That happened to me the very first time I ever played. I used one of the Icarian Flight scrolls to get to the top of the tower thing at the end of Arkngthand and accidentally flew out of the level geometry lol

Morrowgays and Morrowind deserve to be dragged on the streets and be ridiculed like a prostitute. You are disingenuous as frick.
People like Skyblivion not because it has "muh better animations", but because traversing is not a chore that wastes your time.
Oblivion and Skyrim have a fricking horse and fast travel, which makes them a more convenient experience than Morrowind when it comes to exploring.
Frick that constant auto traveling shit.
And no, not everyone will want to break the game with magic, and fly with 1000skoomas up their asses to the other side of the map. If you want to endlessly walk from one place to another, then shut down your computer and go outside. It will do you good, since the only exercise you get is by watching your Nerevarine autowalking(and occasionally stuck to invisible walls) for hours.

Morrowind is older than most of the posters here, the reason to play it is for its comfy atmosphere

I liked how it encouraged you to slow down and actually observe your surroundings while you navigate from one place to another, or just explore. In games with quest markers on the compass and constant running/sprinting, people never really notice anything around them, they just sprint in a straight line from one objective to the next. Sometimes you have to force people to have fun because they will ruin it for themselves if you let them.

Not without at least some mods such as enhanced textures, animations, distant terrain, and so on. also a mod that enlarges and scales up the UI and fonts so they are more readable on higher resolution monitors.

Played for the first time in 2022, it was a slog in the first 10 hours, but after I leveled a bit and got further in the questlines, it became really good. I wouldn't replay it though, you can get a more modern proper RPG experience with modded Skyrim, but for 2002 it was mindblowing.

Code patch or OpenMW for engine
MGE XE or OpenMW shaders and distant land (no more than 3 cells)
      Patch for Purists
      Expansion Delay
      That's it.

I played Morrowind for the first time a few months ago. All I did was install OpenMW and tweaked some graphics settings (increased FoV, increased render distance, and some others), that's it. Later on I added some texture mods, and they were pretty nice, but not required

Morrowind Enhanced Textures is a vanilla-friendly AI upscale for all textures in the game.

Tribunal's main quest sucks. Everything else about it is pretty cool, except the visuals of the city.

Tribunal is meh while Bloodmoon is good save for the werewolf maze at the end

They are worth experiencing once and not any more IMO

Tribunal is mostly one big sewer level with goblins that suck, but storywise it's cool because get to met the rest of ALMSIVI. Bloodmoon is better with an actual new island to explore but both expos suffer from level scalling making fodder enemies have ludicrous amounts of hp. Imagine if cliffracers in the main game multiplied in number and had a million HP, that's the Bloodmoon experience

I started playing for the first time in like 10 years just last month and it's incredibly fun. Using OpenMW and installed some modlist and I can hardly tell what's vanilla and what's modded because it's been so long, feels like a completely fresh experience. Can't wait to get to Tamriel Rebuilt content as well.

I'm a zoomer who didn't play Morrowind till it came out on Xbox one in 2020, so yeah, it's possible...

  21. 2 weeks ago

Sure. People shill OpenMW version of Morrowind, but keep in mind some older mods don't work with that version. Maybe in a few more years we'll see a sort of parity.

For example I use mods like Ashfall (survival), Guar Whisperer, and Ultimate Fishing. All those mods are only compatible with the original game, not OpenMW compatible..for now at least.
You can probably find mods that could carry you through a full playthrough. Even simple shit like exp/skill multipliers, which I recommend to zoomers.

Should I get this Open Microwave thing or Morrowind Graphics Extender?
The only mod I need is that esp that makes all attacks hit so that way my arrows won't quantum tunnel around the cliff racers. Other than that I think the game is pretty enjoyable.

Open Microwave is more stable on modern systems at this point so get that if there aren't any specific old-Morrowind mods you really want

thats what i did in 2017, i dont think theres been anything earthshattering to change that between then and now
