There's a battery in one of the shrines (mogawak I think) that will charge with electricity. You can steal it out of the shrine by fusing it then paying the goron kid in Tarrey town to unfuse it. You can then use that and a shock emitter to create an infinite battery
True, or just take the machine with you everywhere. Actually I haven't tried it yet but autobuild might be able to clone it, not sure

Don't you need every material available in the vicinity to autobuild something? Haven't really messed around with it yet, but the small tutorial made it seem like the materials need to be physically present.

Nope, if you have all the materials it's free. It takes a moment to recognize when they're there and assemble them before it shows the 0 cost though.

How do you do this? When I don't have the parts things just look like templates with no functionality. It works for things like wings, but not for fans for example.

>How do you do this?
First, stop being retarded, holy shit anon, this is embarrassing. Not even memeing.
Second, press A to spawn the autobuild moron, like the game says, right there on screen. Any part missing will be paid for in zonite.
Not only does the game tell you this in the tutorial, the construct re-affirms it to you when you get the power, and then the UI makes it obvious.
Christ no matter how good of a UX dev you are there will always be Gankertards to fuck up

The fact ive seen about seven dozen different responses about this game starting with this exact sentence proves Ganker on average is absolutely retarded and is incapable of following simple instructions right in front of them
Then again, pre-launch emufags and post launch fags were complaining about the 3rd tutorial shrine, being unable to solve puzzles on the skyland, despite the fucking robots telling you everything youd need to know and the game being so signposted that itd be impossible to get stuck.
But fuck me does Ganker even read?

Autobuild can clone anything that can be fused, which is everything that isn't nailed down, or connected to something by chain or rails.

>Actually I haven't tried it yet but autobuild might be able to clone it, not sure
if you just want the battery fuse 2 of them together and favorite the double battery to strap it to whatever
That's why auto build exists. To replaces parts you don't have available around you with Zionite you have in pocket. So once you have made your infinite battery or whatever the fuck ever structural monstrosity. You can save it as a favorite in your auto build and throw it out whenever.
unless theres some other trick to this all that shrine battery does is power the shock emitter and electrify metal objects, its not doing anything to movement parts like fans or wheels
Can you just glue the shock emitter on it in there and favourite it so you always can autobuild the battery + shock emitter outside for like 10 zonaite?
Nah this is what a 10/10 game and sequel looks like.

What did TotK add btw? More grinding? Its just a shitty fucking DLC of BotW with some Gmod reject crap awkwardly slapped
And it's not even bad, either. Like...is calling the game "garry's mod" supposed to be a bad thing? Gmod is amazing. So tacking gmod gameplay onto an already good game is just more good gameplay to enjoy.
Yeah, whenever people bitched about the shrines in BotW I always thought, "wait, aren't these basically Portal levels? I thought everyone loved Portal?" Of course it's not like Zelda is ripping off Valve; they're just small physics puzzles that can be solved in various ways, and aren't even the main focus of the game. I've never understood having all that content in an already massive game that's just fun to move around in is somehow a bad thing. I mean, people used to complain that Zelda puzzles were too simplistic, and you always just use whatever item you acquired earlier in the dungeon to progress/beat the boss. And now you're given a bunch of tools and can progress in a bunch of different ways, and all of a sudden this is a huge flaw.
Portal's puzzles stopped being tutorials and tech showcase shit after a few chambers
Meanwhile, here I am on TOTK, 50 hours into the game, in one of the lategame sky labyrinth shrines, and the entire puzzle of that shrine is to drive a vehicle just like the ones that you've been driving for the past 50 hours in a braindead circuit

Yes, adding harry’s mid and brown bricks in minecrap is shit you do to a spinoff. If this was dragon quest builders people would let you fuck off with your 5/10. Everything about BotW and its dlc has been brain rot for ritalin burnouts. You keep acting like this is some brand new invention when it is the least effort reskin of other better products. Half of you like it because it is just another one of those games and the other half only protect it because “its a Zelda”. You aren’t inventive or imaginative, you are doing shit every brat with a game genie did when he got board. The only difference is when we did it, it was to break a functional game.
Garry's Mod doesn't allow you to do even half the things TotKs engine and physics enable. If you tried to build nearly any of the functional gadgets from Tears in Gmod, they would just spaz out and launch into a wall at 1000 MPH.
Literally the opposite. TotK doesn't give you nearly the level of control gmod has. All you can do to join objects in TotK are welds, the 45 degree rotations and autosnapping are horrible and when trying to remove an object you have to shake everything and then reposition. You can't even use wings or balloons because they just get deleted after 60 seconds. You can't control any aspect of zonai devices. They are always either on or off. You can't control the properties of the objects and there is a strict limit of about 20 or 30 before the game just doesn't even let you weld anything anymore. There is no fucking comparison.
I no-lifed gmod for years. I easily have 5k+ hours but only logged 1k because most of the time I spent playing it was around 2007-2010, much of which was before valve even tracked playtime. And I also spent a decent amount of time playing before it was even sold on steam, when it was just a free mod. You can rant all you want about muh open world but TotK doesn't hold a candle to gmod in the building department.

The fact that there are some people who think this (but unironically) shows how based OP's initial comment is
Small zoanite is currence for various things, most importantly for bootleg autobuild parts. Large zoanite is for buying battery upgrades, you can do it with small as well, but don't.

Hold on, mining machine? Can you tell me what that is? I've been avoiding Zelda threads.
>Have next to no say in the overall geometry off creations, just what you can slap together from predetermined junk
It's not a creative's game, I'll say that
If this game was totally unchanged in every single way except it was called Mechanus and the main character was a guy named Torg in some typical fantasy armor fighting a wizard named Zerb you all would think it was an okay but forgettable Minecraft clone with Nuts and Bolts thrown sprinkled on top and rate it 6/10.
As someone who has a lot of playtime in Scrap Mechanic, I might think it's like Scrap Mechanic but with significantly better combat and infinitely more stuff to do in the world perchance.
>Game is absolutely nothing like Zelda >Biggest criticisms of that innovative new game are that its not like old Zelda >"If it didn't have Zelda in the name, people would hate it!"
The game sells more with Zelda in the title but it would be even more beloved if it were a new IP. You monkeys understand nothing.
Your mistake is believing the average nintendo consoomer thinks like that instead of going WOWEE IT'S THE FRANCHISE OF MY CHILDHOOD OMG 11/10 GOTY GOTY GOTY
Of course it applies to BotW, they are the same damn game just one has BKN&B slapped on to make sure it has no identity of its own whatsoever. But OP says it is a genius Rorschach test to see if brain work good or not.
pretty much. I think a lot of Ganker thinks this game is mediocre but is shitposting it as a 10/10 because of console war gayry
tendies seething at this post
Naah, if it was like you describe, it would be lauded as the next new original game to break the mold and you wouldn't see all those people like you complaining about it being a Zelda game.
not really. The construction elements have the depth of an indie game but with fuck tons of nintendo polish to cover this up, which makes sense since they spent years on it + infinite nintendo money
It would be 10/10 if it weren't Breath of the Wild 2. Zoomers are too young to remember that each new mainline Zelda game used to be totally different from the previous one in terms of game engine, art style, map, enemy AI, music, and game mechanics and not just old game + a few new mechanics, with Majora's Mask being the one exception since it took just 1.5 years to make.
>that each new mainline Zelda game used to be totally different from the previous one in terms of game engine, art style, map, enemy AI, music, and game mechanics and not just old game + a few new mechanics
ok zoomie
All of those games pictures are completely different from one another. Give or take art style but they have different maps and mechanics at the very least, not just the same map with sky islands and an underworld
>sky islands and an underground that rivals size of the world map are not "different" from botw >building, rewind, ascend, fuse are not "different" mechanics from stasis, magnetism, ice, and bomb
When will this meme end?
Same world buddy if your whole game is about exploration then having the same world defeats the purpose. I never finished my replay of botw because I knew where things were
>if your whole game is about exploration then having the same world defeats the purpose.
No it doesn't. Additionally, exploration is one aspect of this game, not the be all and end all.

actually botw is 90% exploration, it rewards you for exploring with shrines. You don't get rewarded for combat
1 week ago
Anonymous
you get rewarded with materials, which in TOTK is a significant reward when it comes to making cheap-dick weapons that are more powerful than sticking a rusty nail to a rusty nail. a fire keese wing alone stuck to a spear is more effective than half the big dick clawymores you can fuse.
I understand the point you're making but I don't think you're doing a good job of it. The Oracle games exist. You could also argue that ALBW is rehash of LTTP, which it kind of is in a way. PH and ST are different enough but pretty much feel like the same game and look very similar. You also have three different versions of multiplayer Zelda that all feel the same, and I think you can make a pretty good argument that SS and TP are just trying to be the "new" OOT with a fresh coat of paint and some new gimmick. We also have interviews saying that the original plan was just to make WW2 instead of TP, we know from the Gigaleak they were planning a Zelda 2 remake for SNES, and who knows what the hell Ura Zelda actually was but that was going to be a expansion pack / sequel of sorts to OOT. Then there's all the weird spin-off games like Crossbow Training, the Sattelaview games and Tetra's Trackers that just reuse assets or remake the game. I guess my point is that Zelda was not this series where every title was revolutionary and changing everything up, they kind of just kept following with what they were doing before and switching up the mechanics of the graphics but Zelda was still at its core the same game. Which is why BOTW was such a game changer and why also sold far more than the previous 3D games that came out the two console generations before it. It goes back to that original open design that the original NES title kind of had, and as one Boomer friend of mine put it years ago playing BOTW for the first time felt like you were playing the version of the original Zelda you pictured in your head that you were playing when you were a kid. And that was the fucking magic of that game. Every other Zelda game for years before that felt like a chore to me, but the two switch games actually feel fresh. And I include TOTK in that
>>IF YOU CAN'T MAKE YOUR OWN FUN IN OUR SANDBOX THEN IT'S YOUR FAULT
The whole point of TotK is that no one is asking you to make your own fun though, there is an actual story to progress through, they just let you make your own shit to go about getting everywhere.
I fail to see how these are not all positive points. Enjoy your soulful shitbox you made yourself instead of some boring thing someone else made for mass appeal. All the better if you can fix and mod it yourself easily whenever you want.
Honestly, every time I see this image, I think 100% correct and that car is actually hilariously cool, it actually looks badass, like a dwarf armorcar.
Unironically the Howard is responsible for all cancer in gaming >Horse armor : the beginning of microtransactions >skyrim: the beginning of open world crafting popularity >fallout 4: the start of "make the fun yourself!" Building in the world
What's next for this madlad?
Starfield will bring back Daggerfall style procedural worlds made of a dozen templates rearranged endlessly, and it will be the next gaming revolution everybody copies.
/v/'s reaction to this game makes more sense when you realize this board is filled to the brim with Soulsfags. They only understand decay and destruction. And quite literally have the exact opposite spirit of the Zelda franchise. It's a bit of poetic irony the From's games often deal with reventing stagnation and paving the way for new things when the games themselves are utterly stagnated and Soulsfags will not rest until every game imagineable is a Souls clone. Meanwhile Zelda has always had the courage to try new things with the staunch attitude of "if you didn't like it, there's always the next game".
For real. Like I bought the Souls games on steam when they were on sale and I just don't get the hype. I mean they are fine games but sheeeesh they ain't all that. Also I got ER when it came out and refunded it cause it played like shit on Launch in the Steam Deck and I was looking for an open world game for the Deck.
>Dark souls is a better Zelda game >Zelda relies on item descriptions to tell its story
look i know you think autistic puzzle solving and lock on combat is what zelda is about but nah dude, Dark Souls doesnt even have the layered dungeon system, you just wander into an area, unlock a door and kick a bosses ass.
to say Dark Souls is a better Zelda game is almost as autistic as saying Zelda is "better" than Dark Souls. theyre different games
Would be better if the AI wasn't completely retarded. Reality is you don't need to build crazy shit to defeat enemies because they're all braindead in the first place and can be easily beaten by a stick.
Wish there was a hard mode where they made the AI far more intelligent.
I wish we got Lynel-level Darknuts, Iron Knuckles, Geozard, or Big Blin. Not to mention normal enemies like Deku Baba or Boko Baba and especially Peahats for the Sky.
Bringing back the armored dudes with ball and chain weaponry would have been fun as they could have you fuse the ball midswing to steal it from them and force them to pull out their sword for close range combat.
>can be easily beaten by a stick
When there's only one of them, sure. You can pretty easily stunlock enemies like that. But most of the time enemies spawn in groups, don't pretend death isn't a realistic possibility in this game.
I've already played "Bad Piggies" though
I do like this feature, but this is baby's first builder and no where near as good as other offerings. It's the Nintendo fanboys that get me thinking that this is somehow innovative.
It's really not. >The overworld has been changed enough that it doesn't feel like as much of a retread as it could be >The Sky Islands are great as small additional pieces of content
But the Depths are the biggest waste of fucking time. The Depths are HUGE, but unlike the regular overworld, the only things of note you'll find are excuse to grind materals. There's great ideas in the Depths such as the Gloom debuff, but they're instantly circumvented by cooking meals with Sundelions making it trivially easy to avoid even without the armor. Traversal on foot is a non-starter, so your best solution is vehicles. BUT, land vehicles will constantly be tripped up and unable to go longer distances due to the valleys and cliffs, so the obvious solution is air vehicles. However, this leads to an issue, which is that a Control Stick with two Fans saved in Autobuilder is the best vehicle in the game hands-down and completely trivializes all travel. Why build literally any other vehicle when the airbike can go up and down, travel far distances quickly, costs 9 Zonaite, and uses very little power? Why travel on a horse when airbike? Why build a contraption to send a Korok when Airbike? Why use the Sky Island's resources and solve puzzles to get to new areas when Airbike?
This is the problem with BotW and TotK's systems, they're all easily exploited and broken leaving the entire system inherently worthless >Cooking is trivialized by Hearty veggies ALWAYS giving the player full health + bonus hearts >Making interesting weapon combinations is pointless when you can simply fuse your highest value monster part to get the most damage >Climbing was broken by Revali's Gale in BotW and Airbike in TotK >Even without the Airbike the Paraglider makes the game an exercise in flying over all the gameplay to get to the next Shrine or location
Again, it's a fun game, a great game even, but a 95+ on Metacritic? Get real.
They should've added Wall Masters in the depths to fuck you up for flying around in the dark ona simple bike and reward building a mobile weapons platform
That's the shittiest part about the building in this game. I've seen people build fucking mech suits in TotK, and they shoot out their fucking laser piss and only deal like 20 damage a hit to Bokoblins. The reward for building good shit is all intrinsic and severely lacking in extrinsic.
The mech suit is a quest thing, I believe. You can easily create a vehicle capable of taking down strong world bosses though, you just need to play the game more.
>only things of note in the Depths are materials
It has significantly more armor and better weapons than the overworld >Gloom restoration mechanic is bad
You have to make your own challenge in these games, it's like how you don't pause and restore health mid combat to prevent every death just because you can. It's a kids game. >Control Stick with two Fans saved in Autobuilder is the best vehicle in the game hands-down
Not true, a stabilizer is better and you won't have the battery power to make the vehicle you describe even go anywhere unless you have significantly explored the Depths >Why build literally any other vehicle >Why travel on horse when airbike >Why build a contraption to send a Korok >why use the Sky Island's resources and solve puzzles to get to new areas
Because the airbike doesn't move that quickly or cost very little power, at base battery you're going basically nowhere and even with multiple batteries it is not zipping you all around like you seem to believe >Cooking is trivial because of max health increasers
Cooking plain health restoration dishes isn't really helpful, it's all about the stat boosters and different ingredients promote buff growth, so it's always useful to experiment with diverse ingredients for your non-full heal food. >making interesting weapon combinations is pointless when you can make a big number
But if you actually experiment then you discover that the effects created by different parts have a wide range of utility outside of killing quicker, which is why you fuse different parts to weapons and shields. >climbing broken by revalis gale and airbike
Revali's Gale is replaced by a half dozen mechanics in this game, and all of them are better. You aren't supposed to climb every cliff. It's part of the gameplay being an emergent sandbox. You never choose the most boring option and that isn't a problem with the game.
>Revali's Gale is replaced by a half dozen mechanics in this game, and all of them are better
Literal shill moment. None of those options are as smooth as simply holding crouch
Shield rockets are also objectively worse because you don't get the updraft to redirect your movement
Honestly, TOTK is shit and now that I've finished it, I'm going back to the Second Wind mod in BOTW. Not resuming TOTK until they finish adding DLC because the base game at the moment is just plain bad
>Literal shill moment. None of those options are as smooth as simply holding crouch
Bombshield and Springshield, balloons, and rockets are all better than holding crouch to trivialize the game*
*three times then wait 30 minutes before you can do it again
Revali's Gale was awful for a game that wasn't designed around its existence.
Are you absolutely taking a fucking giggle? Are you unironically suggesting that Revali trivializes the game WHILE the fucking zonai cancer don't?
There's a literal shrine that instantly respawns you rockets, so you can just warp there to restock. You're fucking allowed to use all of that bullshit INSIDE FUCKING SHRINES
You can straight up skip entire shrines just by using one of your infinite rocket shields. I don't remember being able to use Revali inside shrines? Not to mention that you have to unlock that shit first while rocket shields are most likely available right on the tutorial island >30 minutes cooldown
Did you even play the fucking game? The ability had a really low cooldown even before upgrading it with the DLC trial
>None are as smooth as simply holding crouch
That's the only aspect of the ability that isn't intact, and everything else is equally as easy. You can connect three springs for a superior effect that costs 9 Zonaite or, yes, rocket shield, or spring shield, or create any number or Zonai vehicles that lift or are propelled into the air. If you want something easy, simply favorite a double or triple spring. Oh, and of course there's the fact that it had a limit while everything else doesn't.
Yeah? Obviously TotK is going to share some armor sets with BotW, why is it bad that it has all of its DLC armors strewn across a new biome? The point is that the Depths is not just to grind materials, it has stronger loot than most of the overworld.
>it has stronger loot than most of the overworld.
I disagree. The amiibo armors are complete downgrades from the stuff you find in the overworld.
Also, why explore the depths when you can just scan an Amiibo and get the exact same armor? It's not a cheat, you're just using one of the runes that is permanently stuck in your rune wheel. It's a feature that the devs want you to use
>amiibo armor are complete downgrades
Wrong. >why find something in a game when you can buy a toy to get it?

You're wrong. The defense values are worse or the same as other pieces of armor that offer the exact same effects, while also being a lot harder to upgrade
>why find something in a game when you can buy a toy to get it?
Why are you ignoring a major game feature? The game gives you two ways to obtain the amiibo armors and one of them is simply better. Also, those """microtransactions""" are free because I can just borrow the toys from my friend Emuiibo

I'm not ignoring anything, I'm saying that you can get it without buying the toy, so that's what the majority of people will do.
There is new armor in the game, so yeah, it's not an issue that you can get all of the armor from the first game in the new biome.

Okay but where do I draw the line? >Don't use Hearty Vegetables in recipes, throw them out as soon as you get them >Force myself to use weird and wacky weapon combinations and shove meat onto arrows >Force myself to not use the Paraglider or the Airbike, or force myself to only use parts that I find out in the wild
Like at a certain point I'm making so many concessions that I should probably go and play something else. And again, a lot of these problems were in the original BotW and just carried through unchanged into TotK. I can respect a developer allowing for player freedom but putting limitations on this shit would be instrumental in making the game a lot more fun. People actually do enjoy inconveniences. >Decrease Sprinting stamina usage by 2-3x, enabling Link to run far longer without getting tired. Helps players in the early game before Stamina upgrades. >Increase stamina drain of Paraglider by 2-3x, discouraging Link from soaring over incredibly long distances >Climbing stays the same >Autobuild remains, but prices for parts are increased 4-5x, severely encouraging players to find their own parts out in the wild. The Airbike should not cost only 9 fucking Zonaite. >Hearty items only give full heal when combined with several other ingredients into a full meal. Recipes should be way more important to the overall HP gain
>don't use hearty veggies
I said, use the rest of your food in buffing recipes. >force myself to use weird and wacky weapon combos
Partially for experimentation, sure. But fusing a bomb barrel to a shitty throwing spear and using it to blow up a high level camp is more what I'm talking about. Or putting a mushroom on a big stick to bounce away enemies. Or fusing a shield to your two hand so you can block. There are a ton of applications outside of "make weapon damage a bigger number". >Force myself to not use the paraglider or airbike
I'm not convinced that you've used the airbike very much at all, considering you think it's gamebreaking. But yeah, part of it is about experimenting throughout your playthrough and not calling it good once you've discovered the one viral Zonai construct everyone is using. >decrease sprinting stamina usage
Defeats the purpose of land vehicles. >increase stam drain of paraglider
I agree with you there, it should be comparable to sprinting, especially with the cannon towers and stamina food. >inflate autobuild prices
No way, autobuild is not exactly cheap unless you are using the simplest possible recipes, which most players aren't. Again with this airbike obsession, it's not that good unless you have already farmed the shit out of the Depths. >Hearty items only give a full heal when combined
Sure. But again, you're missing the point, hearty items aren't the issue, the issue is that you only see food as a health restorative.
>use a bomb barrel on a throwing spear
Just use a bomb flower arrow retard, it's the same effect without wasting one of your valuable melee weapon slots and much easier to do to boot
>throwing spear >valuable melee weapon spot
It's to get rid of a weapon and have fun. It's just a possible combination example, there are lots of resources that have exclusive weapon effects.
The depths has the best weapons and the armor to wield them but its not like it matters, you constantly have materials to make a 30+damage weapon trough the entire game.
>It has significantly more armor
Name some in the depths that are worth using. >better weapons
Wrong. The best weapons (Gerudo, Zora, Gloom, etc) all found on the surface >YoU have to make your own challenge
The devs have to make a challenge too, and this game lets you heal 10000000000000000 times while paused, while armor makes you take no damage. >Cooking plain health restoration dishes isn't really helpful, it's all about the stat boosters
You can eat both dumbass, there's no limit. >But if you actually experiment then you discover that the effects created by different parts have a wide range of utility
Lmao it's a few elemental effects (half of which are questionably useful) and shield rockets/glider. >It's part of the gameplay being an emergent sandbox
Also known as "trash".
>Name some in the depths that are worth using
Lots of classic/nostalgia sets are here. >better weapons >Gerudo, Zora, Gloom
"Better" is contingent on them having lower durability or negligible effects in certain scenarios besides Gloom, which requires resistant armor to be useful. >The devs have to make a challenge too, you can pause to heal and upgrade your armor to take no damage
This is exactly my point about making your own challenge. It's very easy to outscale the game with upgrades by nature of it being open world, enter lower level areas, and then call it bad design. >You can eat both
I'm literally saying, eat both. That the ingredients aren't useless outside of +Max Health ones. >It's a few elemental effects and rockets and a glider
You named maybe 30 items out of hundreds. Of course there's lots of variations of elemental stuff. You need to experiment more, evidently. >emergent sandbox gameplay is trash
There's your real problem, you just want to hate the game.
>Lots of classic/nostalgia sets
What does that have to do with gameplay. >"Better" is contingent on them having
Higher damage. >lower durability
Irrelevant, weapons respawn forever. >negligible effects >double damage
LMAO brainless monkey can't into the game he is shilling. >requires resistant armor to be useful >higher base damage than most weapons requires armor(???)
Schizo tier rambling >You named maybe 30 items
? >there's lots of variations of elemental stuff
There's 4 elements, what animation you use to apply the effect is near negligible. >There's your real problem
How does playing not-Gmod in a threatless sandbox with no almost good content or difficulty make for a good video game?
I have four batteries for now and the airbike is nowhere near as good as you are trying to say. In most terrains a horse and one or two shields with rockets will get me traveling 3 or 4 x faster than with the airbike. Maybe with 16 batteries the airbike will become overpowered, but at that point anything will probably be overpowered. I have only upgraded some armors twice and now most attacks I get only remove 1/4 heart which makes me basically invincible against anything but high-tier enemies.
In fact, if there is something really fucked up in the game, it is the armor and health system.
The bike becomes better the more you upgrade your batteries plus if you get a Level 2 Zonaite Armor Set well you be able to go from one side of the map to the next on a single charge.
Even early on the Hoverbike is useful to help you build up your Energy Cells and get the Zonaite equipment. It's just an exponential improvement because as you get more cells the distance you can travel increases.
the problem with armor is that it's a simple, flat reduction. a 24 armor effectively reduces all damage by 6 hearts, down to a minimum of one quarter.
since most enemies in the game have shit weapon you quickly go past their damage. The fourth tier of armor is so overkill it's not even funny
and what's the problem with the game allowing you to do that? many single player games can be cheesed
if you don't like using the airbike for everything, don't use it
or do you just want a "hard" game so you can boast that you managed to beat it?
Yes, the game allows you to discover various options to accomplish tasks which is the point of the mechanics and the core of the gameplay
You are given the option to airbike everywhere but you dont have to. Its not about efficiency its about exploring both hyrule and your options
Not the biggest, that'd be some super niche autist physics simulator you couldn't hand to a random person and expect them to figure out. Especially if the UI and such are overcomplicated. But the game is simply the most accessible mass litmus test for illustrating pic related in modern times.
That's absurd anon, there's so many limitations to the creation and buildings compared to existing games. I don't want to spend 10 minutes building a simple puzzle beater.
>PCfags finally get a leak work playing >All they do is bitch about it
Further proof that the PC crowd are purely in it for tweaking and modding and don't actually play video games. They don't want games, they want something to bitch about.
I just decided on a whim to jump down the Hyrule Castle chasm while being completely unprepared and not having done any main temple yet. By the time I got to the big jump before the Demon King's Army, I was down to three hearts due to gloom, but thanks to my Bokoblin and Lizalfos masks I could get down there without having to fight too much. I managed to beat two waves of the fight thanks to magical staff fused with topaz, but the third wave completely fucked me. I decided to return later when I was actually meant to, but the unprepared detour into hell was pretty fun.
well it is indeed an improvement compared to BOTW
But still... it's fun when you are unprepared. If you go there in more appropriate time it's breeze and boring ass garbage because you've seen all of this already and have resources to delete most of enemies
Why are there so many posts in these threads from people that haven't played the game but acting as if they have. The discrepancies are obvious but you double down as if it's going to make a difference to those that own and are enjoying it.
>map has been changed quite a bit, with many caves and a changed topology >sky islands and depths on top of that >tons of side quests, even excluding the multiple >"bring me 10 bear asses" ones >complete new set or runes and tools that change how you explore the map >much more interactivity with the world, with many new systems
reusing the map is a bit meh, but don't pretend there isn't a lot new stuff to find and discover, even seeing how old things changed can be interesting.
but you'll probably cope how none of what i said matters despite being objectively what has been added
i mean all the towns and general points of interest are the same
hateno in totk is still where hateno was in botw with the same layout and everything, even if a few things have been added/changed like all the cece stuff everywhere and the locations of shrines
the ending is shit. Asspulls upon asspulls for setpieces' sake: 1. you lose your body and mind when you transform, but light dragon suddenly helps you fight out of nowhere
2. the ganon dragon should also lose its mind and float around like the others spreading gloom or whatever
3. ganon is the only dragon with his stone visible and glowing weakspots. What happened to immortal dragons?
4. zelda turned back by magic, ain't gotta explain shit. Sacrifice undone, no stakes.
3. ganon is the only dragon with his stone visible and glowing weakspots. What happened to immortal dragons?
4. zelda turned back by magic, ain't gotta explain shit. Sacrifice undone, no stakes.
3. Master sword absorbed zelda dragon magic so it makes sense it could kill another dragon
4. They explain it through the ghosts of Raura and Sonic channeling their magic through Links arm.
Both are shit but there are reasons
2023 has been a truly wonderful year. Elden Ring shitposters still seethed throughout 2023 despite it's 2022 release, RE4R caused more dedicated seething and TOTK is triggering shitposting NEETs harder than any game yet. Plenty of great games and some filler between them and we still have armored core coming later. what a great time to be someone that plays video games instead of doomposting about them
>Same exact >Recreations of different eras so buildings are added, changed, or removed to represent normal passage of time in the real city >3 different console generations
And the longest turn around time has been 2 years, but most being yearly. Complete with combat overhauls, different arcade classics, and mini games. The whole point of reusing a map is to turn out games faster. But because BotW is made by Zillenials and zoomers, they have no fucking idea what they are doing and the old hands are just there to optimize their fuck ups so it fits on a cartridge.
Yes its very similar to garys mod with building but who cares?
Gary mods is amazing, it offered so much content and fun, there should be more like it.
Does totk have flaws?
Yes, no game is flawless, some flaws make a game and give it personality. Thing you can look back on and give hope for future titles or just come to terms with a grounded view of this game, intead of putting it on a pedestal.
I really wish people would grow up and stop acting like kids who need to argue every little thing. Threads would be so much better and have far less pointless bickering.
I'm all for arguments and discussion but most seem so fucking trivial and pointless.
I keep seeing discussion outside of here with “there are no microtransactions, so it is fun” without the least bit of reflection on how far their standards have fallen because of the absolute state of the industry. And there will absolutely be more paid dlc for this like that stupid motorcycle for the first one. You don’t think Nintendo didn’t think to put zonanite on the cash shop like Capcom putting blood orbs on its dlc page? Every time there is a consumable or in game currency the idea is always there and suits like Bowser are ready to push that maximize profit button. You already let them get away with the $70 dollar shit test, that mtx train is never late.
The only delusional person here is (You). Fans said there would never be DLC. Wii U changed all that by not just having dlc, they had physical drm dlc in the form of over priced funko pops. They said they would never have paid online or subscription services, you are now charged yearly for roms you no doubt paid for at least 3 times over if not more if your original wii died and purchases were tied to the console and not you personally. “The Nintendo Never” has been proven wrong time and time again. Just because they lag the industry doesn’t mean they don’t covet it. They just let Sony and MS push the Overton window first so they can keep up a “good guy” façade.
>physical drm dlc in the form of overpriced funko pops >charge yearly for roms you paid for already >Sony and MS push the Overton window
Yeah, no. Refusing to implement reverse compatibility and creating toys has been a decision since the Switch was first released. They'll monetize their mobile titles, but they're not going to make Zelda a gacha game just because Genshit copied it.
They have other uses e.g. you can nail a structure to the ground, make two tall platforms and cross a body of water, attach wood to them and use them to climb up a mountain, probably more with a little creativity
the switch allows so many people to experience nintendo games. I feel like that is never talked about. it's a great advantage of this specific game system
>Ganker passes blood about Elden Ring for over a year >the same people who cried "ZELDA WILL BE BETTER LOOOL" are the Gankertards screaming the zelda is shit and ER was better
I like both, console wars are for retards and poorfags.
I really like it but it's too easy because of how easy it is to build stuff that lets you skip content.
Also the atmosphere isn't as strong as it was in BotW.
Words cannot express how pissed off their "Dream House" system makes me.
No windows on any of the housing piece, 15 is not enough to make a truly nice looking house with some of the decoration pieces. Even 20 would've been so much fucking better.
I just wanted to make a large house, but because the lack of variety of pieces you're fucking forced to use those open floor all sides pieces.
I'l probably try doing it another way next time, but fuck sakes this is truly the worst customize housing I've fucking seen.
i'm finally trying to play this game seriously and i'm finding that the zonai construct mechanics don't gel with the rest of the game at all (besides the shrines which are made for them). everything else in the game takes a couple seconds to do but building one vehicle takes like 5 minutes and you barely get any benefit out of it. but i haven't gotten any steering devices or the autobuild ability yet so maybe that makes it better.
>Wanted to fuck with the dreamhouse system >decide to use item dupe for rupees specifically for this future DLC content sink >it's poorly implemented in every sense of the word
tthank fucking god I didnt spend time grinding the rupees out to fuck with this monstrosity, I'd have been highly pissed
The things you build fall apart and don't have any real power behind them. That's my only gripe with the building etc.
If later in the game you could make things which retain their form and their functionality was greatly improved, I would feel more like saying "10/10".
I spent like 2 hours trying to design a nice house, but I think I'm going to take it all down and just make 14 different gallery rooms and a main entrance.
For whatever amusing photos I take
Please tell me I'm not the only one who went unga bunga retard and bruteforced the fire temple. I did the first two locks with the carts but then just figured I can climb, glide and ascend for the last three without using the carts at all. Checked out some walkthrough because I figured it was not the "intended" way and I just skipped all the puzzles. Also I apparently did them in a wrong order.
>hey look >basically i'm not gonna play genshim impact, don't matter how much you post that shit here >i know... ugh i know i'm sorry! >it's just that i ain't playing it, it's all >hahahahahahaha
I honestly can't believe they tried that shitty car building mechanic from that other horrible goyslop game again
And in a zelda game no less
Fucking hell garden gnomes really can't create they can only subvert and destroy
>I honestly can't believe they tried that shitty car building mechanic from that other horrible goyslop game again
If you think Besiege is shit then your opinion is of no value to me.
>all these scrubs complaining about battery life don't know that cooking a meal instantly recharges your battery
Stop browsing western content and get on the japanese meta. Being a pot to cook in on your vehicle and you can fly forever just by cooking one simple meal. You're already 10 steps behind.
that'd be cool if all the effort you put into building that was rewarded but the battery system limiting the lifespan of anything you build is pretty gay. if the sequel just goes full nuts and bolts and lets you build stuff and save it and keep it forever i'd be interested.
>either farm a bunch of zonaite gacha orbs and then spend 5 minutes dropping each piece until you have all of the pieces to build it >or blow your zonaite on autobuilding it more than twice
what's the point again?
>Can only activate every single part at once with no depth >Power system is just a separate stamina bar with no depth >Parts all Just Work with no depth >Can't keep anything you build for any appreciable amount of time because the game still needs to balance around the shitty premise of being a wild rock climbing survivalist in a permanent state of scavenging for supplies like it was a bethesda fallout game >Can't modify in any way, only glue
It's even shittier if you have a soul
Nuts & Bolts is way better, at least that let me build a pirate airship with guns and missiles and energy shields that I could also deploy wings and wheels with at any time when my propellers and balloons failed or were not needed
>a gun has no depth because all of the working parts only let it shoot.
not going to bother with you too long but rockets only thrust and then dissappear allowing you to jumpstart momentum and have an airborne vehicle that can then commit to its actual purpose. not sure what you think power is or should be other than a fuel source so i dont know what youre issue is there. youre pretending to have a soul when youre actually just kind of retarded
You believe engineering is just sticking shit together, pressing a button, and then things just work
And also that fuel magically replenishes and teleports right from your hands into the machine as it is used
I don't think you have any right to be calling anyone else a retard
engineering is construction with a means to solve a problem it literally doesnt fucking matter where the magic fuel comes from, this is a videogame you spaz. you definitely are a retard if you think sticking 40 sticks together in a configuration that lets you cross a chasm isnt engineering and architecture even in a most obscure, basic sense lmao. fuck off. >it isnt engineering if its unrealistic and uses magic
lol
>build nice looking scrap car out of whats available >enter a shrine >come out >car gone >have to rebuild it with the zonite I have to grind out >cheaper to just make a non aesthetic looking, cheap pile of crap with jets glued to it instead
the game basically punishes any higher level of creativity
How soon do you think there will be a mod where you can override placing 15 rooms?
How soon until there will be a mod for more buyable room compartments.
...and a paper clip to enable infinite battery
Or just make a perpetual motion machine by stealing the motor from one of the shrines
Care to explain?
There's a battery in one of the shrines (mogawak I think) that will charge with electricity. You can steal it out of the shrine by fusing it then paying the goron kid in Tarrey town to unfuse it. You can then use that and a shock emitter to create an infinite battery
That's pretty cool. Unfortunately you'd have to grab it every time you want to build something fun with one.
One of the very first things the tutorial tells you is that you can use Zonaite to build instead lol
Fuck, thought that was just a cost you had to pay for convenience sake. I'm fucking stupid.
Christ no matter how good of a UX dev you are there will always be Gankertards to fuck up
>One of the very first things the tutorial tells you is that you can
The fact ive seen about seven dozen different responses about this game starting with this exact sentence proves Ganker on average is absolutely retarded and is incapable of following simple instructions right in front of them
Then again, pre-launch emufags and post launch fags were complaining about the 3rd tutorial shrine, being unable to solve puzzles on the skyland, despite the fucking robots telling you everything youd need to know and the game being so signposted that itd be impossible to get stuck.
But fuck me does Ganker even read?
"I want to explore the depths, but have no arrows"
>One of the very first things the tutorial tells you in the depths is that you can throw seeds with R
Nope, you can pay with zonaite to create parts including ones that you don't normally have access to like platforms, boats, etc.
Autobuild can clone anything that can be fused, which is everything that isn't nailed down, or connected to something by chain or rails.
>Actually I haven't tried it yet but autobuild might be able to clone it, not sure
if you just want the battery fuse 2 of them together and favorite the double battery to strap it to whatever
once all the values are discovered for save editors, you can just add fused weapons in with those unobtainable shit.
That's why auto build exists. To replaces parts you don't have available around you with Zionite you have in pocket. So once you have made your infinite battery or whatever the fuck ever structural monstrosity. You can save it as a favorite in your auto build and throw it out whenever.
I need to write this down. Do you need to do the entire Tarrey Town quest line for this?
The unfuse?
No its a service thats available straight away
Nice. How much it cost?
Only 20 rupee
well I know what I'm doing today
unless theres some other trick to this all that shrine battery does is power the shock emitter and electrify metal objects, its not doing anything to movement parts like fans or wheels
You get an electric motor and fan in the shrine east of tarrey town.
Can you just glue the shock emitter on it in there and favourite it so you always can autobuild the battery + shock emitter outside for like 10 zonaite?
You just gave ecelebs free video content for the next month just like all the webm posters pre-release
They should release creative mode as an update or dlc.
Link's mod.
Nah this is what a 10/10 game and sequel looks like.

All of this in 3-4.5 years of development... holy shit. I fucking kneel TOKYO TEAM.
What did TotK add btw? More grinding? Its just a shitty fucking DLC of BotW with some Gmod reject crap awkwardly slapped
This is like a barry-tier flamewar attempt. KH is fantastic but trying to pit it against Totk is retarded, it's completely different.
dmcfag detected

DUAL WIELD
DOOL*
That is all true. However
>worse story (in fact, KH1 still has the best story in the series)
So not perfect.
You can get fucking batteries to attach to your buildings, you don't need infinite battery
Just play Garry's mod if youre in it for building.
This is the one lifeline shitposters have, isn't it?
And it's not even bad, either. Like...is calling the game "garry's mod" supposed to be a bad thing? Gmod is amazing. So tacking gmod gameplay onto an already good game is just more good gameplay to enjoy.
This lol
>Bro it's like Gmod 20 years ago lmao
>Gmod is a phenomenal game this is epic!!
>N-No!! NOT LIKE THAT
Yeah, whenever people bitched about the shrines in BotW I always thought, "wait, aren't these basically Portal levels?
>Portal's puzzles stopped being tutorials and tech showcase shit after a few chambers
How would this be possible in a non-linear game?
Shrines move up in difficulty the further away from the starting point you travel. There, fixed it. Instead I'm still running into literal tutorials on the outer edges of the map.
Anon, this is going to fucking blow your mind: keep the tutorial shit inside the fucking tutorial island
A few hours before I was doing that one shrine that I mentioned, I was doing a fucking tutorial shrine about fucking sneaking. Literally why the fuck. This shit isn't even near the center of the map for fucks sake
Exactly
Literal retard game design
>I was doing a fucking tutorial shrine about fucking sneakin
don't forget how game slowly and unskipapble tells you the "task" of the fucking shrine. Same for every "tutorial" combat one/ So fucking bad.
I did like 100+ shrines already and I rememreb maybe 2 of them. And 30% or fucking more where just EMPTY SHRINES I found in a fucking cave or whatever. I know this idiotic game considers getting to a shrine in a fucking cave as a puzzle (which is hilarious) but why make me waste time wait 2 loadings and a bunch of cutscenes instead of spawning reward right there and fucking then. Bloated time waster
a nice reminder for that one streamer that didn't find out about Z-targeting and jumping back and sideways, enabling flurry rush until like, halfway through the game.
leave tutorial shit for a tutorial island
or better yet make a good puzzles and let players figure it out by themselves without fucking tutorials... I thought this dumb fucking game is all about freedom?
Garry mods is no fun retard
Garry's Mod doesn't have any purpose for building things.
neither does totk if you're just building for the purpose of building, which is what every webm for the first week of release was doing
You literally have never played Gmod, this is cope beyond anything I've ever seen before
I no-lifed gmod for years.
You're right, my dream is the depth of building of Besiege in an actual fully featured game
post your gmod hours
>lasts about 30 seconds before the battery runs out
Fun
>lasts about 30 seconds before the battery runs out
>what are Zonai Charges
>what are large Zonai Charges
>what are Batteries
>What are Large Batteries
>air balloons despawn in 2 minutes
My biggest problem with this game is parts despawning.
Yea they probably put this because so much material would be to much switch hardware
>all the parts flash green and break within 1 minute
no anon, it’s only worth making something in this stupid game if it is efficient and costs you less time than just doing it normally
>no anon, it’s only worth making something in this stupid game if it is efficient and costs you less time than just doing it normally
The fact that there are some people who think this (but unironically) shows how based OP's initial comment is
Genuine question, what is zoanite for, and what are are lumimous stones for?
Small zoanite is currence for various things, most importantly for bootleg autobuild parts. Large zoanite is for buying battery upgrades, you can do it with small as well, but don't.
Luminous stones are for clothing
>starts glowing green
>starts blinking green
>entire thing breaks
>drop floating platform from bags and get on
>use autobuild to make another machine
>continue as usual
Literally cope
Autobuild takes parts or zonaite which need to be farmed from the depths.
if youre not getting 100+ zonaite everytime you drop down there im not sure what the fuck youre doing- even if you have to spend 15 to make your Mining/Coloniser/Earth-Razer death machine to help farm
Hold on, mining machine? Can you tell me what that is? I've been avoiding Zelda threads.
Just use the infinite battery cheat code
Oh wait
>Have next to no say in the overall geometry off creations, just what you can slap together from predetermined junk
It's not a creative's game, I'll say that
>overall geometry
What a meaningless phrase
>overall geometry
Ain't no passing craze!
>just make your own fun
might as well play with a box of toothpicks
have at it lad. i'll stick with totk for another 100 hours 🙂
>soulless NPC going "haha gaaaaay you should play with toothpix!"
>meanwhile, soulful chad
Oddly enough these structures remind me of TOTK.
SOVL CONFIRMED
If this game was totally unchanged in every single way except it was called Mechanus and the main character was a guy named Torg in some typical fantasy armor fighting a wizard named Zerb you all would think it was an okay but forgettable Minecraft clone with Nuts and Bolts thrown sprinkled on top and rate it 6/10.
>"If it was different then you would rate it differently!"
>I skipped over reading the first line so YOU are the idiot!
>makes up scenario in head
This is the best they can do after the MASTERPIECE that is Tears of the Kingdom was released.
Sad cope!
Are the tendies in the room with us right now?
they hated him for speaking the truth
So true. btw I will not play Tunic or Alundra or Xanadu Next because I want *Zelda* (my favorite brand)
As someone who has a lot of playtime in Scrap Mechanic, I might think it's like Scrap Mechanic but with significantly better combat and infinitely more stuff to do in the world perchance.
You can't just say perchance
H-HOW DARE YOU
MODS DO SOMETHING
>soulless gacha imitation vs. a true innovator
true
oh no what will I do without 5 of the 400 zonai charges sitting in my inventory
lmao Genshin really did steal the shit out of Zelda's artstyle.
On par for Chinks.
Artstyle is an improvement, but clearly inspired by BotW. The map and quest UI is a direct copy.
they stole a shit out of mechanics too
they toned it down a bit after the backlash
>mogged by a fucking mobile gacha
Reminder that the switch is has less power than a OG XBOX. The game is a technological marvel!@!!
Umm zeldabros our response???
I'd still enjoy it just as much, but I likely wouldn't hear about it because Ganker doesn't talk about non-AAA games.
It would still get all the praise and be hailed as a new, innovative gaming ip.
If Grandma had balls she'd be Grandpa
This. Without Zelda in the title it wouldn't reach 60/100 on Metacritic
Holy shit what a dumb fuckin opinion
Oh ho ho
>Game is absolutely nothing like Zelda
>Biggest criticisms of that innovative new game are that its not like old Zelda
>"If it didn't have Zelda in the name, people would hate it!"
Could apply a similar post to botw too.
Of course it applies to BotW, they are the same damn game just one has BKN&B slapped on to make sure it has no identity of its own whatsoever. But OP says it is a genius Rorschach test to see if brain work good or not.
tendies seething at this post
pretty much. I think a lot of Ganker thinks this game is mediocre but is shitposting it as a 10/10 because of console war gayry
I'd think it was a blatant ripoff of breath of the wild.
Naah, if it was like you describe, it would be lauded as the next new original game to break the mold and you wouldn't see all those people like you complaining about it being a Zelda game.
not really. The construction elements have the depth of an indie game but with fuck tons of nintendo polish to cover this up, which makes sense since they spent years on it + infinite nintendo money
either way it's a pathetic rip off of genshin
How many times are you going to post this terrible copypasta?
Yes (although more like a 7 or maybe an 8). And this is the case with a lot of brand games.
Souls don’t exist.
Prove it
I won’t and can’t do that just like I won’t and can’t prove that invisible pixies or Darth Vader don’t exist. I’ll still gladly state that they don’t.
>and can’t
Thought so, gay.
Would you react the same way if I stated that the tooth fairy doesn’t exist?
Shouldn't make claims on things you can't prove and therefore don't know, cunt.
They do exist, they are called thetans. You need some auditing.
>this bro doesn't have a soul
lmaoing at your hylic ass
i have 486 poe souls right now you lying gay
if you’re not donating half your paycheck to Scientology or Mormonism then yes, you’re soul is dormant.
I'm pretty sure he made the elder scrolls soundtracks
Give or take art style but they have different maps and mechanics at the very least, not just the same map with sky islands and an underworld
>sky islands and an underground that rivals size of the world map are not "different" from botw
>building, rewind, ascend, fuse are not "different" mechanics from stasis, magnetism, ice, and bomb
You don't get rewarded for combat
you get rewarded with materials, which in TOTK is a significant reward when it comes to making cheap-dick weapons that are more powerful than sticking a rusty nail to a rusty nail. a fire keese wing alone stuck to a spear is more effective than half the big dick clawymores you can fuse.
link's awakening had 2 sequels released sharing assets. 3 were planned.
And they were totally different
Only thing different between the n64 games and wind waker was different artstyle and water.
And I include TOTK in that
What is that hideous garbage
This is what playing ToTK is like
How so?
>OPEN YOUR MIND LITTLE ONE
>IF YOU CAN'T MAKE YOUR OWN FUN IN OUR SANDBOX THEN IT'S YOUR FAULT
>>IF YOU CAN'T MAKE YOUR OWN FUN IN OUR SANDBOX THEN IT'S YOUR FAULT
The whole point of TotK is that no one is asking you to make your own fun though, there is an actual story to progress through, they just let you make your own shit to go about getting everywhere.
I fail to see how these are not all positive points. Enjoy your soulful shitbox you made yourself instead of some boring thing someone else made for mass appeal. All the better if you can fix and mod it yourself easily whenever you want.
Honestly, every time I see this image, I think 100% correct and that car is actually hilariously cool, it actually looks badass, like a dwarf armorcar.
explain what is bad about this pic without sounding like a corporate apologist
It's not a GNU car it uses a closed source chassis.
youre not supposed to like this game
it's a reddit game
I just wish my device wouldn't lag anytime I build shit. It just runs at such a low fps
Unironically the Howard is responsible for all cancer in gaming
>Horse armor : the beginning of microtransactions
>skyrim: the beginning of open world crafting popularity
>fallout 4: the start of "make the fun yourself!" Building in the world
What's next for this madlad?
>What's next for this madlad?
Suicide, hopefully
Starfield will bring back Daggerfall style procedural worlds made of a dozen templates rearranged endlessly, and it will be the next gaming revolution everybody copies.
So Zelda is now basically Minecraft
Also I got ER when it came out and refunded it cause it played like shit on Launch in the Steam Deck and I was looking for an open world game for the Deck.
dark souls is a better zelda game than botw & totk
>Dark souls is a better Zelda game
>Zelda relies on item descriptions to tell its story
look i know you think autistic puzzle solving and lock on combat is what zelda is about but nah dude, Dark Souls doesnt even have the layered dungeon system, you just wander into an area, unlock a door and kick a bosses ass.
to say Dark Souls is a better Zelda game is almost as autistic as saying Zelda is "better" than Dark Souls. theyre different games
>Take BOTW map but add GMOD
>Ruin it by making the shit you create have a timer
Yeah no, fuck this shit.
can you mod the game to have infinite battery and the glider not despawn yet?
Tears of the Kingdom?
Played it years ago
Would be better if the AI wasn't completely retarded. Reality is you don't need to build crazy shit to defeat enemies because they're all braindead in the first place and can be easily beaten by a stick.
Wish there was a hard mode where they made the AI far more intelligent.
Wish we had a couple more enemies like Lynels
Nedd to have a soul 'cause the game has none...
>Battery Capacity: 5 seconds
>t. didn't play the game
I've already played "Bad Piggies" though
I do like this feature, but this is baby's first builder and no where near as good as other offerings. It's the Nintendo fanboys that get me thinking that this is somehow innovative.
>Bad Piggies
>2D game
Yeah it's totally the same thing
It's really not.
>The overworld has been changed enough that it doesn't feel like as much of a retread as it could be
>The Sky Islands are great as small additional pieces of content
This is the problem with BotW and TotK's systems, they're all easily exploited and broken leaving the entire system inherently worthless
>Cooking is trivialized by Hearty veggies ALWAYS giving the player full health + bonus hearts
>Making interesting weapon combinations is pointless when you can simply fuse your highest value monster part to get the most damage
>Climbing was broken by Revali's Gale in BotW and Airbike in TotK
>Even without the Airbike the Paraglider makes the game an exercise in flying over all the gameplay to get to the next Shrine or location
Ive seen people deck out wings with time bombs to give air cover during Lynel fights it's sick
Video? Can't really picture what you're talking about.
Not the same but this comes to mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWJrlXfRMKw
it gets good after 150 hours :^)
Mechs are literally just people meming, you can make autonomous battlebots that fuck shit up
>only things of note in the Depths are materials
It has significantly more armor and better weapons than the overworld
>Gloom restoration mechanic is bad
You have to make your own challenge in these games, it's like how you don't pause and restore health mid combat to prevent every death just because you can. It's a kids game.
>Control Stick with two Fans saved in Autobuilder is the best vehicle in the game hands-down
Not true, a stabilizer is better and you won't have the battery power to make the vehicle you describe even go anywhere unless you have significantly explored the Depths
>Why build literally any other vehicle
>Why travel on horse when airbike
>Why build a contraption to send a Korok
>why use the Sky Island's resources and solve puzzles to get to new areas
Because the airbike doesn't move that quickly or cost very little power, at base battery you're going basically nowhere and even with multiple batteries it is not zipping you all around like you seem to believe
>Cooking is trivial because of max health increasers
Not to mention that you have to unlock that shit first while rocket shields are most likely available right on the tutorial island
>30 minutes cooldown
Did you even play the fucking game? The ability had a really low cooldown even before upgrading it with the DLC trial
Literal retard post, fuck off
>Are you absolutely taking a fucking giggle?
he literally didn't even play the game
I did, in, like, 2017 on Wii U. I replayed it later on hard but opted to not use any champion abilities.
>It has significantly more armor and better weapons than the overworld
copypasted from BTOW DLC LOL
very good
Microtransactions must have you by the neck, eh?
>Wrong.
Also, those """microtransactions""" are free because I can just borrow the toys from my friend Emuiibo
>complete downgrades
>the same as other pieces of armor that offer the exact same effects
There's a meaningful difference here.
>Why are you ignoring a major game feature? I can just borrow the amiibos from a friend
I'm not ignoring anything, I'm saying that you can get it without buying the toy, so that's what the majority of people will do.
>share some armor sets with BotW
you mean ALL
There is new armor in the game, so yeah, it's not an issue that you can get all of the armor from the first game in the new biome.
>all the armor from BOTW
ok where's the Vai Gerudo Town disguise? Clearly someone on the team was mad there was a shitton of fanart of Link getting plowed in it.
>why is it bad that it has all of its DLC armors strewn across a new biome?
"new" biome? you mean hyrule reskin
Why is it bad? Why are they reused in the first place? How about making just as much new shit like BOTW had huh?
>make just as much new shit as BotW
TotK is better than BotW because the devs didn't have to waste time making new assets lol.
>TotK is better than BotW because the devs didn't have to waste time making new assets lol.
what the fuck were they doing then if not making assets? jerking off all day?
>You have to make your own challenge in these games
Okay but where do I draw the line?
>Don't use Hearty Vegetables in recipes, throw them out as soon as you get them
>Force myself to use weird and wacky weapon combinations and shove meat onto arrows
>Force myself to not use the Paraglider or the Airbike, or force myself to only use parts that I find out in the wild
>Increase stamina drain of Paraglider by 2-3x, discouraging Link from soaring over incredibly long distances
>Climbing stays the same
>Autobuild remains, but prices for parts are increased 4-5x, severely encouraging players to find their own parts out in the wild.
Just use a bomb flower arrow retard, it's the same effect without wasting one of your valuable melee weapon slots and much easier to do to boot
>throwing spear
>valuable melee weapon spot
It's to get rid of a weapon and have fun. It's just a possible combination example, there are lots of resources that have exclusive weapon effects.
>>You have to make your own challenge in these games
>Okay but where do I draw the line?
3 Heart challenge.
Aren't you softforced to get a heart to advance the plot?
Yes but you can sell it later.
The depths has the best weapons and the armor to wield them but its not like it matters, you constantly have materials to make a 30+damage weapon trough the entire game.
>It has significantly more armor
Name some in the depths that are worth using.
>better weapons
Wrong. The best weapons (Gerudo, Zora, Gloom, etc) all found on the surface
>YoU have to make your own challenge
The devs have to make a challenge too, and this game lets you heal 10000000000000000 times while paused, while armor makes you take no damage.
>Cooking plain health restoration dishes isn't really helpful, it's all about the stat boosters
You can eat both dumbass, there's no limit.
>But if you actually experiment then you discover that the effects created by different parts have a wide range of utility
Lmao it's a few elemental effects (half of which are questionably useful) and shield rockets/glider.
>It's part of the gameplay being an emergent sandbox
Also known as "trash".
>Name some in the depths that are worth using
Lots of classic/nostalgia sets are here.
>better weapons
>Gerudo, Zora, Gloom
Irrelevant, weapons respawn forever.
>negligible effects
>double damage
LMAO brainless monkey can't into the game he is shilling.
>requires resistant armor to be useful
>higher base damage than most weapons requires armor(???)
Schizo tier rambling
>You named maybe 30 items
?
>there's lots of variations of elemental stuff
The bike becomes better the more you upgrade your batteries plus if you get a Level 2 Zonaite Armor Set well you be able to go from one side of the map to the next on a single charge.
>level 2 Zonaite armor set
You make it sound like you wouldn't have to look this up to have it early enough to make it count
Even early on the Hoverbike is useful to help you build up your Energy Cells and get the Zonaite equipment. It's just an exponential improvement because as you get more cells the distance you can travel increases.
BotW1 was the same way, you get good armor and suddenly you're a one man wrecking crew. Still hunting down the last barbarian armor piece...
the problem with armor is that it's a simple, flat reduction. a 24 armor effectively reduces all damage by 6 hearts, down to a minimum of one quarter.
since most enemies in the game have shit weapon you quickly go past their damage.
A lock that can be opened by anything is useless. Just like your mom at the bar Saturday night, it takes a colossal fuck up to not get in there.
>bad lock analogy
Ask me how I know you dont get laid lmao
its because you cant understand good game design, gay
Isn't this game the biggest auto filter between smooth brains and people with imagination?
Not the biggest, that'd be some super niche autist physics simulator you couldn't hand to a random person and expect them to figure out. Especially if the UI and such are overcomplicated. But the game is simply the most accessible mass litmus test for illustrating pic related in modern times.
That's absurd anon, there's so many limitations to the creation and buildings compared to existing games. I don't want to spend 10 minutes building a simple puzzle beater.
>PCfags finally get a leak work playing
>All they do is bitch about it
Further proof that the PC crowd are purely in it for tweaking and modding and don't actually play video games. They don't want games, they want something to bitch about.
Trying to do the eternal battery with shock emitter and empty battery but it drains as soon as I turn it off and the shock emitter used energy.
Puffshrooms
well it is indeed an improvement compared to BOTW
But still... it's fun when you are unprepared. If you go there in more appropriate time it's breeze and boring ass garbage because you've seen all of this already and have resources to delete most of enemies
Why are there so many posts in these threads from people that haven't played the game but acting as if they have. The discrepancies are obvious but you double down as if it's going to make a difference to those that own and are enjoying it.
cope
Some gays still keep insisting the game is just BotW, but you fuse rocks to sticks like it's March.
Might as well call Botw's DLC a whole new game because you can ride a bike now
hmm? so what the actual difference?
>map has been changed quite a bit, with many caves and a changed topology
>sky islands and depths on top of that
>tons of side quests, even excluding the multiple >"bring me 10 bear asses" ones
>complete new set or runes and tools that change how you explore the map
>much more interactivity with the world, with many new systems
reusing the map is a bit meh, but don't pretend there isn't a lot new stuff to find and discover, even seeing how old things changed can be interesting.
but you'll probably cope how none of what i said matters despite being objectively what has been added
it's not the same map, redditors think that having the same shape = having the same layout
i mean all the towns and general points of interest are the same
hateno in totk is still where hateno was in botw with the same layout and everything, even if a few things have been added/changed like all the cece stuff everywhere and the locations of shrines
>he thinks its the same as actual gambling
more proof you keep posting about games you haven't played
The finale was everything I wanted from the game and I'm glad I was able to avoid getting spoiled about it.
the ending is shit. Asspulls upon asspulls for setpieces' sake:
1. you lose your body and mind when you transform, but light dragon suddenly helps you fight out of nowhere
2. the ganon dragon should also lose its mind and float around like the others spreading gloom or whatever
3. ganon is the only dragon with his stone visible and glowing weakspots.
Plenty of great games and some filler between them and we still have armored core coming later. what a great time to be someone that plays video games instead of doomposting about them
>dude it's just the same map
At least use one that people recognize because ti's so overused.
Yakuza doesn’t take 6 years to make.
It's been the exact same game since the first one.
Every Yakuza in the entirety of the series plays exactly the same.
But, of course
>Japan: :O
>Same exact
>Recreations of different eras so buildings are added, changed, or removed to represent normal passage of time in the real city
>3 different console generations
And the longest turn around time has been 2 years, but most being yearly. Complete with combat overhauls, different arcade classics, and mini games. The whole point of reusing a map is to turn out games faster. But because BotW is made by Zillenials and zoomers, they have no fucking idea what they are doing and the old hands are just there to optimize their fuck ups so it fits on a cartridge.
>But, of course
>Japan: :O
Nintendo is suddenly not Japanese?
i was just pointing out the removal of the highway on the same city
why do people get so offended?
Yes its very similar to garys mod with building but who cares?
Gary mods is amazing, it offered so much content and fun, there should be more like it.
Does totk have flaws?
Yes, no game is flawless, some flaws make a game and give it personality. Thing you can look back on and give hope for future titles or just come to terms with a grounded view of this game, intead of putting it on a pedestal.
I really wish people would grow up and stop acting like kids who need to argue every little thing. Threads would be so much better and have far less pointless bickering.
I'm all for arguments and discussion but most seem so fucking trivial and pointless.
copy pasted reddit post
Now attach koroks to it
I keep seeing discussion outside of here with “there are no microtransactions, so it is fun” without the least bit of reflection on how far their standards have fallen because of the absolute state of the industry. You already let them get away with the $70 dollar shit test, that mtx train is never late.
>mtx headcanon
Nintendo will never put mtx into their games, it's like saying there are coins in Mario so why not mtx next. Makes no sense.
They just let Sony and MS push the Overton window first so they can keep up a “good guy” façade.
>physical drm dlc in the form of overpriced funko pops
>charge yearly for roms you paid for already
>Sony and MS push the Overton window
Yeah, no. Refusing to implement reverse compatibility and creating toys has been a decision since the Switch was first released. They'll monetize their mobile titles, but they're not going to make Zelda a gacha game just because Genshit copied it.
>Not make Zelda a gacha
>When it has gacha mechanics built in
The system is ready. By the next one you will absolutely have currency packs.
Good, it should
>Meme arrows all the factual points
>Has no argument against them
Breath of the Wild fans everybody.
Why would i do that when i could just use 2 fans and a steering stick?
How does the limit on flying work? is it based on time in the air or distance? is there any way around it?
Just build a hoverbike, the wing is fucking worthless because of how easily it breaks
do those rotating spike columns the big construct guys drop do anything special?
Weapon fusion mats.
I was hoping they'd function as like a super battery or something
they're the only parts that are both blunt and zonai other than some random junk that doesn't give much attack so they're good for that at least.
>Ganker passes blood about Elden Ring for over a year
>the same people who cried "ZELDA WILL BE BETTER LOOOL" are the Gankertards screaming the zelda is shit and ER was better
I like both, console wars are for retards and poorfags.
I agree except I'm not playing either of them
I really like it but it's too easy because of how easy it is to build stuff that lets you skip content.
Also the atmosphere isn't as strong as it was in BotW.
I just don't like open world game.
just pick a direction and see what there is to do
Words cannot express how pissed off their "Dream House" system makes me.
No windows on any of the housing piece, 15 is not enough to make a truly nice looking house with some of the decoration pieces. Even 20 would've been so much fucking better.
I just wanted to make a large house, but because the lack of variety of pieces you're fucking forced to use those open floor all sides pieces.
I'l probably try doing it another way next time, but fuck sakes this is truly the worst customize housing I've fucking seen.
just wanted a spacious 3 story house with deck on the 3rd floor. And got this ugly shit.
why is there so much empty space in the lot if you can only use 15 modules, should have been 25 minimum
From fantasy to sci Fi. Yikes
i'm finally trying to play this game seriously and i'm finding that the zonai construct mechanics don't gel with the rest of the game at all (besides the shrines which are made for them). everything else in the game takes a couple seconds to do but building one vehicle takes like 5 minutes and you barely get any benefit out of it. but i haven't gotten any steering devices or the autobuild ability yet so maybe that makes it better.
has anyone made a hentai animation using totk machines and physics yet?
Machines are not for fug, anon
>Wanted to fuck with the dreamhouse system
>decide to use item dupe for rupees specifically for this future DLC content sink
>it's poorly implemented in every sense of the word
tthank fucking god I didnt spend time grinding the rupees out to fuck with this monstrosity, I'd have been highly pissed
I know I shouldn't have to ask if it'd been made yet, but did someone recreate Loss in ToTK yet?
kek okay, nice simple one. I was hoping for animated robots made out of stuff, but im sure that ones cooking
>10 fans
>1 or 2 cannons
>no way to descend
The things you build fall apart and don't have any real power behind them. That's my only gripe with the building etc.
If later in the game you could make things which retain their form and their functionality was greatly improved, I would feel more like saying "10/10".
Where do you find that boat?
What picture do you have hanging in your house? 🙂
I don't have the house yet but it's gonna be Purah
I spent like 2 hours trying to design a nice house, but I think I'm going to take it all down and just make 14 different gallery rooms and a main entrance.
For whatever amusing photos I take
Please tell me I'm not the only one who went unga bunga retard and bruteforced the fire temple. I did the first two locks with the carts but then just figured I can climb, glide and ascend for the last three without using the carts at all. Checked out some walkthrough because I figured it was not the "intended" way and I just skipped all the puzzles. Also I apparently did them in a wrong order.
I caveman brained that one too. It's deceptively easy to avoid doing most of the content in the intended way.
i declined to participate in both the fire and water temple and simply cheesed them with devices and ascend/recall
Simply there is no intended way to do it as long as it gets done
this is the motto of these games
>Checked out some walkthrough
>in a kids game
Yes you are a retard. Sorry for your loss
soul:the game
>hey look
>basically i'm not gonna play genshim impact, don't matter how much you post that shit here
>i know... ugh i know i'm sorry!
>it's just that i ain't playing it, it's all
>hahahahahahaha
The balloons disappear after a while so air pirate adventures are a no go.
I didn't realize this had come out already, tell me what is the status of Zelda's butt in this one?
Ah yes, it looks extremely natural, we've stumbled upon a monsters lair most certainly
Sure is loveable
remember for those with open minds wonders await
>open world goyslop
No thanks, I'll leave that one to the casual normies.
>open world masterpiece
Yes please, and keep this out of the casuals' hands.
So when my camera is full and I've spoken to the lab guy, should I delete all my useless photos?
I honestly can't believe they tried that shitty car building mechanic from that other horrible goyslop game again
And in a zelda game no less
Fucking hell garden gnomes really can't create they can only subvert and destroy
>I honestly can't believe they tried that shitty car building mechanic from that other horrible goyslop game again
If you think Besiege is shit then your opinion is of no value to me.
does it emulate well
Yes, Yuzu runs it the best
thanks
10/10 if you're a tendie
6/10 if you're normal
>Kakariko Village well
>no gibdos
Missed opportunity
>all these scrubs complaining about battery life don't know that cooking a meal instantly recharges your battery
Stop browsing western content and get on the japanese meta. Being a pot to cook in on your vehicle and you can fly forever just by cooking one simple meal. You're already 10 steps behind.
TOTK is just nintendo labo but digital
I heard whistling brings your companions to you. Is that true?
I'm enjoying the game but starting to feel burnout. How much more game is there after doing the 4 temples?
Don't call them temples, please
Ok, how much of the game is left after doing the 4 dungeons
Seething zoomer
Everything is optional. Just go and defeat Ganondorf if you want to be done.
Aw yea the pinnacle of adventure. It don’t matter, like whatever man. You can kill him with a mop for youtube clout.
Serious question. What is the actual point of having more than 3 hearts if it makes the enemies harder to kill?
that'd be cool if all the effort you put into building that was rewarded but the battery system limiting the lifespan of anything you build is pretty gay. if the sequel just goes full nuts and bolts and lets you build stuff and save it and keep it forever i'd be interested.
>either farm a bunch of zonaite gacha orbs and then spend 5 minutes dropping each piece until you have all of the pieces to build it
>or blow your zonaite on autobuilding it more than twice
what's the point again?
Does whistling atract Spirits?
As a ginger, I find this post horrendously offensive.
I don't get it.
Vikings
I still don't get it. Did Vikings attack or hate gingers?
>Can only activate every single part at once with no depth
>Power system is just a separate stamina bar with no depth
>Parts all Just Work with no depth
>Can't keep anything you build for any appreciable amount of time because the game still needs to balance around the shitty premise of being a wild rock climbing survivalist in a permanent state of scavenging for supplies like it was a bethesda fallout game
>Can't modify in any way, only glue
You believe engineering is just sticking shit together, pressing a button, and then things just work
And also that fuel magically replenishes and teleports right from your hands into the machine as it is used
I don't think you have any right to be calling anyone else a retard
engineering is construction with a means to solve a problem it literally doesnt fucking matter where the magic fuel comes from, this is a videogame you spaz. you definitely are a retard if you think sticking 40 sticks together in a configuration that lets you cross a chasm isnt engineering and architecture even in a most obscure, basic sense lmao. fuck off.
>it isnt engineering if its unrealistic and uses magic
lol
Vehicles have no depth, period
It's just a physics system and how you actually used it was an afterthought
PEAK SOUL
?t=506
>build nice looking scrap car out of whats available
>enter a shrine
>come out
>car gone
>have to rebuild it with the zonite I have to grind out
>cheaper to just make a non aesthetic looking, cheap pile of crap with jets glued to it instead
the game basically punishes any higher level of creativity
>it's a 10/10 if you like coping and eating shit
Does he want his armor upgraded or not?
How soon do you think there will be a mod where you can override placing 15 rooms?
How soon until there will be a mod for more buyable room compartments.
i'd settle for being able to paint the fucking thing, those tarrey town assholes are rubbing it in my face with their several colors
lol I was about to ask wtf is
>this
shrine, and then I realised what's wrong with the picture.
Also, Siwakama Shrine was a joke, especially when you know that it's not one of the first, but is probably the easiest.
