I like the Original Wii art style better, and yes it is.

Try both, I emulated both versions for about an hour each and decided I liked the Wii version better.

emulate the wii version and get a graphics pack, then the graphics will be 300% better.

the original faces match the same graphical style as the rest of the game. they are 3d and have 3d shading. the remaster just slaps a flat 2d anime face on the characters which isn't even shaded in the same manner as everything else. it just looks off.

It's the superior version in every regard. They even improved the music as well.

    OG

    New

The OG sounds like a 90s JRPG preview movie theme, the kind of thing you'd see if you left the game running on the screen for too long. The new sounds like a modernized orchestral version made for concert. The old one is better because it's understated and easy to listen to as you're playing. The new one demands attention and would call away the gameplay.

            Retard, you're the shitposter here.
Your unironic argument for why the new one being worse is, unironically
            >uuuuuuuuh, my brain can't focus on the gameplay
            Meaning you're brain damaged.

It's literally the same shit except recorded at higher quality with clearer audio and some small fleshing out of the track here and there, while also extending the loop so it's less repetitive (which helps when you run around a lot in large open spaces).

            But again, your """argument""" is
            >my brain hurty
If you're not kidding with that shit that's 100% a you problem because of some severe brain damage.

Clearly you think you're proving that you're not a shitposter and not wrong by continued shitposting and shitting up the thread. But by all means keep breaking global rules.

You're the one wants to use greentext and ad hom rather than a discussion. If anyone is a shitposter here, it's you. I'm just responding in kind. You wanted shitposting? Fine. I can do that.

                >You're the one wants to use greentext and ad hom rather than a discussion
Yes, let's ignore the arguments raised that countered you so hard you resorted to juvenile shitposting because you can't handle being wrong.

                Your argument was
                >new version of music demands so much of you mentally that it distracts from the gameplay
Which is downright absurd. Why? Because the main difference is the higher quality recording of the same composition, with a few minor subtle additions and extended loop.

So if your argument is still you saying that clearer audio recording of the same composition is so distracting to you that you can no longer focus on the gameplay, then yes that is 100% entirely either a you problem or some utter desperate attempt at mental gymnastics. Because the simple idea of a remaster having even something better over the original is something you're incapable of accepting because of immature mental bias.

Now go ahead and reply with some more shitposting. That's clearly the only thing you know how to do.

That's better. Thank you, I appreciate that.

I want to point out that arguments made in greentext and using egregious ad hominem are always in poor faith and I -as should you and anyone else- disregard them as trolling.

                Onwards:
No, my point was that the music is arranged in a more orchestral manner, and thus has low lows and high highs, this wouldn't distract from exploration. As you said it's much more easy to listen to during of long stretches of doing nothing vut walking. However it could overshadow any callouts and audio cues. Voiced Heart to Hearts already had a problem with being overshadowed by the music, unless they tuned the muxing then it only enhance the problem and causes further interruption. Rather than that being my main issue, though, it is a shibboleth for other issues as well, especially if the overall audio, which is a big focus in games such as these, is poorly muxed then what else could be wrong? Enemy balancing? NPC relocation? Item relocation? There's a who slew of things that a remake can change that's not for the better. Look at Majora's Mask 3D, or for a lesser example Twilight Princess HD. Hell, as an extreme example, the Silent Hill remake debacle. I'm not overly concerned about the music alone, just what that remixing of it entails.

                >"You can't focus on the gameplay!"
                >you can unless you're autistic
                >"The audio mixing might be bad!"
                >you can change every aspect of it to your liking
                >"A-Actually I'm talking about general game balance!"
They added toggles for overall difficulty, detailed enemy health and behavior settings and cashing your exp back by lowering your level. Please keep going cause I want to see just how far you can move those goalposts.

The music is worse in DE. Engage the Enemy and one who gets in our way are inferior to the originals. The only song I can think of that is better is the Fallen arm.

Even if we pretend your taste wasn't atrocious, the remaster is still the best way to play the game because you can swap over the music to the original.

Wii games have always looked like horseshit and DE looks like a budget title, 3DS is the best version, looks super impressive on the handheld screen and has THREE DIMENSIONS!

Point being that the remaster is the way to go.
Only reason to play the Wii (or god forbid, 3DS) version is if you for some insane reason think that the infinitely worse visuals of the Wii version to be "better".

The faces and human models in general were the most derided thing about the original back when it released. I'm not a big fan of the rather flat 2D faces either but they're much easier on the eyes and are a noticeable improvement over Xenoblade 2 in terms of detail.

To be fair, both artstyles are bad. Wii version does have better textures/models iirc while the Switch has better sound and gameplay quality.
At the end of the day, the improvements in the DE edition really make it the better option.
