If you're going to play a long game you might as well play the definitive version.

    What hassle?
If you have a PS4 you can only play the base game.
If you have a PS5/PC you can only play the "Intergrade" version.

I have a PS5, you can download intergrade with PS+ from the store but I also have a copy of the PS4 version wondering which one I should play and I have to wait longer for the download.

Intergrade's a lot of fun and improves on the main game in a few ways. You might as well go for that one in case you end up liking the main game.

If you can play non-intergrade on a PS5. Many people did since Sony gave the base game out on PS plus.

Price, mostly. Objectively speaking, Intergrade is just the best version, even without DLC. Better graphics and framerate. The only issue on Intergrade, for Console players, is going for the hassle of getting a PS5 if you didn't had one. I would argue, if you have the Vanilla game for PS4 already, maybe getting Intergrade is not really necessary, though I would recommend it if you find it on sale, enjoyed the base game as it is, and want a second go. With that said, price difference aside, anyone with a PS5 or a PC + PS4 combo, even with a price difference, I don't see a reason to pick up the Vanilla Game over Intergrade. Again, it's the best version on a technical level, and sure, it does have the extra content.

Bros I want to live in the Midgar slums so bad. I want to take the train to work every morning, eat their shitty street food, get angry about W*tai supporting our domestic terrorists while driving through the tunnels at night on a motorcycle.

Kinda lame that all of the NPCs just look like regular real world people and then you have Cloud walking around looking like a turbo anime protagonist, Barrett with a gigantic gun grafted onto his arm, and the rest of Avalanche with wacky and distinct designs. It would have been great if they put a bit more effort into the NPCs. Not saying they all need to look as cool as the main characters, but a similar aesthetic for some of them would stop Cloud & friends from sticking out like sore thumbs.

And yeah Midgar is strangely comfy and I want to live there.

That's just the Final Fantasy standard. Even in a game like FF X where everyone is a weirdo, you party STILL Stand out as Anime Cosplayers among them. If anything, I guess it makes more sense with FFVII, specially Midgard, where it's suppose to be a Big yet "normal" City, but your party is made of Weirdos from all over the place.

You should play the actual FF7, not this unfinished, rushed and butchered DE-make, that's also not a remake at all, but some odd meta sequel.

      ^ This.
After CCFF7R I've been thinking about trying out the PC version with some nice upscaled backgrounds mod like Remako or SYW V5.

I can’t be bothered to finish crisis core.

        Doesn’t feel modern enough.

I really like the inbetween setting you can use for doing commands and otherwise allowing the AI to control when you're managing ATB.
I wasn't too impressed with her campaign story though. But I was never that impressed with her story in the original either. More Scarlet though is nice.
