It would be the perfect controller if not for the retarded select/start buttons placement and design, the useless touchpad and its wired solution.

The touchpad is useful as frick on PC and the position of start and select is far better than having them out of reach in the middle of the controller.
The only problems with modern PS controllers stick drift as with any first party controller apparently and the shit battery life.

I had DualShock 4 day one, multiple, big improvement over the Dualshock 3(God Sonys 2000s controller DS2 and DS3 are the cheapest official controllers of all time even if I love the PS2 and PS3)but the Dualsense is better in every way.
First Sony Controller imo to rival the og Dualshock.
DS4 is decent enough but it just feels cheap in comparison to holding and using a Dualsense.

are the horizon games the only ones using that gimmick? the pad makes noises when you scan stuff

I think most PS first party ports have a gimmick like that if you plug in one of their controllers.
Can't use it wirelessly though because Sony can't be fricked putting out a controller driver for PC, I guess.

Works on my machine. It's because it uses multiple data streams for the controller, speaker, and headphone jack which normal bluetooth dongles on PC can't handle. It's the same with the Xbox One controller, you have to use the official dongle for the headphone jack to work wirelessly.

The age of the monoblock controller is at an end, they're ergonomically worse and offer fewer options than a set of split controllers.
Now that wireless communication and battery performance are further developed, the restrictions of the SNES bottom surgery controller can be shed.
This is especially important for a console that has had VR peripherals twice in a row now, there's no reason to not make the standard controller compatible if all you need is a place to attach a tracking ring or similar solution.

what you want, OP, is a dualshock 2

Peak controller design. Very little intrusive stupid gimmicks like touch screen or waggle motion shittery. Just rumble which is whatever.

I know mgs did. Light press aims your gun and a full press shoots. Twin Snakes on gamecube got around this by just adding a safety button lol

Motion control adds a lot of weight, more than rumble. Also touch screen not intrusive? Hahahaha, good joke. I almost thought you were serious for a second.

the touchpad is actually pretty useful for stuff like ffxiv, most games simply don't utilize it. the DS4 dpad is awful though
