Because the player is not the Nephalem in D4. D3 also established very clearly after you beat the death angel dude that the Nephalem is some kinda godlike being beyond anyone on sanctuary and beyond, and it all canonically ends at that moment
D4 happens 30 yrs after d3, where the fuck is the nephalem? The nephalem is supposed to be so powerful he would deal with lilith easily...
