Is it possible to make any profit in tf2 anymore?
I don't mind spending a few bucks, but I've seen videos of trading guides from years ago where you could earn a few keys starting from basically nothing. The current trading scene seems pretty much over unless you're trading with unusuals worth at least 30 keys or using automated bots.
bots killed it
most people don't want the bother and are willing to spend a couple of extra scrap to get something instantly
Eh, so basically it's not worth to look into unless I want to turn it into full time and starting with a big investment?
I've seen people suggesting to use auctions on scrap.tf, but in weeks that hasn't made me over 5 refined, so..
Guess I'll settle with the weekly refined minimum wage, then
trading is shit because trader mains keep hoarding everything and it's impossible to turn a profit unless you're a trader main
the only purpose team fortress and counter strike trading serves is as a means of laundering money via steam gift cards and third party websites that buy items
The only people left with anything valuable in TF2 are going to play it until they die and aren't interested in selling, so as unusuals/australiums/whateverthefuck keep getting bought out by these types of people the market becomes smaller and smaller. The days of starting from a craft hat and sharking your way up to a burning unusual are long gone.
TF2 is dead and so is trading
you should had been there 12 years ago
Nope. Your only hope was to get in early before all the higher ups formed and fixed the prices so only THEY get profit.
Sure as shit shooting they'll be the ones to cash out earliest, and if they do, THEN TF2 dies.
I wonder if there's a TF2 1%, and if so who are they?
>I wonder if there's a TF2 1%, and if so who are they?
C'mon anon let's be real.
From what I heard tho it's less israelites and more "Oligarch's children".
At least those would be the only people realistically able to buy a $4k Gold Pan.
>Oligarch's children
I mean, yeah, if you have that amount of money to burn on some pixels on a screen that's the only reasonable solution.
>Max's Severed Head
This reminded me that the other day I was talking with a friend on discord, and he mentioned having fun playing the Poker Night at the Inventory series, so I asked him if he could family share it. But then he told me he had it for the Xbox. Gdi.
I once spent an entire day of my fucking life sequentially trading up from a strange pair of apocafists to a schadenfreude, like the paperclip guy. So that generated like $2 of profit for me after hours of work. That should tell you how lucrative TF2 trading is.
>pajeet ruined cosmetics
>it's ok if the cosmetic is shit because it's a all-class with a cool effect, it will sell me millions
>yes i love warpaints please more kink flags please.
>good morning sir, i want your steam account
them and compnaggers ruined tf2
>mfw I remember unboxing a rather festive tree with burning flames and then immediately selling it for 8 refs because that was the max. amount of items you were able to trade back in the day.
At least I'm glad I don't bother with stocks and crypto. I wouldn't be a good trader.
Dude, early on I gave away a Max's Severed Head to a random kid cuz I felt bad for them not having their own hat.
I'm still kicking my ass 10 years later over it.
was this on the golden machine gun servers???
Oh no no no no.
I got it from pre-ordering Sam and Max Season 3, this was right when Trading was still fresh.
Yes I am retarded.
i mean did you trade it to someone playing on the golden machine gun community servers?
Daily reminder Mannconomy was a mistake.
what's the alternative?
>make profit
>profit is steam credit
being this nerdtarded
I didn't mean it as a side hustle, more like some keys for free cosmetics.
You really shouldn't have any concern for cosmetics in this game.
I mean, I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with loadouts, I don't have a particular interest in unusuals either. I just like to have the weapons I use the most in strange/killstreak quality.
But yeah, I see your point, whether you have a 900 keys inventory or a f2p one is all the same in the end
Yes, be free. Be a completely default class, play reasonably well and then get kicked for hacking.
>be free
Ok, saying f2p was a stretch. I have a premium account and some cosmetics anyway so it doesn't concern me.
On that note tho is annoying asf when I play with friend who is f2p and gets kicked for more or less no reason every other game we play.
You have to pay to enter it, and bots with auctions have replaced most of it. CS Go trading is better
People sell stuff through paypal.
Blame the ADD SWEETENER PLZ homosexuals in trade servers. Because of that they invented instant bot trading that lets you pay exactly for what you want.
You'd can probably make like a $1 of profit after hours of trading. And that's alot of time and electricity wasted.
It wasn't profitable even way back in 2014.
You are going to net more profit from a minimum wage job than trying for hours to shark unusual owners. runescape gold farmer type behavior.
