>it's a stealth game

>it's a stealth game
>90% of its mechanics/weapons are only relevant if you get caught and need to fight your way out
>only 10% of the content are useful in actual stealth
Why do stealth game developers always do this shit? Especially in MGS

I also hate metro exodus for doing that.
"We known taking out human's in the dark Is the best part but how about you have to sneak around and unrealistically knock out 12 people to get the good ending?"

Stop assuming that a stealth game needs Thief levels of stealth gadgets. All the Metal Gear games only had a paper deep emphasis on stealth and gave you shit for going loud. The act of stealth is based upon your mastery of the game systems, and the trinkets you get are for how you play if/when you frick up and things go loud. I beat that game without ever being noticed outside mandatory scenes/missions. Never build a single weapon outside rushing towards a tranc sniper and tranc pistol upgrades.

sasuke-pepe is right, the game is trying to cater to different playstyles without necessarily putting more emphasis on one over another. that's why it's
      >tactical espionage operations
sometimes you're just gonna have to shoot your way out. besides, you said it yourself, that the game's mechanics and systems are built around stealth. if that's not enough of an incentive to engage in that system, then what sort of superficial gadget will give you impetus to do that?

ngl sounds like a boring way to always play. Id play most missions as ghost as possible at least once to get S rank, but a lot of the fun is in fricking around with stuff other then tranq.

Ah yes, that's why it says 'STEALTH STEALTH OPERATIONS' under the title. I always wondered about that.

Stealth game design is just an excuse for lazy creators.

    >>only 10% of the content are useful in actual stealth
    WRONG!
Pretty much all the equiptment is useable for stealth purposes. ANd Load weapons are actually good for drawing enemies to a locations while you flank. Active stealth is the really way to play mgs, where the NPC's KNOW there is an enemy somewhere, but they dont know where.

MGSV game play DOES have a REAL problem though, and that is that it disensentivises you from using LEATHAL weapons in like every situation. THATS the shite part. I wouldnt mind if it disensentivised you in many situations, but in others it lets you go full hog with the sandbox, but it mechanically shots itself in the foot with its demon mode and low ranking with lots o' kills so that you have to actively go out of your way to use most of the sandbox instead of just tranq shit. could really somehow use a devil may cry style meter to actually support you using the sandbox to its fullest sometimes.

Because stealth is just walking around with a silenced weapon. There's no way to mix that up. Kojimbo tried with camo and it was fricking gay as shit, eat my fat liquid anus you MGS3 wienersuckers.

    >>only 10% of the content are useful in actual stealth
    ok, whats not useful?
Cause I remember being able to use pretty much everything for stealth.
Even going On sight procurment and nabbing an unsilenced AK from a gaurd can be useful to draw gaurds to an area.

I agree a lot of the stuff isnt as immediately useful as others, but ive found fun ways to use most of it.

you're confusing stealth for lethality, there are plenty of silenced weapons that are useful in stealth

building the tension through stealth, getting caught, and fighting your way out is peak videogaming
you're not meant to use all mechanics all of the time, but when you have to make do in the heat of the action it is very rewarding

Actually MGSV is the only one that does it right as due to the way that the ranking works you actually can slaughter everyone with real guns and still get the highest rank.

In MGS3 you could also do this silently by slitting throats and just using the suppressor. Killing in games like 2 is pretty iffy but it can still be done. You won't be getting the highest rank but the only real punishment is that the sorrow "fight" in 3 gets moronic but that fight can just be bypassed anyways.

Well, then you get to a boss fight and suddenly these tools are pretty useful. Once you can customize and put suppressors on most bullet weapons, it really opens up in that department, too. Then you just need the base gun that you want and whatever barrel and attachments can go on there. I only pulled out a grenade launcher against Sehelanthropus, and only used shotguns on the skulls. But I found uses for all the other weapons. I liked using rocket launchers against the heavy infantry.

    >shoots enemy with a loud shotgun

    it is a stealth game

I'm tired of silencers being treated as le silent tool, that's not how they work, that's not their purpose. It's just a shitty meme.

It's odd how Survive is the shit asset flip of V but it somehow makes far better use of its mechanics. All the stuff like setting terrain on fire and claymores and the running punch and so on that you never use in V, not to mention the guns. Strange.
