This. After clearing the base game, you basically need to have chaosbringer cheesemode on until you have minimum viable, content appropriate gear. So either you suffer from terrible sponges that instakill you or you make yourself unkillable.
You dont need a cheesemode for any part of the game the fuck are you on about? If you are mechanically good you can beat every single stage on max difficulty and dragon trials without armor skills. You can make cheese builds even before finishing the base game, but that doesnt mean that its somehow impossible to play without them.
And? I still want to get them all to 100 before I get to the DLC content. I'm really enjoying stuff I didn't even try the first time I played. I had a thing that worked and I got good at it. This time I'm learning way more about the game and having a great time.
Im just saying that you have a long way to go if you want to learn every job and the game explodes with possibilities with the DLCs. Dont worry too much about it, just enjoy the game.
Almost finished my second playthrough. I still have a bunch of jobs to master. I want to get mastery in all of them before I reach the DLC content.
The rng loot is mostly meaningless. Just interpret them as craftables and move on. All items are based on a chasis and most of the rng of an item can be easily and readily altered with minimal grind. You're just a busta.

>makes Street Fighterlikes when fighting games were hype >makes DMClikes when hack n slash were hype >makes Soulslikes when it was hype >makes Sekirolike when it's hype >makes Ghost of Tsushimalike when it's hype
and they can't even do it right. Nioh 2 is the best attempt of this sorry ass developer
This. After clearing the base game, you basically need to have chaosbringer cheesemode on until you have minimum viable, content appropriate gear. So either you suffer from terrible sponges that instakill you or you make yourself unkillable.
Lol, lmao. I've never done this. >play a single level at extremely high dif relative to your current >use loot from that level to either replay that level at higher dif or another one >get to DLC extremely quickly, especially because getting loot for a certain level means you can smith it and can raise your custom gear up right away
You just suck. It's not difficult at all until the DLC. That shit is a bit much.
Depends. Did you like Nioh 1&2 ?
It's pretty fun from a FF spin-off perspective. You get jobs you can change into, you get a decent cast, not-so retarded plot. Best of all you get to wear Garlands armor and weapon (sadly, last DLC only but still)
Are they setting it up that every FF game spawns from time loops from the first game? I haven't played this yet but I know that all of the 14 dungeons are basically primordial versions of games 1-14.
I really want XVII to have some from software level obstructionist lore that implies this hidden in the game somewhere.
2 of those are from the 90s, not from the last 15 years, and i still think remake was really garbage, not because of the story changes but more because of all the tedious fetch-questing and meandering around dungeons that really should have been like a quarter of the length. that games really was 5 hours of game stretched out over 50
as for triangle strategy, haven't played it
Trials was a complete 3D remake
I’ll give you live a live if you really want to be nit picky
But I don’t know how you like strangers if you think remake was a fetch quest

Anonymous
i don't, in fact my response to the OP questions was "not really", i still think it's better than remake
Base game was good but I didn’t really enjoy the DLC difficulty. Enemies felt like HP blobs who hit like a truck unless you went for very specific builds to instagib them which relies on RNG gear drops.
Base game was kino though.
If you like Nioh and FF you'll like it. If you only like Nioh probably too. If you dislike Nioh but like FF you probably will not enjoy this either.
Anyway, like Nioh it's a decent enough action game with nice aesthetics, terrible narrative (althoug much funnier than Nioh), and utterly garbage Skinner box character progression that anyone with a working brain just ignores thanks to cheat engine.
There's no reason not to just press optimise until you have a job you're sticking with, mastery points, and a build you want to pursue - to be honest family.
I don't like how people meme him as muh epic chaos killing dude when he's literally mind controlled to do so. The game is out we don't need to still meme the false narrative from the trailers
But he literally is an epic chaos killing dude. Becoming chaos doesn't change that. He wanted to destroy the darkness so bad he became it to destroy it from the inside. That's LITERALLY who he is. He was a kid who believed in Santa, learned he wasn't real then seethed so hard be decided to become Santa to prove everyone wrong.
Did you miss all of the major plot reveals in the final act of the game, how every Stranger that is dropped into the world by the Lufenians is memory wiped and implanted with an uncontrollable impulse to Kill Chaos because Chaos is an uncontrollable element of their simulation, and that by choosing to become Chaos Jack is committing the ultimate act of defiance despite knowing that he cannot exact revenge himself, needing to use his powers of the uncertain to train up a Warrior of Light to defeat the Lufenians by posturing as a villain within the simulation?
The ENTIRE reason Jack was so meme-worthy in trailers and the first 5ish hours of the game is because he was being heavily mindfucked to forget who he really is and be a one-track-mind lapdog that eliminates inconveniences for the elites.

The WoL were just the cherry on top. Imagine accusing others of poor media literacy despite failing to comprehend that Jack harnessing Darkness into Chaos has already severed the world for Lufenian influence.
Also you confuse Chaos and Darkness. >forget who he really is
A willing participant of the Strangers Program who eventually came to feel fondly for the world he was abusing and horrified at his handler's treatment of himself and other Strangers? Baseline Jack still existed to fight darkness once Lufenia forced it out into the open. I see nothing wrong with the memes and personally find them enjoyable and nostalgic.
I only played it because it's a team ninja game and I was expecting nioh-tier gameplay. Not gonna lie but I was very reticent about playing it due to it being a final fantasy story.
Thankfully the game makes it very clear that it doesn't matter shit for the first few hours of the game, meaning that you have all the time to take in the story passively while trying to master the combat system.
I played it solo jack on hard and I had a blast and you do end up caring about the story in the end. Haven't done the DLC though as I'm still waiting for a good deal to buy it on steam.
The best of the Nioh-likes but also has the worst gear grind of the bunch come postgame & DLC. If you like tweaking and replacing your gear constantly for the reward of being absolutely fucking insane in terms of abilities when you leave the menus and go back to the game then you'll love it. Top 2 game of last year.
Other than the meme moments no. The gameplay is the same as Nioh, with the same stupid loot system Koei is obsessed with these days, and the story just as garbage as in Nioh. Except instead of expecting you to know jap history to fill in the blanks it expects you to know FF1 lore.
SoP is the only Final Fantasy game I've ever hit credits on and I liked it more than the other games in its style (Wo Long being the worst one of the bunch but still alright).
KILL
CHAOS!
It's kind of jank in some regards, but yes.
It's pretty fun but the loot elements do drag it down

Bullshit.
?t=40
I adore the Nioh games but the way they handled the loot in SoP compared to Nioh 1 and 2 is way worse.
unironically the best FF story since SNES era and the best combat system of all nioh type games
yikes
great game. loot and meaningless RPG stat bullshit ruin it.
the fucking framedrops are too much aswell. the forest area tanks.
Almost finished my second playthrough. I still have a bunch of jobs to master. I want to get mastery in all of them before I reach the DLC content.

Anon, the DLCs up the jobs level to 300, and the jobs themselves get sidejobs that also need leveling
And? I still want to get them all to 100 before I get to the DLC content. I'm really enjoying stuff I didn't even try the first time I played. I had a thing that worked and I got good at it. This time I'm learning way more about the game and having a great time.
CHAOS
Stop hitting yourself.
I miss chaosposting
>makes Street Fighterlikes when fighting games were hype

>makes Ghost of Tsushimalike when it's hype
and they can't even do it right. Nioh 2 is the best attempt of this sorry ass developer
>Duuuuuuurrrr
>least desperate ps5 snoykek
>ps5
All their games are on pc
retard
Yeah, it's great. And Neon is cute.
Unironically top 3 most fun games I've played this year
I love it
its the real ff16
there is no real 16, final fantasy ended at the real 13, lost odyssey
cope
>woah, retards gave it an award! now my opinion is validated by other people!
>the real 13, lost odyssey
This fucking meme again, only spouted by secondaries who didn't play either.
Lost Odyssey was garbage as well, only redeeming feature was the short stories. The rest was painfully cheap and generic.
I’m still going through it myself but it’s I’ve found it quite fun despite feeling a bit too easy
DLC will get your ass in gear.
Lol, lmao. I've never done this.
>play a single level at extremely high dif relative to your current

It could have been so much more amazing if the dungeons weren't so generic
yeah it's kino
i platinumed it just so i can say i platinumed every final fantasy game. it was ok as a dungeon crawler but ultimately pretty stupid
It's real fucking good.
real ff16
Hi Barry
only act 3 of DQ11 was garbage
act 3 is optional post-game, i didn't even finish it
dq always has crap post-game
Depends. Did you like Nioh 1&2 ?

Jack OWARI DA’ing at the beat drop hasn’t gotten old yet
It's turbokino but loot is fucking garbage.
>ps4 drive busted
FUCK I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE DAMN FUCKING GAME CHAOS
Are they setting it up that every FF game spawns from time loops from the first game? I haven't played this yet but I know that all of the 14 dungeons are basically primordial versions of games 1-14.
I really want XVII to have some from software level obstructionist lore that implies this hidden in the game somewhere.
not really but it's leagues better than anything square has made in the last 15 years
>DQ11
oh yeah, i don't really think of dq as being square-related, i specifically meant like final fantasy and other squaresoft franchises
>triangle strategy
>trials of mana
>live-a-live
Also FF7 remake is good in spite of the weird story decisions they’re making
2 of those are from the 90s, not from the last 15 years, and i still think remake was really garbage, not because of the story changes but more because of all the tedious fetch-questing and meandering around dungeons that really should have been like a quarter of the length. that games really was 5 hours of game stretched out over 50

dq11 is fucking garbage
Fuck no

its cool but the pc optimisation is nonexistent, i couldnt play it with a rtx 3070
Absolute fucking kino
hows the pc version? i have a 3070ti
Hot garbage
Yes.
It's pretty fun, you might like it.
base game? extremely, DLCs? not so much
Once you've got high affinity gear and enough levels to make mastery points mean something, the DLCs are great for mindlessly mowing down enemies.
still way too grindy for my taste
I tried the demo and saw a fuckload of loot in just the tutorial level, and I think I just hit the optimize button cause there was so much shit.
There's no reason not to just press optimise until you have a job you're sticking with, mastery points, and a build you want to pursue - to be honest family.
Game is great, but you really need to have the DLC to enjoy it to the fullest. just use a DLC unlocker or something
Did you ever play God Eater or the multitude of clones on PSP, it's like that
Yes.
Worst part about it is the loot vomit, apart from that it's very fun with a kino story and Jack being the best FF protagonist ever.
I don't like how people meme him as muh epic chaos killing dude when he's literally mind controlled to do so. The game is out we don't need to still meme the false narrative from the trailers

Total Lufenian Death btw

Absolutely. Guano genocide best day of my life.
I only played it because it's a team ninja game and I was expecting nioh-tier gameplay. Not gonna lie but I was very reticent about playing it due to it being a final fantasy story.

>solo jack
Any benefit or reward for this?
No but it's how I wanted to play the game since I didn't like the idea of helpers on a first play through.
just use a dlc unlocker anon
it's a fantastic game
