>IPS
>good motion handling and color accuracy
>silvering and ips glow, terrible blacks and contrast - all of those can be even worse if you have bad luck for panel lottery
>VA
>great contrast and blacks
>worse color accuracy and motion handling
This is hell.
silvering isnt a thing. IPS glow is only noticeable when your screen is completely black. contrast could be better but its not bad.
real problem that you didnt mention is blur and response time on IPS vs TN/OLED. which isnt a problem for all IPS but you have to know which to choose.
i think QLED, OLED, AMOLED and the others are slowly becoming more and more popular.
It's time Anon. Embrace it.
color accuracy only applies to IPS only if you stick to specific display profile, if you use any other it's worthless
the only advantage of IPS is that it's pretty calibrated out of box, if you calibrate VA monitor it's almost as good as calibrated IPS when it comes to accuracy
>check out some OLED monitors
>they are all massive 30"- 60" 4K or Ultrawide meme panels that cost thousands
Why won't they just make a 24" 1080p panel running at 360Hz or more?
Same except I still want the UW but frick all those smart tv features.
>1080p
eww
>This is hell.
you literally copying wikipedia without having a clue what those mean
I don't care. Light your room properly.
It's only a hell because you're asking for one do it all display.
Just get a monitor for work and shitposting and a OLED TV for vidya and content consooption.
Doing it this way circumvent OLEDs' biggest issue, it's not gonna get burn in if you don't use it all the time, after all.
They all have bad motion handling btw, because ghosting is framerate dependent. Very few people understand this. Even less people know about black frame insertion modes, which counter this, but has caveats and is rarely found on modern gamer trash.
The tech type hardly matter, even OLED will look blurry at 60fps. You need to make the display strobe it's backlight to clear the motion blur/ghosting.
>Light your room properly
Complete darkness
Which is where IPShit looks at it's worse
This one is great for any games even retro games and AAA games running 60fps, thanks to it's robust BFI mode and tuning. Just don't expect great image quality because of the IPS panel but as far as motion is concerned nothing beats this one and it's on the level of an OLED.
Black smearing is grossly exaggerated, it was bad 10 years ago, not so much these days. With BFI you wouldn't see the difference between sample and hold motion blur and the blacks actually smearing anyway unless you hit over 120FPS/hz, but then the VAs running this fast usually have very controlled dark level smearing.
We don't know yet, it's too new and you can't just believe the companies saying it won't get any burn in, only time will tell just like it did for LG's WOLEDs.
The Alienware QD OLED ultrawide has it's own set of bigger problems anyway
Just lower brightness, that will mitigate the ips glow somewhat.
>OLED
You gon' get burned (in).
Just don't live in the desert.
Is there a Ganker approved 1080/140+ ips monitor that just werks
Just take the TN pill until we get decent OLED monitors.
VA is horrible for gaming I don't know how people can't stand the black smearing.
OLED burn-in cannot be solved, it's an inherent feature of the technology. OLED was obsolete on inception and will be discarded when alternative solutions improve.
QD-OLED pretty much solves it as far as I understand
Same, TN until we get better shit, for gaming anyway.
