If they didn't even unlock the framerate or fix the music why the hell wouldn't you just emulate?

If you have PC, just emulate it. The remake doesn't do enough work to justify its existence.

The artstyle they used means it has aged well. Also it's way easier to move onto Digital Devil Saga if you're used to emulation, there's no remakes for those.

Pros of emulating: free, better lighting and you can use the Hardtype mod if you want to also this might be very subjective but I hate the new font
Pros of the remaster: you can manually pick skills when fusing demons, you can mod in HD music, and voice acting (which I personally didn't like but even then it's optional so not a bad thing and other people may like it)

      That's a con.

If you haven't already beaten this game several times in the vanilla version, you're a little b***h. As someone who has completed the game on each route, being able to make game breaking demons makes it much more enjoyable. Zoomers don't deserve the real experience anyway.

        >the HD version let's you trivialize the game

ah yes, going in and out of the fusion screen until you got the right skills is peak difficulty

Optimal setups aren't supposed to be handed to the player with no effort on their part. Not only is it needless, it completely fricks the difficulty curve to the point of being unrecoverable.

also the game is capped to 1080p internal res unless you do a hexedit

don't do this, save TDE for your second playthrough on hard so you can experience the original story first as intended instead of Yamai's cringe fanfic

OK op, listen to me... ignore the people telling you to emulate. Just trust me ok. You need to buy the game. You really do. Piracy is wrong and you know how hard atlus worked to make the game. Listen anon, you really ought to buy the game. Just buy it. It's not a bad price when you consider how good it is!

The HD version lets you pick skills when fusing demons, buy it or pirate it.

You can set HD version to randomized skills.

Due to the way weighting works many combinations are outright impossible. You are suppose to only reset for 1 or 2 skills you want to inherent and call it a day.

The only good part about remaster is picking your skills during fusion, everything else feels like a downgrade.
