It's not great.
Plus all the post first route character deaths use the same goofy "be sad now" piano track. Drakengard 3's unfunny comedy was more painful than those death scenes.
i didn't enjoy drakengard per se, but the characters were all immediately more interesting and kept me hooked. unlike nier in which im 4 hours in and have yet to find a single character i care for, the smithy brothers had me going for a moment but that was it.
caim, angelus, inuart, manah, furiae and leonard were all infinitely more intersting.

I'm going to be honest with you. Nier is really boring in literally any way shape or form until you reach the "half" of the game
That's because it's almost entirely a different team from Drakengard and none of the people who made it good. >B-but Yoko Taro-
Was literally the least relevant part of the team and was just given a "director" credit because of nepotism with his drinking pal Yuji Horii. Takamasa Shiba, Takuya Iwasaki, Sawako Natori, Akira Yasui, Hiroaki Kotake, and Hiroyuki Hayashida were the primary minds responsible for the best of Drakengard. Out of those names, only two worked on NieR: Iwasaki and Natori.
D2 isn't relevant because it's boring as fuck, they don't do anything to make the game actually stand out so it goes from a bad yet weird/interesting game to just a kind of mediocre and forgettable one.
There's a reason they immediately brought him back afterwards.
They didn't "immediately bring him back" - there was fuck-all between Drakengard 3 and Nier outside of a couple novelizations, which weren't handled by Taro but instead by Eishima Jun. And if you mean Drakengard 3, guess who they also brought back? Almost everyone in

except for Yasui, Kotake, and Hayashida (who was the biggest loss in my opinion, he was the reason Drakengard's cutscenes were so enthralling and unhinged), so yet again, you can't attribute Drakengard 3 to Taro either.
literally what reason do i have to lie? for le gamer cred? it was pure pain from start to finish, and i won't pretend i got ending E because i didn't.
>drakengard >grabbing
A game that is made of 2 levels where everything but the story is beyond dogshit "grabbed" you?

it's an entirely different tone
I still love it but I get why someone looking for more drakengard wouldn't be as into it
You should be playing the remake instead. It cleaned up the combat and added extra stuff.
>see picrel

kek
Shit same
>like drakengard did
When are you finally going to actually play Drakengard for the first time?
Did you not enjoy drakengard?

Ask me how I know you didn't play Drakengard
Daily remminder that those NIER or drakengard things you are talking about don't exist. The franchise started with 2B's game
Just have a nice day already, unfunny Personanagger
i will die to save yonah
That's a shame but understandable. I really think the remake is a better game.
still gonna beat it, i plan on playing them all in order, maybe it'll click further in who knows.
Listen to the music
>like drakengard did
You have brain damage
Legna is better than Angelus and Mikhail

This is why people who say D2 isn't relevant because Taro wasn't director are retards
D2 isn't relevant because it's boring as fuck, they don't do anything to make the game actually stand out so it goes from a bad yet weird/interesting game to just a kind of mediocre and forgettable one.

Game is le bad because... I didn't like it!!
game is le bad because no one liked it and it sold like shit lmao
Sold like shit... Like every drakengard game! Yet they're still good games.

Between Drakengard 2 and Nier, apologies.
More like DrakenGAY
You're playing the wrong version bro.

liar
Shitskin unable to comprehend people enjoy video game he doesn't

Ending E really isn't hard to get, takes a few hours from ending D. Albeit you will need to follow a guide for some weapons.
are we ever getting a game with story/characters as charming and unhinged as drakengard or was that a once in a lifetime experience?
nope
be the change you want to see in the world :^)
