No, I played 2018 ad it was boring as hell.
I beat the first one two weeks after ragnorok came out and I was pissed that I could of just watched a recap video in the game then beat it in the first place

I loved the previous game in spite of its obvious issues. Felt like GOW 2018 was by far the most successful example of the Sony "cinematic action game".
I don't know if i'm at the half-way point or not, i'm at the part where Freya is accompanying you in her bird form, after the section with Atreus in Ironwood and i am really liking the game but goddamn does the pacing in this game feel off. GOW 2018 felt too slow at points; this one feel too erratic. Shill Up might not have good opinions but he was right about this game feeling like two stories crammed into one. Combat is more refined/satisfying than in 2018 though, the battles really are doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. For a game that seems like it was only trailing Elden Ring in the 2022 GOTYs, i can't say this is anywhere near ER's level. Good, not great.
yeah the pacing is off because you keep switching between Kratos and Atreus
gameplay wise the game feel is an improvement on the 2018 one , the menu UI is awful though , the previous one had a better menu

I'd say no anon. GOW Ragnarok was the move vile, repulsive and offensive game I've ever had the displeasure of playing. It made me realize that its just not worthy not even trying these sony games anymore.

what didnt you like about it?
the characters the walking and talking non stop. how no character has any redeemable quality. Gods in a soap opera setting acting and speaking complete retarded degenerates. the constant hand holding. the gayry "easter eggs". the fact that kratos is such a gay while still wearing the ashes of his wife and daughter and never mentioning it.
everything about it is vile, combat might be somewhat redeemable but its just not worth putting up with the rest.

my honest opinion. I stopped playing the game the moment I saw the cutscene with thor looking towards the camera crying while his dyke daughter lectured him how to be a man.

I enjoyed it, there's some marvelisms in there but the game as whole I felt was fun and fairly challenging on hard mode. I don't think the combat being as fun as it is deserves to be played on easy as it can get pretty intense and gave me those little dopamine hits from having quick reactions like Nioh 2 gave me. Overall lad I'd say give it a blast if you want a big silly action combat romp with buckets of melodrama.

It’s GOW for babies. Have absolutely no idea why it’s M rated . The executions and violence are fucking weak! When you kill things they turn into glitter. Santa Monica neutered Kratos. The game is one long linear hallway that looks like a pretty screen saver. Might be the most expensive boring game ever made! When your a fan of something, you make excuses and try to defend it because you loved the originals so much. I’ve never been so let down and disappointed! The game sucks. It just sucks. It’s not fun and it sucks!

Pretty bummed its taking this long and wasnt included. Loved the game, but moved onto other stuff and losing interest in doing it all over again as the days go on. Gonna have to be some kind of interesting hooks to get me back.
