Its a saturday 11 am. Heavy rain outside and projected to keep falling all day. You boot up project comfoid(with levelers run) because irl youre not a moron who cant do basic tasks and the grind for skills is unfun.
You arrange your base, set some traps, plow your garden, go fishing, go for a trip to the city for vinegar, go swap out your car tires for those you saw at that garage.
Has this level of comfy been matched by any other game?
dayz mod probably gave me the same comfy level. most modern games like state of decay only scratch the surface on depth which sucks. I feel SoD could've really been a 3rd person PZ if they didn't sell out to M$
Sadly, all immersion with sod2 is lost when you look at the gun while firing, its just a smooth swaying, no jitter, no sensation of recoil at all. Embarrasing. 50% of a zombie game is gunplay.
How many hours of gameplay until I get to this level of comfy? The Black person zombies keep biting me
Step 1 is to turn infection OFF thru the following logic:
Its transmissable thru air yet youre uninfected, which means that you will rrmain uninfected no matter the means of transmission.
A couple deaths and you should get the hang of it. How I learned was keep track of what I'm trying to do and see if how I did it works or not. Eventually you should develop yourself a set of rules that should keep you alive decently consistent. Here's some of mine:
>Always double-tap doors, closing them a milisecond after opening them. Gives you a peek into the next room while preventing you from getting BATHROOM'D
>Clear first, loot second. Never open a single container untill you've checked the entire building. The second you start looting it's way too easy to let your guars down, casually walk into the one room you didn't check and then get jumped.
>Never drive at night
>keep yourself (not your character) calm. You panic, you die. Zombie apocalypse is just like scuba in that regard.
Play ACDC instead
Thread ruined
I will remind you
>eavy rain outside and projected to keep falling all day
it literally always rains in georgia and this literally never happens.
I've never played this game, get me started/interested
I am generlly into gaming for visceral satisfaction, not planning, so I don't think I could ever like it.
>visceral satisfaction, not planning
You won't like it then. You can definitely go full Rambo but you'll end up dying. And even if you find a large cache of guns, you won't be able to hit shit at 0 aiming
at this point every single PZ thread is by a massive coper
he goed "omg this tile I'll show those CDDA Black person FO' SHO'"
it doesn't work
at this point everyone knows CDDA is the better game and you are in denial
>CDDA
garbage tier presentation, whys it better?
Extra autism. That's about it. You can craft more and crazier things largely from scratch. The cars end up as mobile mad max death machine/base hybrids rather than just better cars.
Honestly less downtime than PZ too. Because actions fast forwards time instead of being a waiting game. Reading in PZ sucks ass in actual real time. Cataclysm has the decency to say "that took 4 hours and you can't be bothered to read more" in an instant.
PZ has a better atmosphere. Is spookier and more grounded. As much as a zombie game can be.
The settings between the two are very different. Cdda is "every apocalypse at once with sci-fi and magic and l4d mega zombies and ..." PZ is usually just slow zombies.
Both are good. For actually playing the games I prefer cdda

wait so PZ makes you just sit around waiting for things to happen in order to do in-game functions?
to me thats a golden rule of video gaming that you never break, and it makes you trash to break it..you don't disrespect people's real actual real life time
It's the standard of your game is real time. And my main gripe with most survive and craft kind of games. Unreal world and cataclysm spoiled me early by being so good about it.
To have a really good time/scale balance I think you need to abstract the rest of the world in a similar way to those though. Ain't nobody got time to walk for a week just to trade furs in a real time game. Slap an overworld in it and let the player spend a few minutes doing the trek.
Slow or no fast forward in city builders is just as painful. I just want to engage with the actual game. Not wait for hours on end.
imagine voluntarily waiting LOL
You can speed things up. It has 3 speed options
>wait so PZ makes you just sit around waiting for things to happen
no, there's a fast forward button. don't let that get in the way of your self-righteous homosexual tantrum though lmao.
That fast forward button sucks absolute ass in comparison to the games I'm comparing it to. Super slow x3 is nowhere near the speed I'd want out of it
not OP but I don't always want to play a tile based game, and I've played a couple hundred hours of roguelikes
that said I only played project zomboid for like 10 hours. it's enjoyable but frustrating. in a way there's not enough to do to keep me interested
>walk up stairs
>zombie instantly appears on top of me
>get bit
Is there a mod to fix this run ending bullshit?
Nah, there's literally zero mods to deal with your skill issue

Holy shit this game is fricking boring.
Once you get of the house, you're just sat around waiting and reading books.
everytime i try to play this i get scared when the audio sting from seeing a zombie happens 🙁
they added the option to change how loud the jumpscare sound is in the new update
wtf is levelers run
i really dislike the grind for skills so can someone please explain to me what op is talking about?
I've been playing mist survival. it's still pretty buggy, but damn is it fun
frick off shill
trash game
Uh oh someone is very assmad and fishing for (you)s in this very thread
