There's a difference between RNG and a system that's supposed to be consistent but instead you're at the mercy of a clown on a tricycle juggling lottery balls to determine whether a shot pens or not.
If actual gameplay videos look interesting to you - and I'm not talking about promo videos, that always have 1000% more action in them than the real game - then it might be worth it.
Sadly, the new player experience will be brutal, because you are going up against people who have played the game for the last 10 years straight, and there's plenty of P2W and "grind-to-win" aspects in the game. Also, despite looking like a pretty simple game, there's lots of things you need to learn, which aren't at all obvious.
If you can find a friend to easy you into the game, it becames much more enjoyable.
i got to tier 5 as beginner thinking kv1 will be strong cause everyone said its good, grind with stock weapons was unbearable especially when you are as bad as i was, finally when i got to kv1 i started facing tier 6-7 and people who spammed p2w gold ammo, my precious "heavy" armored tank felt made out of paper, theres honestly no reason to play this game with heavy tank half of the games you will get up tiered and feel useless, better to go pure derp gun and snipe from far away.
Artillery is aids and always will be because they can fire from out of LoS. It encourages camping (especially among noobs), not dissuade it as the morons at WG claim. And any and all lefh players should be shot.
Have you tried not being a moronic Black person? If you are out cover you are always at risk from some boomer clicking from across the map. The point is that they can attack without putting themselves at risk from return fire.
Played the game when it was still in beta 10 years ago.
Stopped playing around 2015, never looked back.
War Thunder became far more appealing, but then War Thunder became a moronic grindfest too. Now they're advertising their modern lineups so hard, forgetting it would take half a year for someone to reach modern tanks, not to mention planes, helicopters and other countries. So what do you do? You buy premium of course.
Only if you like to suffer. Then again, it was always suffering.
New player experience might be an easier burden these days, as it has been tried to make lower tiers less destructive and more forgiving.
If you do like tanks and are not against matches that can be between 5-15 minutes and don't mind a grind, then the game is alright.
There are some meta issues with certain tanks being relics of the past and damage creeped by newer tanks that have a greater damage output potential in the right hands.
The first stepping stone in the game which will probably benefit you the most is understanding the spotting/camo system, and the (ab)use of bushes. Look up shit on that before jumping in, as it greatly improves you survivability.
Mid tiers can be aids because of matchmaking, as going through tier 6-7 sees a shift in the average gun alpha when meeting tier 8 and 9, which gives room for quick deaths if you're not being careful enough.
It might be hard, but understand your own tank and the getting a grasp on the tanks you'll most likely face is the key here. Knowing weakspots and modules, to take use of hurting enemy's ammo rack or setting them ablaze from the fuel tanks/engine. (https://tanks.gg is nice for this)
If you like to learn by watch others, check out some livestreams. Dakillzor or iyouxin (even though he's polish) for EU, or Overlord_Prime for NA.
Joining a clan also helps with finding people to play with, which makes the games more enjoyable when including some more focused teamplay. Depending on server and if you want to join a four clover clan, NOPAN is still slightly active on EU. No idea about NA these days.
Also, anyone telling you them game is pay to win is an absolute shitter.
Also2, EU > NA.
>There are some meta issues with certain tanks being relics of the past and damage creeped by newer tanks that have a greater damage output potential in the right hands
Are T-44 and pershing among these tanks? I returned back to the game after years of hiatus and these I suck a lot on these two
Very much so.
You can easily decipher out the relics by checking out the mastery / mark of excellent requirements through https://tomato.gg/
Low requirements compare to its tier, means it has a low impact on the game.
Don't let this shill trick you. Your games will be decided by the quality of the lag shielded light jeep player before the match even begins.
The Pershing absolutely lost it's role, it has bad DPM, bad armour, extremely bad mobility, bad penetration, bad accuracy, the only thing going for it is the view range, but you will be outperformed by LTs in every battle
The T-44 is borderline idiot proof, but you will get punished if you overextend
t. returned to the game recently
>allied light gets popped >spend rest of the game getting shot at by invisible heavies and tank destroyers being actually invisible because they are behind a 2ft tall shrub
>Also, anyone telling you them game is pay to win is an absolute shitter.
It is, by definition. Any game where you can buy power is pay to win, which you literally can in WoT.
of all the online tank games WoT is by far the worst >tanks feel like go carts >no airplanes to nuke campers >health pools for tanks >made up tanks
its fricking ridiculous it even got this far
Just play gunner heat pc.
If you want true tanks in combined arms you have a choice between graviteam tactics or arma.
Wt and wot are both awful grindfests of games. Play mwo instead there at least you get to use your unlocks instead of forgetting about them forever since they are dogshit a tier above.
Several years ago, I fell into the biggest depression of my life. I felt awful, and that my life was a complete failure.
During this time, I played World of Tanks.
It's the best tank multiplayer game.
Getting into it is easier than ever for new players, but that's still a high level barrier.
It's not as bad for noobs as it was like in 2017.
You must use an invite code, referral code and if possible really go trough with the referral and some mentoring.
Joining a casual clan for credits boosts and having someone to ask about millions of small things.
Playing trough boot camp and topography single player tutorials.
Watching some beginner friendly streams like the English legend QB that's despised by redditoars at least on Sunday evening when he does a tech tree showcase.
Staying below tier 6 until you learn the maps and fundamental game mechanics.
Setting up twitch and Amazon prime and a stream viewbot connected to your account on an old Android phone.
And paying like 100€ for premium time and gold.
Account economy is half the winrate and half the fun.
This game is a shithole believe me when i tell you you dont want to get into it you will only get angry and frustrated because 90% of your teammates are borderline moronic polacks. I stopped playing like 10 years ago and i made a good decision
Then you know nothing.
The present day state of the game has basically the opposite problem of what you described.
It's now infested with godlike 50yo boomers from across eastern europe that have achieved literal mind fusion with the game and will click your ammo rack from across the map ignoring vision mechanics based purely on intuition.
It’s never been
It's pure goyslop, avoid at any cost
War Thunder has better mechanics but it's grindingslop so avoid it as well
>There is no decent tank game
>There is no Ace Combat like tank game
Why tankbros have to suffer like this
>It's pure goyslop
Vatnikslop
WT has shit casino gameplay, at least WoT is consistent. But yeah both games are trash.
>at least WoT is consistent
wut both are casino but different type
There's a difference between RNG and a system that's supposed to be consistent but instead you're at the mercy of a clown on a tricycle juggling lottery balls to determine whether a shot pens or not.
Yes, absolutely. Buy 200 christmas boxes, it's literally an investment.
If actual gameplay videos look interesting to you - and I'm not talking about promo videos, that always have 1000% more action in them than the real game - then it might be worth it.

Also don't forget the seal clubbers in the low tiers.
Wargaming was the first company to patent pay-to-win as it was implemented into World of Tanks
And that was a decade ago
of course, don't mind giving them access to your system with their totally not invasive launcher
only if you like getting dominated
by the enemy team
by your allies
by your platoonmates
Tier 1-4 are kinda fun to frick around in. Anything about that is pure cancer with p2w premium ammo a requirement.
At what level is it worth to get 75% crewmen?
4
Tier 5-6 were fun too back when I played.
i got to tier 5 as beginner thinking kv1 will be strong cause everyone said its good, grind with stock weapons was unbearable especially when you are as bad as i was, finally when i got to kv1 i started facing tier 6-7 and people who spammed p2w gold ammo, my precious "heavy" armored tank felt made out of paper, theres honestly no reason to play this game with heavy tank half of the games you will get up tiered and feel useless, better to go pure derp gun and snipe from far away.
45% shitter detected
post account
Played it for years, never enjoyed it once. Just addicted to the grind.
tank care of my family
They should make WOT 2.0 with new lines of modern tanks and AFVs. Armored warfare was a bust.
Something like that is probably in the works. But their most current offerings seem to be something called "Modern Armor" and "Tomorrow Falls".
There are no good tank games anon
Although I like to shit on WT, it's still better than WoT.
it could have been a fun game if they removed arty and permabanned everyone who mained it
>t. triangle main
they nerfed it hard and youre still crying? Rofl.
Artillery is aids and always will be because they can fire from out of LoS. It encourages camping (especially among noobs), not dissuade it as the morons at WG claim. And any and all lefh players should be shot.
Have you tried using your W key to change your position at least once every 10 minutes?
Have you tried not being a moronic Black person? If you are out cover you are always at risk from some boomer clicking from across the map. The point is that they can attack without putting themselves at risk from return fire.
I prefer warthogger because you get location-based damage rather than healthbars

Good. Everyone wanting to play modern shit deserves to be israeliteed
Pirate Tetris and play that instead

No other game has ever made me experience gamer rage. The game is so frustrating to play, and the grind is not worth the time.
Avoid at all costs.
The fact that you can buy premium ammo says it all.
No.
Premium ammo can be bought with in-game currency now.
It's still moronic and the community is moronic for letting it take root at all.
The game was much better when you couldn't do that. Back then nobody was using it. It was basically as if it didn't exist at all.
of all the online tank games WoT is by far the worst

Black person this is a reason i stopped playing WoT
>world of TANKS
>hurr where airplane?
meant to write WT aka war thunder
You know you can drop bombs on enemy player tanks with the f16 and then dog fight the mig 29 in the same match, right?
i want a tank game not gay air combat, WoT has similar problem with artillery
Just play gunner heat pc.
If you want true tanks in combined arms you have a choice between graviteam tactics or arma.
Wt and wot are both awful grindfests of games. Play mwo instead there at least you get to use your unlocks instead of forgetting about them forever since they are dogshit a tier above.
For me its world of warships
stop playing wows subhuman
Never, I'm gonna spam HE with my british battleships and play across the entire map without helping my team in my japanese ones
Friendship ended with WoT,
now WoWS is my best friend.
Already going to shit. Subs made that garbage even more campy at high tiers.
Several years ago, I fell into the biggest depression of my life. I felt awful, and that my life was a complete failure.

It's enjoyable if you are really really good at it, or you don't care spending tons of money. Otherwise don't touch it.
