It feels like everyone now a days is running kitchen sink high fantasy games just to justify inserting their own sexually deviancy of the week. Too many times do I see something that just exists and doesn't feel as if its a part of the world other then to have a monster girl or furry race the GM is into.

        You don't play games.

But I do though which is why I came to that conclusion. Pathfinder is particularly bad for it also which granted is a system I only played a couple of times but I seen the options and what exists.

You don't play games because if you did you'd know it doesn't matter to you at all if some blue hair troony furgay wants to ERP in his 5e group and if you encounter those people in your games you can simply just walk away.

OP here, you are right I can just walk away and I have, I am just pointing out a common theme that I think would make for at least an entertaining discussion while ranting a bit how I am tired of kitchen sink fantasy games. We all seen how X race is just human with a funny hat with the girls being sexy.
              >REeeeeeeEEE you are a puritan who doesn't like sex
I once ERP'd with my GM on the side without anybody else's knowledge or consent that was stealthfuly inserted into the game as minor plotline with my characters romance option without anybody's knowledge, so you can't say shit

Sounds like you're the one choosing to turn everything into coomer shit and are projecting onto others.

I mean that is true, but Drow at least somewhat feel as if they are a part of the natural world, at least where they stand now although I still don't like the Drow. Drow are supposed to just be evil elves that live underground and not a whole new race like evil batmen or something. I am talking about people who put in a furry race that feels as if they have no place in the world other then so the person who made the setting can get off. Forbidden lands does this with the wolfkin because they get almost no lore support although I think they were put into the game more because somebody thought it would be cool.

                >I think they were put into the game more because somebody thought it would be cool.
99% of the time that's all it is. You don't have to go out of your way to read more into it.

This sounds more like a complaint against the kind of people you play with, not really a problem with the game. The game is just options, you can choose to run a perfectly low-fantasy themed sword and board human only adventure in pathfinder if you want, you just have to all agree to limit your options. Your issue is that you're playing with people who want different options from the rules than you.

Have you tried playing with people who aren't fa/tg/uys, or maybe looked outside of your normal social circles? I didn't find a solid group until I went to university and started hanging out with the normie theater and english kids, they were the only ones who actually leaned into the roleplaying options that I also enjoyed. Maybe for you that'll be a different kind of crowd, but it evidently isn't the one that you're in.

Pathfinder is actually better if you want to avoid degenerates and improv acting. The system is so autistic that most players are too focused trying to follow the rules or break them to do anything pervy. Thankfully.

Pathfinder is WRITTEN by magical realm deviants. Look at all the "youthful" and "nubile" Chaotic-alignment Mary Sue lesbian (but not too lesbian to take nerd dick) NPCs inserted in each adventure path.

I mean, I'm not saying you're incorrect but I aint gonna say I'm above Saint Valejo or those who follow after his order. Nubile Off-Lesbian Chaotic NPC's is a tradition passed down to us from ancient times.

      It's a witch-accusation, a thought stopping cliche for /tg/ and /tg/ alone.
Basically it's like being accused of being racist, from that point on the entire conversation isn't about what originally happened but is about if you are actually racist or not.

DnD was always a kitchen sink high fantasy game full of random shit that doesn't feel at all like a coherent world. More or less necessarily so given the range of influences and lack of a particular built in setting.
This is not a "nowadays" issue.

This is because most people who put such things in their settings are just bad at integrating it.
Now, sometimes I don't care either, but it's a tone thing. Know your audience and all that.

I once played in an extremely schizo online RP where the GM made a setting about Europe being invaded by a united Islamic Communist Army (she's not racist though for real she's not racist it's just commentary on the rights of gay people in Indonesia somehow).
But there was also an elven kingdom with dragons hidden in the forests of Estonia opposing the Islamic-Marxist occupation.
Try to make that tonally make sense.

      >My enemy tribes are similar enough to lump together
      >My tribe is still in-touch with the hidden whimsical aspects of the world
An imaginative GM could make something out of this.

I'm not interested in defending the aforementioned schizo but you're full of shit, too. People on /tg/ offering up worthless opinions regarding games they don't play has always been a thing. The fact that there's a label for it now changes nothing.

I have literally never been in a game where something deviant happened or someone brought up his magical realm in-game. And I play online exclusively. The worst that happened out of the game was a few sexual innuendos and jokes (mostly by me).

I agree. I got invited to a D&D game a few weeks back from some of the people I play board games with. The DM was a girl, first time I’ve played with a female DM but whatever, so I joined the discord they had set up to plan the game. First weird thing is the DM sent me a bunch of messages asking what kind of girls I liked to plan an NPC love interest. I wasn’t super into that and said so, but first session she still tried to have a bunch of NPCs flirt with my character. She was kind of drunk, more so than I usually get when gaming, and insistent so I found it embarrassing.

And then after that we were just chatting for a bit, everyone started to say they had to to go and she was like do you wanna stay and play some board games? Like b***h, no, I play board games on Sunday and it’s late. And most board games suck ass with 2 players anyway. I wanted a D&D and just got forced into an NPC romance simulator.
