Is this still the definitive version of FF4 if you want all the content?

Is this still the definitive version of FF4 if you want all the content? Such a weird decision to keep Interludes exclusive to it.

Yes, but I prefer the DS version.

Yes. I personally enjoy the aerial effects and general sprite/tileset style, but the main pros are having both the original SNES music and new remastered as togglable option in-game and the extra content (including Interlude and TAY).
But the 3D version (DS/PC) is a great experience in itself, so you should try that one as well if you like IV. Just avoid the the Pixel Remaster of IV.
As a side note, Free Enterprise is the definitive version of IV, as far as I'm concerned.

      >Such a weird decision to keep Interludes exclusive to it.
probably because it would require making all the new assets since it only has the psp ones, and that version has a drastically different art style.

I'd say the 3d one is a great alternative you should play alongside the original just to see it looking totally different.

Just 4 or all of them?

        IV and VI specifically.

          >1 GBA looks a little better but 1Pixel remaster has the NES Magic
          >Didn't watch what they did with 2PR (I need to play it)outside making Pandemonium music even more kino.
          >3 jobs and abilities from DS are in 3PR
          >4 was mostly the same from the GBA and SNES , the best version is still the DS remake
          >5 removed the GBA jobs that nobody cared and were bad
          >6 removed GBA content but looks better. I sorta don't care because I played more the previous versions, but I know why people are pissed about this
In the end it was a good collection outside barely touching 1 and 4 and removing content from 6

Just don't listen to any moron telling you to play a handheld version of FF when the originals or the pixel remasters exist. The extra content is worth jack shit, you're buying into nintroony propaganda by people who got grifted themselves by used car salesmen tier strategies of adding a dungeon of recycled assets made by interns as a pack in bonus to sell bug janked inferior handheld versions of the game. It's bullshit, unbalanced extra items and dungeons are not what made any classic FF good, especially IV and VI.

IV psp is known to be the easiest version out of all of them, just do a search yourself and see, takes all the bite out of the game which wasn't that hard to begin with. If you must play a version with more stuff, IV 3D steam on hard mode(original difficulty) is the way to go, that shit is actual kino.

If you want fricking LUDO extra content in FF VI, play T-Edition.

I just hate how they homogenized the art style for all six games. Yes, it was an intentional decision, but every FF game had its own look.

Only one I've played of them is ff1 on an old phone.

The item dropped by a monster is determined by the last byte (0..FF; 96 in this example), bounds between items are 80/D0/FC (FF4) and 77/C7/F3 (Interlude and TAY).
Basically, 0x341200FF will make monsters drop only the most rare item they can. Note that the drop chance is fixed at 5%, but there's another cheat out there which raises it to 100%.

If you really love IV PSP's art style for some reason I'd hold out a bit, modders cracked the pixel scaling on PR and are currently adding all of them in.

    No.
Like it or not, the definitive editions for 1-6 are the Pixel Remasters.

6 is a downgrade to the SNES original in terms of aesthetics, presentation and soundtrack

And yet it's still better than any other release of 6, and it's more readily available than SNES 6 is. Ergo it's the definitive edition.

"All of the content" of FF4 is in the SNES version. All updated versions are "extra shit that doesn't improve the game." The only one worth checking out (AFTER playing SNES) is 3D version.

The bonus dungeons and ability to change your party are great. You homosexuals and your hatred for bonus content need to go drink bleach.
