Game is very unbalanced, pretty much all attributes except Vig are useless, Dex and Str are only necessary to reach the required caps to equip items. Energy is useless because of how abundant mana potions are.
If you want to play a glass cannon spellcaster with huge amount of mana like I did then you’re out of luck. Tank spell caster is the only visible build in the game.
People say sex is useless but I can't seem to hit anything consistently without it. Maybe for a caster or summoner it sucks, but is it really that useless on characters that don't get a fat +AR with their skills?
My throw barb is pretty fun, but his throwing mastery grants AR so I don't know how useful dex is on him. I'll have to try a run where I don't level it past gear requirements and see how it goes.

also you are required to go into the menus and set up your own keybinds for skills - it's obtuse but actually works quite well and you set A, B, X, Y, R, ZR to be any skills, and you can also access 5 more cos there are keybinds for L+A, L+B, etc

Melee is only really viable at end game, on normal and even nightmare it’s an awful slog.

Wrong. People play mana build. Its not optimal, but its viable and fun.
OP here. My main concern was regarding controls: keyboard+mouse versus Joycons
