I find it interesting how hard Xbox has gone after first person shooters and RPGs while Sony is obsessed with third person action adventures. Never would have expected it honestly. Seems like diversifying is just not in the cards.
IMO it's all because of Naughty Dog, Last of Us success killed old Sony, so they are now forcing third person cinematic games. And, sadly, it works. They even managed to turn edgy button masher God of War into it.
I've no idea why Microsoft went all in after RPG though, but at least their OG studios are still making stuff like Sea of Thieves and MS Flight Sim, so there is still hope for a diverse release pipeline.
