not enough that id be looking at upgrading if the 3d werent on discount, but i wouldnt say no to a bit more power. feeling a tad cpu bottlenecked in some games (got a 3080Ti and play at 1440/144 with all settings maxed). i definitely dont NEED it, but ive got the money so doing this now to tide me over til am6 feels like a reasonable-ish option
no fucking wonder this planet is on the fast track to the toilet with these gays CONSOOMING with every fiber of their being
Tell us, OP, what do you HONESTLY need the extra power for?
pretty much everything up till last/this year bar a handful of poorly optimized AAAs could be run on ~6 year old hardware so i get where you're coming from. if OP has the money to spend then he should do whatever but there's no reason you need to upgrade so often unless you are emulating.

got a microcenter near you? for $120 more you can get a 7800x3d, or for $550 (and like an extra 25 to 100 watts depending on load) you can get a 13700k, 32gb of DDR5, and a mobo
the 13700k is worth it if you do not pay for your own power bill, kek
true, but he might be upgrading from some ancient ass processor like a 6600k, it all depends on what he's upgrading from, and if any components will be reusable

literally how are you this retarded? there is no microcenter near the OP because his picrel clearly shows bong currency, and he lists his current CPU in the post, meaning that yes, hed need a new mobo and ram
yeah am5 platforms were super expensive at the time so I went with am4. hopefully ddr5 doesnt become mandatory, but with how shit devs have been with optimization lately its a little concerning
judging by current trends, at least in AAA, i think the biggest thing thats gonna become more of a necessity is VRAM. AMD cards are better in that regard, but low-end nvidia ones might stop cutting it if devs dont sort their shit out
Are you dissatisfied with 5800x already?

>is this worth it as a final upgrade for like the next 4+ years if i currently have a 5800x?
what is wrong with you?
>t. poorfag ESLs
look up benchmarks of games you play comparing the 2 as the difference can vary wildly like either 1% or 50% better
and it runs hotter with slightly worse "creation" performance
yes of course. do it gay
I have a r5 2600. Is this a worthy upgrade.
Yes, the 5800x3d would be a massive upgrade. It was pretty noticeable and I had a 3600
Like in 2023 i start to notice that i need cpu upgrade, but only for new AAA titles, other indie games run just fine.

KYS
Y
S
even 5600 will be enough
4-8% usage in most games

Pretty sure you need a new motherboard if you're going from 5800x to 7800x3d

no, stop being so stupid
hes upgrading fom a fucking 5800x
oh shit them im as retarded as he is lmao
its not worth a jump from a 5800 to a 5800x3d
literally how are you this retarded? there is no microcenter near the OP because his picrel clearly shows bong currency, and he lists his current CPU in the post, meaning that yes, hed need a new mobo and ram
I haven't slept all night im allowed to be retarded
the fuck are you going to do with that?
my ryzen 5 5600x is working fine at 1440 ultra on all games i touch like dead space
Not final but upgrade if you can actually afford it. If you're a non American you should wait. I know you guys are poor.
>europoors
This looks shit. It's supposed to be eaten like that. With more mustard, too.
No
I built a new pc with this cpu 6 months ago. I plan on using it for at least 5 years. did I fuck up?
no. if youre not going am5 this is probably the best (AMD) cpu you could have got
