
Vader throws shit at Luke in Empire because he's basically rubbing in how outclassed Luke is. He doesn't throw shit in Return when Luke is closer to his ability level and all fricked up on rage.
Now imagine if Vader was trying to twirl sabres around the room while Luke's coming straight at him like a madman.
>He doesn't throw shit in Return
He throws his lightsaber.
>Now imagine if Vader was trying to twirl sabres around the room while Luke's coming straight at him like a madman.
Vader could have easily done that and Luke would have instantly been killed. Vader doesn't lose because Luke outclasses him, he loses because he can't bring himself to actually try to kill his son.
kotor did it to get around limitations of animating characters in vidya at the time (finding something cool in the process), movies never had such limitations
>get around limitations of animating characters
What limitation? Kreia being one handed all game doesn't stop her using any of the melee animations as your companion so why would they suddenly find an issue right at the very end of the game, in a rushed and unfinished segment no less?
Master Thon did it in the tales of the jedi dark horse run
Imma say because it's fricking difficult and Kreia could only do it because of the location and her bond to you - so extremely unique circumstances.
I always thought it was kind of dumb because what's stopping a jedi knight from either using the force to grab one of those lightsabers or straight up just grabbing it with their hands?
And if Kreia is that strong with the force compared to everyone else, why not just force choke people?
It's a fricking space fantasy universe, things exist to be cool and to make a point, not to be 100% credible...
novel combat forms have an advantage because no one has trained for it and has reflexive defenses
jedi are too autistic to use anything hyper dangerous and not defensive
powerful force sith will just go unga bunga lighting
>You didn't just give that homeless man $5, did you?
the whole point of that scene is to be mindful of the consequences of your actions
your charity makes him a target, your callousness makes him a brigand, either way someone will end up hurt, but mindfulness is the lesson

Lmfao still not sure whether he was supposed to be over the top cheesy as frick on purpose or not since the rest of that season was chock full of subtleties and hidden meaning
Unironically great advice
Guardian or Sentinel?
Guardian.
Always.
Sentinel for that sweet yellow lightsaber
Sentinel is strictly better in Kotor 2.
But then you don't get to fly across the map with Force Jump
That's why you just edit your save.
>hurr if I edit my pistol to do 999 damage with 100% accuracy, scout with no advances is actually the best class
Go chew glass, dipstick.
The simple fact of the matter is that you're playing a 3.5 derivative system and therefore there is no reason to play anything other than a spellcaster. t. /tg/
Guardian and Sentinel are both equally broken if you build them right though. A high Strength Guardian or Sentinel can one shot 90% of enemies and bosses in the game.
Capable, yes, but you can do that and also have a lot of utility and shit as a caster.
Except in both 1 and 2 the main threats are from single targets, which guardian is more efficient at dispatching.
Enlightenment in particular is easily the most broken ability in the series
>Enlightenment in particular is easily the most broken ability in the series
That’s a tough one to judge. Especially since there are a ton of broken abilities:
>Battle Meditation
>Force Speed
>Sneak Attack
>Force Storm
>Force Whirlwind
>Power Attack
>Kreia’s Force bond ability
>Hanharr’s Rage ability
The list goes on.
Enlightement gives you speed on top of +6 to each attribute (and shield as well, but that's pretty much irrelevant). With a full unga bunga stat block with it, you can easily one shot anything in the game
>Except in both 1 and 2 the main threats are from single targets, which guardian is more efficient at dispatching.
That is what Force Kill is for.
>*is a Light Side yandere in your path*
>"EXIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE!" Kreia shook the Ebon Hawk as she calmly scolded the Exile through the force
>"DID YOU PUT 5 CREDITS INTO THE GOBLET OF HOMELESSNESS?" Kreia's query splitting the Exile's brain into pieces
>"It may help him - if nothing else but to survi-" The Exile mentally stammered in response
>"AND WHAT IF BY SURVIVING HE BRINGS A GREATER DARKNESS UPON ANOTHER?!" Kreia bellowed with a gentleness greater than the detonation of the Mass Shadow Generator
>"And what if it doesen't?" The Exile meekly replied as he collapsed to the floor
>"THE FORCE BINDS ALL THINGS,THE SMALLEST TOUCH SENDS ECHOES THROUGH THE FORCE, EVEN AN ACT OF KINDNESS HAS MORE SEVER REPRECUSSIONS THAN YOU KNOW! BY GIVING HIM WHAT HE HAS NOT EARNED ALL YOU HAVE HELPED HIM BECOME IS ANOTHER TARGET, AND IN THE END ALL YOU WILL HAVE WROUGHT IS MORE PAIN! THAT IS MY LESSON TO YOU" Kreia's tender tutoring giving the Exile an aneurism
>" I will consider what you have said." The Exile gasped as he jammed a life support pack into himself
>"That is all I ask." Kreia said as she gave another 50 influence points to Jedi Jesus
She said calmly
excellent
Heh
So what was Kreia’s relationship with the Sith Assassins?
The game establishes that they serve under Darth Sion, but at the Trayus Academy, the implication seem to be that they’re taking orders from her.
Did you skip the scene where she shows up as Trayus and Sion immediately becomes her b***h again
just be manipulative and self reliant and she'll love you
George Lucas is a hack fraud who just wanted some good vs. evil shit with no nuance and depth and honestly I appreciate that sort of media sometimes. Kreia just feels like Chris Avellone's mouthpiece to shit on the world.
George Lucas actually puts a lot of nuance in his work, you just failed to see it because you havent watched the movies since you were a kid or you are moronic...
George couldn't make a character as subtle as Kreia because the movies have to last 1 or 2 hours you fricking nitwit that doesn't mean there's no nuance or subtlety in his movies...
Kreia, I feel, is the sum of multiple characters throughout Lucas’ films.
I feel Kreia is what would happen if you took Qui Gon Jinn, Palpatine and OT era Obi-Wan and put them in a blender.
>tfw Lucas' plans for the ST dating back to the 80's was to have some metaphysical outlook on The Force and how it affects the galaxy and even the universe
>metaphysical outlook on The Force
Didn't it involve a group of beings called the Whills messing with everything
I feel like a lot of people's grace for these games at the time was based on the idea that they were refining ideas that would be used to improve another game further down the line
Now that it's obvious videogames are in a terminal stage with improvements coming from stupid shit like raytracing, you can't just forgive old stupid decisions because they're temporary limits in a rising medium
>Influence Gained: Kreia
>Influence Lost: Kreia
>Dark Side points gained

I always ignore all of her teachings. Go full dark side just for the fun of it. Corrupt and train the handmaiden. And always tell the old crone to keep her opinions to herself. There truly is no greater insult then to ignore the depth of her character because she's annoying.
Single hilt, double bladed or dual wield?
What’s your lightsaber preference?
A gun
double blade at first then switch to two when you have enough high end crystals to make two good ones
>He uses a lightsaber in KOTOR games.
AHAHAHAHAHA. OH NO NO NO NO AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. LAUGHT AT THE moron, EVERYONE!
no but seriously. baragwin assault blade for kotor 1 and sith tremor sword for kotor 2. equip a lightsaber in other hand so you can force jump and deflect bolts etc.
God, does anyone here even played the games?
>using any of the DLC items except the catsuit (for Mission)
>using a vibroblade instead of a lightsaber in II and missing out on lightsaber forms
>using an offhand weapon that isn't twin lightsabers
>using an offhand lightsaber instead of taking Force Deflection
Based absolute moron, I salute you.
Single hilt, but then I always crack and go for two for the upgrades.
Single blade, yellow. And in JO/JA, medium stance. For my boy, Yun. RIP.
Never played the game. What should a man do to get her in his bed?
Indignities
Be a general
only played the 2nd game, how was the first game?
She didn't actually give a shit about what choices you made, light or dark, good or bad, only that you made the choices to please yourself, and not because someone else influenced you, her included. She keeps shitting on your choices to reinforce your resilience to other people influencing you.
She calls Dark Side Exile a complete homosexual
She calls Light Side Exile a complete homosexual, too.
she really doesn't
she's nice to intelligent darkside but if you just automatically chose evil babymurderer opinions at every decision node she calls you a shitter
Kreia likes it when you do Dark Side options as long as you aren’t being psychotic and edgy for the sake of it. She seethes if you kill the council members, but only because you denied her of her revenge.
She was just b***hing because she thought you were on the same path as Scion or Nihilus, even if you simply say "I don't think I'll be at peace until the Sith stop hunting me." At the end of the game she's satisfied for you to take over the academy.
From the last Kreia thread a few days ago. I can't help but imagine Sara Kestelman's voice while reading the comment
>that pic
redditors can be some next level stupid.
Lots of landlords rent below market value because having consistent clean tenants who don't cause issues can be much cheaper than a revolving door of drugged out felons
I'm so tired of all of this moronic morality dick-measuring on the internet, Jesus Christ, it's all so fricking dumb and predictable.
