Is Kingdom Hearts 3 worth playing?

Is Kingdom Hearts 3 worth playing? I heard everyone that died in the previous games came back to life and that sounds kinda lame tbh

You could say that it completely destroys roxas/xion stories....
    And you would be right

story wise its completely shit, gameplay wise its pretty good with the re mind dlc, data fights are the best in the series and i think keyblade transformations are more interesting than drive forms but thats subjective

Did the dlc fix the base game??

There was some free DLC that brought in better finishers and critical mode (which gives you new skills like an improved counter if you block with better timing, and a skill that straight up turns off disney rides) so it did improve things somewhat
Haven't actually played Crit though so I dunno how balanced it is, especially if doing it from a new save rather than NG+
the paid DLC has story stuff which is meh but the superbosses are pretty fantastic, honestly you could just pirate the PC version and download a save file that gets right to the bosses on Critical, I might do that since I only fought them on Proud difficulty on PS4

Half of the formchanges are reskins and a lot of them have mediocre movesets and just look silly. Contrast that with drive forms that each had fleshed out movesets with unique magic, that were all equally viable in their own right. Really the only thing they have over drive forms has more to do with keyblade switching as a mechanic. Being able to augment movesets by switching in and out of forms, like switching out of Double Form to use Rising Spiral at the end of a basic combo and go into Magnet Burst immediately is cool, but this is a rare interaction. Keyblade switching is too unresponsive to incorporate into more freeform combos.

Yeah, basically every KH OC in the past games shows up in this game either very briefly or in an important role. Even if you thought 'they are long gone, there's no way they-' yeah those show up too. Dream Drop Distance reset Organization 13, so everyone is back from there (although they are not Nobodies anymore, and not everyone from Org.13 is in the new Org.13). There are some great moments from returning characters though, but if you just want to see that you can watch the cutscenes online. Also the final showdown fight is about 1/3 of the game in terms of length if you include all the cutscenes. Imagine if they made The World That Never Was three times longer in game time than it currently was.
If you really, really like Kingdom Hearts up through 2.8, then yes its worth a play. But if you are just neutral on the series, then I'd say don't bother. It isn't as good as 1 or 2 imo.
Also I think the Re:Mind DLC doesn't add a whole lot to the game. The new Org.13 are great, but the new story mode and fights are kind of mediocre imo. Also it doesn't really improve the gameplay imo, which I think was what needed the biggest overhaul. That's just my opinion though.

I would like to add what

by the point you get to the final act where the actualy story happens you will be thinking and accepting it as good since you'd have been playing the most boring ass words (mostly) beforehand. Main game is filler until the final act in short. Has some based battles then. Nort court low key carries the game singlehandedly. Remind dlc is great for it's bosses. If you continued past 2 you might as well sink deeper into the abyss.

      states:
      >Nort court low key carries the game singlehandedly
Agreed. There are a few fights towards the very end that almost singelhandedly made me whitewash all the bad things from the game up till then. There is a lot of great fanservice that KH1 and 2 fans will enjoy. Please avoid spoiling those fights if you plan on playing the game though. That said, whether its worth going through the entire game to get to those moments is up to you. I think its good to play if you really are invested into the series.

There's nothing about the dumb concept behind KH that is worth paying attention to.

The gameplay is only maybe enjoyable during a post game dlc and the dialogue is outright shit even by the series standards.

It reminds me of in WWE maximum velocity when vince mcmahon unmasked himself as a cult leader and twin peaks mixed with a ps1 square plot that never ends. I love it

No one died in the previous game except Xion who was retconned to be in Sora's heart a decade ago in a different game.

    >Aqua
    Lost in realm of darkness

    >Terra
Possessed by Xehanort is actually the Guardian / Lingering Will

    >Eraqus
Body died but heart lives on in Terra like how KH1 Kairi's heart lives on in Sora then actually dies at the end

    >Ventus aka The Darkness
    Heart sleeps in Sora

    >Vanitas
    Heart sleeps in Ventus

    >Ansem the Wise
Sent to the dark real after his machine blue up

    >Namine
    Heart lived on in Kairi

    >Roxas
    Heart lived on in Sora

    >Replica Riku
    Sent to the dark realm

    >Ansem, Xemnas, etc
    Time travelled there

Am I missing any? Anyways no don't play it you're an easily influenced moron if you have to ask Ganker

That's honestly really lame. So when you die in kingdom hearts you you just go to the shadow realm or someone's heart and then get revived again later?

Kingdom hearts has no stakes. Makes you not care at all for the sacrifices characters make when they can just be revived at any moment.

No. I never said that. No one I listed died.

In Kingdom Hearts 3 we go to limbo and watch 11 people die for real.

Every keyblade in the keyblade graveyard was from someone who died.

        Eraqus and Xehanort died.

        Disney movie characters die.
