I appreciate how dedicated and loving the Grim Dawn team is, too bad I absolutely fucking despise the game itself, it's such a slogfest with obnoxious progression systems.
i dont like how little difference there is between male and female models and the stiff and wooden running and attacking animations
it's a little thing but it gives the character a lot of life
Maybe gameloop wise. It's not half as iconic as d2. Fantastic game though. Can't think of a thing they handled badly.
Shame I have no clue about the story of gd.
I stopped after the crystal cowboy boss in act 2. I assume the glowing mutant aliens are the bad ones.
Writing is rather good. Certainly not worse than bg3.
>Shame I have no clue about the story of gd.
Once upon a time there were several gods, who had created their own aetherial helpers and then the world with humans. One of the gods have sacrificed his blood for making humans, went near death, went crazy and, SUPPOSEDLY, have spawned demons to collect his blood back (or demons are just using him). Many relatively good gods like sun god and some healing goddess went SOMEWHERE, leaving only relatively bitter gods like brother of the sun god.
Aetherials god jealous of humans and their world.
Three human sorcerers fucked up brother of sun god and were using his power until gd, where they had reverted themselves to human forms of "mortal leaders" of witch cults and later reinstated themselves as gods with your help in the end of a second addon.
There is also huge void thingy, that is just hungry for souls. Considering other lore of grim dawn, it could be connected with the sun god (but that is just my speculations).
There is also human-ascended-to-god nature god, who is relatively pro-humanity, and his cannibalistic rival god Ravager.
Mostly everybody (with a few exceptions) are trying to gain as much power as possible, fuck their direct opponents and rule the world. Humanity tries to survive.
>Aetherials god jealous of humans and their world.
In the intro they said they were the first and humans came later. (pretty much like in the dos games. Even same mint green like in dos2.) >SOMEWHERE
Hence forgotten gods, got it.
Is ravager the one god from the shrine?
What were the production costs of gd? How many worked on it? Was it really planned 2011? It is a clone of diablo 2. What took so long? Balancing?
This is all completely fucking wrong, so wrong it's not even funny.
Ch'thon was the first and mightiest god. He created others. They in turn created aetherials. Shit happened, they decided that they don't need big daddy anymore and cut him, bled him, maimed him and cast him out of all of reality, but even that was not enough to kill him, just drive him insane with suffering, creating material reality and all living beings with his blood inside of them in the process, which is why cults ofCh'thon collect blood and why summoning abominations doing that actually works, because they are correct. All of blood in creation belongs to him because all in creation and creation itself was made out of him by the apostate gods.
Some time after the gods continue their wars and since the big daddy isn't there anymore to tell them to fuck off with that, they used aetherials ruthlessly as their pawns. Long story short, the side that used them got defeated and aetherials (who had no choice but to serve their masters) got cast out of reality as well to the same space Ch'thon inhabited. It's not a fun place to be in, as you learn later yourself. Understandably, Aetherials were very unhappy and they ended up coming back with a vengeance, shitting all over the mortal world the gods created and all over their followers. Except one tiny little mishap happened.
You see, Aetherials are bodi-less creatures, they never really had physical forms and the process of possessing human beings with their own fleshy desires and ambitions also changed them. Many aetherials began to veer away from the plan and just indulge their own urges to murder torture, grow in power and do whatever the fuck and it was only further compounded by the fact that it was much easier for them to possess the scum of society, whereas virtuous people with strong character tended to resist possession unless they literally inhabited their dead bodies, but that usually did not allow them to blend in.
So the Aetherials that stayed behind the veil phone to Earth and ask them "What the fuck are you retards actually doing, we need these bodies and humanity as vessels to go to war with the gods and get our sweet revenge" and in response they get varying degrees of "I'M TOO BUSY RAPING EVERYONE FOR FUN, SORRY". So their plans really go fucking nowhere after that.
The witch gods are just ascended mortals, they are not really important as are the human mages that do some stupid shit and end up burnt. The important part is that Grim Dawn made a hole in reality big enough for all sorts of creatures to start pouring through along with aetherials, mainly Ch'thon creatures, which all essentially are parts of the mutilated god, just as angry and deranged as ever and there's cults big and ancient enough to start tearing the veil open even wider to summon shit like the Logorrhean which is really bad news because while undoing all of reality and giving his kids some discipline would be the right thing to do, it'd result in everyone alive becoming dead, so everyone could agree that it's even worse than Aetherials.
is there an explanation why mc gets retard strong and starts slaying eldritch naggers left and right?

Anonymous
There's two explanations. One is that you're a very special case - a mortal that got possessed by a very powerful aetherial, quite possibly the big initiator of the Grim Dawn. So part of his power stayed with you, or maybe he never truly left and you are just doing his bidding and cleaning up the aetherials that don't follow the plan, help out the witch gods to divert their attention from the things going on and clean out the Ch'thon, so that they have a reality to stage their vengeance from. That's one theory. The other is that he's the player character, so he gets to do cool stuff no one else does.

first one doesn't make much sense because a powerful aether israelite wouldn't just let people hang him. So that just leaves murderhobo theory

He might have if he wanted to inhabit a different body real quick. We have no idea what he was doing with the main character while he was still controlling him. Living possessed were much more rare compared to the reanimated dead that followed the Grim Dawn.

I don't remember AoM all that well, do you end up meeting the aetherial that inhabited the mc originally?
Silly how people believe you were THE Aetherial when we know exactly who it was and they were not at the top of the hierarchy.

No outright explanation, but there's a sort of handwave in that the Aetherial who possessed you was doing some fuckery with your brain
Creed also wonders how it's possible in one of his journal entries, theorizing that you're somehow on the path to becoming a demigod
>It's not half as iconic as d2
Wow, maybe that's because d2 was released during an early era of gaming? and is the game the genre is mostly based on??? Who could have thought??? Fucking dumb retard
Gee, I hope you clown never look into a mirror, your stupidity would kill you instantly.
You do realize that gd is a good clone, but there are plenty of things that d2 does better? Admittedly, game play is no such thing.
The basic story is that a zombie apocalypse called the Grim Dawn™ fucked everything up, and as you go along you find out it was deliberately caused by powerful people who turn out to have been acting on the behalf of a long-exiled race of beings called the Aetherials who call the whole thing the Glorious Dawn.
But another faction known as the cult of C'thon have been thriving on the chaos as well. They are literal blood for the blood god nutters who want to gather the blood from everyone still alive to summon a super demon from the void.
The lore says that C'thon is a god who was betrayed by his children and cast into the void so they could use his blood to create and rule Cairn.
>acting on the behalf of a long-exiled race
The Grim Dawn™ was caused by the Aetherials themselves. They were created beings meant to serve the Primordial Gods until a godly civil war happened with one of the outcomes being Aetherials cast off into the aether, effectively. Part of the reason that they invaded Cairn was because they wanted bodies however they are oftentime outmatched by the raw human emotion and sometimes unable to fight off the desire of the body that they snatched (with one example being the Aetherial who possessed Warden Krieg).
It's a bit up in the air who actually caused what, as it turns out the Aetherial "consensus" is to just keep an eye on Cairn without interfering, and it's actually a rogue faction that's invading.
A faction that may well have gone rogue exactly because human emotions like greed and ambition turn out to have been gazing back into the Aetherials originally tasked with keeping an eye on things.
women have to know when we see the tearing mascara that we want to fuck their brains out, right?
You mean it doesn't play often enough.
Granted, that would mean more tracks, but Malmouth had top tier stuff. Forgotten gods at least nailed the final boss
>the reputation system locking quests behind grind >the game not giving you enough levels unless you go through it multiple times >made me fall asleep faster than torchlight
idk man, i like a lot of things about it like how it doesn't shy away from giving you a literal screen length description of percentages/proc chances that have nothing to do with ur build
How are they making this when they fork on their city builder game? I thought they were like 10-15 guys. But yeah I'm looking forward to it as well, the other expansions were fun.
It's crazy how old this game is, I remember reading an article about former TitanQuest devs making a new game around 2011 and seeing the pre-alpha screenshots.
They're not all working on the same project. For example: there are at least three guys working on a survival horror game that never gets brought up because nobody else seems to know about it on Ganker.
Because nobody knows anything about it. They talked about it a few times, but it was at most a mention of a project. So there is really not much to talk about.
There was that Amazonian tribe too but not technically a country of course. Still funny to imagine two-digit IQ caniiballistic jungle naggers in loincloth think, "fucking israelites".
Pretty much every class combo has something viable. Maybe not minmaxxed but something that's viable. Like I was a necromancer+occultist but shaman+occultist is just a little bit better and the game was still piss easy.
>necro skills
Imagine playing necromancer for anything other than the skeleton army and blight friend. Who the fuck picks a necromancer in order to not do necromancy? A homosexual, that's who.
Yeah that's why I picked necromancer+occultist, for skeletons. Totems are more useful though. There's also basically no pet gear for vitality damage until the late post game while you can buff fire damage the second you finish act 1.
I hated D4 so I fired up this again and did a Necro/Occultist run and its fucking amazing. Even on Veteran my minion army was murdering shit left and right.
Just go with what sounds fun to you.
>Even on Veteran my minion army was murdering shit left and right
What do you mean "even"? It's the easiest difficulty and it's piss easy with just about any build.
For GD you only need to understand how resistance reduction works. Skills are easy - if damage/absorbtion/resistance numbers matter - pump points, want to get utility - 1 point is enough, dw skill chance caps at 5 points.
I'm something of a retard myself. I've beaten a few loot'em'ups by picking whatever every level with no planning. You don't need any prep or optimization to beat the campaign on normal in any of these. Just stack elemental resists if you are getting melted, and max out some damage skill.
For GD I made a bunch of characters in parallel to see what sticks, didn't even bother multiclassing much. It sucks that the map is fixed in this one, but it's fun to pass around rare items that your current character has no use for.
>she should have low bf like a man >it would be even better if she injected testosterone and became even more like a man
sorry no kil lyourself, her tasteful abs buried below a slight layer of bodyfat as a healthy woman would have are infinitely more attractive

>Have you considered bla bla bla
I should? I thought I was just making an offhand remark with a reaction image not trying to study marketplaces and advertisement.
in that context, yes, it is supposed that she usually wears that
do you think she's exposing her body just for a quick pic for a videogame? you dumb anon?
>main game and some adding were in cool and original gothic world >blazing sands or what's his name set in generic fantasy arabian setting >now this, a generic fantasy viking setting
Why?
I stopped played after hitting a brick wall and mobs got so many fucking magic effect suffixes I get insta-killed 95% of the time. Aether is the worst. I thought my vita/life damage/steal lightning 2hand shaman was good but holy shit. I can't even find a decent middle ground because the second I remove points from offensive traits and I put them in defensive I can't kill enemies quickly enough and they just overwhelm and chip me down. Also doesn't help that literally nothing drops my Shaman can use, I have almost complete sets of blue/purple gear for other classes except the one I'm playing.
Necromancer is really fun, might try Death Knight-type of build
Depending on when you last played monsters with equipment got nerfed pretty hard. A patch or two ago they put a limit on how many rare items humanoid enemies can have so you don't end up fighting the occasional demigod-tier hero with 190% overcapped resistances and +800% increased damage from his four GG rares.
>rare items humanoid enemies can have so you don't end up fighting the occasional demigod-tier hero with 190% overcapped resistances and +800% increased damage from
Wait, Humans actually use the gear that's equipped on them?
For a game like grim dawn, that's completely stupid.
>Humans actually use the gear that's equipped on them
Come on, how new are you? It was one of the features marketed as an innovation in Titan Quest. Grim Dawn is just a giant TQ mod after all.
>Lead Artist: Benjamin Soderstrom >Senior Artist: Scott Duquette >Artist: Jim Dobbler
Based on searching them individually it's probably Scott Duquette. Wouldn't rule out Soderstrom completely but his 2d is much less impressive than his 3d. Jim Dobbler's results are almost all 3d environment stuff.
>best
to each their own
base game is cheap as dirt during sales
DLCs are vastly overpriced
that's their business model ATM
meanwhile, except for latest DLC, i got entire TQ1 for less than $10.
grim dawn is what happens when you add too much.
its an arpg for people who are addicted to arpgs.
tq1 is an arpg for people with a social life beyond their battlestations.
>it gets good if you have a social life
What kind of retarded reasoning is this? If you have shit to do in your life, I can't imagine why you'd waste your idle time playing a boring ass game like TQ1
I'm not a diehard ARPG fan so I can't compare it to a ton of other games but the setting is nice, gameplay feels good, there seems to be a lot of build variety and it isn't that expensive. I liked it a lot.
Think Diablo, but the maps are static, and everything from walk speed to attack animations is at about 50-70% the speed of D2 (thats not an exaggeration). Its called "Grim Yawn" for a reason.
With those said to be fair, there is a good depth to the gear and a lot of build verity. There is a lot of good stuff in the game.
So if you're looking for a far more chill (read: slow) diablo 2 experience, check it out
>every character picks 2 classes and they get full access to both skill trees >3 skill points per level for the first 50 levels, then 2 skill points per level until 90 and then 1 skill point per level for the crawl to 100 >has another build system where you get points from specific locations in the world instead of exp, most of your character's poe-like stat passives come from that >enemies actually use the items they drop, which can be scary as fuck >everything is level scaled but done in a way that your character noticeably gets better despite it >bosses are tanky as fuck and there's nothing you can do about it
I think that's about it
i dunno, the more I play the more I feel like if I am not making some meta build, I just waaaay weaker than I should be. There are all of these skills, but most are useless in the context of the game. god help you if stray from a meta build. I hate when games make their own skills uselss
There are viable builds for every class combination. Why make false complaints about a game you've barely touched?
https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/build-compendium-x-forgotten-gods/49673
lol no there isn't. There are literally skills in the game which are absolutely useless. Add to the fact that you HAVE to pick a second class for no other reason than you need that class's good skills because half of your original class's skills are useless.
Not going to repeat what everyone else said but going to point out the game has some really damn nice writing. Doesn't bog itself down with excessive lore autism but there's enough to make everything interesting, there's context for just about every enemy, plenty of lore notes that are interesting to read and easy to follow without having to whip out a fucking glossary every couple of minutes like most fantasy garbage likes to do.
It's okay.
In comparison to PoE it's significantly slower and deliberate. It has quite a large area for buildmaking, there's a possibility of hipster setups and for example summoner hybrid is posible here and retaliation builds are viable in comparison...
But no there's endgame. Crucible - arena where you're swarmed with mobs and bosses in waves. Shattered realms - bite sized PoE maps chained together. You're getting gear from those places.
Some setups require build enabling uniques and in case of summoner it's spiritbinder glyph and voidwhisper band. And you need two and it's random drop only. It's infuriating.
I too was grinding sr75. I collect everything on mule characters and still missing one voidwhisper for chaos conversion shenanigans and blightshard amulet for fart blightboyes.
I've got sick of farming and not having them and I'm not going to totems or crucible. There is (one) proper endgame venue.
endgame in grim dawn is just fucking around in grimtools and making new builds. alternately making builds that speedrun crucible/SR75-76/ravager
Ye. Something like that. Especially cool to make a build around triple MI rares and +5 badge of mastery and never ever getting it online.
I keeptrying to lay my necro, but then I read if I don't make a specific build then I will never be good in end game. I hate that shit. Why do devs always make meta builds the only viable way to play. I just want to be a minion master and no I don't ant to use other classes. But nope, need to spec other dumb shit and play in some other fag way
Anyone who talks about "good in the endgame" in Grim Dawn is referring to shattered worlds stage 54910348129538912030 instead of roguelike level 100 dungeons. You'll be fine.
I actually wonder if they're going to incorporate any elements from the Community League. It has a pretty decent take on Asterkarn. Not fantastic, but decent
How does Torchlight 2 rate among the competition? I've played a single character ages ago, engineer or something. I remember some rapid fire skill with knockback feeling really good and engaging, you had to continuously herd the mob with it like it's Serious Sam, but it ended up doing no damage later.
I don't like it very much but it has a lot of mods. If you don't mind the lack of multiplayer and bugged skills I unironically think Torchlight 1 is better.
Disappointing after the one playthrough. Devs dropping all support right after release didn't help either.
Meanwhile Grim Dawn has been in active development since 2006.
It's really good. Torchlight was always been one of those that some people will love it to death and others will shit on it or say is boring. It really sucks that you can't even play coop anymore though.
Good for 1 or 2 playthroughs. Unbalanced, super simplistic, many of the classes all have cloned samey skills (like straight up clone). Barely and build variety. I think i got like 85 hours out of it and i even modded the game with that one big content mod after i was done with my character just to get some more content to do.
was having fun with this game until I lost three hours of progress because the game just decided to stop saving, now I have 0 interest in playing anymore
I beat the game and the DLCs once as Soldier+Necro (I wanted the Death Knight roided up by unholy magic angle but necromancer was a bit too caster oriented) but I reformatted by PC before I could get into the endgame, my save might've been uploaded to the cloud but in case it hasn't, what are some other fun melee builds? I prefer heads on roid rage shit where you just charge in.
We all know that PoE literally ended for better or worse all types of Arpg.
When you try any other that follow another more slow mechanics, it fails so miserably that is embarrassing to watch.
I spend so much time with a F2P Arpg that paying for an objectively worse experience.
Some cases maybe exceptions,(Wolcen) but putting an even worse mechanic, the soulslike shit.
I got less then 24hs, literally finish the main campaign and then all the dlcs, and still was boring af.
I just hope than other devs sees this and act accordingly, because PoE mechanics aren't that innovative, just sped up and make dynamic classes.
Out of all things I could complain about GD (and I do) I never once thought about colours or palettes and being in dozens of threads I've never seen anyone complain about it either. Just saying. But that's alright, different tastes after all.
>I've never seen anyone complain about it either. I complain about it in every thread, I guess we never crossed
I know having lots of damage types and stuff uses several colours, but I find like teal being one of the predominant colours is a bad choice, it feels ugly, weak, and it's even used for your mana bar.
Also chaos, it's not red, it's not pink, it's weird, a mix that doesn't feel okay
Like you said, different tastes.
I wish I didn't care about that colour thing
>what does my main skill sound like and look like >what color is my screen going to be full of in 40 hours >what gear fits thematically with my character
These are all very important but people ignore it. Force Wave is god tier but it sounds awful so I don't play that character anymore.

After playing path of exile toxic rain and sunder I find it extremely important how it looks and sounds like.
>think about doing X build >play for an hour >drop it because it's not fun yet >okay, maybe Y build is better >play for an hour >drop it because its not fun yet
I hate Act 1.
The biggest filter for my characters is level 35ish around Fort Ikon in Normal/Veteran where they have their main skill ready but lack important devotions and the next 20 levels are just pumping masteries
>The biggest filter for my characters is level 35ish around Fort Ikon >get the difficulty unlocker orb in the sand nagger area on another character >use it on new character >equip new character with +XP gear >load new character into elite difficulty >teleports are unlocked due to difficulty unlocker >spend 5 minutes teleporting around picking up the easy lore notes in hub areas >read them all to get to level 35 with 0 effort
Glad they're giving it another expansion. I always enjoy playing Grim Dawn. It's not exactly high quality but it's not bogged by modern day MTX bullshit, just a video game.
She cute, but Necromancer poster girl is still my waifu.
Otherwise, mildly hyped. Never thought that I would touch it again after putting 1.5k hours in it.
easily my favorite arpg
the aesthetics and setting is pretty great. Not-warhammer fantasy is about the only way to top diablo1/2's grim fantasy feeling
>the witches have dedicated lines when you arrive if you're an inquisitor >inquisitors have to go through an additional conversation to convince the necromancer faction's envoy if you want to ally with them
It's the little touches
You WILL read every word of every quest.
You WILL download this PDF and read every Note: https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/grim-dawn-lore-notes-pdf-and-ebook-epub-new-update-1-1-9-0/50203
The base game usually goes on sale with a pretty good discount, but they'll still goy you for the DLCs. If you don't mind that business model, go ahead.
Speaking of Grim Dawn endgame:
The real GD endgame is when you stop grinding and start to create builds in Grim Stash from scratch, using the most broken and hard to get greens (aka all of them).
If you don't think so, you just havent ascended yet, but it will come eventually.
Vitality damage, life steal, bleed, lightning(+chain lighting for aoe) 2 hand weapon Shaman.
1. Place vit dmg/life steal totem near group of monsters
2. left/right click stackable and spreadable lightning attacks on monsters
3. ???
4. Profit
If you're bored you can add some secondary spells to your build like parasite swarm or something. Also it really helps if you get the 2-hand club from that huge, underground troll boss (forgot how he's called) around lvl 35-40, that shit has massive vitality and bleed damage, or just anything that adds to vit damage, life steal, bleed and/or lightning damage.
the only real problem with GD, besides the game not having a double speed option, is a certain fucking motherfucker who thinks a singleplayer game needs constant nerfing of fun builds and he especially hates making things such as dual pistols and ice and lightning builds weaker compared to much more boring shit
fucking motherfucker needs to stop with that shit JUST FUCKING STOP IT'S A SINGLEPLAYER GAME WHO GIVES A SHIT IF SOMETHING IS A BIT MORE OP, IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE BORING AND STERILE AND NERFED TO SHIT ALL THE TIME THERE IS NOTHING COMPETITIVE ABOUT THE GAME NO GAY ASS SEASONS OR ANYTHING STOOOOOOPPP YOU MOTHERFUCKING CUNT
>grim dawn is getting ANOTHER expansion
Dammit I waited years for all the content to be released so I can play it without missing anything. These devs just don't want to let me forget this game exists.
Anyway here's my 1 max level character
>do 4 man party ultimate multiplayer >get showered with legendaries
that was funny, but i kinda dislike how the game makes me constantly micro manage my inventory like that
>played this game for nearly a decade >only ever played multiplayer once or twice for a very short time
I wish I had friends who played this or spent any time at all in the game.
should still be ok. i know there's a internal trauma CD forcewave build right now that can kill crate of entertainment with 2 forcewave hits in like 20s.
What's the point of expansions anymore? It's of no interest to new players because the game is long as fuck already, and I'm pretty sure they won't make the exp so hard it poses any challenge to people who have already finished the game, grinded some bosses, ran some realms and absolutely faceroll everything. I'm not even going to bother to pirate this.
Forgotten Gods was so hard it forced Crate to rebalance the entire game so it wouldn't stomp you in the face. Korvaak is classified as a superboss. New expansion is probably going to be hard as fuck.
they are toning down the trash loot in the next update in favor of less, but better quality loot. and rainbow loot filter isn't really a full fledged mod, it's literally just some txt file edits
Realistically the only really essential one is Grim Internals mostly for the game speed slider. You want to set the game speed to at least 1.33x, otherwise there is a legitimate risk of falling asleep while playing Grim Dawn.
is there a better way of power leveling solo than chugging an xp potion and an ultimate unlock and just doing the act 1 quests? leaves me around level 45 which still feels uncomfortably low to start doing ultimate but i'm sick of playing through the whole game three times on every single character before i get to see how well a build works.
this will probably sound like a retarded complaint to most but i don't like it when games release dlcs for old games after years and years of hiatus
everytime that happened the new assets always stand out, they're always much more detailed compared to the old ones
If you guys ever get bored of the main game, try the Diablo 2 conversion mod. Idk how balanced it is though considering I only got through with a good pet build
this game unironically has too many stats, I get that you eventually learn how to sift through it like the people in the Matrix learning how to read all the code but when you're a new player it's overwhelming to get a drop with 10 effects on it and you're not even sure which of them are good
>Health and Energy Potions have been removed from the game. The character now has potion skills baseline and does not need to keep them in their inventory. Dedicated potion buttons have been added to the Quickbar. >You can now disable visuals for toggled buffs in the game options to improve visual clarity on your character and to show off all that gear.
not bad
Why the fuck overhauling entire game so long time after? Thank gods i have pirated current version. >All loot tables have been overhauled with 30-60% less items dropping. To compensate, loot quality and iron bits drops have been significantly increased.
Enjoy your korean PoE. >A new base Evade skill has been added, bound to Spacebar by default. Evade interrupts any other action to immediately dash in the desired direction and offers a brief invulnerability window (iframes).
Keep rolling, homosexuals.
Enjoy your GD2, i'm out.
>You can now disable visuals for toggled buffs in the game options to improve visual clarity on your character and to show off all that gear.
Finally, fashion dawn
>Health and Energy Potions have been removed from the game. The character now has potion skills baseline and does not need to keep them in their inventory. Dedicated potion buttons have been added to the Quickbar.
makes sense tbh, those dropped like crazy and there wasn't any way to use them all with the cooldown anyway
>All loot tables have been overhauled with 30-60% less items dropping. To compensate, loot quality and iron bits drops have been significantly increased. >All Bosses now have a 100% chance to drop their (non-legendary) Monster Infrequents. >A new base Evade skill has been added, bound to Spacebar by default. Evade interrupts any other action to immediately dash in the desired direction and offers a brief invulnerability window (iframes). >Monsters with charge abilities are now slower when charging and have a finite pursue range. >Tripled the rate of infamy gain with the Outcast faction when choosing to be hostile. >Doubled the rate of fame/infamy gained with Kymon’s Chosen and the Order of Death’s Vigil.
The more I read the more It feels I should just play after they get bored of patching this game
Thx, this game seems cool. >Grim Dawn takes place in Cairn, a setting in which humanity has been brought to near extinction by a trans-dimensional war.
Its always trannies.
My one problem with Grim Dawn is that they allow you to make choices and shit, but none of them have consequences. Real consequences, not just an NPC showing up to try to kill you because you killed her father but then barely putting on a fight.
Also, I suspect there is or was a single person responsible for writing dialogue who was very much a feminist, but the dumbest one in history. You can tell when something was written by that person because, in the middle of the literal apocalypse, characters stop to complain about feminist issues. One of the ladies in the Arabian Nights DLC is bothered by some guy in the same faction being creepily in love with her, shit like that. Elsa is the most egregious one, you're sent on a quest to save her, you find her and realize she doesn't need saving and Mornay is just an idiot who is allowing his feelings to interfere with his duty. Cool. Why not make Elsa relevant somehow? Or, even better, Mornay seems to have some power and influence and his incompetence has been established, why not use THAT? Why not make it so Mornay's stupidity caused the failure that allowed Devil's Crossing to be attacked and breached in the beginning of Malmouth's arc?
that's the problem with these games, most of the lore is contained in notes scrapped throught the game and quests but player dont really bother to read them past that, i liked how in diablo 3 everytime you killed a new type of mob or found new lore there was always a voiced clip for it, honestly one of the most memorable things diablo 3 did ingame imo.
i don't think other games of the same genre ever tried to replicate the same thing
I don't really give a fuck about lore in an ARPG, but if you're gonna write it, make it coherent and decent. Diablo 3 bothered me a lot in this sense. Diablo was always about a hero chasing a terrible foe, fighting a battle they could never win. They could injure the physical manifestation of evil, but never kill evil itself. So in the first game you'd have a dude walking into a church in a doomed town to try to stop the apocalypse, only to find that he could only delay it for a few decades by paying the price of sacrificing himself. Then in Diablo 2 you had to chase the hero of the first game around the world in the hopes of maybe stopping the return of evil itself. It was always a story about battling against all odds, being an underdog.
Then Diablo 3 comes around and cultists who are serving the demons who are raising zombies and monsters all over the place are afraid of the main character as if they were henchmen of a Nazi officer in a Captain America comic book. Does it affect the game? No. But it's terrible writing and whoever did it should be ashamed.
>My one problem with Grim Dawn is that they allow you to make choices and shit, but none of them have consequences. Real consequences, not just an NPC showing up to try to kill you because you killed her father but then barely putting on a fight.
Well yeah, they are not real RPGs >The rest
Eh, I don't see it nor do I care
All the good sidequests don't even bother with that
TQ has possibly the coolest pet builds in the genre, right after D2 necro. But the other playstyles are certainly very clunky, especially after the recharge nerf in AE.
AFK through the game tier >only pet stats matter, can ignore 99% of drops >pets pull aggro as long as you don't attack first >if something does aggro you, just walk around until they shift back to the pets
reducing drop rates but generally improving quality is good
grim dawn has a built-in filler because of all the garbage (you filter out) that drops
don't get me wrong, it's not as bad as PoE where 99.9% of the drops are all filtered because it's all total garbage
honestly arpgs need to do away with garbage drops, but that's where the dopamine hits come from
it would be if it was released in a year appropriate to the engine, so somewhere around 2011. this game is so astonishingly dated it's genuinely confusing when you look at the release date.
I appreciate how dedicated and loving the Grim Dawn team is, too bad I absolutely fucking despise the game itself, it's such a slogfest with obnoxious progression systems.
Grim Dawn is legit better than Diablo >= 2
>Tier 1 cancer is better than tier 2 cancer
Wowiesowie!
>stage
>tier
como estas, Joao
>worse atmosphere
>worse skills
>worse story
>worse music
>worse items
how is gd better than d2?
>muh opionion > your onionpinon *starts crying and shitting your pants*
you talking about yourself?
>worse skills
>d2
>skills
It has like, 3 skills per class, fuck off
(You)
I unironically agree
You are very stupid person. Very stupid.
fuck off blizzdrone
you sound bitchy & autistic
have a nice day tranny homosexual
mad lol. its ok pumpkin, need a nap? maybe a juicebox?
i could go for some apple cider ngl
Once you unlock the alt-friendly items you can easily play multiple characters and test builds. The progression is well balanced.
Wanted to get the achievements but realised I need every char at a high level for that and simply don't have the time.
How do alt-friendly items work?
i dont like how little difference there is between male and female models and the stiff and wooden running and attacking animations
it's a little thing but it gives the character a lot of life
Wrong genre?
Maybe gameloop wise. It's not half as iconic as d2. Fantastic game though. Can't think of a thing they handled badly.
Shame I have no clue about the story of gd.
>Shame I have no clue about the story of gd.
How? Do you not read dialogue?
Even same mint green like in dos2.)
>SOMEWHERE
Hence forgotten gods, got it.
Is ravager the one god from the shrine?
What were the production costs of gd? How many worked on it? Was it really planned 2011? It is a clone of diablo 2. What took so long? Balancing?
Thank you very much for the qrd
Cont'd
First one is bullshit, you literally kill that nigga bitch behind a wall in Malmouth
Aether israelites NEED to snatch bodies
I don't remember AoM all that well, do you end up meeting the aetherial that inhabited the mc originally?
Yes.
https://grimdawn.fandom.com/wiki/The_Other_You
Silly how people believe you were THE Aetherial when we know exactly who it was and they were not at the top of the hierarchy.
I mean you get away with a lot of stuff
It's not that rare to expect dumb theories to explain such a high powerlevel
If there were less humans I could believe it more, but there's a lot of soldiers and armies still capable of fighting
Yeah I agree it's fair. We did go a long time without knowing much about the Taken.
Bysmiel is a shameless simp collector, yes.
Blood of ch'thon is an item, eh?
According to the cult all blood is c'thon's, yes. The vials they drop for crafting are just human blood with a ritual mumbled over it or something.
Cool. Is there a flavour text for it?
While we are at it? Where to farm fire rifles 2h? Grim tools won't load for me. :/
It's because the music sucks. You gotta put your own tunes on and get into the grind.
You mean it doesn't play often enough.
Granted, that would mean more tracks, but Malmouth had top tier stuff. Forgotten gods at least nailed the final boss
>the reputation system locking quests behind grind
>the game not giving you enough levels unless you go through it multiple times
>made me fall asleep faster than torchlight
idk man, i like a lot of things about it like how it doesn't shy away from giving you a literal screen length description of percentages/proc chances that have nothing to do with ur build

Beat me to it
How are they making this when they fork on their city builder game? I thought they were like 10-15 guys. But yeah I'm looking forward to it as well, the other expansions were fun.
It's crazy how old this game is, I remember reading an article about former TitanQuest devs making a new game around 2011 and seeing the pre-alpha screenshots.
They're not all working on the same project. For example: there are at least three guys working on a survival horror game that never gets brought up because nobody else seems to know about it on Ganker.
Because nobody knows anything about it. They talked about it a few times, but it was at most a mention of a project. So there is really not much to talk about.
i will now buy your game. Jk it's on gog so I'll pirate it but good job nonetheless
I wish the character wasn't a default model with equipment slapped on.
Never played Grim Dawn. Always something else come up, Is this new DLC? is it out or when will release? I will probably play the game when this drop.
Release date is somewhere in 2024.
How do I get into these games without getting bogged down worrying over the build mechanics.
Do I just go with my gut, and pick what skills sound cool together? Or should I be glimpsing over a guide, my first time.
are you mentally disabled? Turn off your wifi if you're that much of an npc
its at least 110 now, Yemen was the most recent one.
There was that Amazonian tribe too but not technically a country of course. Still funny to imagine two-digit IQ caniiballistic jungle naggers in loincloth think, "fucking israelites".
play victor vran instead, you dont need to use a guide for it
You can easily beat the game without looking at guides and then respec and follow a build guide later if you want to get into more endgame content.
Pretty much every class combo has something viable. Maybe not minmaxxed but something that's viable. Like I was a necromancer+occultist but shaman+occultist is just a little bit better and the game was still piss easy.
How is shaman+occultist better?
Also
>every class combo has something viable
*cough*defiler*cough*
Totems are more useful than the necro skills.
>necro skills
Imagine playing necromancer for anything other than the skeleton army and blight friend. Who the fuck picks a necromancer in order to not do necromancy? A homosexual, that's who.
Yeah that's why I picked necromancer+occultist, for skeletons. Totems are more useful though. There's also basically no pet gear for vitality damage until the late post game while you can buff fire damage the second you finish act 1.
People do classless runs of this game, it really doesn't matter. Respecs are cheap too. Just go with whatever flavour/theme you want.
It sucks that the map is fixed in this one, but it's fun to pass around rare items that your current character has no use for.
you don't need to spec into a build in ANY action rpg ever made to beat the story. Only for endgame and multiplayer content
Pick any class combo, dump points into physique unless you need some extra points for gear. You're good to go.
>dump points into physique
lmao look at this shitter living in the past
I'm playing this since release. I still dump points into physique, even after that update. It still works.
How and when did the meta of physique being the only attribute that matters change?
This genre is honestly funner with bad builds.
The most fun I had in Grim Dawn was with a glass cannon build that was in no way optimal. Optimal builds make the game boring as all fuck.
>a glass cannon build
That's like, the only way to play for me
No physique points at all
grim yawn
Literally never coming out, and that 1.2 update too
I'm more interested in Titan Quest 2, assuming that THQ/Embracer or whatever don't feel like canceling it.
Terrible armor design. Do better, Crate Entertainment.
>cold environment
>makes sure to wear fur to warmth
>expose big areas of body so you freeze to death
Immersion ruined. Disbelief NOT suspended.
She's supposed to look sexy, not realistic.
It's a cold mountain, but not as cold as she.
the game is about getting better stuff.
Alright, I can work with that.
Exactly.
She needs more ripped abs, that would fix everything
>she should have low bf like a man
>it would be even better if she injected testosterone and became even more like a man
sorry no kil lyourself, her tasteful abs buried below a slight layer of bodyfat as a healthy woman would have are infinitely more attractive
>visible muscle and curves in right places are mutually exclusive
See thats where youre wrong Pedro
Shoulda specificied NATURAL curves. Nobody who is fit has natural big tits.
Keep coping.
nobody said shit about curves you just can't read
Fake tits. Disgusting tranny abomination.
seek help you retarded mongoloid. You'll never find a woman and the only females who will have sex with you are whores. Alternatively go back to your tranime waifu garbage. Cunt LMAO
Fit women > landwhales
Sorry for your shit taste
She can turn into a bear when she's cold.
Sex sells. Have you never heard that expression before?
I'm too autistic for sex to work on me as an advertising technique. It's just annoying if I'm being honest.
Have you considered most of the people in the world are not like you? That is why you do not get a big market.
>Have you considered bla bla bla
I should? I thought I was just making an offhand remark with a reaction image not trying to study marketplaces and advertisement.
huh?
>posing for a picture means you wear that all the time
stop being retarded
pot calling the kettle black
in that context, yes, it is supposed that she usually wears that
do you think she's exposing her body just for a quick pic for a videogame? you dumb anon?
nords naturally have 50% frost resistance
She's canadian.
For her, it's only cold if it's actually snowing and the ground is icy.
>main game and some adding were in cool and original gothic world
>blazing sands or what's his name set in generic fantasy arabian setting
>now this, a generic fantasy viking setting
Why?
Really appreciate how the artist drew a leather thigh high stocking.
Always stack resistances to full, no exceptions, and nothing will 1 hit you.
What difficulty are you even in?
Just get smash n grab so you don't get cucked by the default 1 point per every level while we increase the difficulty by tenfold design
>I have almost complete sets of blue/purple gear for other classes except the one I'm playing.
welcome to grim dawn
Unironic skill issue.
A new DLC? Neat.
How was the Forgotten Gods DLC?
Really good.
Did you notice those puppies as well?
I think everyone did. They're hard to miss.
Hobocore.
Sending enemies into the stratosphere with a crit melee hit never stops being funny. The physics are hilarious.
do female characters even look like women in this game?
This chick's in the game as an NPC and she looks exactly as depicted here.
based
cringe
Whatever you say coomer. It's not like you're gonna play this game, or any other for that matter.
the game is in isometric perspective and its about killing hordes of monsters, its irrelevant how anybody looks up close in the game.
women have to know when we see the tearing mascara that we want to fuck their brains out, right?
That's a Witch God assuming a physical form.
and? she has running mascara in a sexy way, and she knows it, to make my pee pee hard.
Who does Grim Dawn's cover art?
I would definitely play a merely-average ARPG if it was full-3D and had lewd character models and outfits.
>Lead Artist: Benjamin Soderstrom
>Senior Artist: Scott Duquette
>Artist: Jim Dobbler
Based on searching them individually it's probably Scott Duquette. Wouldn't rule out Soderstrom completely but his 2d is much less impressive than his 3d. Jim Dobbler's results are almost all 3d environment stuff.
thanks anon

Sexo
IS this game good?
Always kinda had an eye on it, but it looked kinda sloppy. Worth picking up on sale in a few weeks?
Ive only ever played diablo games and path of exile for this genre. How is this one different, can i get a qrd
Best offline single player ARPG on the market right now.
Not even exaggerating
>best
to each their own
base game is cheap as dirt during sales
DLCs are vastly overpriced
that's their business model ATM
meanwhile, except for latest DLC, i got entire TQ1 for less than $10.
Yeah but Titan Quest is boring as shit, so there's that.
grim dawn is what happens when you add too much.
its an arpg for people who are addicted to arpgs.
tq1 is an arpg for people with a social life beyond their battlestations.
Not really. You're thinking of Path of Exile. You can go at whatever pace you want in GD. Baffling post.
You're thinking of PoE.
>GD
>too much
Jesus Christ. PoE is that and has been for many years, part of why it's such an awful game (subjectively and objectively)
>GD
>too much
D3, 4 and PoE are too much. GD only has up to 3 expansions. It's not upping levels, constellations or any cap of any sort.
>it gets good if you have a social life
What kind of retarded reasoning is this?
So if you're looking for a far more chill (read: slow) diablo 2 experience, check it out
>every character picks 2 classes and they get full access to both skill trees
>3 skill points per level for the first 50 levels, then 2 skill points per level until 90 and then 1 skill point per level for the crawl to 100
>has another build system where you get points from specific locations in the world instead of exp, most of your character's poe-like stat passives come from that
>enemies actually use the items they drop, which can be scary as fuck
>everything is level scaled but done in a way that your character noticeably gets better despite it
>bosses are tanky as fuck and there's nothing you can do about it
I think that's about it
are tanky as fuck and there's nothing you can do about it
Literal skill issue
i dunno, the more I play the more I feel like if I am not making some meta build, I just waaaay weaker than I should be.
These devs have no idea how to design skills
baffling post.

>But no there's endgame
nagger, grind SR75 consistently on HC and tell me there is no endgame.
Ye. Something like that. Especially cool to make a build around triple MI rares and +5 badge of mastery and never ever getting it online.
>+5 badge of mastery
Huh? No one uses badges of mastery anymore.
>and never ever getting it online
What on earth are you even on about
Obscure way to max out things. Like nightblade/oathkeeper with invincible cold converted pets.
PoE term. Make the build to start working.
Anyway the game is gay and so are you.
Literally take your fucking meds retarded PoE schizo.
endgame in grim dawn is just fucking around in grimtools and making new builds. alternately making builds that speedrun crucible/SR75-76/ravager
last epoch is better
i know you're being le ebin maymayer
but lmao
Is it out, yet?
meh.
It will be.
I actually wonder if they're going to incorporate any elements from the Community League. It has a pretty decent take on Asterkarn. Not fantastic, but decent
I never knew this thing even had expansions, I thought it was some one and done Diablo clone from years ago
no wasd no buy
>grim yawn
No
How does Torchlight 2 rate among the competition?
I think i got like 85 hours out of it and i even modded the game with that one big content mod after i was done with my character just to get some more content to do.
>thread about game X
>50% of the thread is discussion about Y and Z
Fucking ARPGs
You mean the thread is about a game that isn't available yet.
An expansion that is not available yet for a game that is currently available.*
do i get to fuck her or they just force female player character?
She'll be a faction NPC if she even appears at all
She might be the barbarian tribe daughter mentioned in one of the frost weapons, the 2Her I think?
Korba
Cool game but it needs adventure mode.
was having fun with this game until I lost three hours of progress because the game just decided to stop saving, now I have 0 interest in playing anymore
is it time again for a new run of Grim Dawn, so I can grind trough the first 3 parts waiting for the fourth?
You don't have 25+ characters ready to go already, what r u casul?
Anasteria.
>grim yawn
Sexy, too bad the game sucks compared to PoE
Love this game and Titans Quest. They are legit the best ARPGs on the market imo.
AGAIN, IN MY OPINION. THIS IS AN OPINON.
>THIS IS AN OPINON.
its not, its FACT
I beat the game and the DLCs once as Soldier+Necro (I wanted the Death Knight roided up by unholy magic angle but necromancer was a bit too caster oriented) but I reformatted by PC before I could get into the endgame, my save might've been uploaded to the cloud but in case it hasn't, what are some other fun melee builds? I prefer heads on roid rage shit where you just charge in.
Oathkeeper + anything.
Fuck no, forgotten gods was 80% trash
At least they did good with the final boss and cosmic area
'ate Aether
'ate heretics
'ate Witches
simple as
thought about not killing her the first time until her dialogue annoyed me
I fucking hate the hud and the colour palette
>use weak colours for every fucking thing
why would you do that
stop gaming on TN monitors mate
you know I'm right
Out of all things I could complain about GD (and I do) I never once thought about colours or palettes and being in dozens of threads I've never seen anyone complain about it either.
I wish I didn't care about that colour thing
>what does my main skill sound like and look like
>what color is my screen going to be full of in 40 hours
>what gear fits thematically with my character
These are all very important but people ignore it. Force Wave is god tier but it sounds awful so I don't play that character anymore.
After playing path of exile toxic rain and sunder I find it extremely important how it looks and sounds like.
How is this game compared to Titan Quest? I liked TQ, finished it and all DLC too.
Why would you compare it to TQ?
They use the same engine and share a lot of the same mechanics. It's not a bad comparison.
Faster, tons more quality of life, much worse art direction. Pretty much all of your TQ knowledge will translate over.
Made for Orc men.
>think about doing X build
>play for an hour
>drop it because it's not fun yet
>okay, maybe Y build is better
>play for an hour
>drop it because its not fun yet
I hate Act 1.
The biggest filter for my characters is level 35ish around Fort Ikon in Normal/Veteran where they have their main skill ready but lack important devotions and the next 20 levels are just pumping masteries
>Normal/Veteran
Bro, your difficulty skip?
I'm kevel 70 and still not finishd with veteran.
>The biggest filter for my characters is level 35ish around Fort Ikon
>get the difficulty unlocker orb in the sand nagger area on another character
>use it on new character
>equip new character with +XP gear
>load new character into elite difficulty
>teleports are unlocked due to difficulty unlocker
>spend 5 minutes teleporting around picking up the easy lore notes in hub areas
>read them all to get to level 35 with 0 effort
What kind of online features are there in the game? Do I miss a bunch of stuff if I pirate?
none. it has p2p co-op. it's an actual video game not an online subscription service like path of doodoo or dogshit 4
Ooh that's great news. I'll download it and get a mod to increase the speed. I played it years ago and got bored because of how slow it is.
It's designed for singleplayer offline. Multiplayer is just co-op with bros, and I'm pretty sure it's peer to peer too
my #1 complaint with grim dawn is that 90% of the armor and weapons look fucking stupid
you look like a fucking nasty hobo until you can grab a set
Glad they're giving it another expansion. I always enjoy playing Grim Dawn. It's not exactly high quality but it's not bogged by modern day MTX bullshit, just a video game.
She cute, but Necromancer poster girl is still my waifu.
Otherwise, mildly hyped. Never thought that I would touch it again after putting 1.5k hours in it.
easily my favorite arpg
the aesthetics and setting is pretty great. Not-warhammer fantasy is about the only way to top diablo1/2's grim fantasy feeling
Setting and the loose weird west trope is awesome. Positive surprise.
>Go inquisitor
>Side with the witches every time there's a conflict
>the witches have dedicated lines when you arrive if you're an inquisitor
>inquisitors have to go through an additional conversation to convince the necromancer faction's envoy if you want to ally with them
It's the little touches
This game actually has a story? Wtf, I don't remember anything like that from the last time I played
You didn't read the texts and that's on you.
Alright, alright, I'm downloading it again, this time I'll read it all
You WILL read every word of every quest.
You WILL download this PDF and read every Note: https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/grim-dawn-lore-notes-pdf-and-ebook-epub-new-update-1-1-9-0/50203
should i buy grim dawn
you should buy skyrim
and also oblivion, fallout 3 and fallout 4
The base game usually goes on sale with a pretty good discount, but they'll still goy you for the DLCs. If you don't mind that business model, go ahead.
ah yes, expansions are now goy. i guess D2 LoD is also goying it up. Retarded homosexual
They are when the base game is $10 on sale and the expansions are $25 each
Speaking of Grim Dawn endgame:
The real GD endgame is when you stop grinding and start to create builds in Grim Stash from scratch, using the most broken and hard to get greens (aka all of them).
If you don't think so, you just havent ascended yet, but it will come eventually.
what is shakira doing with her career?
what's a good build if I want to put in no effort and press as few buttons as possible? no pets because they're annoying to micro
2h savagery archon (shaman/oathkeeper) using avenger set
the only real problem with GD, besides the game not having a double speed option, is a certain fucking motherfucker who thinks a singleplayer game needs constant nerfing of fun builds and he especially hates making things such as dual pistols and ice and lightning builds weaker compared to much more boring shit
fucking motherfucker needs to stop with that shit JUST FUCKING STOP IT'S A SINGLEPLAYER GAME WHO GIVES A SHIT IF SOMETHING IS A BIT MORE OP, IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE BORING AND STERILE AND NERFED TO SHIT ALL THE TIME THERE IS NOTHING COMPETITIVE ABOUT THE GAME NO GAY ASS SEASONS OR ANYTHING STOOOOOOPPP YOU MOTHERFUCKING CUNT
>it's another episode where pet builds get nerfed because one autist goes deep into shattered realms with them
when does this expansion come out?
want to get into the groove of GD again but don't want to burn myself out either
Sometime in 2024. Nothing concrete yet.
>grim dawn is getting ANOTHER expansion
Dammit I waited years for all the content to be released so I can play it without missing anything. These devs just don't want to let me forget this game exists.
Anyway here's my 1 max level character
How’s the paladin dual mastery?
>do 4 man party ultimate multiplayer
>get showered with legendaries
that was funny, but i kinda dislike how the game makes me constantly micro manage my inventory like that
you didn't beat the game
>played this game for nearly a decade
>only ever played multiplayer once or twice for a very short time
I wish I had friends who played this or spent any time at all in the game.
would pvp even work in this game?
Probably not. It'll either be glass cannon Nightblades gibbing each other or gigatanks that can't outdamage each other's regen.
nope
i make hardcore character and get one-shot by a bee
how's forcewave doing these days?
should still be ok. i know there's a internal trauma CD forcewave build right now that can kill crate of entertainment with 2 forcewave hits in like 20s.
>What's the point of expansions anymore?
More money obvs
this game and the expansions aren't made for casual n!gger retards like you. Drink bleach fucking whore lmao
Forgotten Gods was so hard it forced Crate to rebalance the entire game so it wouldn't stomp you in the face. Korvaak is classified as a superboss. New expansion is probably going to be hard as fuck.
>What's the point of expansions anymore?
money, item bloat etc, honestly i rather they just worked on a sequel game tbh
Does this game still need mods to be playable
But it never did. Infinite stash and autoloot is cool, but by no means necessary.
game works fine unmodded. what kind of mods are you thinking of? Grim internals or those shitty unbalanced bloat mods that add a gorillion classes?
not him but the game is unplayable without color highlights of stats on items. Game has too much trash loot to sift through
they are toning down the trash loot in the next update in favor of less, but better quality loot. and rainbow loot filter isn't really a full fledged mod, it's literally just some txt file edits
Realistically the only really essential one is Grim Internals mostly for the game speed slider. You want to set the game speed to at least 1.33x, otherwise there is a legitimate risk of falling asleep while playing Grim Dawn.
Grim YAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN
is there a better way of power leveling solo than chugging an xp potion and an ultimate unlock and just doing the act 1 quests? leaves me around level 45 which still feels uncomfortably low to start doing ultimate but i'm sick of playing through the whole game three times on every single character before i get to see how well a build works.
act 1 quests on every difficulty*
this will probably sound like a retarded complaint to most but i don't like it when games release dlcs for old games after years and years of hiatus
everytime that happened the new assets always stand out, they're always much more detailed compared to the old ones
If you guys ever get bored of the main game, try the Diablo 2 conversion mod. Idk how balanced it is though considering I only got through with a good pet build
this game unironically has too many stats, I get that you eventually learn how to sift through it like the people in the Matrix learning how to read all the code but when you're a new player it's overwhelming to get a drop with 10 effects on it and you're not even sure which of them are good
more like Grim Yawn
didnt kripp coin that term? hes got some nerve calling anything else boring
I can't play other ARPGs because they have all since turned into always online bullshit. Meaning I can't use infinite stash mods.
>horde EVERYTHING
>search options to find anything I have ever looted easily for a new character
It's too handy.
What's new? I only played the first expansion
>https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/grim-dawn-version-v1-2-0-0-coming-november-16th/132117
>Health and Energy Potions have been removed from the game. The character now has potion skills baseline and does not need to keep them in their inventory. Dedicated potion buttons have been added to the Quickbar.
>You can now disable visuals for toggled buffs in the game options to improve visual clarity on your character and to show off all that gear.
not bad
>Health and Energy Potions have been removed from the game.
Potions had cooldwons anyway, I guess this is the logical step.
not to mention they are gonna add potion customization in the next expansion
If it works as decribied in the notes I like it.
I died countless of times due to movement skills not triggering due to skill que clog.
>Dodge button
Don't know how to feel about this one.
and Energy Potions have been removed from the game
I liked potions, wtf.
Enjoy your GD2, i'm out.
>didn't even try it
>starts crying and shitting his pants already
lmao, good riddance, no one will miss you fucking retarded n!gger
>overhaul
https://grimdawn.fandom.com/wiki/Rune_Augments
>You can now disable visuals for toggled buffs in the game options to improve visual clarity on your character and to show off all that gear.
Finally, fashion dawn
>Health and Energy Potions have been removed from the game. The character now has potion skills baseline and does not need to keep them in their inventory. Dedicated potion buttons have been added to the Quickbar.
makes sense tbh, those dropped like crazy and there wasn't any way to use them all with the cooldown anyway
>Rock textures have been modernized across the game, particularly in the base game regions.
rock and stone!!
The more I read the more It feels I should just play after they get bored of patching this game
>berserker class
we're so back
>it's a shapeshifter
it's over
they're gonna add mounts, screencap this
Yeah. And bows, spears and pikes. And 1h+pistol mastery.
they're gonna add raids, screencap this
would be poggers, ngl
reddit "humor".
they're gonna screencap this, add mounts add raids
Guess I'm going to have a little warm up before new expansion when this patch hits.
My GD skills are rusty.
Not a bad move Crate
Thx, this game seems cool.
>Grim Dawn takes place in Cairn, a setting in which humanity has been brought to near extinction by a trans-dimensional war.
Its always trannies.
>sexy barbarian woman
Ok, I'm sold. What kind of game is it?
Diablo/Titan quest clone
Ok, seeing the art, I hope we get spear in the extension.
>make a button dedicated to MOVE and prioritize MOVE ahead of whatever other skill you might be using
LAVA, GET YE GONE
Why not make it so Mornay's stupidity caused the failure that allowed Devil's Crossing to be attacked and breached in the beginning of Malmouth's arc?
there was a story?
yeah
that's the problem with these games, most of the lore is contained in notes scrapped throught the game and quests but player dont really bother to read them past that, i liked how in diablo 3 everytime you killed a new type of mob or found new lore there was always a voiced clip for it, honestly one of the most memorable things diablo 3 did ingame imo.
i don't think other games of the same genre ever tried to replicate the same thing
Well yeah, they are not real RPGs
>The rest
Eh, I don't see it nor do I care
All the good sidequests don't even bother with that
This is a loot game anon, not a crpg. You IQ-lets never seem to understand that
Get woke, go broke
titan quest > grim YAWN
TQ is clunky as fuck, feels really awkward to play after any modern ARPG
TQ has possibly the coolest pet builds in the genre, right after D2 necro. But the other playstyles are certainly very clunky, especially after the recharge nerf in AE.
Grim Dawn >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Titan Quest
Objectively. Only muh ancient greece fags will rate TQ over GD. Retarded cunt lmao
I love TQ's setting and aesthetics, but the gameplay is just so outdated compared to GD.
idc about your shitty grey trash sceneries and boring story
i will never not play titan quest
That was mean you fucking retard.
I need a game like this, but with hot chicks. Lost Ark is ass btw.
So how good are summon builds
AFK through the game tier
>only pet stats matter, can ignore 99% of drops
>pets pull aggro as long as you don't attack first
>if something does aggro you, just walk around until they shift back to the pets
reducing drop rates but generally improving quality is good
grim dawn has a built-in filler because of all the garbage (you filter out) that drops
don't get me wrong, it's not as bad as PoE where 99.9% of the drops are all filtered because it's all total garbage
honestly arpgs need to do away with garbage drops, but that's where the dopamine hits come from
>Making the perfect ARPG ever better.
How is this even possible?!
it would be if it was released in a year appropriate to the engine, so somewhere around 2011. this game is so astonishingly dated it's genuinely confusing when you look at the release date.
