The perfect balance was 151 pokemon in gen 1
GOfag post
fuck the pussy
Pokemon red, blue, and yellow because that's what I remember everyone playing on their Gameboys as a kid.
nah, gen 5 was when they backslid the dungeon designs because japs complained about mt. coronet being too hard to navigate
it was still good, but nowhere near the best
lol fuck no, chudova is the beginning of the end.
>is gen 5 still considered the canon best
maybe by zoomer retards who are just now old enough to post here and defend that trash
Gen 5 was too fucking linear. I remember playing Black and wondering when these two retards would leave me alone and let me do my own thing. Played for 4 hours and never picked it up again.
I prefer B2/W2 but B/W laid its foundations so yeah, Gen 5 is the peak of the series, too bad it sold poorly compared to others
Pokémon Black
*White
She moved to Black City later.
why would she move to such a high crime area?
It has a better nightlife and the locals help you get around easily.

>love them
what are some other ones worth playing? I missed diamond/pearl/platinum, should I just stick with Plat? Are fire red or leaf green any good? What about those after gen 5, are they really ALL bad?
DP are trash but Platinum is definitely worth playing, it's a huge improvement. Legends Arceus isn't bad either.
what is even so bad about diamond/pearl that platinum fixes so immensely? Also how do the other 3rd games compare like Emerald, Crystal, Yellow
Platinum has a reasonably large graphical update, the slow ass gen 4 engine runs slightly faster, the story is expanded and trainer teams updated. It all adds up to being a much better game than DP. Third versions are just a lot more polished, Emerald and Crystal are generally improvements over the originals in most regards. HGSS is the best way to play the Gen 2 games though. FRLG is also the best way to play Kanto despite a few flaws with a lot more content than RBY (Yellow is just weird and pretty bad, RB are barely functional games with a lot of strange design choices).
They never found the perfect balance. Gen 5 was the series' lowest point, when it tried to throw out as much of what made it unique as possible, in favor of making it more like any other JRPG. It's a disgrace.
>tfw there will never be a gen 1 remake as good as HG/SS
>it will only get worse
>they forgot how to make good games
If you like Gen 5 there's no reason why you can't like anything that came after. It is just as story focused and linear as anything that came out after. You have an extreme nostalgia bias if you believe 5 is perfect and 6 is trash.
No, it's where everything went to shit. Now go back to Ganker, zoomer
>pokemon moron version
yeah no
Gen 2 is the best because those games are the ones I spent the most time playing as a child.
5 is shit, 4 is best, and 6 was passable but it was the beginning of the modern shit.
>games get worse
>girls get better
what causes this
One takes effort, the other sells.
I don't understand why they pussied out on the bw1 protag being a endgame boss for bw2.
Ive played the shit out of Black and B2, and never really thought about the protag from bw appearing in bw2. Such a missed opportunity now that I think about it.
Platinum and B2/W2 are on par with each other. They were peak. They were feature-complete games. Every Pokemon game released after 2012 has been half-baked because GameFreak STILL can't into 3D, not even 10 years later.
Yeah, it's still Gen 5 for me. aSoR & uNuS were damn good but 5 is peak. Helps that its the last generation in the original universe and the last generation GF didn't feel some need to shoehorn in some dumbass battle gimmick every damn game.
Gen 5 osts are fantastic and experimental. Back then I thought it'd be anyday now that the games would have hype vocal themes for intros/endings & special battles ha ha.
The games look great and finally showoff some good neat 3D camera bits the Gen 4 engine hinted at previously but didn't really make use of. The all new Pokemon sprites were a big step up from what we had before. Rustling grass/water splash/cave dust cloud added some extra life to wherever you were, as did the seasonal changes.
Unova region is hella memorable including even useless places like the trainyard and undersea tunnel. Black City / White Forest, Join Avenue, and Dream World were experimental and cool as hell while they were viable (if you established a good Join Avenue then it still is at least). Dungeon of all types still existed alongside many other neat places like Village Bridge.
The gameplay rocks. With these games the Gen 4 engine finally became good. Massive speed increases across the board compared to the previous DS games. Everything from screen/scene transitions to the exp bar animation to no longer having to save A LOT OF DATA was such an improvement you wouldn't believe it.
