It is 2005.
You come back from highschool.
It is friday, and you have no real plans for the rest of the day.
You press the oversized power button on the yellowing plastic case of your Pentium 4 computer.
BEEP.
In the 5 minutes it takes for it to load you change clothes and grab a snack from the kitchen.
You sit down; the familiar glow of Windows XP's silver theme greets you.
You roll out the keyboard tray and give the mouse a slight wiggle to wake it up.
You double-click a salmon-colored icon on your computer desktop.
It takes a few seconds for it to load, but when it does, a mellow melody flows out of the cheap speakers positioned to either side of your heavy CRT monitor.
You smile. It's good to be home.

so you fabricated a fake memory of what you wanted a fake time in your life to be like?
Zoomers have been doing this for years. It's why vaporwave exists.
The best part is them trying to gaslight the people calling them out.
I like vaporwave and I'm 40. Try again.
i'm 40 and he was responding to me. you have boring as frick taste and probably don't really like music very much.
being 40 doesn't mean you're immune to sucking ass.
>you have boring as frick taste and probably don't really like music very much
kek I bet you listen to dad rock and mumble rap you pretencious homosexual. I play trombone and euph in my local city orchestra, and it's a fairly large American city. What's your musician's local, homosexual?
weird flex
very cringe and offtopic.
>music 'snob' doesn't even play an instrument
hahah as expected
>I play trombone a
wow congrats on being born to an upper middle class karen type family. i bet you own boat shoes and a pastel colored polo too
this is very specific seething. Are you a Black person? Does someone knowing how to play an instrument trigger you, Tyrone?
congrats being born to failures of parents. Glad to see you're following in their footsteps to raise the next generation of loser who blames the world for his failings.
The trombone poster strikes
imagine getting BTFO by some homosexual playing an oversized trumpet lmao
Does being 40 give you magical revision powers where you played a Japanese game before it was translated to English?
No, but it let me learn moon before you were even born little fella
>learning moon is impossible
kys kid
Not the OP but you are the zoomers. Why is it so hard to wrap your head around the fact that there are people who are still here from the mid 2000s internet era?
Tsukihime isn't even that good to nostalgiagay over. At least pick a more popular and better title like Umineko where there which generated far more threads and shitposting back then.
Don't you have a TFR thread to salivate over?
>razer mousepad
boomers rly shit & piss they pants over this frfr
Nobody here fricking played tsukihime I'm tired of this fake nostalgia. I know because I played the demo and couldn't figure out what it was for years and in older than 99.99% of the board.
I played it, homosexual. Sounds more like a "you" problem.
2005 is believable but I wasn't talking about you, more scoffing at the idea that tons of people played it. For the longest time it was just a weird exe you could only play 10 mins and had moon runes.
>Nobody here fricking played tsukihime
I did back in 2009, and Kagetsu Tohya
i played it but not in 2005, in 2005 i was playing blizzard and nintendo games mostly. i read f/sn in college in like 200...8? 2009?, and i read tsukihime about a year after that i think. and then i read kagetsu tohya which was the best of them all.

Oh no you called me a zoomer. That will totally distract from your obvious larp.
>2005
frick off no one played Tsukihime back then
everyone played Vampire®: The Masquerade-Bloodlines™
The girls in this were so bland and it didn’t even have an interesting story. i have no idea how this shit got popular.
It was the first VN that really got any attention in the west outside very, VERY obscure niche communities.
It got popular largely because of Melty Blood and also the original tsukihime was one of the few "hentai" vns in the early 2000s.
it has soul
>he didn't read the Hisui route
Your loss. Plus, for all the shit Ciel's gets it's a more interesting version of Arc's.
It's schizo kino.
Daily reminder that nostalgia threads are garbage and you will never experience those golden days again and things just get worse and worse.
Most of them are zoomers larping or late millenials second handing actual millenial experiences and claiming them as their own anyways.
Oddly specific.
Or you know some of us actually experienced the stuff and can easily identify posers
I had my VN phase back in ~2011-2012 and played Tsuikihime during that time. I was 15 at the time. It's a very "real" nostalgia for me, homosexual.
Maybe consider the thread you are in before getting offended
A Tsukihime nostalgia thread?
Just shut the frick up already.
Is this how you normally handle being mistaken? Might wanna work on it. In any case I'm glad you enjoyed Tsukihime too anon and have fond memories that are relatable.
Why are boomers so fricking moronic? Its like the second you turn ~30 you just turn into a complete brainlet, is it years of wagecucking that grinds down your braincells?
mate i lived through these and you're kinda cringe if you're nostalgia gayging over shitty crt monitors and a fricking VN you can boot up and play right now
>you will never experience those golden days again
true! the past cannot and will not return. even if resurrected by nostalgia.
>things just get worse and worse
only if you allow them to. the future can be just as golden as the past or even more golden. it's up to us to build that future, even if it never reaches beyond this website. barring uncontrollable disasters, of course.

god I miss mindlessly browsing for hours on end and playing Hisoutensoku in the delay era, and MBAC ver.B with fellow shitters. I miss those homosexuals.
>obscene amounts of money
heh, even when I was a wagecuck, I was still too unqualified to rent an apartment in the shittiest area of Jiggaville. Normalgays will tell you up and down, get a job you fricking hippie degenerate. And then you do, and it still isn't enough for even the shittiest of roach-filled studio apartments(you need 3-6x your current annual income, and a credit score of 840+> for Mr LandlordMcBuysALadyboyOrTwo to even consider you as a candidate)
I was too busy having actual sex back then to play hentai “””games”””
Bunch of Black folk in the thread, dw OP I did this. Might have missed the mark with some people not manually installing the soundtrack since the initial releases were shit.
>You double-click a salmon-colored icon on your computer desktop.
You're not japanese though...
i wish arcueid was real bros. i need a cute moron to dick around with

For my money, it's 7
Niggur I was playing Age of Mythologies back then I cannot relate to this

Should I read the original or the new one?
Read both. Take your time with the new one because who fricking knows how long the second half will take to release.
>2005
>Jerking off to TheDigimonHentaiZone all night
Those were the days.
This type of anons definitely aren't around anymore, those that learned Japanese and everything.
Wasn't the translation patch much later too, like 2009 or so. You should have said Melty Blood instead
Yes the thread is full of larpers. Notice how nobody accused this post of baiting?
Because they know it's true.
>Notice how nobody accused this post of baiting?
>several posts did
what the moron mean by this?
No they didn't. Sincerely attempting to refute something is not calling it out as bait.
why can't zoomers read?
Larping is not baiting either. Try again. Or you could go on explaining how all these zoomers played the game before it was translated.
>Yes the thread is full of larpers
get fricked c**t here is a screenshot from 2008 of me reading tsukihime with my desktop in the background.
take me back
Yeah it's almost as if 2008 is 3 years after 2005
Not him but so what? lmao
Hold on wait let me reread the OP oh it's the first sentence
The exact year is a minor detail.
It wasn't even translated until 2006.
is this supposed to mean anything? do you think tsukihime was just a short fad in 2005 or something?
We already have people back pedaling claiming they used it to learn Japanese after avoiding coming up with that answer for like 100 posts lmao
Tsukihime was a cultural icon on the internet in 2005 kid
ok cool but how does that relate to my post
Listen you might be sincere, but you are getting caught in the crossfire defending larping zoomer trolls. Reap what you sew.
>sew
tsukihime was never popular in any way, even in niche circles
>tsukihime was never popular in any way, even in niche circles
moron hands typed this post
nta. but melty blood was a thing. sort of. len was popular.
Tsukihime was pretty popular on /jp/.
Based.
Also, I don't think I'll read the near side routes in the remake, I just hope I'll be alive when the far side route releases.
>tfw I have a bunch of backup CDs with random memes and bullshit but I never thought to take any screenshots
pain
The patch came out in 2006. But it was already being discussed before being translated. Remember the anime came out in 2003. People only started shitting on it after the VN translation was released.
>people took the "tsukhime anime doesn't exist" meme so seriously to the point where shitposters completely forgot about it when it comes people knowing this property and not taking into account in their schizo tantrums
fricking lol
yeah, and most people knew it from the anime.
yup, first it was the anime, then Melty Blood due to how easily it was to pirate on every toaster
Just like Fate.
And Higurashi.
And Umineko.
>In the 5 minutes it takes for it to load you change clothes and grab a snack from the kitchen.
Holy shit you must have had a shitty rig.
I was 3 in 2005
I feel kinda bad when I see the old guys here talk about learning about tsukihime around the 2000's because I missed out hard on the discussion here, but it still became one of my favorite series when I read it
Honestly the internet has stabilized into a standardized experience since 2010. You're going to get people saying there were still wonderful things but they were still underage themselves or were part of the group that still used forums and didn't see the times changing.
>I was 3 in 2005
That's fricked up
The only reason I have heard of Tsukuhime and Arcueid is because of powerhomosexualry on old forums with her being put against Akuma and Sephiroth
I learned of it from mugen and mugen forums(randomselect)
I also think Tsukihime anime was good
I didn't read Tsukihime until way later, but I did go through a similar experience with Fate/stay night. I vividly remember reading Heaven's Feel on my old 1024x768 beige CRT at night, Windows XP and all.
Good times. Good fricking times.
I don't get VNs. They are in this very weird liminal state of being not quite light novels, not quite text adventures, not quite puzzle games, not quite porn games.
Played fate just because of its status (and GAR memes), and was pretty bored. Excluding the part near the end where "mana transfer" happens and it triggered a genuine laugh. Because of all the fricking RDSWORDSWORDSWO I completely forget that it is ostensibly a porn game. Powered through UBW, didn't even bother with HF. And that's when I was a teen, when games with edge and breasts are supposed to be extra appealing.
Just want to say that it's kinda weird I can't stomach them. Maybe it's because I'm a racist, since I like wordy western CYOA games (shame there are like 10 of them) as well as CRPGs, but not JRPGs.
Or maybe it's because I don't have waifus, who knows?
Regardless, frick off with your gayass nostalgia bait, play a real bideo jame or read a real book.
>blahblahblahblahblah
gay
If that's too much, I know a site with a character limit just for you.
Black person.
>We're as far from 2005 as it was from 1987
I was make a post saying
>2000 was 25 years ago
but frick, that's really not too far off
I started kindergarten in 2005
i was playing my PS2 back then. i believe my brother was in the basement on the computer.
I didn't play Tsukihime in 2005.
I played Melty Blood Re-Act then played tsukihime, PLUS+DISC and Kagetsu Tohya. I think Fate/Stay Night just came out around that time? Can't remember but that's probably when I played Tsukihime.
I sort of regret never experiencing Typemoon (and vns in general) during the 2000s. Mus have been great discussing this with fellow turbo nerds on forum.
TM discussion before Fate/Zero was much different, a lot comfier. Zero was the moment all went to shit tbh.
As someone who started post-Zero, you'd still get a bunch of oldschool-eque discussion on FSN and Tsuki up until the gacha gained a proper foothold. Helps that back then VN discussion on Ganker was more lax. Nowadays Ganker is best for it, despite everything.
>TM discussion before Fate/Zero was much different
Not really, everyone still shat all over Fate/SN.
I think the true turning point was FGO, While Zero did make discussion annoying, I could atleast still pretend the series was relatively niche.
Type-Moon fandom was the comfiest it's ever been until the release of FGO. Unironically ruined everything and I'm glad I got out.
THE LONG WAIT IS ALMOST OVER
2 0 2 4
I was blowing fricking dandelions in middleschool wishing she'd get a route all those years ago
I started hating Fate even before the gacha shit. Even if you combined Hisui and Arc, the best girls, I really really hate the concept of troony King Arthur
>I really really hate the concept of troony King Arthur
You are 12
Anyone of any age can see through your troony facade. You cannot change your sex, every cell in your body has the dna of your original sex. Stop being a homosexual freak and stop insulting the Arthurian legend
THEY SERVE YOU RATTLESNAKES THEY GIVE YOU BAKE AND SHAKE WITH A MISTAKE IN THE CAKE
The fact you think Saber is a "troony" is what makes you 12, wait 6 years before posting again.
Was King Arthur a woman? Was he a woman meek for the romance of an autistic Japanese schoolboy obsessed with swords? No. troony King Arthur is a disgusting concept.
Should have stuck with the prototype where he was a bishounen and the MC was a woman. Would have been much less offensive then
You literally don't even know a troony is, apparently. Can you frick off until you're 18, please?
I'm starting to think you are a troony
Yes that's not suprising when you don't even know what a troony is.
Wake up b***hes

Why larp as an og if you're gonna post a picture with that pig disgusting redesign?
>larp

Very rude post, and shit taste not liking reArc's fluffier hair
Wow, you are a bonefide pleb. Gross!
You're the LARPer you idiot. People only ever had the visceral kneejerk reaction to the redesigns because they took it as a sign that the Remake would be fricking terrible and a soulless cash-in that spat on the spirit of the original. It wasn't. We were wrong. The Tsukihime Remake is probably the biggest love letter any creator has written to one of their prior works, ever.
It's fine if you prefer the older designs. I do too, for the most part. But if you're still acting like such an insufferable giant homosexual about them, you're essentially holding up a sign announcing that you're a poser who's just desperately trying to fit in, because you somehow haven't gotten the memo yet.
>we
Based. Frick these poser oldgays.
Tsuki remake is one of the kinoest things that fans of the original could've asked for. Can't wait for Far Side routes.
>People only ever had the visceral kneejerk reaction to the redesigns because they took it as a sign that the Remake would be fricking terrible and a soulless cash-in that spat on the spirit of the original
Also because they are fricking terrible. Sometimes it really is as simple as people say.
it's very weird arguing with people like this. It basically boils down to "THE CONSENSUS CHANGED, therefore you need to change your opinion on the designs".
Type Moon fans have been so mindbroken about the current state of type moon and it's FGO dominance that they'll literally defend anything about it with incredible fervor just to recapture that nostalgia.
Guys I fricking love the remake sorry.
BOOOORN IN THE UUUSSSAAAAA
Kohaku's ending was really bad, and it's disappointing the VN finished off the way it did.
shut up
No, it was bad, dude. Do you even remember it?
her end was ok, the last day's title Seven Nights almost made me scream from hype, now thats some high end kino right there, and it's one of the best parts of the entire VN for me
>for all the shit Ciel's gets it's a more interesting version of Arc's.
I will never understand this take personally, the Roa backstory makes it much better than Arc's
The amount of repeated content is a bit ridiculous but the second Roa dies and Shiki starts having a mini schizo attack it becomes way better than anything Near Side provided before that point.
the repeated content is indeed very noticeable, also the end is kind of funny, shiki is completely losing his mind and both arcueid and ciel are too busy having a woman moment to notice, hilarious
Good thing the route where someone does notice his breakdown is the best of the bunch. In my personal opinion, of course.
Hisui's route is undeniably one of the better ones, personally I still cant decide if I like hers or Kohaku's more, or if it's even my favorite which might be the case
It has a lot going for it to, best schizophrenia scenes (stream of consciousness ones in particular, I believe thats what they were called), an actually normal heroine, and more background on what happened to the sisters back when they were young, leading to Kohaku route
Ironic how the route of the only normal girl has the most schizoid energy of them all.
Speaking of the sisters, it's kinda disappointing the whole "synchronizer" thing was never brought up again, at least to my knowledge, really hope they expand on that with Red Garden
it was fun, Len is one of my favorite characters too
>Speaking of the sisters, it's kinda disappointing the whole "synchronizer" thing was never brought up again, at least to my knowledge, really hope they expand on that with Red Garden
I have to wonder if it will even make the cut at all, given it relied entirely on sex. I know Arc gets a fade to black in the remake but her backstory isn't quite as twisted as Hisui and especially Kohaku's. Also hoping the spider doc isn't used as a means to absolve Kohaku of all responsibility for trying to kill Shiki and Akiha.
>I have to wonder if it will even make the cut at all
I fear that that will be the case, when I finished the vn and thought back on it it just felt like a way to make Shiki have sex with Hisui and somehow get him back on his feet again, because there was no way for him to actually face SHIKI otherwise
Is the sync power only activated by sex? If I'm not remembering it all wrong, Akiha is syncing with Kohaku whevener she drinks her blood. Though in that case, Kohaku is just trying to push her over the edge to inversion impulse.
>I have to wonder if it will even make the cut at all, given it relied entirely on sex.
Them being reverse succubuses I thought was actually interesting, so it'd be a shame if they cut it because REEEE SEX
it's completely glossed over, and Len makes no appearance in remake at all, no implication Arcueid has a familiar or anything to my knowledge
Hisui's route is by far my favorite. Definitely the most brutal thing Nasu's ever written IMO. It ends with everyone but Shiki and Hisui dead, and Shiki's got a time limit.
forgot to say it was the most tragic route yeah, at least Hisui gets to move on and eventually go back to the way she used to be.
the title being Dreams of Sunshine actually hit pretty hard when I went to check it
I can't believe those fricking hacks at Type Moon didn't bother localizing the remake even though they're a billion dollar company now.
Arcueid route was so good. Waiting 5+ years for Ciel + far side is fricking GAAAAAY.
Like, everyone remember the sunflower field ending, but do you remember how it got there? It's basically the same lead up to the climax of Hisui's route, but where in Hisui's route, it all ends in a fricking bloodbath where everyone dies, in Kohaku's, they all just start crying, and then there's a time skip where all their problems get supposedly worked out off screen.
That's really bad. That's REALLY bad from a writing standpoint. You could feel how Nasu wrote himself into a corner. "Frick, frick, frick. This is the last route, so it needs to have a happy ending, but everything I have right now shows they're gonna kill each other." Then he just says they have character development off screen, and then Kohaku smiles at you with sunflowers in the background.
From what I recall, Hisui's route was meant to account for both her and Kohaku but Nasu's mates or whoever tested the game hated Kohaku not having a route of her own so he whipped it up in a short amount of time. Shame too since stuff like SHIKI being amicable towards Shiki and skipping town or Akiha being the final boss deserve a proper shake.
>tsukibako tracks
Psh, amateurs. Watch this.
>*ruins ur somber ending*
Lmao you can tell this was made before Near Side or the Ciel ends were a speck on the radar. I prefer original mixes for most of this and all of Kagetsu but the Tsukibako ending theme is too good to ignore.
>I'll be 38 this year
>haven't had a single good day since 2012
>everything keeps getting worse
>since 2012
I'm 28 and I also noticed that year as being the last good year before the world went down the shitter.
I guess the mayans were right and the world truly ended and we're just living inside an empty dead shell.
Skill issue
>2012
Yep. You speak the truth.
2012-2014 was when geek culture's gatekeepers realised they should have kept the gates closed.
now think about how fun this will be
a lot of us have relied on internet communication in life to have anyone to talk to
but pretty soon, as soon as..months ago..anyone you talk to on Ganker etc could just be chat-gpt
you must come up with a way to deal with this and have more relationships irl
i think learning to do ham radio is a super good idea. it'd be fun just to banter with anons podcast style over radio
if creating a chat-gpt with an exact model of pre-smartphone Ganker is possible, then plug me in.
yeah i had that thought also. many of the humans here are worth significantly less than a nice conversational AI probably.
the flood gates opened with smartphones.
gatekeepers were still going hard for a very long time.
2007 was a mistake
For me, it’s 2006
there wasnt an impact that early because data usage and browsers weren't viable for normie consumption.
sure but that muddles it too much and gives rise to differences across international borders. if one has to pick a specific year where things went wrong one can do no better than 2007; the launch year of the iphone.
>the launch year of the iphone.
I guess, but it's more like the planting of a seed rather than anything impactful on the year itself.
Sure, but it's populated, there's multiple boards where it's practically dead. And why is /b/ the way it is now? It was the entry point for a of lot older anons and now it's been left to the dogs.
>And why is /b/ the way it is now?
the fappening?
I don't think it's that. It was still useable until 2017.
pffft
I haven't been able to use that place since 2013. /b/ was always shit but it was shit that was appealing, it becoming /s/ 2.0 ruined it for me.
That may be true but I don't think people were truly surfing the internet on phones until smartphones were properly cheap and mass produced until like '11? '12?
>but pretty soon, as soon as..months ago..anyone you talk to on Ganker etc could just be chat-gpt
Yeah, I know this is the case. I mean, apart from what? /misc/? Ganker? Most boards seem to be a handful of actual anons and the rest automated posts. /LULZ/ has over a 100 threads with less than 20 posts yet new ones keep being posted all the time.
>you must come up with a way to deal with this and have more relationships irl
I know, I know.
I still have my...something or other HD monitor from 2006. Still using it to this day.
lmao /misc/ is people so stupid they appear to be bots even if they arent
Nobody but a handful of Ganker turbo autists played Tsukihime back then and nobody even knew what a VN was. More than half of this board could even tell you what this even is today, and that same half probably think the only fate is the gacha shit. have a nice day faker.
>have a nice day faker
>posts faker
Ganker is cool sometimes
>the zoomers seething in this thread have no idea MirrorMoon's Fate patch was a huge deal on Ganker and Ganker back in the day and we had threads galore on it
I didn't mind when Kohaku killed herself in Hisui's route, she is truly despicable.
Zoomers having fake nostalgia will never not be funny.
>yep, it's schizo time
I'm sorry, but I muted Tsukihime's soundtrack half-way through Arc's route. The game's OST is like, 15 minute's long.
Where are my Kagetsu Tohya CHADS at?
Kagetsu Tohya sucks and reads like fanfiction
>that flowchart
never reading it
Right here. I replayed it and Tsukihime fully like six months ago and remembered how much I love it. Arihiko's backstory, the brotherly moments between the two Shikis, The Tohno Family Con Game, there's a lot to love in this disc.
>did this completely without a walkthrough
>didn't feel it was that tough or anything
>years later apparently everyone b***hes about how hard this shit is without a walkthrough
Guess I was just built different at the time. Nowadays I'd probably just use a walkthrough but I don't remember it being that difficult, just a fair amount of trial and error
The thing that freaked me out was that choices would randomly disappear on days, and I had no idea what triggered the events. It made me think I was missing events.
Len appearing at the end of most recent Lumina DLC was the best Gankeridya announcement of 2022, if only to confirm that she still exists
>there are lucklets that actually softlocked themselves in a Groundhog's Day scenario
morons btfo
>gag only
>if only to confirm she still exists.
Is there no equivalent in the remake for the bit that Arc sends a familiar to reward Shiki for his help?
What was Akiha's problem?
Rapist genes.
>posting the track
Imagine thinking I don't already have it installed.
It's a fresh install because I haven't gone through and replayed it yet, but one day I will.
This thread takes me back to the times before Fate Hollow was translated and everyone was eagerly awaiting Mahoyo. Friend picked me up the PS4 version of the latter in Japan, excited to read it.
I guess they could do what FSN did and have a blood oath to facilitate the contract, but in a game with actual vampires that would be confusing at best.
Meant for
Oops.
they could also have Hisui explain what the synchronizers are before the fade to black, but I cant remember if Hisui does this before or while her naked cg is already on the screen, but that could make it lewder as a reminder of what tsukihime really was... (not happening)
Sex is the best way for it and makes the synchronization work at its full potential, blood consumption also works but it's weaker and not the actual thing
It would make sense to retain the lewdness of the Far Side, but let's not kid ourselves. You make a good point either way, but with how drastically they changed up Ciel who's to saw the twins and Akiha won't get similar treatment?
Hell it just occurred to me, can a CERO rated game even have Shiki and Akiha hook up for real?
if you ever came home and launched a VN instead of a competitive game, you are a casual weeb and don't belong here.
today on bizzaro Ganker: tsukihime is umineko levels of popular on old Ganker and everybody forgot how the threads were full of trolls
>not so thinly-veiled oldschool Type-Moon thread
>newbie shitters decide to have their boomzoom war here of all places
Why?
They literally can not comprehend that people existed back then.
4/10
higher rating for not using the revisionist meme cat
How the frick are they going to make the Akiha/Hisui/Kohaku routes in the remake when half of it is getting sexually abused by the maids while spouting delirium in your bed?
everything from the OG happened in the Remake so far; just offscreen sometimes like the alleyway rape.
I assume that will all be the same.
Yeah but the lewd aspects of Near Side were nowhere near as prevalent, as anons discussion Hisui above alluded to.
it's going to do what it did with the Arc sex scene. It'll set the stage, fade to black, and then cut back in with the whole "Ooooh noooo I did a HECKIN' rape-a-rino' shtick.
Remake works better in some scenes imo. I like that they replaced the really weird out of left field rape scene with Arc to Shiki just being unable to stop himself and slicing her into a bunch of giblets again
? Wat
He almost bit her nipple off, and the scene was him realizing he wanted to FRICK the shit out of her.
yeah but it's more of an animalistic desire to ravage her, if you don't stop him in remake he's basically moaning while he slices her into a bunch of meat again
Atari Dumbledore.
hint: you and your 1 weeb friend from the internet talking about some super niche, unknown shit does not mean it was popular or widely discussed
and it needn't have been. if you weren't there, leave the false realities alone, and if you were there, no need to misrepresent something because you love it
i don't even remember what i was doing in 2005, but i know, sure as frick, that every single person in the thread wasn't on Ganker, because i started in 2006
>the game that made Typemoon into an actual company from a doujin circle was, in fact, not popular because I wasn't on Ganker yet
moron LOL
typemoon at any level is INCREDIBLY SUPER NICHE SHIT FOR WEEBS LMAO
YOU DON'T GET IT BECAUSE YOU'RE S U C H AN *ACTUAL* *LOSER*
/jp/ has never had more than like 300 simultaneous users in history
>typemoon at any level is INCREDIBLY SUPER NICHE SHIT FOR WEEBS LMAO
>YOU DON'T GET IT BECAUSE YOU'RE S U C H AN *ACTUAL* *LOSER*
>typemoon at any level is INCREDIBLY SUPER NICHE SHIT FOR WEEBS LMAO
Not Fate. Fate's been mainstream ever since Zero came out.
we're on levels of cope that shouldn't even be possible
>i don't even remember what i was doing in 2005
that's because you're mentally handicapped.
ooohh is that the boomer game this wacky creature comes from? haha visual novels are not games
I just wanted to talk about Tsukihime again.
>it's 2005
>you're addicted to Counter Strike
>you don't play gay games like OP
Uhhhhh

yeah guys, it was never popular. It just somehow teleported hundreds of thousands of dollars into Type Moon's bank account and let them buy an office, and all of the merch that definitely didn't sell also is all fake and doesn't exist.
>TM WORKS being talked in other Ganker threads never ceases to amazes me.
Why does Ganker pretend everyone hates TM stuff now? Tsukihime is probably still one of my favorite VNs of all time.
It's just one guy larping as an Uminekogay and everyone's taking the bait.
>now
imagine playing "tsukihime" in 2005 and not fricking quake3 threewave capturestrike while the community was literally on fire
imagine not playing vanilla WoW and rocket arena
>vanilla WoW
unironically typing this after WoW Classic exposed you losers lmao
Classic is not vanilla.
you say that like it wasn't an unbelievable success
>WoW
lmao WoW fricking soccer mom..carebear homosexual fake mmo
Which TM do you like more, Tsuikihime or F/SN?
Tsukihime overall, but Fate does have some things better like better villains and higher production value
Based.
Reading the Tsukihime Remake was so unbelievably comfy. First time I've ever nostalgiagayged for a game so hard.
I felt like that Star Wars guy unironically.
KnK
Neither, Mahoyo
Tsukihime since I prefer the setting and characters, but FSN will always have a place in my heart. The gacha and various non Hollow spinoffs can rot.
Fate, Tsuki is just too low budget. Barely any sprites, those shitty blurred photo backgrounds, and the same 5 music tracks over and over. That Fate also has a better plot in general is also helpful.
I prefer Tsukihime's setting far, far more than F/SN's even if both are urban/supernatural combination, but it was the former that made me like those settings, same with moon-related themes, and I prefer Shiki.
FSN was cool tho, but I prefer it slightly less over tsuki, the production value from tsukihime to fsn was an incredible jump to witness tho, seeing the sprites move during the prologue archer/lancer fight was awesome, same with its overall visuals and music
Oath Under Snow is the only good TM work.
holy fricking kino
is Muramasa actually good? I read the first chapter and it seemed edgy just for the sake of it.
Was thinking of giving it another shot.
key sentence for breaking down muramasa coudl be "what do you define as justice".
if you like fate and it's "heroism" defining story then you shouldn't be bothered. the edgyness has its reason for being there.
hmm, I think I'll give it another try, the child killing and rape was turning me off before
its edgy but its not there for no reason imho muramasa is highly rated and well liked within even the TM circle.
tsukihime was always the cooler setting with better characters, but it is hard for it to compete since it lacks the massive amount of media fsn has
FSN since it has better porn
>ITT Tsukihime showing how it's created its own group of zoomer secondaries through melty blood TL
kek
Nobody fricking read Tsukihime in 2005. Frick, when I read it in about 2015 (having seen Fate/Zero in 2012 and read F/SN in about 2014) it seemed like I was clearly not in gateway VN territory anymore
Like I'd seriously be willing to bet that the number of westerners who read Tsukihime before 2010 was not in the thousands. When was the mirror moon TL even made?
Checking my Gamefaqs post history lmao I read Tsukihime in 2009. Jesus christ time flies.
Tsukihime was dead a frick in the 10s, many people, myself included, thought the franchise was never gonna make a comeback.
Surely the most common way for anyone to even find out about it in the west since 2006 has been to see one of the Fate anime, get interested in the source material, and then check out TM's other works
Like I literally don't know how else you would find it, maybe if you were just reading loads of VNs in general you could stumble upon it
>Tsukihime was dead a frick in the 10s
yup, Actress Again was the last swan song of all things Tsukihime, which released in 2008
type lumina exists
I was talking about the height of OG Tsukihime popularity of that era. It petered off and ended after Actress Again. Type Lumina is of the remake era which was a pitiful attempt at a revival to begin with but that's for a different thread
you're the odd one out.
>2005
>high school
???
i wasn't in high school yet in 2005
But anon, I had an LCD display
>rich homosexual
lcds weren't expensive circa 2005, they also just weren't good at all.
i wish i understood what i understand today about input lag and shit when i was competing for money in CS with a fricking 2003 LCD
I've been wondering how many other doujin series also got fangames, ive found a few like Tobi Tsukihime, its arrangement called Magical Amber, Tsukihime no Shiro, The Law of Contradiction, Battle Moon Wars and Tsukinosabaki.
Anyone know about other Tsukihime fangames? I really want to collect those, a shame I cant really read japanese or I would be all over LoC and Tsukinosabaki right now
Shirou is a better written protagonist than Shiki. Don't @ me Type Lumina zoomers.
I genuinely didn't get much about what Shiki's personality even is on a first reading besides "hey he could die at any time, did you get that life being fragile is one of the themes of this story"
at least Shirou is more strongly defined
I prefer Shiki's schizo-ness over Shirou's autism personally but they're both fantastic protagonists. Wish more VNs had interesting protags instead of the blank slate self inserts.
Shirou sucks. Even Angra is better at being Shirou.
Shirou is definitely more defined in the original work (Shiki get's more in outside work like Kagetsu and Melty Blood) but he's also frankly nowhere near as fun or enjoying to be in the POV of, and can get grating. But he's not a bad protagonist at all
Souji clears both easily.
Ciel is best girl and better than your waifu
but what if currybutt is my waifu
Good taste. Post her.
>new ciel
LIVE
also, is there a real tl of the KnK novels? I hear the old ones are "fanfiction" in the sense that whats translated isnt at all whats in the japanese script, and I dont want to get into it with the movies, feels wrong
Don’t think a proper full TL that’s good has been made yet. Movies are good enough tbh.
that really sucks, I will put it off for the time being then, call me autistic but starting with the movies just doesnt sit right with me.
I mean the regular TL’s that are out there for it are fine. It’s been TL’d in English if you want to read it
OH I didnt mean an official TL, theres just no way thats happening, I meant a somewhat decent one, guess I'll just man up and get to it when I can, busy with Gore Screaming Show currently, and I have to keep reading HA for realsies this time
guess ill be visiting /tmg/ soon, thanks for the help
No problem. Enjoy!
The KnK Ufotable movies were great and only good Ufotable TypeMoon works
Either soldier up and read the decent KnK translation floating around or learn Nip, no miracle could bring about official KnK novels getting translated at this point.
Del Rey was going to do it an went breasts up years ago, so you're completely shit out of luck and need to reign in the autism lest you intentionally avoid something you're interested in for years waiting for something that'll never come
>2005
Inwas in 6th grade, probably playing Yu gi oh or some shit like that
Tsukihime wasn't even translated in 2005.
No I read tsukihime in 2011
