They did, she got retconned into a dindunuffin in the Ultra games. Something about Nihilego poison. Gamefreak/TPC is oddly adamant about not having a proper villain/crazy these days.
Personally, the whole thing implies to me that the stories of the games get a LOT of last minute changes, and that there are still good ideas at gamefreak that get stomped out. Lusamine being vain, manipulative and unloving as a mother was probably always the intention, but slipped through the cracks and was decidedly retconned in ultra. I also think a lot more was planned for Gladion and his burning hand, but that was also cut. It really makes you start looking at everything a little differently at what it could've been, and makes you wonder if it was supposed to have been
I just finished Shield and I could not believe that the entire climax was,
"Hey Leon, I need your help with something."
"Okay cool, I can help you tomorrow."
"I can't wait that long!"
I think it's kinda weird how Oleana and Rose suddenly change roles in the story, throughout most of the game it is Oleana who is constantly pressuring Rose about their plan while he lazes around, basks in his celebrity status, barely pays attention to Bede's actions and in general seems extremely incompetent, but then Rose forcibly starts the Darkest Day and Oleana becomes a hysterical damsel.
Methings there's ESG fuckery at work, personally I believe earlier drafts had Oleana as the actual villain, goading idiot Rose into awakening Eternatus with horror stories about the energy crisis so she could capture it for herself.
This wouldn't only be more in line with how they're characterized early in the story, but also with Peony who is just as silly and weird as Rose is for most of the game, those goofballs are wholly incapable of evil.
[...]
Ultra S/M lobotomized her so hard, even her chapter in the villain arc was the worst because they couldn't make her evil like she originally was.
TPC hated how "real" Lusamine was as a widowed and abusive mother going off the deep end, and since Lillie was literally the deuteragonist of the anime they couldn't very well tell her story to an audience of toddlers.
That's why she was neutered in every subsequent appearance aside from Masters (which uses the SM version of Lusamine), Ohmori flew too close to the sun with incorporating his family trauma into the story.

they were trying to make her into a self-centered hero but i didnt payoff as strong
So what's the difference between Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon?
I want to play it but can't decide which one
USUM is virtually identical to SM aside from different Totem Pokemon, some new/changed trainers, turning Lusamine into a "dindunuffin hero all along" because of Necorzma's hamfisted integration into the story and several more story interruptions due to the existence of the Ultra Useless Squad.
Instead of the climax being confronting the monster Lusamine's become and saving her from her fatal delusions so Ultra Beasts don't pour into Alola en masse, the climax is instead focused on stopping Necrozma so it doesn't go berserk in an all-powerful form consuming all light in the world and destroying everything in the process.
Literally play SM for the story and the events, they are MUCH better.
It's a pokemon game so you should be able to coast through it pretty quickly if you aren't retarded.
USUM removed so many of the funny events or the interesting shit (which makes sense because they wanted to make it different) and often replaced it with stuff less interesting.
After completing SM just play through USUM for the extra stuff and post game battle tree.
You aren't paying for this shit anyway, right?
I don't know much about pokémon but I was a bit surprised when I first heard about that since I had heard they retconned in a later game or something
And yet in the anime she is a clingy whore to her daughter. Way to fuck her up.

>they function as a pseudo sequel.
lol no they dont. they are at best a soft retcon, with only bw2 being the actual sequel. All of the new events in 3rd versions (distortion world, rayquaza/kyogre/groudon deadlock, etc) all happen on the same timeline as the original games are just inserted into it. USUM is the only games to literally rewrite the story
USUM had the rainbow rocket, better boss fights, and just overall a bunch more content but I feel the story took a turn for worse. That's all I'm saying here. I prefer evil lusamine
I hate how we get these flashes of brilliance in otherwise shit games / mostly childish stories.
I mean Sun and Moon has the fucking worst enemy team, they're a legit non threat.
>I mean Sun and Moon has the fucking worst enemy team, they're a legit non threat.
They're the best team in the series because they're the only one that makes any sense.
Team Skull is a bunch of teenagers who have way too much time on their hands and no guidance in their lives because they all live on tiny islands, so they resort to forming a group of misunderstood youths who get in peoples way for attention. Their dialogue is fantastic, legitimately funny and plays into their concept well.
>non threat
Literally all of the evil teams are non threats. The few that even remotely feel threatening are exclusively because their leader is a psychopath - mean while the people who follow them are literal retards who serve to gain nothing from the actual goal of their leader (Team Galaxy and Team Flare especially).
What I really love about Team Skull is that you can find grunts looking to move on to new things after its disbanded. It plays nicely into the whole theme of failure. Team Skull was formed by a bunch of punks who weren't able to make the cut as trainers as a way to feel worthwhile and strike back at the people who looked down at them. But it becomes apparent it was only holding them back, as they all seem to be a lot more optimistic once they're free from it.
If old Ganker ever formed a gang, it would be something like Team Skull.
>is that you can find grunts looking to move on to new things after its disbanded.
We also got this doujin of the team skull girl moving in with the Aether employee It's not porn
I'd say Ghetsis is the darkest Pokemon gets, but they were trying with Lusamine
also Guzma says something like "you're not getting out of here alive" iirc when you fight him in the Skull hideout
Guzma didn't seem like a villian though, he probably said it because it sounded cool but I doubt he'd actually kill anyone. Lusamine was insane but Your Boy Guzma was just sick of being underestimated or looked down on and started a gang for all his fellow rejects. He fell in with Lusamine because she seemed like the only one who recognized his strength.
Guzma was just a shitty Gonzap rethread, just like Skull and Aether were a crappy rethread of Snagem and Cipher.
What they should have done is make Skull the heroes opposing Aether, but because Aether has such a squeaky clean reputation it's Skull that gets unfairly maligned, boom, original plot that doesn't suck shit.
Guzma wasn't bad, but making him Lusamine's random retard hired thug undermines him as his own character.
>but making him Lusamine's random retard hired thug undermines him as his own character.
He was far more than just a hired thug though. He was a man grappling with insecurities because he was never good enough to be the best, on top of some potentially implied physical abuse. He often physically takes his anger out on himself and his signature pokemon is one that puts on a tough act but is actually a wimp deep down. Lusamine preys upon his self-esteem issues by offering him the praise he craves. Maybe it's not what you want, but it's at least far more fleshed out than a hired thug.
Yeah, Sun and Moon could get insanely dark. >constant theme is parental abuse >that house you find implied to have been Guzma’s where all his dad’s golf clubs are broken and the guy talks about kids hitting back. >the undercurrent theme unrealized dreams with the eeveelution dudes, that one shopkeeper, also Guzma, Hau, Olivia’s inability to find love and escape being a kahuna. >asshole gods outright terrorizing humanity.
>First female villain >Of course has to have trauma and be poisoned by an evil alien and didn't really want to do anything bad
At least with Sada being exactly the same as Turo we got an actual bitch, the fact that a lot of media feels the need to justify the evil acts of women is ridiculous; I will also never forgive Sword and Shield for failing to make Oleana the actual villain, the way she and Rose just randomly flip roles at the end of the game is so retarded.
How do the retard execs go out and tell everyone "OUR GAME IS MEANT TO BE FOR KIDS YOU SAD FUCKS" when the writers slip dialogue like this in
Thats good. Thats sad. I wouldnt say its appropriate to mix cutesy magical animals with car crash deaths and lessons on letting go of hate if your primary audience is children too
The conclusion I come to is that Game Freak has no idea what they're doing
SM in particular has multiple of those, there's an eevee quest where you go around and challenge adults who used to be trainers like you but had to put their passion down to start jobs and grow up and you find them in places like their work or retirement homes. One of them is dead and you have to fight her grandkid.
fun fact: Japanese fans actually complained about things like this, saying they detracted from Pokemon's tone

Japanese Nintendo fans are the biggest reason franchises like Zelda or Pokemon no longer have elements of horror, sadness or negative emotions. They want nothing but homogenized escapism.

I get it and I was kind of in that boat too. It gets kind of eye rolling and feels like it was made for clickbait or something with how hard it clashes with the rest of the series.
ORAS prior had also retooled the Abandoned Ship into Sea Mauville, an area that's a shitpost about Japanese work culture and a parallel to the real life Gunkanjima.
But the funniest part is that true to that shitpost's form, you can find letters from Professor Cosmo as a kid to his dad, and it's extremely heavily implied that because his dad was such a workaholic that was never home, his wife started NTRing him.
>Letters from Professor Cosmo as a kid about how his dad is a workholic and his mother just "goes out with her friends all the time" >When he does come home they fight
>Game Freak, a Jap company known for having fuck awful conditions that make people into workaholics, making a game where the writers slip in jibes about how destructive japanese work culture can be
Yknow, a game for kids! Pikapi!
Yes, every single Cubone lives the exact same tragedy and it's inescapable because the mother dies as soon as the Cubone is born.
It's so blatantly clear the species was originally meant to be one-of-a-kind and given to the player after you put Marowak's spirit to rest, but instead there's just a bunch of them stumbling around the Pokemon Tower.
Every single Cubone is wearing the skull of its dead mother, no exception.
A female Marowak is fundamentally only capable of producing one child in its life because it will die as soon as it does, and then the Cubone goes on to wear her skull.
Yeah it's weird, it should be a variant in which 90% of the Cubone are unmasked dinosaues and only 10% of encounters do have a bone helmet, being the ones with dead parents.
No what Im saying is that missingno was what was going to be the original pre-evo to Kangastan and cubone was an offshoot when the mother died, but it got cut. Or maybe Im mixing up shit, I cant remember

Every single Cubone is wearing the skull of its dead mother, no exception.
A female Marowak is fundamentally only capable of producing one child in its life because it will die as soon as it does, and then the Cubone goes on to wear her skull.
Sorry buddy, but Cubone/Marowak is just a Kanghaskan who didn't fully develop because his mom died.
No, they are orphaned Charmanders wearing the skulls of dead Charizards >Charizard mom dies >Charmander stays by her side, flame goes out, mother rots >puts on Charizard mom skull >is now Cubone >later evolves into Marowak
Let me explain >Kangaskhan is the "Parent" pokemon, a 100% female species >They all raise a baby in their pouch while it develops >If they die, the Baby doesnt finish fully developing due to its reliance on some sort of magic link to it's mother >Wear's the mother's skull (And uses one of her bones as a weapon?!) in a desperate attempt to establish that link (It doesnt work) >Evolves into a new pokemon species offshoot (Cubone) >Cubone develop along their own evolutionary path and can develop into either male or female (50/50 split) so they can reproduce independent of the mother dying >The newborn babies either inherit their mother's skull or are bone with a mock-version of a skull (Yes this is bullshit, Pokemon have also never ever been seen breeding or laying an egg so breeding in lore is a complete mystery, its all bullshit)
Thats the best possible explanation for how it works
>Yeah no one gives a shit about this gen
We're way beyond that when you've got people like you judging how much people give a shit about pokemon based on the human characters.
It died with SwSh. Like absolutely zero redeeming qualities. You know its bad when the memes about angry scot trainer are better than the entirety of the fucking game
And it only got better from there because Japan literally wasn't told about the dexcut until far later, only westaboos who paid attention to E3 actually heard about the news.

In retrospect I am willing to admit gen 8 had some cute designs, for humans and Pokemon. I liked some of the aesthetic choices, if not the execution of those choices. The gimmick was designed for flexibility after the previous two gens' gimmicks being locked to specific mons and defining entire teams around those supermons, which was a marked CONCEPTUAL improvement. Actual execution made the gimmick overall very swingy and overcentralizing in its own right.
Hell, even gen 9 has some merits. I might grouse about how it trivializes Pokemon variety and progression but god dammit I want to give open world a proper chance sometime, this just isn't it. Paradox Pokemon are a cute sort of double parallel of regional forms and UBs that I overall like the style of, and Tera... is just as polarizing as maxing, somehow, in spite of its absolute conceptual simplicity and the innate balance it involves. And there's still a couple of cute girls and Pokemon...
I just don't have very much of substance to praise for either generation. Do I praise gen 8 for at least still having routes with trainers who'll battle you without your consent? Do I praise gen 9 for its gimmick being so hyperflexible it can have an entirely different use on all six members of your team at once, only locked in to one of them when you activate it?

The character designs are great in 2D and looked fine with the cel-shaded Let's Go/Sword and Shield engine, the problem is all these unecessary details they keep adding to appease the idiot naggers who are still hung up about the fucking tree in the Wild Area, which consumes resources and makes everything look like ass.
We didn't need textured clothing/fur, individual hair strands or needlessly complex eyeballs, Pokemon is a cartoony franchise and has always looked better the more cartoony it is, without all this pointless shit the game could have looked and run perfectly fine.

They had literal gold with LGPE's aesthetic, all they had to do was use that for a new game made with those visuals in mind and with properly proportioned models instead of chibi and you'd basically get a game that perfectly captures the feel of the franchise's spirit.
But nope, GO's the cash cow that rakes in at least half a billion dollars annually, so SV is yet another attempt to get GO players to buy and play the mainline games by mixing GO's westcuck artstyle with the standard look of the rest of the franchise to great detriment.

The best part of the DLC is the Ogre Clan side quest, see
The side quest that this anon is talking about the Ogre Clan in the Teal Mask DLC
They are 8, and they all have lvl 75 Pokemons, which are actually trained, hold items, and are almost comp ready
I went with Pokemon that were a few levels above 75, and I still got absolutely bodied the first time around, and they only have 4 Pokemon
But yeah of course if you do it with lvl 100, fully maxed out and comp ready team it will be baby shit
You have to battle 8 crazy mofos that actually have end game tier teams, and it is actually challenging, as long as you don't whip out your lvl 100 turboautist comp ready mons.

Teal Mask is essentially a micro story that's meant to be sporadically played between your Paldea adventure, with levels ranging from the start of the game up to where it caps off at Level 40.
Then you come back after completing Victory Road so you're eligible to challenge and capture the Loyal Three, then you come back again after The Way Home so you can battle the Kitakami Ogre Clan.
Part 2, Indigo Disk, is meant to be played AFTER the main story AND Teal Mask, so it'll probably have even more proper challenges for its post-story content since they need to make sure the kiddies can catch Terapagos, the poster child of the DLC and Area Zero as a whole.

The thing I'm looking forward to the most in Indigo Disk is that we'll be able to endlessly rematch all those characters, with hopefully lvled up teams

The artstyle for Scarlet and Violet was really, surprisingly bad. Sword and Shield and Legends were ugly games with awful textures and animations, but the stationary human beings looked good. It was the only thing those games really had going for them, but they fucked it up for no good reason
>Game only shills and continues to shill to homos and roasties >Why characters that have zero relevancy don't have thousands of porn
The ironic thing is that when pajeet shills on /vp/ pretend pennis and the man in a suit are totally not garbage and pozzed designs that killed a generation
Lmao I remember when I said the same thing when it was out for a week and a bunch of shills jumped down my throat,as if that would change the fact that there is factually a massive drop in porn for this gen. Wonder where they all are now?
>yet there's this trashy feeling like she's from a pokemon porn parody and not a real canon character.
The sad thing to me is if you go back and read old OLD ass doujins from when the series was starting, they have much more interesting ideas and interpretations of the Pokemon world than what the games do now. Like there was one author who thought Team Rocket's members were all abducted and brainwashed trainers. It was honestly a pretty interesting interpretation of the Rockets IMO.
Who was there to make porn of? >nurse who you won't ever encounter unless you do the optional academy "content" (lmao)

she deserved more
bland fitness instructor >makeup guru gym leader wearing a triple-layer cake >two children with ~10 minutes of screentime, and the mature-looking one of the two is wearing an ugly face mask
Porn is only made of characters with unique designs. Sword and Shield had Nessa and Sonia.
Penny got a decent amount when she was first announced. Then the game came out and people realized what a boring character she actually was and the porn dried up.
Not that Rika isn't hot but she mostly trives off "genuine" fanart
That's what happens when there's only one decent character design in the entire game.
Rika is a surprisingly popular for such an androgynous design. Especially because a number of her fans appear to be japanese girls. Maybe she's become a "literally me" character.
Nah, Japanese girls don't want to be her, they want to marry her. There's an astonishing amount of art from Japanese girls of self-inserting as the female protag to be with Rika.
designs these days don't get drawn out of genuine interest, they get drawn to follow trends, and once the trend is over you move onto the next trend, it's all about clout-chasing
second, there's nothing to distinguish pokemon's character designs from your average anime or vtuber anymore, and what those offer these days is atrocious. that unique artstyle and design philosophy pokemon once had is completely and utterly gone now

this meme always proves that people are retarded. it's about contrast, and a completely flat track with a couple minibumps arguably has more contrast than your typical edgy adult game that only consists of drops. having something slightly dark in a Pokémon game is like riding the wild mouse rollercoaster where you're kinda surprised by how hard it throws you into the curves. nobody is surprised when they get on a rollercoaster that is openly a thrill ride.
nagger Pokemon has been way fucking darker than this pozzed shit since the beginning. >implied slave labor for pokemon >hypno abducting people >like every fucking ghost dex entry
Your "omg its le dark now!!!!" is baby shit. Even fucking Pokemon Colessium was darker.
I'd include the Orange Islands in your marathon, I think they have a lot going for them. It wasn't until Johto Journeys that the anime started to fuck up.
Also Pokemon 2000 is the best Pokemon movie.
>Game's Antagonists were a bunch of gangsters who kidnapped pokemon and Abuse them then sold to the black market >Mewtwo's origin story was him breaking out and and potentially killing scientists >Pokedex Entries that even more grueling facts about pokemon than what we're shown >Japanese version had even more explicit references that were toned down >Perverted old man peeping into Erika's gym.
Pokemon has a history of Mature/Dark themes since the first games came to the market. Needless to say, The modern games isn't even close to Gen 1's level.
It's utterly criminal that her new design's officially stuck in chibi form until they return to non-chibi Kanto AGAIN, assuming they even reuse the design in the first place.
It's a good upgrade from her original Gen 1 sprite and does a solid job of conveying that "calculatingly cold businesswoman" look that was missing from the FRLG design.
>Japanese version had even more explicit references that were toned down
Sounds interesting, do you have any examples or know where someone can read about that?
Pokemon abuse is a constant across the games and the pokedex entries for gen 7 in particular are edgy as shit considering it's Pokémon. >Mega Evolution fuels its brutality, and it may even turn on the Trainer who raised it. It’s been dubbed “the blood-soaked crescent.”
>Mewtwo's origin story was him breaking out and and potentially killing scientists
The game (in the japanese version) implies that dr fuji was the only scientist investigating and manipulating the genes of mew's offspring.
I'd argue professor in SV is darker because the professor has not only being killed because of their own hubris, but they're also the real villain because what they're doing will fuck up the entire area if the past/future pokemon can break out of Area Zero and they don't care. Even their robot knows it's a terrible idea to do what the professor wants, but they're stuck with following orders because of their programing.
Then add to the fact they're a deadbeat parent to Arven.
>only gen 1 mons >pokemon Go catching, no wild battling >still 1:1 scale with the original (original overworld scale was justified by the chibi overworld sprites, now looks much more jarring) >super special ace shouldermon who can do everything even if you just want to pet a cute eevee or pikachu
That's how.
i dont know. its not amazing. theres some downsides to it for sure. but worse than sw/sh, arceus, and scar/viol? not in my honest opinion. sw/sh might be a little bit better if only because its the most typical pokemon game
I think Masters EX has the best jump to 3D artstyle, but sadly it's a shitty gacha with terrible gameplay.
Feels like the original art team got relegated to Masters EX while Indian interns make the mainline games.
>is also the worst game.
SM and SWSH have far worse "gameplay."
Believe it or not, despite being marketed towards literal babies, Let's Go still lets you off-leash enough to be the most open world Pokemon game until PLA/SV.
>2018 Switch 3D remake of a Game Boy game >less features, content and improvements than a 2003 2D remake made for a weak 16Mhz handheld that was noted for being a barebones remake even for the time
Master balls even if don't have a price tag in the games are supposed to be expensive that only the company or super rich people would have. This just makes even more weird for the professor without any resources or outside help to have so many of them...
>This just makes even more weird for the professor without any resources or outside help to have so many of them
You only ever get one once per game and a possible extras through side stuff, it's not necessarily like they're loaded with the things, it's more or less they got it them through connections in their fields.
That's the thing the professor had no connections. The story even said everyone abandoned them. No money or connections for all these master balls. Even the AI itself shouldn't exist if this wasn't a baby game.

I mostly was speaking on the professors as a whole but that is a fair point, I doubt it will ever be elaborated on either since they can't write resolutions to this stuff to save their lives like the now two characters that have been Isekai'd into new worlds with no real explanation given for it.

We should be able to reach our own conclusions on how the Master Balls happened considering the second DLC is going to dedicate itself to solving the remaining mysteries of Area Zero, Heath's expedition and most importantly Terapagos, there's a lot waiting to be explained about the true nature of the Tera Crystals considering they're miraculously powerful enough to have allowed the AI professor to be made and functionally exist, they tell us outright that the current tech of the world wouldn't be able to sustain them.
Simple. If every Poke Ball had the same effectiveness of a Master Ball, then Poke Ball sales would be nonexistent because everyone that isn't a hyperactive kid will only need 1-3 Balls in their entire life.
You gotta remember that in-universe, it's considered incredibly difficult to raise more than 1-3 Pokemon at a time since there's actual needs to tend to, the only time you'll see someone buying lots of balls is if they're a seasoned veteran that's dedicated their entire life to being a trainer, an overall prodigy or they're a plucky kid given the task of filling out a Pokedex.
Big Poke Ball collaborates with those who produce and distribute Pokedexes in order to boost Poke Ball sales by way of incentivizing them to partake in the great scam that is "making history by completing the Pokedex", which of course requires a lot of balls. While they are cheap, they do add up significantly in large numbers when you need to buy even more "just to be safe" in case they fail to capture the Pokemon you want or you're surprised by a species you haven't caught yet.
I think in the original game it's kind of implied that Master Balls are shaky, on a morality level. The Sliph President tells you to keep it quiet. Catching Pokemon is supposed to partially be you winning over the wild Pokemon with what a great trainer you are. The Master Ball takes all that out of the equation and immediately enslaves the Pokemon with no input into the matter.
Kinda like planned obsolescence in real life. The Poké Ball industry wouldn't make as much money if every ball worked perfectly. That's my headcanon at least.
>You have no idea what he'll send out since its literally from another time >Neither does he
Spending a moment wondering what Sandy Shocks could be and then seeing caveman Magneton left one hell of an impression on me.
Same reason why expendable consumer batteries aren't getting much better despite technology evolving at an exponential rate. There's an incentive to keep them at a certain level, and that it so that you'll continue to by more of them.
Apparently the next DLC is going to reveal something about Master Balls, probably related to pic related since this guy seems to be able to "catch" other Pokemon and control them.
aren't these just the dudes Rayquaza eats?
I skipped sun and moon, but I thought they're just high in Infinity Energy and wander around space
never heard anything about them catching other pokemon
No, it's a new Pokemon.
Pretty much nothing is known about him though, all there is about him is some lines of code, a picture that isn't shown fully and a weird plushie.
The whole part of the end game about Area Zero was pure fucking KINO. Toby Fox for sure had a hand in writing it in my opinion aside from the music. It was ao good.
>The whole game was a generic pokemon game except for the dead dog quest >Postgame sends you to a unique piece of space with heavenly music building up to this kino bossfight
Its definitely a peak in the series as a whole. But I don't think it reaches this:
>merges with an UB >battle theme >oh shit we fight her? >she throws a pokeball
Her pokemon looking dead inside was a neat feature I guess but I was so disappointed.
That's just in the anime, in the game she's a normal girl
Psychics in the Pokemon universe tend to have a pretty hard time because their powers are tied to their emotions so they have to learn to be stoic or else their powers go crazy, and most of them have ruined childhoods because of this.
EXCEPT THE GAME IS NOT DESIGN FOR THAT SO YOU WILL END UP EITHER OVERLEVELED OR UNDERLEVELED BECAUSE GAME FREAK IS LAZY TO MAKE THE CHALLENGE LEVEL WITH YOU
nta but I have no idea what that's even about
guess it's a sidequest, but one challenging sidequest (assuming it is) doesn't make up for the rest of the game being a 1-hit slog.
Older pokemon games were almost as easy as this if you only trained 1 pokemon, but then something would come up that your overleveled mon couldn't beat and you'd get slapped around. Famously, the Miltank in G/S.
Because of shared EXP even that small sliver of a challenge doesn't exist anymore.
Obviously the game's not meant to be challenging to a grown ass man who knows the ins and out of the game for 10 years, but this isn't even challenging to toddlers.
Letting you into the new zone with your lv100 pokemon is just stupid.
It would be really easy do something like "Sorry trainer, you can only bring one pokemon and the box system is limited in the region to protect the region's ecosystem" , reset your 1 pokemon to level 5, let you pick another starter for the region (like Isle of Armor gives you Kubfu) and go from there fresh.
It would literally be so fucking easy but they don't even try.

The only way they could make it a challenge is if they set all trainer battles to a set level. You know, like the battle facilities used to do. That they removed.

It's a good thing you can just go play online instead! I'm sure your bros will have fun trying to compete against minmaxed Paradox Pokemon, powerful Hisuian Pokemon and imported Legendaries from SWSH.

>It's a good thing you can just go play online instead!
Good argument but... OOPS! Nintendo shut down the servers in the future! Now when you revisit the game there will be nothing else to do because they removed the Battle Facilities!
Anon, Game Freak will not suck your cock for White Knighting it on Ganker.

Why are you playing an old, outdated game, in that case? It's going to have less features, worse graphical fidelity and revisiting it will only destroy your fond memories of a pleasant experience.
>Muh side quests
Irrelevant.
A open world game with no level scaling is just plain lazy, anon. If they had no intention to do level scaling, why the fake "freedom" then? The Gyms are still in a order, that's no freedom at all.
Game Freak is just incompetent as balance designers.
Apples and Oranges. Pokémon's gameplay is much more linear than, say, Skyrim or Oblivion because it's turn-based, which is why it needs level scaling more than those games.
>we don't want to be held accountable for our terrible design anymore >now it's your own fault when the game is paced like shit AND we're off the hook for designing interesting overworlds
When will this """design philosophy""" finally die?
Most stage one or baby pokemon should be weaker or have the same human strength. The only real problem with pokemon are their "magic" attacks that can fuck you up
Kinda fucked up that Nemona has rich parents and is able to do whatever she wants while Arven had one parent walk out on him and the other is an obsessed professor and when tried to visit them his closest friend was nearly killed and did everything he can to help them recover since its all he has
>dark >bad guys do kidnappings and harass pokemon as a genuine crime empire instead of an autistic group of criminals, and that's kind of it
not quite the same as a character having been explicitly murdered and replaced with an evil android that is now intent on murdering you too
Fug stabbing Zinnia is probably the darkest Pokemon has ever gotten since Pokemon aren't allowed to be portrayed harming humans. Also probably the only time blood has appeared in the franchise.
I've always found PM Special incredibly underwhelming for the amount of hype it gets as the "main" Pokemon manga. Never read anything beyond the Kanto stuff though. Electric Tale of Pikachu will always be the best though.
an empty horizontal plane is not "explorable space", since there's nothing to find in it
might as well be playing pixelmon then, the explorable space in that is infinite so that must mean it's a better game?
I would happily go back, they're inherently more interesting than a wide open space with nothing to find
Arceus did it better, but even that's not great for an open world
I do think the pokemon formula calls for an open world though
if you look at the first hour of S&S and S&V, it's actually really cool to see the pokemon wander around, doing their thing. The spider guys in the trees, the bird pokemon flying from tree to tree, some other guys stalking the grass, the marills and fish pokemon in the rivers.
It just works so much better than a linear map, but both games very quickly devolve into just putting down a plain field and letting pokemon pace around back and forth in it like it's Metin2 or some other low tier MMORPG.
If Gamefreak ever manages to build maps more structurally similar to MHWorld and incorporates the pokemon in them they will conquer the videogame market in one go.
Open but not boundless, detailed and interconnected, with a heavy focus on the pokemon's daily lives.
They're never going to touch the combat itself, so this is the only way forward for the series. Sadly I think they only did the open world S&V because of Breath of the Wild, they probably have no intention of doing anything like this and never will.
I literally couldn’t name or even remember the general looks of starters from gen 4 to gen 8
Gen 9 is the first gen since eons that has actually iconic starters, yes even the homosexual duck
I wonder what's gonna happen with Kieran.
I replayed Teal Mask and it's funny how he has these schizo ticks where he suddenly looks like he wants to murder you the moment his Pokemon suffer any damage.
Oh, alright. I wasn't gonna come anyway because me and my new wife Ogerpon were going to consummate our cemented bond by fucking her raw for several nonstop hours in order to lavish her with the love and attention she's so desperately craved ever since her friend died all those centuries back.
There's no hard feelings from either of us so do be kind and congratulate us if she gets pregnant, OK?
What video game franchise would be my ideal alternative to Pokemon? >game without fairies >anti-RPG game >anti-pokemon game >game without cute designs >non-competitive game >game without magic > totally single player game >franchise where the balance is never amount >game that can be played on Game boy advance, Playstation 1, Sega retro consoles and Atari retro consoles
That's because MissingNo. as we know it only exists in the western version of Gen 1, the glitch wasn't nearly as popular in Japan and it had an entirely different set of forms and quirks.
That's because TPC was scared that Pokemon was losing its global appeal when a few interns saw all of the normalfags complaining on Facebook about how "WTF is Pokemon nowadays?? this shit was still going after it stopped being cool and now it looks like this?"
Canonizing MissingNo. would set a dangerous precedent of acknowledging and celebrating glitches, which wouldn't look very good considering how heavily SV is being critiqued for its own flawed programming.

Nah they seriuosly say that "You have to raise your pokemon with love and care" and "Poorfags don't deserve to compete in pokemon tournies. It is so fucking bourgeoisie that it is the only thing here that legitimately pisses me off.
Every person who had standards when it came to Pokemon was chased out of /vp/ by newfags, coomers and discordfags.
Pretty meh to be honest, generation 9's trainer designs are among the most boring, generic and samey in the entire franchise, and it's not even the uniforms (Tough they are a problem too), nobody stands out, the Elite Four in particular was really whatever, not a single design on the level of Lance, Drake, Shauntal, Malva or Acerola.
I really wouldn't call it "dark" even by Pokemon standards. Team Rainbow Rocket had you basically send every previous Team leader to their dooms in the timeline where they won (which would end up getting them killed), which is kinda fucked up.
>The Stones bow to Sordward and Shielbert >In contact with Ultra-Beasts >Possess psychic-type abilities >Control Galar with an iron but fair fist >Own gyms & pokecenters globally >Direct descendants of AZ's ancient royal blood line >Will bankroll the first cities in Ultra Space (SordShielgrad will be be the first city) >Own 99% of pokemon breeding research facilities on Earth >First designer baby pokemon will in all likelihood be Sordward and Shielbert babies >both brothers said to have 215+ IQ, such intelligence on Earth has only existed deep in Celestic Town monasteries & the Unknown Dungeon >Ancient Unova scriptures tell of two angels who will descend upon Earth and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented technological progress with them >They own Pokeball R&D labs around the world >You likely have pokebots inside you right now >Sordward and Shielbert are in regular communication with the Legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta, forwarding the word of Arceus to the Pokemon League. Who do you think set up the meeting between the Ghetsis & the Elite Four? (First meeting between the two in over 3 generations) and arranged the Champion's first trip to Mt. Coronet in history literally a few days later to the Sordward and Shielbert bunker in the Wild Area? >They learned fluent Kalosian in under a week >Nation states entrust their pokedollar reserves with the twins. There's no gold in Ft. Delphox, only Ft. Sordward >The twins are about 8 generations old, from the space-time reference point of the base human currently accepted by our society >In reality, they are timeless beings existing in all points of time and space from the big bang to the end of the universe. We don't know their ultimate plans yet. We hope they're benevolent beings.
In Galar there is a legend of the Darkest Day when Eternatus went berserk and caused hundreds of pokemon to Dynamax and rampage accross the region until he was stopped by Zacian, Zamazenta and their trainers, the pokemon went into hybernation and the trainers were crowned kings, and somewhere down the line the story became muddled and all knowledge of the pokemon was erased to prevent anyone from questioning the legitimacy of the royal family.
These two fucktards are the last heirs to the throne and show up to fuck shit up after Sonia writes a book detailing the real history of the Darkest Day.
Never, because then that game could "finish" his journey leaving him unable to be brought back without a full reboot.
They're keeping him on standby in case it's vogue to return to the old anime formula, we'll have to see how things play out once Horizons has its run.
>Never watch old Disney movies, pussy.
fuck i miss when we had good shit like the black cauldron and secret of nimh at the time i thought it was mid but a troll in central park is great by today's standards..
This, people pivot to this to claim that SV is dark but there's death in most games, Cubone's mother, the fuckton of people Kyogre and Groudon likely killed, all those explorers who died in the wild in Hisui, all the people who got frozen by Team Plasma in Opelucid, all the idiots in Team Flare's hideout when Lysandre an heroe'd, the islanders who got brutalized by the Ultra Beasts, the people and pokemon who got trampled during the second Darkest Day.
>team flare is all dead >Lysander is implied to be immortal in X after the gigabeam shit and is pinned under a mountain of boulders and steel, unable to die
Lysandre's plot is different depending on the game, in Y he intends to use Yveltal's power to wipe out the entire region to stop the depletion of natural resources, in X he plans to use Xerneas to give everyone eternal life so no matter how bad things get nobody can die.
Thus, by firing the ultimate weapon into himself he most likely gave himself eternal life in X (Just like AZ did in the past), but because he fucked up and destroyed the HQ on top of himself then he's stuck down there forever.
not as dark as One Piece. Newest chapter dropped, Kuma isn't actually Bonney's dad, her mom was his childhood friend he was in love with, she got kidnapped and raped until she had Bonney, then died, and Kuma is raise the NTR baby
>UK >Pajeets everywhere
Makes sense.
Also, kinda based that Leon and Hop's dad colonized a pajeeta making her kids far lighter than she is.
And because you can pick the race of your character to me the whole thing is an ode to an aryan boy reclaiming the land, humiliating Leon and sending Rose to jail.
>UK >Pajeets everywhere

Okay so I’m not the only one who thought Nessa was supposed to be Indian than black?
From Cufant and Copperajah alone I read most references to brown people as pajeet stuff, I mean, curry is everywhere and it is the UK so brownies are more pajeets and arabs than blacks, also they make them legitimately distinct from all the basketball-americans in Unova.
That’s kind of what I thought but everyone here and everywhere adjacent seems to insist Darkskinned = African. Admittedly these morons thought the same thing about dark skinned characters in Sun and Moon which, it’s like have they ever fucking heard of Polynesians?
Carmine and Kieran's case is just a combination of the inner hair dye trend that's currently popular in Japan, and reptilian motives.
The reptilian eyes, the crossed bangs resembling a snake's forked tongue and the hair tips also representing a snake tongue.
Not sure why they went specifically with snakes, though.
Sure, but we don't know what its full power form looks like aside from the sketch Heath made, and that seems to match the sense of grandiose scale we've come to expect.
Her gimmick is that you have different masks that change her type.
You can make her grass-fire, grass-rock or grass-water type, and after terastilizing she becomes full fire, rock or water.
Pirate it at least to get Ogerpon, she's cute and makes comp fags seethe.
It's funny how much they went with the cute Pokemon in the DLC after Calyrex unnerved and probably prevented sales of the DLC by being a weird, unnerving abomination.
it would be nice if they gave them new mons we couldnt get otherwise like gen 1 farfetchd but we all knew there will only be a small handful of mons that are some shitty evo, legends and special snowflake forms that you can count on one hand
Forcing AIs to do exceedingly simple stuff is my form of humiliation ritual.
I hate AIs and I'll make sure they spend their entire existence working on pointless, asinine crap.
pic related was way more edgy
I CAN FIX HER!
I don't know much about pokémon but I was a bit surprised when I first heard about that since I had heard they retconned in a later game or something
That shit was utterly fucking retarded. It's like they forgot the game was over and had to wrap it up there
And yet in the anime she is a clingy whore to her daughter. Way to fuck her up.
Ultra S/M lobotomized her so hard, even her chapter in the villain arc was the worst because they couldn't make her evil like she originally was.
they were trying to make her into a self-centered hero but i didnt payoff as strong
So what's the difference between Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon?
I want to play it but can't decide which one
It's like pokemon bw and bw2
No, BW2 is an actual sequel to BW, USM is just a streamlined version of SM with some minor story changes.
You aren't paying for this shit anyway, right?
what does she say in the japanese version?
I kill for a version of usum that kept sun and moons story in tact
Then play sun or moon?
The whole point of third versions is that they function as a pseudo sequel.
>they function as a pseudo sequel.
lol no they dont. they are at best a soft retcon, with only bw2 being the actual sequel.
What does that make Team Yell then? They're a complete joke. At least Team Skull has a decent battle theme.
Team Yell can't even be considered evil imo, they are just a bunch of retards rooting for a girl.
As disappointing as SM/USUM were, they were the last games with any amount of soul in them
If old Ganker ever formed a gang, it would be something like Team Skull.
>is that you can find grunts looking to move on to new things after its disbanded.
We also got this doujin of the team skull girl moving in with the Aether employee
It's not porn
Archie, Maxie and their admins also do that in the ORAS postgame, and so does half of Team Plasma in between BW and B2W2.
Yeah, Sun and Moon could get insanely dark.
>constant theme is parental abuse
>that house you find implied to have been Guzma’s where all his dad’s golf clubs are broken and the guy talks about kids hitting back.
>the undercurrent theme unrealized dreams with the eeveelution dudes, that one shopkeeper, also Guzma, Hau, Olivia’s inability to find love and escape being a kahuna.
>asshole gods outright terrorizing humanity.
>First female villain
>Of course has to have trauma and be poisoned by an evil alien and didn't really want to do anything bad
The Nihilego toxins in SM were supposed to be an allusion to drug abuse without explicitly spelling it out.
sumo has one of the best stories in the franchise and i'm tired of pretending otherwise
SM is certified kino
:^(
How do the retard execs go out and tell everyone "OUR GAME IS MEANT TO BE FOR KIDS YOU SAD FUCKS" when the writers slip dialogue like this in
Thats good.
Ganker is barely different, what with the general complaints you get if there is any amount of clothes added to any female character, or anything like that.
>Letters from Professor Cosmo as a kid about how his dad is a workholic and his mother just "goes out with her friends all the time"
>When he does come home they fight
>Game Freak, a Jap company known for having fuck awful conditions that make people into workaholics, making a game where the writers slip in jibes about how destructive japanese work culture can be
Yknow, a game for kids! Pikapi!
Sure thing kid
this is heartbreaking tbh
are you telling me every single one of its species lost its mother and is mourning her?
Yes
Yes, every single Cubone lives the exact same tragedy and it's inescapable because the mother dies as soon as the Cubone is born.
It's so blatantly clear the species was originally meant to be one-of-a-kind and given to the player after you put Marowak's spirit to rest, but instead there's just a bunch of them stumbling around the Pokemon Tower.
>mothers only ever have one child
Every single Cubone is wearing the skull of its dead mother, no exception.
A female Marowak is fundamentally only capable of producing one child in its life because it will die as soon as it does, and then the Cubone goes on to wear her skull.
>Mom said it's my turn to wear her skull
Yeah it's weird, it should be a variant in which 90% of the Cubone are unmasked dinosaues and only 10% of encounters do have a bone helmet, being the ones with dead parents.
I think it was confirmed that it was supposed to be an offshoot line of Kangastan where the mother dies early, which is why missingno turns into one
That ghost in lavander town was murdered by team rocket, missingno is just a glitch
No what Im saying is that missingno was what was going to be the original pre-evo to Kangastan and cubone was an offshoot when the mother died, but it got cut. Or maybe Im mixing up shit, I cant remember
That sounds interesting but i'm pretty sure devs confirmed it was just a programming quirk
Found it.
https://fantheory.fandom.com/wiki/MissingNo_Theory
Turns out you're right. Still an interesting theory
Sorry buddy, but Cubone/Marowak is just a Kanghaskan who didn't fully develop because his mom died.
10x harder than diamonds
No, they are orphaned Charmanders wearing the skulls of dead Charizards
>Charizard mom dies
>Charmander stays by her side, flame goes out, mother rots
>puts on Charizard mom skull
>is now Cubone
>later evolves into Marowak
Let me explain
>Kangaskhan is the "Parent" pokemon, a 100% female species
>They all raise a baby in their pouch while it develops
>If they die, the Baby doesnt finish fully developing due to its reliance on some sort of magic link to it's mother
>Wear's the mother's skull (And uses one of her bones as a weapon?!) in a desperate attempt to establish that link (It doesnt work)
>Evolves into a new pokemon species offshoot (Cubone)
>Cubone develop along their own evolutionary path and can develop into either male or female (50/50 split) so they can reproduce independent of the mother dying
>The newborn babies either inherit their mother's skull or are bone with a mock-version of a skull (Yes this is bullshit, Pokemon have also never ever been seen breeding or laying an egg so breeding in lore is a complete mystery, its all bullshit)
Thats the best possible explanation for how it works
Man, the porn for these new girls really came and went didn't it
Yeah no one gives a shit about this gen
>Yeah no one gives a shit about this gen
We're way beyond that when you've got people like you judging how much people give a shit about pokemon based on the human characters.
The entire region of Sinnoh is carried by Dawn and Cynthia being the most popular main character and champion.
That's a real funny headcanon you made up about the generation that introduced Garchomp, Lopunny, AND Lucario.
There are more people that want to fuck Cynthia than there are people who want to fuck Lucario. Sorry anon.
It's amazing how brazen and confident you can be and yet so wrong at the same time.
>forgetting Glaceon, Weavile and Floatzel
I was keeping it to the ones people would be most familiar with, we could be here all day listing off gen 4 sexo
Pokemon is dead and anyone with a soul knows it
It died with SwSh. Like absolutely zero redeeming qualities. You know its bad when the memes about angry scot trainer are better than the entirety of the fucking game
Lmao what, it died with Black and White.
>implying it didn't die after Stadium 2
My favorite schizo! How are you doing my friend.
Amazing how you literally cannot criticize SwSh in any way on this board without the discord coming out of the woodwork to screech about Gen 5.
Probably because by the time those two came out Pokemon was long dead. Unless you think drivel like XY or SM were good.
My favorite part of SwSh "hype" season is the moment literally all the memes and hype came to a screeching halt when the news about Dexit came out
And it only got better from there because Japan literally wasn't told about the dexcut until far later, only westaboos who paid attention to E3 actually heard about the news.
>still sold enough to be the 2nd best selling in the series
>haters and dexitfags are still seething about it.
Go back to your discord.
keep seething, dexitard.
>heh, I won because my dogshit game sold more meme numbers and made a random asiatic richer... totally owned
You sure showed him. Lmao, you cant even argue your game on its own merit, you have to resort to sales figs. That in and of itself is telling.
It's basically a religious belief among THAT kind of Pokemon fan that Gen 8 is the worst at everything because it has to be to justify hating the game more
As much as I hate Gen 8 Gen 9 is far worse than it in several regards, such as designs
Hating on new designs is just another form of "muh 2d" ism that /vp/ engages in. Gen V has the worst overall imo
Do I praise gen 9 for its gimmick being so hyperflexible it can have an entirely different use on all six members of your team at once, only locked in to one of them when you activate it?
sold enough to be the 2nd best selling in the series
games sell on how good the last game was normies do not keep up with game development or read reviews if the last game was good they buy the next if the last game was bad they skip it.
>It died with SwSh.
It died before that.
the beginning of the end was gen 3
gen 6 was the nail in the coffin
Grusha got more porn than any of the girls combined
Grusha?
Never seen. Never even heard of. Irrelevant character.
>irrelevant character
r34 artists disagree
the world doesn't revolve around you
such a baffling character design. don't know why Nintendo is blatantly making porn bait characters like this. do they see those legs????
Just checked and it looks like Nemona, Iono, and Penny all have more.
this gen is all about the boys
I want to knock up his sister with my outsider genes.
Carmine won't even touch you unless you defeat her though.
You also need to humilliate her brother to the point of causing him to have a meltdown, that will get her instantly wet.
Why is almost every single one of her lines an inuendo?
God she's repulsive
Stop, you are being rude towards a very sweet girl.
Lose the mole, then she's cute.
Soulless.
i fucking hate blueberry naggers so much it's unreal
the facial animation is bad the character design is shit the lighting is somehow worse, and this is from the company that excelled in character design
>the company that excelled in character design
Just because the Pokemon fanbase is full of desperate waifufags doesn't mean GF is good at character design.
Game Freak USED to excel at character design.
Early Pokemon was just bootleg Toriyama.
Hell, Ash has Goku's hairstyle.
Okay, and? Toriyama is literally one of the GOATs of character design, and Sugimori understood how Toriyama's designs worked while putting his own spin on things. That doesn't make the end result bad, and it's a hell of a lot better than what Pokemon is now.
It would be good if it was actually made by Toriyama.
Then go play Dragon Quest Monsters. DQM3 is right around the corner on the first of this month and you can play its demo right now.
Nah, I hate Dragon Quest.
Everyone would have the same 5 hairstyles and the same 2 faces he does for everyone, so no, it wouldnt at all
I miss Gamefreak's webpage.
Next Pokemons should use Unreal Engine 5.
>the idiot naggers who are still hung up about the fucking tree in the Wild Area
Making the ground out of play-doh that massively overconsumes polygons and then making details that would actually require polycount/depth out of few polygons is retarded backwards optimization.
I mean, yeah, GameFreak has always had a very stupid way of doing things, it's only gotten worse after Iwata croaked and left them to their own devices, but fuck me, at least Sword and Shield looks fine and runs well, Scarlet and Violet can't even muster that on top of being just as shitty as all other nu-pokemon games.
Who's this literal who? DLC?
yeah, older sister of a guy we fuck over.
To quote a youtube video " in the short span of 3 days he lost all his mental stability, composure, sanity, and is going to murder us in part 2"
Is the DLC even worth pirating? The base game was so fucking boring I was actually glad when it ended.
The best part of the DLC is the Ogre Clan side quest, see
You have to battle 8 crazy mofos that actually have end game tier teams, and it is actually challenging, as long as you don't whip out your lvl 100 turboautist comp ready mons.
Doesn't seem like we'll be able to invite Team Star leaders, a shame but we can already rematch them endlessly.
Still a shame that we had to wait for a fucking DLC to be able to endlessly rematch all Gym Leaders and E4.
The part currently out is basically introduction to the two characters via the Ogerpon storyline. Seems like the meat of it comes with part 2, which wont be out until mid december. Still, it was nice to have a rival that keeps getting more and more mad the more you defeated him to the point of having a mental breakdown.
Pirate it at least to get Ogerpon, she's cute and makes comp fags seethe.
>grass type
Fuck, I already have Meowscarada in my team.
Her gimmick is that you have different masks that change her type.
You can make her grass-fire, grass-rock or grass-water type, and after terastilizing she becomes full fire, rock or water.
I see, very nice. She's cute, her design looks kinda "bratty little girl"-like to me.
Yes, she's supposed to be like a little girl.
There's a dynamic in the DLC that's like you are the father, Carmine the mother and Ogerpon the daughter.
One of the two main characters of the SV DLC.
She's a racist country girl who ends up falling for you, and together you accidentally bully her brother to the point of turning him into a school shooter.
>Racist
I don't remember her calling me a nagger. I don't get it
More than racism it's xenophobia, she doesn't like people from outside her region.
Which is understandable because Kitakami's a local community that's being warped and fucked up by tourism thanks to the local legends about Ogerpon and the Loyal Three.
Even if everyone knows the Loyal Three are assholes, they'll still keep the status quo in order because otherwise there's no money to be made.
Carmine loves her brother, she's just too immature to express it properly.
I don't think loudly moaning on his bully's dick is helping the issue.
>bully
Kieran shouldn't have been a creep around Ogerpon.
I love her.
I wouldn't want to touch her regardless. Giant face mole skin cancer cunt. Moles aren't attractive, and beautymarks are still moles, nothing beautiful about them.
low test
>Flavor of the month was quick, huh?
>Flavor of the month was quick, huh?
And yet sword and shield girls are still getting a shit ton of porn.
That's what happens when the character designs are fucking garbage.
its like gen 6 all over again
The artstyle for Scarlet and Violet was really, surprisingly bad. Sword and Shield and Legends were ugly games with awful textures and animations, but the stationary human beings looked good. It was the only thing those games really had going for them, but they fucked it up for no good reason
Gen 5, 7, 8 and 9 were a mistake
Iono is the only SV girl to get any real attention.
she's the only good girl SV has.
>Game only shills and continues to shill to homos and roasties
>Why characters that have zero relevancy don't have thousands of porn
The ironic thing is that when pajeet shills on /vp/ pretend pennis and the man in a suit are totally not garbage and pozzed designs that killed a generation
>thinking relevancy has anything to do with amount of porn
Hex Maniac
Iono, Rika and Nemona have loads of stuff, penny and Juliana have too little for a character with shitloads of spotlight and the fucking MC.
>tfw the fire girl with goofy boots didn't get shit
Man, just why.
she deserved more
she should but her outfit is so boring. Im glad i helped her learn to cook meat sandwiches
nah, it's simple, good and effective
At least what we got was pretty good
Mein Black folks
I need so much more of this dynamic, specifically.
It's not fair bros
>cute girl trying to look tough because she was bullied for being too cute
>somehow she didn't get popular among japs
how
Because she has 5 secs of screentime.
Didn't stop many girls from being popular, not only in pokemon
because she's ugly and wears some hideous boots.
she's pretty, cute and goofy
if her and her friends were more of an active threat in the region then maybe they would be fun to lewd
it really isnt
i mean... theres a lot of meowscarada porn. but girls? yeah its a shame they dont get enough love
Lmao I remember when I said the same thing when it was out for a week and a bunch of shills jumped down my throat,as if that would change the fact that there is factually a massive drop in porn for this gen. Wonder where they all are now?
All of the girls are so obviously made solely to cynically pander to specific audiences that it's actually disgusting.
This
Sada checks so many of my boxes, and yet there's this trashy feeling like she's from a pokemon porn parody and not a real canon character.
>yet there's this trashy feeling like she's from a pokemon porn parody and not a real canon character.
Who was there to make porn of?
>nurse who you won't ever encounter unless you do the optional academy "content" (lmao)
bland fitness instructor
>makeup guru gym leader wearing a triple-layer cake
>two children with ~10 minutes of screentime, and the mature-looking one of the two is wearing an ugly face mask
Porn is only made of characters with unique designs. Sword and Shield had Nessa and Sonia.
and Bea
Penny got a decent amount when she was first announced. Then the game came out and people realized what a boring character she actually was and the porn dried up.
That's what happens when there's only one decent character design in the entire game.
Not that Rika isn't hot but she mostly trives off "genuine" fanart
Best Pokegirl
Rika is a surprisingly popular for such an androgynous design. Especially because a number of her fans appear to be japanese girls. Maybe she's become a "literally me" character.
Japan loves her because despite her professionally attractive look she's just a Kansai dork with a Clodsire for an ace, adding to her dorkiness.
Nah, Japanese girls don't want to be her, they want to marry her. There's an astonishing amount of art from Japanese girls of self-inserting as the female protag to be with Rika.
The designs are safe and extremely unappealing. It was made for the West in mind, and it reflected as such.
designs these days don't get drawn out of genuine interest, they get drawn to follow trends, and once the trend is over you move onto the next trend, it's all about clout-chasing
second, there's nothing to distinguish pokemon's character designs from your average anime or vtuber anymore, and what those offer these days is atrocious. that unique artstyle and design philosophy pokemon once had is completely and utterly gone now
This generation belongs to the fujos, they are losing it over Kieran.
>This generation belongs to the fujos, they are losing it over Kieran.
i actually feel sorry for them, there thing has and will be co opted by the alphabet soup lobby and ruined once again.
What?
>What?
lesbians and gay's in games bring out the twitter mental illness brigade. and half the fun for fujo's is gushing about there pairing online
They are safe in this case because Kieran is too young.
Plus, they are still busy seething about Carmine because she reminds them of their bullies.
>can't handle a textbook tsundere
KWAB
Not even sure how this happened.
>Klara in the previous game
>actual manipulative turbo cunt that would actually ruin your life
>no reaction
>Carmine has some bantz with you
>quickly warms up and actually starts acting sweet with you
>trannies lose it
Those people likely didn't even play SwSh and got onboard with SV because of the overdesigned characters, the kinda shit they love
Carmine hits them where it hurts because she's a nationalist.
Klara appeals to them because she's a malicious attention whore just like them.
DLC2's where things are gonna turn shitty for sure, especially since it's likely a key part of bringing Kieran back to reason is Carmine reconciling with him over how much of a cunt she's been to him over the years.
It's incredibly depressing that corporate products take such a significant role in people's lives.
Get the fuck off Twitter and carve something, draw a fucking picture, write a goddamned short story.
Just anything besides this endless NPC whining about for profit fiction.
Hate this timeline.
every character either looks like a reject from zuck's metaverse or a vtuber wannabe
remember HEX is the most popular ghost trainer of all time.
She looks pretty light to me idk
No but the fight was kino
>caring about pokemon after gen3
Black and White Vores, Digests and then Shits out all other gens.
gimme some bullet point arguments
NTA, but
>Amazing art/character design
>Actually giving a whole new region of mons rather than relying on nostalgiamons
>Cool animation
>Triple Battles are fun
>Last 10/10 Pokemon OST
>More emphasis put into the story, and a well written story tackling Pokemon's biggest meta criticism in a way that feels perfectly natural in universe
>Great and memorable side characters/moments (Ferris Wheel scenes, Charles the Heartbreaker among others)
>Lots of post main-story content
I personally feel Gen 4 was a soulless shitstorm, but Black and White totally brought back what made pokemon special and more. It's shame what happened with BW2.
Oh shit! uhhh...well, okay how about this
-Global Trading System was AMAZING
-Unova region and design was interesting and based off america
-Story was better before it because like playing a baby anime
-animated sprites for all pokemon (finally)
-Genesect and Victini actual good event pokemon
-Seasons and day and night return
-Good Starters
-good post game stuff
last good gen
>Is Pokemon becoming too dark?
>LE DARK FOR CHILDRENS GAME!!!!
Someone already beat me to it
I hate modern spongebob but I will never not laugh at this meme.
HAHA
>wheels not touching the rail
They could've literally died
this meme always proves that people are retarded. it's about contrast, and a completely flat track with a couple minibumps arguably has more contrast than your typical edgy adult game that only consists of drops. having something slightly dark in a Pokémon game is like riding the wild mouse rollercoaster where you're kinda surprised by how hard it throws you into the curves. nobody is surprised when they get on a rollercoaster that is openly a thrill ride.
nagger Pokemon has been way fucking darker than this pozzed shit since the beginning.
>implied slave labor for pokemon
>hypno abducting people
>like every fucking ghost dex entry
Your "omg its le dark now!!!!" is baby shit. Even fucking Pokemon Colessium was darker.
fucking retard. I'm not talking about any specific scene in a Pokémon game, just about how the meme is stupid in how it is applied in general.
The meme applies perfectly to the post its mocking.
Based.
I remember this episode, actual soul.
VINNESTOISE CHADS RISE UP
Yeah nah, Pokemon has always been a franchise for 5 year olds.
It's a different thing if those children grew up to be manchildren and womanchildren.
>Yeah nah
You should go back.
oh my fucking god I think I need to rewatch everything up till orange islands again
I'd include the Orange Islands in your marathon, I think they have a lot going for them. It wasn't until Johto Journeys that the anime started to fuck up.
Also Pokemon 2000 is the best Pokemon movie.
thanks you might be right, I'll see how I feel
i really really really fucking hope this is the last game where they go for this weird ass semi realistic style, it's SO fucking ugly
>Game's Antagonists were a bunch of gangsters who kidnapped pokemon and Abuse them then sold to the black market
>Mewtwo's origin story was him breaking out and and potentially killing scientists
>Pokedex Entries that even more grueling facts about pokemon than what we're shown
>Japanese version had even more explicit references that were toned down
>Perverted old man peeping into Erika's gym.
Pokemon has a history of Mature/Dark themes since the first games came to the market. Needless to say, The modern games isn't even close to Gen 1's level.
Also I want Lorelei to step on my balls
LGPE was a dogshit remake, but my god did they upgrade Lorelei.
>Perverted old man peeping into Erika's gym.
jeez its not like he was jacking off to them outside the window or they were changing in there
Why did you capitalize Abuse
And Antagonists
>Japanese version had even more explicit references that were toned down
Sounds interesting, do you have any examples or know where someone can read about that?
Pokemon abuse is a constant across the games and the pokedex entries for gen 7 in particular are edgy as shit considering it's Pokémon.
>Mega Evolution fuels its brutality, and it may even turn on the Trainer who raised it. It’s been dubbed “the blood-soaked crescent.”
This was their way to try to get us to hate Mega Evolution so they could drop it in the next game
Hottest rival, rivaled only by Bianca
why are the 3d games so fucking ugly? i dont even mean pure graphical fidelity, the art style is awful
The best looking 3D game and the only one with an actual art style is also the worst game.
hon hon hon type roche ;))
>Only Gen 1 mons, not even those pesky gen 2 mons
How is it the worst?
You just described why.
>only gen 1 mons
>pokemon Go catching, no wild battling
>still 1:1 scale with the original (original overworld scale was justified by the chibi overworld sprites, now looks much more jarring)
>super special ace shouldermon who can do everything even if you just want to pet a cute eevee or pikachu
That's how.
i dont know. its not amazing. theres some downsides to it for sure. but worse than sw/sh, arceus, and scar/viol? not in my honest opinion. sw/sh might be a little bit better if only because its the most typical pokemon game
Believe it or not, despite being marketed towards literal babies, Let's Go still lets you off-leash enough to be the most open world Pokemon game until PLA/SV.
lgpe is really not bad
>literal Pokemon Go mechanics for catching mons
LGPE is worse than fucking FRLG
>2018 Switch 3D remake of a Game Boy game
>less features, content and improvements than a 2003 2D remake made for a weak 16Mhz handheld that was noted for being a barebones remake even for the time
Didnt she like sacrifice kids for her research?
>make sexy android gf professor
>game does nothing with it
Isn't she already a mother?
the male professor is basically her husband but they split up/one of them died
I want to fuck her anyway. Why is there no porn?
Do not stick it in robots.
Do stick it in the russy
there is. its just shes kinda boring
I know. JPN people suck at making porn. Even when they draw it.
Was Violet where this plot made little to no sense?
This fight was unironically kino.
I do agree that it's the only good thing that came out of that game. The whole fight and the music was pretty damn good.
Also fascinating, the only viable way to capture pokemon from the "past/future" was using MBs. That's a nice touch.
why are all pokeballs not masterballs? has this ever been explained?
Master balls take too much resources.
Master balls even if don't have a price tag in the games are supposed to be expensive that only the company or super rich people would have. This just makes even more weird for the professor without any resources or outside help to have so many of them...
The professor isn't real.
Spending a moment wondering what Sandy Shocks could be and then seeing caveman Magneton left one hell of an impression on me.
Area Zero is definitely one of the best locations in the franchise.
Same reason why expendable consumer batteries aren't getting much better despite technology evolving at an exponential rate. There's an incentive to keep them at a certain level, and that it so that you'll continue to by more of them.
they are luxury items.
Pretty much nothing is known about him though, all there is about him is some lines of code, a picture that isn't shown fully and a weird plushie.
masterballs are not common knowledge
>You have no idea what he'll send out since its literally from another time
>Neither does he
looks like a gmod screenshot
The graphics are inexcuably awful for a 2022 game, even on Switch. But the idea behind this fight was pretty fucking good for a pokemon game
The whole part of the end game about Area Zero was pure fucking KINO. Toby Fox for sure had a hand in writing it in my opinion aside from the music. It was ao good.
>that moment when it clicks that you have to send out Koraidon/Miraidon
I don't care what anyone says, that part was pure unfiltered kino
?si=87yTWfEOS1M7Efb4
>The whole game was a generic pokemon game except for the dead dog quest
>Postgame sends you to a unique piece of space with heavenly music building up to this kino bossfight
Its definitely a peak in the series as a whole. But I don't think it reaches this:

Reminder: SV sold less than SWSH.
Have a good day.
SV will get memory holed so hard when Gen 10 comes out that won't be funny.
It is the most forgetable gen.

cute but pretty bland in design for a pokemon character
She looks about as extravagantly designed as most game characters if not more so.
yeah but her costume is sorta simple without much theme
Her outfit is theme around a Pyukumuku though.
then wheres the white stuff that comes out?
You underage homosexual there is literally a cemitery in the first gen.
Not dark enough
I want to turn Nessa into a mother.
not dark enough
>canonically cannot find a boyfriend
Are alolans all gay or something?
More like they are all Chads and don't want to deal with bitches.
>kahuna, an island chief

yes, they're gay
Fuck, even lusamine is still single
or they're waiting you
She's basically a magnet for misfortune for any guy that tries to hook up with her because Tapu Lele thinks her being forever alone is hilarious.
>merges with an UB

>oh shit we fight her?
>she throws a pokeball
Her pokemon looking dead inside was a neat feature I guess but I was so disappointed.
That angry clefable was neat
Pokemon Clover has the big bad get into a mecha and pilot it against your team
The mewtwo lore in Cinnabar Island is the darkest thing you'll ever get in Pokémon, sorry kid.
Wait so Sada is dead? No real sada? AI pussy sucks.
Yeah no stinky cavewoman pussy, sorry bro I was bummed too.
always has been.
Don't tell these zoomers about the Mewtwo movie.
Didn't Sabrina have a kinda fucked up origin or something?
That's just in the anime, in the game she's a normal girl
How that doll episode didn't turn her into a giantess fetish bait is a mystery for me
Sabrina has a decent amount of GTS stuff but she's from before that really took off.
Psychics in the Pokemon universe tend to have a pretty hard time because their powers are tied to their emotions so they have to learn to be stoic or else their powers go crazy, and most of them have ruined childhoods because of this.
Ohmori's utterly obsessed with writing his familial trauma into the games, so yeah.
YOU ARE FREE
GO WHEREVER YOU WANT WITH WHEREVER POKEMON YOU LIKE
SOVL
EXCEPT THE GAME IS NOT DESIGN FOR THAT SO YOU WILL END UP EITHER OVERLEVELED OR UNDERLEVELED BECAUSE GAME FREAK IS LAZY TO MAKE THE CHALLENGE LEVEL WITH YOU
>NOOOOOOOOOO THERE IS NO CHALLENGE WHERE IS THE CHALLE-AAAAAAACK
I didn't bother with this sidequest and if I did I'd just one shot him with my level 100s lol
>Duuuuh where is the challenge
>Right here bro
>A-actually I-I d-didn't bother with it h-haha, b-because i'm t-too s-strong haha
nta but I have no idea what that's even about
guess it's a sidequest, but one challenging sidequest (assuming it is) doesn't make up for the rest of the game being a 1-hit slog.
>>A open world game with no level scaling is just plain lazy, anon
Yet people won't ever stop complaining about open world games with it.
Apples and Oranges. Pokémon's gameplay is much more linear than, say, Skyrim or Oblivion because it's turn-based, which is why it needs level scaling more than those games.
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet is the white man’s Pokemon game
>we don't want to be held accountable for our terrible design anymore
>now it's your own fault when the game is paced like shit AND we're off the hook for designing interesting overworlds
When will this """design philosophy""" finally die?
Who are you quoting fucktard
Game Freak.
And whatever team within Nintendo works on Zelda.
They never said that retard nagger
Nemonass
Alright lets go to the point...which pokemon could you actually beat in a fight 1 on 1, human vs pokemon, realistically speaking?
Most stage one or baby pokemon should be weaker or have the same human strength. The only real problem with pokemon are their "magic" attacks that can fuck you up
Kinda fucked up that Nemona has rich parents and is able to do whatever she wants while Arven had one parent walk out on him and the other is an obsessed professor and when tried to visit them his closest friend was nearly killed and did everything he can to help them recover since its all he has
Nothing but zoomers in this fucking thread.
Colosseum wasn't exactly dark just an edgy shonen wetdream.
>We want the Final Fantasy audience
>dark
>bad guys do kidnappings and harass pokemon as a genuine crime empire instead of an autistic group of criminals, and that's kind of it
not quite the same as a character having been explicitly murdered and replaced with an evil android that is now intent on murdering you too
>Is Pokemon becoming too dark?
t. never read the manga
Please note that no one actually dies in any of these scenes. The worst that happens is that Zinnia becomes a cripple.
Fug stabbing Zinnia is probably the darkest Pokemon has ever gotten since Pokemon aren't allowed to be portrayed harming humans. Also probably the only time blood has appeared in the franchise.
I can't believe Itskuki did this to S.E.E.S.
The only good thing the manga ever did was turn May into a feral, half naked slut that will constantly try to bite you.
I've always found PM Special incredibly underwhelming for the amount of hype it gets as the "main" Pokemon manga. Never read anything beyond the Kanto stuff though. Electric Tale of Pikachu will always be the best though.
festival of champions for the good shit
Did he die?
take a guess
there are at least two deaths in the series
I'm not even sure what the fuck I'm looking at. Awful art.
Muttova homosexuals be like
Hello, MuttSchizo.
an empty horizontal plane is not "explorable space", since there's nothing to find in it
might as well be playing pixelmon then, the explorable space in that is infinite so that must mean it's a better game?
Holy cope
Back to your corridors fucktard
Very nice, I've been waiting for another Pokémon schizo thread.
So is it okay for him to fuck her now?
Are you ready for the Indigo Dick?
Yes, I'm ready to have rough sex with Carmine while Kieran listens to her sisters moans in the next room.

Don't want to beat a dead horse here, but damn this gen definitely has the worst starters. Just look at them, they look so stupid and out of place.
Fuck no, 3rd and 8th gen are tied for the worst ones.
I literally couldn’t name or even remember the general looks of starters from gen 4 to gen 8
Gen 9 is the first gen since eons that has actually iconic starters, yes even the homosexual duck
I like the cat because I want to fuck her.
i like her for the fantasy of seeing it get mated in art
I wonder what's gonna happen with Kieran.
I replayed Teal Mask and it's funny how he has these schizo ticks where he suddenly looks like he wants to murder you the moment his Pokemon suffer any damage.
A mother doing this makes ZERO sense that’s why Violet is better
Imagine if Pokémon continued developing with 2d sprites instead of 3d, honing the craft by the Switch era.
Looks lame, if I'm buying a Switch to play Pokémon I expect realistic graphics like Revolutions
I hope we never get another game that follows the god awful anime
I've been into Batman lately and I cannot read Carmine's name without thinking of Falcone.

How do you respond without sounding mad?
Oh, alright. I wasn't gonna come anyway because me and my new wife Ogerpon were going to consummate our cemented bond by fucking her raw for several nonstop hours in order to lavish her with the love and attention she's so desperately craved ever since her friend died all those centuries back.
There's no hard feelings from either of us so do be kind and congratulate us if she gets pregnant, OK?
>my wife Ogerpon

I just rip out his giant neck mole and jam it into one of his eyes.
Wasn't your protag about to be brutally killed by Getshis in BW2?
Lets be honest Pokemon being dark isn't an issue, we had pokemon die on screen and it was incredibly kino
Pokemon got resurrected with Scarlet/Violet

Nobunaga's Ambition
That franchise had a crossover with Pokemon (Pokémon Conquest) so it doesn't count
I need something that gives me the image of a gamer who hates everything Pokémon
The saddest thing about this revelation is that the AI was a better parental figure to Arven than the real one was.
maushold.
Who is the mom and who is the dad
Look at the darker colored sections. Dad wears the pants, mom wears the bra.
Kek I wasn't expecting an actual answer. They both look like dudes
What is the mouse for the person who hates pokemo and also hates Disney?
I want an anti-pokemon and anti-Disney mouse
maushold is for fun havers
>mfw King's Rock Population Bomb
I hate pokemon (and I also hate disney)
but I want a mouse that is anti-pokemon and that is also an anti-disney mouse
Oh wow I will definitely try to use it on my next playthrough once the DLC comes out, looks fun.
I can't believe they just named a Pokemon FourMouses
Im honestly surprised they didnt just make missingno an official pokemon by now just to bait nostalgia bux
That's because MissingNo. as we know it only exists in the western version of Gen 1, the glitch wasn't nearly as popular in Japan and it had an entirely different set of forms and quirks.
Hm, that makes sense I suppose
Genwunners are hardly a thing in Japan yet that hasn't stopped Game Freak from pandering to western genwunners over and over again.
Lana's mom is best.

Based taste.

idk why this detail in particular is so hot
They are just showing how they became moms.

That doesn't line up with the /vp/ I browsed like 3 years ago. Surely they didn't actually like these new games.
What fanfiction world do you people live in? /vp/ literally cries nonstop about the new games to the point the board is actually unusable.
Nah they seriuosly say that "You have to raise your pokemon with love and care" and "Poorfags don't deserve to compete in pokemon tournies. It is so fucking bourgeoisie that it is the only thing here that legitimately pisses me off.
what a shame.
any criticism of the new games is immediately spammed to death

POKEMON BATTLES ON MOTORCYCLES!
at least Yu-Gi-Oh! isn't dead
Pokémon officially died on October 12, 2013.
what do we think of blueberry's E4?
All are shit character designs.
Pretty meh to be honest, generation 9's trainer designs are among the most boring, generic and samey in the entire franchise, and it's not even the uniforms (Tough they are a problem too), nobody stands out, the Elite Four in particular was really whatever, not a single design on the level of Lance, Drake, Shauntal, Malva or Acerola.
>still no game featuring all regions and all gimmicks at once
I really wouldn't call it "dark" even by Pokemon standards. Team Rainbow Rocket had you basically send every previous Team leader to their dooms in the timeline where they won (which would end up getting them killed), which is kinda fucked up.
You now remember the Bogdanoffs
Quick rundown?
>The Stones bow to Sordward and Shielbert
>In contact with Ultra-Beasts
>Possess psychic-type abilities
>Control Galar with an iron but fair fist
>Own gyms & pokecenters globally
>Direct descendants of AZ's ancient royal blood line
>Will bankroll the first cities in Ultra Space (SordShielgrad will be be the first city)
>Own 99% of pokemon breeding research facilities on Earth
>First designer baby pokemon will in all likelihood be Sordward and Shielbert babies
>both brothers said to have 215+ IQ, such intelligence on Earth has only existed deep in Celestic Town monasteries & the Unknown Dungeon
>Ancient Unova scriptures tell of two angels who will descend upon Earth and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented technological progress with them
>They own Pokeball R&D labs around the world
>You likely have pokebots inside you right now
>Sordward and Shielbert are in regular communication with the Legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta, forwarding the word of Arceus to the Pokemon League. Who do you think set up the meeting between the Ghetsis & the Elite Four? (First meeting between the two in over 3 generations) and arranged the Champion's first trip to Mt. Coronet in history literally a few days later to the Sordward and Shielbert bunker in the Wild Area?
>They learned fluent Kalosian in under a week
>Nation states entrust their pokedollar reserves with the twins. There's no gold in Ft. Delphox, only Ft. Sordward
>The twins are about 8 generations old, from the space-time reference point of the base human currently accepted by our society
>In reality, they are timeless beings existing in all points of time and space from the big bang to the end of the universe.
Hey I liked these guys. They're stupid and short-sighted, but also pretty funny. I mean, just look at them.
Game starring Ash when
Never, because then that game could "finish" his journey leaving him unable to be brought back without a full reboot.
They're keeping him on standby in case it's vogue to return to the old anime formula, we'll have to see how things play out once Horizons has its run.
Ash is a fucking loser, why would I want to play as him?
So you can self insert, loser
hehehe
Watch your tone or I'll tell your grandpa your name is butts again.
Why the fuck couldn't they have retired him back when the franchise still had potential for a good anime?
Deviating from the status quo is horrifying for boomers, especially japanese ones.
It's really amazing how much they fumbled that
Having him win in XY would have genuinely been the perfect ending to him
They should've retired him after Johto and cycled through new protagonists for each gen.
>AI shit
stay in your containment thread
Never hopefully you had Yellow
Is simple death too dark?
Never watch old Disney movies, pussy.
>Never watch old Disney movies, pussy.
fuck i miss when we had good shit like the black cauldron and secret of nimh at the time i thought it was mid but a troll in central park is great by today's standards..
This, people pivot to this to claim that SV is dark but there's death in most games, Cubone's mother, the fuckton of people Kyogre and Groudon likely killed, all those explorers who died in the wild in Hisui, all the people who got frozen by Team Plasma in Opelucid, all the idiots in Team Flare's hideout when Lysandre an heroe'd, the islanders who got brutalized by the Ultra Beasts, the people and pokemon who got trampled during the second Darkest Day.
>team flare is all dead
>Lysander is implied to be immortal in X after the gigabeam shit and is pinned under a mountain of boulders and steel, unable to die
is implied to be immortal in X
where
Does he not stand in some immortal beam from Xerneas before it all comes crumbling down?
That line of dialogue isn't even half as dark as the population in Sword and Shield.
>UK
>Pajeets everywhere
Makes sense.
Also, kinda based that Leon and Hop's dad colonized a pajeeta making her kids far lighter than she is.
And because you can pick the race of your character to me the whole thing is an ode to an aryan boy reclaiming the land, humiliating Leon and sending Rose to jail.
This was after hours of the usual "friendship! new perspectives! battling :D" shit.
I hate it when anime characters look like they need two hours every morning to style their hair
have normal fucking hair for fuck sake
Anime character designed just have a type of girl, and that's a good thing.

homosexual.
Carmine and Kieran's case is just a combination of the inner hair dye trend that's currently popular in Japan, and reptilian motives.
The reptilian eyes, the crossed bangs resembling a snake's forked tongue and the hair tips also representing a snake tongue.
Not sure why they went specifically with snakes, though.
>the very first pokemon in her lineup is a male Hypno.
surely game freak knows.
>incomprehensible bizarre creature that warps and corrupts the world around it
Canon Missingno when
They've been trying since gen 7, first with Necrozma, then with Eternatus in gen 8 and now with Terapagos and the whole tera phenomenon.
Terapagos is too cutesy for that.
But so far it is the most reality-bending of the three.
Sure, but we don't know what its full power form looks like aside from the sketch Heath made, and that seems to match the sense of grandiose scale we've come to expect.
It's funny how much they went with the cute Pokemon in the DLC after Calyrex unnerved and probably prevented sales of the DLC by being a weird, unnerving abomination.
Pokémon Legends set in Unova in the late 1800s of the Pokémon setting. at the end your character learns they’re one sixteenth Galarian!
>attacks the player
The truth is, Legends Arceus is the peak soul of Pokemon.

I miss when legendaries were mysterious, bordering on creepy.
I have a theory that UBs were supposed to emulate the original feeling of "legendaries might be something else entirely" they once gave.
The whole thing of traveling to planets thousands of light years away was great, but wish they had made it more than just tiny areas.
I miss when legendaries were more than mascots or plot devices for the villains
Those are still around, there's the new regis in SWSH, or those four in SV that you need to find keys to unlock their caves.
