Is there ANY reason at all to use Ryujinx now that yuzu has online multiplayer?

whats the difference between yuzu and ryujinx? is it a code thing or is it just autistic rivalry?
One is made using C++ the other on C#. A couple of years ago there were more differences in functionality, Ryujinx had upscaling and online while Yuzu did not but the latter used to have better performance. Nowadays both are great and do everything
one works better than the other for certain games, but yeah it'd be better if they just worked together
With Ryujinx you just enable multiplayer in settings and that's it. Start a game and you're in.
On yuzu you have to find and join a room that supports your game, with each game being split into like 10 rooms for some reason, so you'll have maybe 10-15 people online at once, and then if you look at the room list most people won't even be in-game.
They both use the same save format right? I started a save for MHGU on ryu but if a bigger community develops there I might switch.
Yeah you can
I'd rather emulate than get screwed over again (Wii-U)
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I bought the Wii U since people constantly shilled the idea of
>oh the Wii U is a good buy because it has the games not on PC that are novel and fun
and while somewhat true, the amount of must-buys was frightfully low while the rest were fun but only okay. Would've just lived with it being a disappointment but not outright bad purchase, but then Cemu starting to rise in compatibility real quickly, and while BOTW delivered on being the killer app that tied the catalog together, it was on PC with 60FPS in about a year.
So if that's gonna happen, it's better to just focus on emulation instead, and the jerking off just comes from sharing news about their progress and being intrigued in it.
I got the Wii U- and later in its lifecycle. Still had tons of fun and the first party output was quite good.
I really don't get why you guys jerk off so much about emulation.
Emulation is great, what's not to jerk off about?
>Free
>Hacks and mods can be applied to just about anything
>Games are preserved on PC eternally
I bought the original Mario 3D World full price for their failed tablet console and I sure as hell wasn't going to do it again just to play Bowser's Fury.
Are you dumb? You can mod the games to add better shadows, textures, LoD, widescreen, uncap FPS, etc.
The Switch's output resolution ranges from barely acceptable to downright abysmal. If you want something like BOTW in 4K this is the only option.
I don't want to get a job, so I emulate. Just like everyone else.
Because the Switch is an irredeemable piece of junk with a decade old outdate processor which has a frickton of games jailed to their garbage ecosystem.
Emulations provides the best experience of those games without being locked to whatever Nintendo decides on their infinite moronic wisdom.
Cute excuse.
free games haha
>poorgays
>tinkernerds who just like to tinker
>bitter social rejects who will steal everything they can get away with to get back at the sheeple
>nintendo is assraping sony so hard this is how snoys cope
>assblasted and delusional vitagays who still blame nintendo for sonys frickups
>segaboomers still stuck in their 90s console wars
>someone who's bitter towards nintendo for any other reason yet still cannot resist playing their games(their favorite youtuber got dmcad, nintendo sued them for their mario birthday party, etc.)
Pick one
For noobs: L1+R1 and L3 (or LB+RB+Right Stick) at menu to turn on LAN mode.
Lan mode has the best connection, wireless will have random communication errors, while LAN mode won't.
>thanks for patreons for bugtesting
do yuzugays really PAY to do beta testing
>Online multiplayer
>Clearly says local wireless
Pathetic.
>You play the games online with other people
Thus, online play
Switch games on Switch include different multiplayer options. For Splatoon it offers online AND local multiplayer, each with their own content.
This mode is just the local multiplayer content, but the other player can be anywhere on the globe using emulation.
As for the online multiplayer content, it's simply NOT EMULATED. It was at some point, but behind closed source clients and server side code and a specialized emulator fork that violated GPL (which yuzu's devs used to whine about so much when attacking other developers) and THEY CHARGED MONEY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE competing with Nintendo's, costing more than it, and covering only three games with buggy support.
The people actually doing the work for backing up server-side content (Pretendo project) panicked and publicly denounced that, and announced they would be ending their project to avoid getting associated with this ensuing shitshow. Audiences were livid about that greed that went far beyond the scummy early access stuff (and constantly attacking fork authors) and the yuzu team realized they flew too close to the sun and nobody would miss them if Nintendo just sued their asses, so they had a fall guy resign from the project and said it was all his idea, with everything from the project never making it to the main project.
Now that yuzu poisoned the well for online multiplayer emulation, it will take a while for that feature to be emulated, and when it does it will be by ryujinx and much later than it should be (near the console's end of life, when some online games will be already forever lost)
It's not as bad as it could have been (like the Nintendo DS / DSi which was only one emulator holding the scene back, or the 3DS made by much of the same people behind yuzu) since there's actual competition now. Be thankful Ryujinx exists and is as good as it is right now, just see what yuzu developers were telling Citra users, they were hostile to all sorts of basic quality of life features.
>Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have free multiplayer day one on Emulators
Based
i read that splatoon 3 is broken on yuzu
How active is the multiplayer on emulators? On my hacked switch lan play is pretty dead, and even when i find people to play with its a total crapshoot, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt
Screencap from just now. Depends on the game, but MK8 is the most played.
Nice cope
How is enjoying the console cope? The asynchronus multiplayer stuff is fantastic. The first Splatoon game was on the console, the first Mario Maker with a great interface launched on it, the Zelda remake and BotW playable from the gamepad even without a TV, 3D World, Smash, Nintendo Land and all of its fun minigames. It's an excellent buy. It even had a more active first party release schedule than the PS4 and XOne during its lifetime. It's just the 3rd party support that wasn't great, which I don't care about.
>How is enjoying the console cope?
The cope is not assfricking Nintendo right back for killing the Wii-U. I'll never pay for another Nintendo product in my life.
>The asynchronus multiplayer stuff is fantastic.
Yeah it would be great if more games supported it. ZombiU VS was great, but the Wii-U died too early for the best takes on the async multiplayer idea.
It's the only console where those experiences can really be had on the same hardware. Nintendoland, 3D World to an extent, Rayman Legends, NSMBU, Game & Wario. Even Star Fox Zero has those elements. Fantastic stuff. Not only that, but the Wii U is effectively qualified to be a Nintendo Legacy console: it's equipped to play any software from the history of the company including DS/3DS stuff thanks to the two screens. The fact that they supported it so long after the thing was battered by low sell-through was appreciable.
I think the Switch is great, and I enjoy the software we get on it, but the Wii U had a format that lent itself to very unique software in the home console space that can't be directly adopted by its successor, so I think that it maintains a lot of value on its own terms.
im getting unable to join or when i play it im disconnected, why?
Did you change your network settings in the emulator menu? It should be internet or wifi
*Ethernet
yea it's ethernet. sometimes the game works but sometimes im getting this error before match or in match.
I'm not sure the cause. I've had games where we go the whole game and nobody crashes using wireless, then other games where nearly everybody disconnects at the start.
If that's Mario Kart 8, I recommend L1+R1 and L3 (or LB+RB+Right Stick) at menu to turn on LAN mode. I haven't had a disconnect when using LAN mode. Warning though: It puts you in a different matchmaking queve, so you need to inform chat about it.
I played a couple of rounds of MK8 with the latest DLC patch (for free of course), shit was fun as frick. No stutters and no disconnects at all. Miles better than shitty Ryujinx. Might download Smash and Mario Party
Tell me how to easily install Yuzu on different folder/drive than C: and I'll consider using Yuzu again.
>Doesn't know how to do portable
NGMI, spic
how about cemu? it's about time to implement that
So let me guess, Yuzu just stole the code, right?
Is there anyway to play Smash Bros online or do I have to join one of those rooms?
