Not really. It's mid-decent up until the zombies, which is when this game really takes a nosedive, and the last level with the fricking volcano on the hardest difficulty holy frick, frick that level.
I thought it didn't really hold up on release. It was very pretty but the shooting never felt great to me. I never beat it. Probably stuck with it halfway. I did find it interesting how different the console versions were.
I played it on release, so I'm biased. I distinctly recall a patch completely breaking the stealth aspect of the game by making enemies able to see through walls and grass back in the early 2010s so for years newbies were whining about how challenging the game was. It was only the Trigens that made the final part of the game a brutal slog.
I recently played it on realistic difficulty without a fan patch. The only annoying enemy with rockets was that one merc at the start of Volcano. Fat boys are seriously overrated.
I played it for the first time in 2021 and enjoyed it

It's great, but I admit I'm nostalgic for it.

As long as you don't go beyond patch 1.3, yes
why is that?
Why do beaches look so comfy?
so what's with all the shilling for this game lately
is there a remake/remaster coming or something
Yes Ubisoft bought out Crytek to remake the game that's not acknowledged in any of the sequels, how could you tell?
100%
For me it’s
Far Cry 4>Ghost Recon Wildlands>Far Cry 5>Far Cry Primal>Far Cry 2(I’m sorry it’s just so barebones)>Far Cry 3>Far Cry Blood Dragon>Far Cry 1
nice of you to attach your selfie to this moronic post, dickhead
I am what I am, can’t run away from it.
At least you're not one of those tards who think BD is anything more than crap.

It's fine. It's what you'd expect from a game from that time.
Are the Crysis games worth playing?
Only 1 and it's sandbox editor
What went wrong with Far Cry series? The first game was so fun.
nothing, played 5 and New Dawn recently and enjoyed them
1 was good, then Ubisoft bought it and turned it into a open world copypaste
beautiful game
No
It is basically a protocrysis without a suit
Nice techdemo, meh game.
>having fun on this beautiful island?
>hope you like getting ohko'd by mutants at nighttime for the rest of the game
>filtered
crytek always blows their load on the early levels, runs out of ideas, then botches the endings.
The ending was good.
based Crytek btfoing comfygays
>puts monkeys in Far Cry
>puts aliens in Crytek
>puts pvp in Hunt: Showdown
*Crysis
freudian slip
Why did they go from this beautiful greens into the brown bullshit that is FC2?
PC2 actually did Africa really well.
FC2 even
Fire looked amazing too.
I want to die
The Xbox version is even more impressive, considering that it basically runs on a Geforce 3.
I didn't like the color palette, looked too cartoony
it could be nostalgia talking, but Instincts had some of my favourite FPS levels ever
I recently played it on realistic difficulty without a fan patch. The only annoying enemy with rockets was that one merc at the start of Volcano. Fat boys are seriously overrated.
The rocketeers coming out of the columns
This game made me build my first pc, I never looked back.
