Is there a list out there of PS2 games that had good PAL conversions?

Is there a list out there of PS2 games that had good PAL conversions? I know there's a list of PAL60 games, but iirc some 50hz games ran at full speed - or close enough.

50hz conversions aren't worth bothering with. They often had extra input lag and other problems.

Just use freedvd boot, burn the patches isos to verbatim discs and ntsc copies work perfectly on ps2

Gonna be honest with you anon, I don't care enough to do all of that. I'll just emulate the NTSC versions of games that don't have a PAL60 option.

    is there a reason?

European versions usually come out last and sometimes feature additional bugfixes or even extra content.

Definitely the case for SoulCalibur III with the 2.0 release. Supports PAL60, has additional tweaks bringing it a bit closer to the arcade version and gets rid of a bug that could potentially corrupt your save file.

Forgot to add, it also retains all the pervy/weird accessories in the create a fighter mode, NTSC release got rid of them because think of the chillums.

Whoa, thanks for the info. Gotta replace Soul Caliburs on my PS2 hard drive with PAL versions.

Almost all pal games run at full speed, notable exceptions are early capcom games and some jarpigs.
    As for 60hz support:

You can emulate PAL games more easily on devices like the Retroid Pocket 3+

Both 50 and 25 fps are closer to cinematic frame rates technically

Not really, just roll with PAL60, use this list:

...sometimes it's down, but Google has a cached copy.

Beyond that, there's a few games that have more content in PAL releases (Everybody's Golf as an example has the biggest character roster), your best bet is to go through the titles that interest you one by one using TCRF's website and checking the regional differences tab.

Some games back in the PSX era were optimized for PAL (anything by Naughty Dog) or ran better on it (Hogs of War), but for PS2 that's not nearly as much of a case.

So yeah, PAL60 is your best bet and if a given game doesn't support it, check the differences between the PAL and NTSC releases.

The PAL version of Ico is the definitive English release. 60hz and the best box art.

I don't think it's out there. I wish I could get a list for each console. PAL has more vibrant colours as well.

I know the PAL version of the FFX-2 has been optimised:

I remember there was a big backlash in Europe over FFX not being optimized and running 16.7% slower.

    >FFX PAL is the International version translated
    >Nothing gameplay wise was optimized for 50hz except the FMV cutscenes..
Whyy did they even bother goddamn morons, if they didn't do it then just forcing 60hz would be fine .

Still the most bizarre PAL half optimization is Saturn Resident Evil.
      >gameplay and FMV are just slowed down with borders
      >In game cutscenes are optimized for 50hz
      Just absurd

Apart from the PAL60 list already posted here, nobody compiled such a list because no one gives a shit. But most games released after 2001 were optimised for 50hz, some of them apparently run even better at 50fps than the NTSC versions. Rhythm games might be a problem because of timings but there's like 4 of them released in Europe.
