Yes actually, and if you say anything mildly out of alignment with leftist opinions on trans people or issues you will get banned from the Darktide discord instantly
>but fuck using upscaling in these games when your inputs matter
Upscaling doesn't increase input lag at all. Frame generation does (though Reflex can balance it out).
Goddamn I hate this retarded website. Why am I still here?
Needs more >levels >weapons >way more voicelines >a better story that makes it feel like we're actually making a difference >enemy factions (other chaos gods, tyranids, genestealers, Orks, and maybe even Dark Eldar)
>nids
Gaunts, which would be the poxwalkers equivalent, could easily be taken out by the PCs, and the odd warrior or ravener form is something a group capable of taking on carapace armoured ogryns could handle
Anon, the characters from Darktide regularly kill Daemonhosts, Chaos Spawn, Beasts of Nurgle, Plague Ogryn, and regular Ogryn. They could totally kill a levels worth of Nids and Orks. Fatshark would just have to make the waves of slave rat/Poxwalker equivalents Gretchin/Gaunts and make the bigger enemies as elites, specials and monstrosities.
As for the Dark Eldar, I was thinking that they could put a grand total of twenty to thirty in a level as random ambushes that show up, nearly kill you, and then run away when you begin to get a handle on them but still keep all of the damage that you did to them. So by the end of the level, they've nearly ganked you like seven times and all you really did was kill like thirty of them. They could honestly just be a special parameter for a level.
how about a way to fucking select levels to start with instead of this "rotation" bullshit ?
Yeah, forgot about that. Also, they need to put the end mission scorecard in the game. How are people going to improve if they don't know how bad or good they were doing?
It fucking god damn isn't by any metric you can possibly use. >Hey guys we made a whole new area! >Its just Throneside >But sprinkle in some of the vendor trailers from The Torrent >It just looks exactly like literally every single other map in the game besides the """desert""" one
This game is ultimate proof that liking 40k should be considered a mental deficiency.
This game is barely a proper 40k game. >Playable characters are literal gutter trash rejects of Guard units >Enmies are Cultists and Renegades, something that isn't even a proper faction, with all of the Elites being just random shmucks with wargear changes, except the Plaghe Ogryen, Chaos Spawn, and Beast of Nurgle. >Story makes zero sense within the setting. If a Cult reaches the point where Beasts of Nurgle and Daemonhosts are popping up every other mission then it's not time to be sending in random reject cannon fodder, it's time to be calling in the bigger guns >Location is just a bumfuck random hive city, one of the most boring places you can do in 40k.
>full opportunity to go Inquisitorial Kill Team >Fatshark chooses penal legion to shoehorn players "into the setting" and drop them into a "community hub" where they can watch other players shuffle around like packaging bots trying to find the last batch of lettuce in a warehouse
Are they incompetent or just seriously out of touch or both
The potential truth is a bit more complicated, albeit more stupid. Simply put, GW mandates certain aspects of games. This is due to the fact that GW is run by a bunch of old wretched Brits who think video games serve only as a means of advertising the involved tabletop models. The reason TWW and Vermintide had such an impact was due to the fact that Warhammer Fantasy was dead, therefore GW saw no reason to put mandates on them since at the time there was nothing to advertise. This changed when The Old World began to get focus, which is why TWW3 shoved in Kislev and Cathay so GW could gauge interest in them as TOW Factions.
For 40k, this means that the Imperium MUST be shown as the protagonists and must be stronger than whatever they're up against. Any title that doesn't do this is, naturally, a thowaway indie that GW signed off on out of laziness. Now consider the fact that Darktide came out notably close to the 9th Edition Imperial Guard Codex, which naturally features units that each of the Rejects are designed after. So you have a game all about Imperial Guard characters
smashing through hundreds of cultists coming out right as the Imperial Guard rulebook arrives. Surely it's entirely just a happy coincidence.
>For 40k, this means that the Imperium MUST be shown as the protagonists and must be stronger than whatever they're up against
Is that really true? Everything else you said makes sense but this part seems like a stretch
It's weird because by all reports GW is the worst possible combination of overbearing and laissez faire. At the same time it licences garbage games from shitty companies to make a quick buck, it apparently micromanages everything it can in relationship to lore and similar stuff.
It seems to let more shit slide in 40K, but they're pretty tight handed with Fantasy, which is a pain to deal with, but also leads to a more consistent setting, at the very least lore wise. Like you can pick up from concept art of WAR, Total Warhammer and VT that it's the same setting, because they're all remarkably consistent
I appreciate Fatshart for trying something that isn't marineslop, but penal legion doesn't make much sense considering the absolute carnage we're inflicting on these cults. In VT the Ubersreik 5 were all deadly and experienced so it made sense. Here it's odd that random idiots are slaughtering trained renegade guard, cults, minor daemons, and hordes of nurgle touched zombies. But on the other hand anon, cultists and renegades have been part of warhammer lore forever and represented on the table by units and in side games plenty of times. An Inquisitor can make the call to keep things quiet, whether or not it's a good call. I agree with you on the location, but even if a hive is boring they're so massive they could have made all kinds of crazy districts, cult lairs, etc. and failed there.
single crazy man with a 2 handed chainsaw sword in a frothing at the mouth psychotic rage>trained squads of renegade military troops with proper training weapons and tactics
simple as
Anon, 40k is just Marine Game now. 90% of 40k media is now directly about or at least involving Marines.
They brought Epic back specifically to shill Horus Heresy, the premuer Marines Only game. Other factions get told to sit down and shut up any time they ask for something.
Just look at the codex schedule for 10th Edition, fucking Dark Angels are getting a Codex before over half the Xenos factions are getting them.
>Location is just a bumfuck random hive city, one of the most boring places you can do in 40k.
This, i was hoping for things like spaceship during warp jump when all the chaos shit is going down, or more outdoor area with battle going on in the background, etc. Vermin 2 maps have nice visual progression, into the nest for example you start at dwarven city and it gradualy becomes more skaven scaffoldings, even convo of decay, u start at hoHispanice, into the sewers, catacomb fringes and into the cave where when you jump into ritual it transports you into some chaos realm, against the grain looks like fantasy post apo all the wrecked farms looks grim in the sunshine and rats hiding in the swaying wheat. Almost every map is like that, on the other hand DT is just dark metal corridors all the time. That's rly the only thing that made me not buying this shit. And maybe the bland convo between characters too but i could stomach it if the maps were atleast partialy as pleasing to look at as in VT2.
It should have been a bunch of Ork Freebootaz or Blood axes taking mercenary work.
A weird boy, kommando, flash git , pain boy looter and whatever else for classes.
A premise like that could do literally anything gear, enemy and location wise and could actually be written funny.
>If a Cult reaches the point where Beasts of Nurgle and Daemonhosts are popping up every other mission then it's not time to be sending in random reject cannon fodder, it's time to be calling in the bigger guns
Atoma is located in Imperium Nihilus, and takes place shortly after the Great Rift opened too. There is nobody to call and nobody is coming. Darktide is supposed to embody that grim dark 40k spirit where everyone is fucking doomed but they are fighting until the end. The Emperor is newly empowered however and seems to be intervening given the protags are somehow capable of putting down Chaos Spawn and Beasts of Nurgle.
It's been said in multipla in-game dialogues that Atoma is cut off from reinforcements, and the rejects are essentially the only thing the Mourning Star can send at the problem. But yeah, over time the stakes could get bigger.
darktide is soulless shooterslop
meanwhile vermintide is meleekino in the much better fantasy warhammer universe while boasting TF2-level charactertization
>darktide is soulless shooterslop
That's funny because melee is very strong in Darktide, and knowing how to melee well is actually what separates good players who can carry in auric V maelstrom from shitters.
Wait, it is? I thought melee was just a weak backup option for if you ran out of ammo, similar to any other shooter. That was the main reason I just stuck to VT2.
The game throws so many shit at you in difficulties 3-5 (aka the only difficulties to play unless you're a frightened child who needs empty maps to not feel panicked) that it's impossible to play fully ranged. You'll get swarmed and 50% of the matches is knowing how to not get downed by all kinds of melee fuckery. Ranged is usually used for a revolver for taking out specials you can't reach. Even the Veteran (imagined as a sharpshooter class) got pivoted into a commissar short range role, everyone is using the toughness or stealth veteran keystones (that lean towards melee) and virtually nobody uses the sharpshooter keystone.
The fact that they killed the based Old World Warhammer setting which had its own unique aesthetic and soul for STRONG BLACK WYMYN WITH SIDECUTS AND GIANT PAULDRONS in Age of Sigmar is absolutely the dumbest.
Because it meant that we had great adaptations of the setting as it was.
Can you imagine if it wasn't dead during the Floyd years? There'd be naggers in the Reikland.
At least there's a chance that, as a prequel, they won't pozz it
>shooterslop
I usually end up taking 0 ammo pick ups if we have a veteran with scavenger and do just fine as both zealot and ogryn.
Guns can be very strong but only if your team cares enough to cover you instead of all 3 piling on a door spamming left click and I only play with randoms
I play a lot of Darktide but come on now. The squad banter in VT is better, and VT's maps/bosses provide more variety.
The core gameplay of Darktide is better but the game needs more content because it gets repetitive too soon.
>friends play this >I ask why not just play rat game, dwarf game or zombie game instead because they are better games >... >OMG ANON YOU JUST HATE VIDEO GAMES OH GOD JUST LIKE GO AWAY OK
>playing a game with the bros >that weird guy I added once on a server chats >"WOW NICE GAME THERE, WHY AREN'T YOU PLAYING VERMINTIDE OR L4D OR PAYDAY OR ROR HUH?????" >um ok bro, we're just playing this cause it's fun and I like the 40k universe >"GAME SUXXXXXX PLAY BETTER GAME" >... >*blocked*
No not like that. I don't mean "akshully these are objective better games", I mean we used to play those games a lot and had lots of fun. But then instead of doing what we like they go and do the new thing without even really liking it and complain how tired they are of new games...
the only good thing darktide has over vermintide is "better" movement and more cosmetics in the tore
darktide has
less maps
less classes
less enemies
less gamemodes
I think at its core VT2 will always be better due to the gameplay, enemies and pace of combat is designed for 90% melee and 10% range while Darktide is closer to 50/50 and depending on the class sways the other.
Perhaps, but won't fix my gripes as the console players are absolutely and very consistently horrible in many ways--far beyond anything aiming related. I am generally a pretty patient person in games, but they really broke the fucking limit. I'd reinstall if they let PCfags disable crossplay (keep in mind, consolefags have been always able to opt-out), or if consolefags are a rare sight. They infest auric and maelstroms so much it's insane.
You can disable it but then instead of matching you with all PC players it'll only match you with others that have also disabled it, so essentially you'll be matched with nobody.
Since when? I uninstalled ~2 weeks back and we couldn't then. Or is this a mod? News to me.
Seen this often in copeg and said posts always got shat on--rightfully so. You can carry all you want, it becomes too taxing, frustrating, and unrewarding. You shouldn't have to carry people punching way above their weight 24/7. It's a job at that point, anon. You really should get your ego out of the equation (Ganker posting, and video games) for a change.
You can disable it but then instead of matching you with all PC players it'll only match you with others that have also disabled it, so essentially you'll be matched with nobody.
The content they're adding is just an attempt to make the game what it should been at launch. It's like releasing half game as full game and then telling that everything they add is just extra content lmao.
Welcome to games as a service
Game was incomplete as fuck on lauch but the few new maps, weapons and talent update fleshed it out a lot.
What we really need now is new weapons, more variants, balance tweaks and a crafting revamp
>obtain weapon >it has a godlike blessing >you don’t like that weapon so you just extract the blessing to put in on your favorite weapon >favorite weapon cannot support the blessing
Fuck you Fatshark, bunch of anti-fun lovers
I doubt that. But even if that was true, I have zero interest in Darktide because i lacks the colorful characters and great level aesthetics that attracted me to VT and it's also too much of a pain to start another grindy 4Deadlike.
Plus, VT2 has issues to this fucking day. No way Darktide is completely fixed
The game just feels clunkier overall compared to Vermintide. Something with input queuing feels weird. Like I can be aiming with a ranged weapon and release aim and press reload, but if I do it too quickly the reload gets lost and I have to hit R again. Same thing happens while holding a melee block and trying to switch to ranged.
Also, why does every ranged weapon have some stupid animation each type I equip it? The Helbore is the worst, flipping that switch on the side every damn time. The boltgun feels like it takes 30 seconds to completely pull out and ready for firing.
>Also, why does every ranged weapon have some stupid animation each type I equip it?
For balancing purposes. Why would you ever use the revolver over the boltgun if they both deployed instantly? Bolter rounds are stronger in every way and there's several times more ammo in the clip. But the revolver's strength is that you can quickly swap to it.
If the Hellbore didn't have a slow ass deploy animation then you'd have zero reason not to use it over literally any other lasgun. If the Bolter didn't have a long ass deploying animation then there would be zero reason to ever use a revolver over it.
I get your gripe with it and yes they are annoying but in a game where shooting and ranged combat actually matter and have significance this is needed to balance things out a bit.
I like it a lot, but it needs more maps. I know they just added one, but I meant they need to take us somewhere actually different, not on Tertium, more maps like the desert one, add a forest map or something alien etc. I dont care what bullshit they have to make up to allow this but the maps all feel too similar visually and its my only real issue with the game now.
I got bored of it again 2 days after the "GAME IS FIXED" patch
I don't understand what people think has changed and my only assumption is krieg paypig homosexuals are just that stupid
>I don't understand what people think has changed
Classes got reworked into being very flexible in terms of playstyle, and virtually all the weapons are now viable (compared to pre-patch when 80% of weapons sucked)
Doubt you actually played if you didn't notice that.
>Game still plays the exact same
You haver adically different class abilities and mechanics, and most of the guns are now viable. That is entirely different from your "weapon has useless perk" headcanon and I'm starting to think you didn't play the new patch at all.
Ultimately nothing changed. Its still the exact same as before with the exact same content as before and all just as ass to run with no optimization whatsoever. But now when you press F you can have an AoE stagger instead of a forwards rush, so the game is totally fixed.
Still only 4 classes.
Still piss easy.
Still horrendous progression.
Still not being able to freely choose a mission and difficulty.
Still not even half the amount of dialogue and banter.
Still extremely samey maps with no unique mechanics.
>worse presentation >worse hub >Cant solo >Everythings just dark >Shit level themes (bro, giant empty metal structures) >Volumetric fog smearing any and all actual nice models and graffix >2 maps in 12 months >shit missions, shit level design

All of that doesn't matter, because the game has the ONLY thing that matters, which is its set in 40K, the best setting to ever exist. And that is why it has more players at all times compared to vermintide, because nobody is interested in yet another a lord of the rings ripoff setting. Seethe forever all you want, you cannot refute this.
If V2 had cross play I guarantee it would have more players. But having a playerbase split into 3rds is outdated and archaic these days. The game is 5+ years old. It's a shame we'll never have cross play.
lol, ppl don't turn around even with mice, it would be fun with console bounty hunters missing all the ults and getting javelin raped but without ocassional long distance blightstormers kills
why isnt there a skin like this
we could even have unique voice lines for saltzpyre calling kerillian a temptress whore if an elf wears it in his lobby
im enjoying this game, just got my vet to lvl 30, and going to grind my zealot to lvl 30. can anyone explain the 40k lore to me? who the fuck is "the emperor, and who are these "heretics" who do they worship?
>The Emperor
An immortal superhuman with incredibly strong psychic powers who single handedly turned humanity into a starfaring mega civilisation. He got betrayed a while back and is now on permanent life support, unable to actually do anything. Humanity worships him as their only god (The Omnissiah Hadron worships is just another name for the Emperor). >The heretics
People who worship any of the many evil gods of the setting. The ones in Darktide worship Nurgle, the god that rules over disease and decay and "blesses" his followers with various horrible diseases, hence why half the enemies in the game look like rotting diseased zombies.
The melee combat is still boring as fuck in darktide because your solution to every situation is just spam heavy attacks. The item grind is also fucking terrible and the setting creates a very boring cast of playable characters. Darktide will never be better than vermintide unless they change up various core elements of the current game.
>no maps >shop system is terrible >upgrade system is terrible >can't start your own lobbies, have to wait for a specific mission with specific modifiers to be on the board
It's dogshit. I wouldn't recommend it unless it was f2p.
Just checked and this game gets 17k players daily on Steam alone and it has console and M$ store release too and that just makes me wonder: WHY? Like it just is not GOOD. Do people really have no choice what they play? They will play the newewst game in the genre they like no matter how bad it is? Shits fucked up.
Darktide got a big marketing push prior to release which grabbed the normalfags attention
you know how animal crossing was a dead franchise nobody had ever heard of then new horizons releases and suddenly it's mainstream and your mom plays it? that's what happened.
L4D is infamous for the barrier to entry
VT2 is still kicking, but on its way out
Payday 3 is lol, and 2 leans more to the shooter side of the genre
DRG has got stale and the previously positive community soured over embracer's bullshit. It's made worse by the fact that turning off the rockaids requires completing the season, which immediately filters out anyone who was hoping to come back once that bullshit fucked off on its own.
Darktide is the one with a likely positive future, given how the fatshark cycle works, and is currently a lot more fun than it was at launch. It's the logical choice at the moment. Given that most coop games like this require a time investment before they reach full potential, that's an important detail.
>It's made worse by the fact that turning off the rockaids requires completing the season
It's still not implemented, it will be only in the upcoming maintenance update.
>It's made worse by the fact that turning off the rockaids requires completing the season
It's still not implemented, it will be only in the upcoming maintenance update.
>a full year of rock aids >the toggle that would be most valuable to those that bailed because they were sick of it is gated behind playing more of it
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
VT2 still has a healthy playerbase and the necro update brought a lot of people back in. The steam numbers for VT2 and DT are pretty close despite VT2 being an ancient game at this point.
Same. I've almost sold all of my books and figurines (a lot of them for more than I paid originally 10-14 years ago) I'll still play a bit of the video games sometimes like I replayed the BFGA 2 campaigns recently, but this is all rare. Hobby is mad-expensive for the quality, much like Fatshark's cosmetics in Darktide, relatively very high cost for mediocre quality.
Given what enormous clusterfucks hive cities are, you could justifiably have a chaos wastes like mode just by having the characters proceed through an uncharted part.
You could also add anything short of a jungle in it too, given some of the shit that goes on
i know some banter ive heard recently says the nobles are getting uppity, maybe well get to shoot up the nobles mansions and pools and the nobles themselves
Could easily add a jungle too. Upper hive arboretum. Alternatively the planet is a deathworld and you need to do something at some hidden facility innawoods where you fight through warp corrupted animals that have overrun it and the woods you approach from
Anything that adds more enemies is virtually never going to happen.
The release of content is already utterly glacial because they decided that every map needs to be a colossal playground where 95% of the displayed area can't be traversed. Adding region-specific enemies is the kind of thing they'd gate off with a DLC, which would annihilate the game's already-floundering player numbers.
Keep in mind Darktide was down to triple-digits on Steam before they properly delivered a class tree, and it's constantly ticking down because the game, at its core, is a tedious mess that actively punishes you for trying to do anything other than mindlessly grind random missions.
i wish they'd do some hive city spookums like Solomon or Fornax Aleph at least for Halloween
Also let us shoot up an aquaponics block that could be fun
or some kinda factory where they grow sausages
Considering how one of the ruling houses may have kind of financed the cult to undermine their rival and made a little whoopsie letting them cause a chaos uprising shooting some Nobles seems in order.
>cathedral level >noble palace >water refinement area >stupidly decadent upper hive garden/forest >deep underhive >guard compound >orbital station >mfw we'll maybe get two of these before they announce a sequel
I've been playing it for the first time these past couple of weeks and enjoyed it. I get that people are mad at the devs for a lot of bullshit they do, but I used to play Tarkov so I guess I can endure more crap and abuse than most other players lol.
If you have some self righteous post saved up just get it out of your system, rather than being a passive aggressive woman trying to fish for a perfect set up.
How do you have a plot in a game with randomized mission selection?
You can't lock the missions because then someone can be stuck on a dead mission screen until they've cleared the prerequisites.
Because maps were originally supposed to be completely randomized but that got scrapped when they had to cobble together something for the launch that Fatshark clearly wasn't ready for.
The plot as it is now is just... go do missions to prove your not the heretic on the ship while the other more important people do the actual investigating. Come back every 15 levels
Given that it's 40k I really wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that this is how evil space magic corrupts items, armors and environment on it's own
making them custom characters without set personalities ruined the game for me honestly
the Ubersreik five were so soulful in their interactions and the random convicts just can't compare in any way
the gameplay is improved but the soul of the game was ripped out
With a hive city/world consisting of several BILLIONS of people and all the operatives that have been "conscripted"/played/been playing, do you guys think we're even close to cleansing the nurgle rot infestation??
Breh why don't they just exterminatus/nuke the planet from orbit?
The Imperium doesn't look at operations and think "This needs to be done in a few years". They look at things in the hundreds of years. They think they can take the planet back and reclaim all the factories and such, which they deem to be important for other conflicts. Therefore, even if it takes hundreds of years, they will reclaim it. Nuking it would be destroying assets they deem valuable enough to try and rescue.
Now, if rescue is deemed simply not possible, then exterminatus is on the table.
Despite the way its depicted by some people, exterminatus really is the absolute last resort. You always avoid it unless the situation is absolutely hopeless and the strategic ramifications of loss of the world to the enemy is too high to risk.
>Breh why don't they just exterminatus/nuke the planet from orbit?
the planet is a vital tank manufacturing world that is propping up nearby conflict zones, also its a hive city, hive cities in some cases are so ancient as to predate the age of imperium meaning well over 10k years old, and some may have ancient archeotech that the imperium cannot replicate if it is lost in an exterminatus action. You only exterminatus if you have absolutely no other choices and not exterminatusing would be worse than letting the issue fester and threaten the whole sub sector or even sector or beyond
unless you are Kryptman since he is an ass
You answered your own question. While Atoma still has billions of human lives to throw against the heretics, there is still hope. They also mention in game how important important the steel on Atoma is to weapons manufacturing and the factories there supply half the subsector.
Needs more colorful areas. Yes I saw the carnival. They've really hamstrung themselves with the setting. Hopefully they find a way to get some variety in the environments.
When are we getting assassination missions other than "random dude with a plasgun"
Surely they can come up with other types of boss battles for this kind of game
Too easy if you're not retarded
Too many retards
Too dark
Talent trees are shit and filled with pointless garbage like minor health increases or 5% reload speed
It's fun but it's pretty bad compared to current V2. It's definitely better than launch V2, though.
>Characters have no soul, unironically. They need to have easily 10x the dialogue to come close to the vermintide cast. Whoever thought having create a character was a good choice should hang themselves >ranged combat is shit, especially with the ass sway that happens whenever any character shoot a bullet within 1km of you >maps are still shit and there isn't enough of them
let me know when the three of these are actually resolved and I'll reinstall
>main draw of DT over VT2 is the gun play >developers deliberately went out of their way to shaft guns whenever possible, and continue nerfing the absolute fuck out of any gun that becomes even marginally good
they chose the most boring setting for 40k (which already struggles with anything that is not >AND THEN DEMON PRIMARCH ANGRON SHAT OUT 100 MILLION BERSERKERS OUT OF HIS DEMONIC WARP FUELLED BUTTHOLE WHICH WERE DEFEATED BY SINGLE A SQUAD OF ULTRAMRINES >also somehow entire sector worth of iperial guardsmen just died for no reason
ROGUE TRADER WITH AYYLIENS AND MAN OF IRON LARPING AS CASTELLAN YOU DUMB FUCKS
>Make a chat bot based off mommy Hadron >Be her naughty little varlet.
In the future are they going to use AI voice synth to make lines for new characters? With as many voice actors required to voice all the different classes and characters so far, it seems like you may have trouble filling out those roles when you add additional classes and characters.
>new map has near constant waves at the start, especially on Auric >every group I've had so far is at least half comprised of abject pussies that try to run away and bunker down
You can feel the collective IQ of the game drop
Not after how hard they shit the bed with the Vet talents lmao
I must admit I do really like Darktide now, a couple key things need reworked and there still needs to be more content, but it'll get there. Vermintide is great, but I'm definitely done with it and will be playing Darktide for the foreseeable future. Still not removing my negative review until crafting is fixed though.
I don't know why but the game just looks like it's smeared with butter. Vermintide looks as crisp as it can be but Darktide has vaseline all over the player cam.
It's hard for people to get over a terrible launch, even if the game is much better now. Even NMS still gets hate for its launch despite even having surpassed the version that was promised originally.
it's crazy how this most obvious of diversion tactics, not responding to any of the critisism in the thread and instead attacking your strawman of "people who dislike this dislike things that are good", isn't an instant ban
also the two retards who replied to you, or hopefully just you samefagging, should kill themselves
does it have a cute elf character
uh oh
btw op even /coopg/ who almost exclusively plays DT agrees that RC2 is the better game, they just have already played it to death
what's rc2?
Rat click 2
Still needs more content and NO, going through a level backwards doesn't count, fatshark. You lazy cunts. Also Tyranids never ever.
>trannoids
do 40k naggers really
Yes actually, and if you say anything mildly out of alignment with leftist opinions on trans people or issues you will get banned from the Darktide discord instantly
false because it costs money and i got rotund slayer 2 for free

There is absolutely no way that the PCs could fight through a level's worth of nids, orks or deldar. Genestealers maybe.
And there's no way the characters in vermintide could have killed a champion of nurgle on their own, but they did and nobody cares.
>And there's no way the characters in vermintide could have killed a champion of nurgle on their own
Fairly sure Kruber is annoinated by the gods or something
Wizards are fucking strong dude and Kruber is a beast
>nids

>Hey guys we made a whole new area!
>Its just Throneside
>But sprinkle in some of the vendor trailers from The Torrent
>It just looks exactly like literally every single other map in the game besides the """desert""" one
This game is ultimate proof that liking 40k should be considered a mental deficiency.
yeah but the music slaps
This game is barely a proper 40k game.
>Playable characters are literal gutter trash rejects of Guard units
>Enmies are Cultists and Renegades, something that isn't even a proper faction, with all of the Elites being just random shmucks with wargear changes, except the Plaghe Ogryen, Chaos Spawn, and Beast of Nurgle.
>Story makes zero sense within the setting. If a Cult reaches the point where Beasts of Nurgle and Daemonhosts are popping up every other mission then it's not time to be sending in random reject cannon fodder, it's time to be calling in the bigger guns
>Location is just a bumfuck random hive city, one of the most boring places you can do in 40k.
Its ironic how Deathwing managed to have more environmental diversity than Darktide does.
>full opportunity to go Inquisitorial Kill Team
>Fatshark chooses penal legion to shoehorn players "into the setting" and drop them into a "community hub" where they can watch other players shuffle around like packaging bots trying to find the last batch of lettuce in a warehouse
Are they incompetent or just seriously out of touch or both
They're just incompetent.
No, but the rest is pretty much spot on.
The factions are literally separated into "Imperium" and "Xenos (Everything else)"
To be fair, the Imperium controls the majority of the settled galaxy. Everyone else really are just minor factions compared to them.
It's weird that people pretend that GW is handsoff
Emperor protects!!
single crazy man with a 2 handed chainsaw sword in a frothing at the mouth psychotic rage>trained squads of renegade military troops with proper training weapons and tactics
simple as
Considering Dan Abnett helped write the lore for the games setting this tracks
Hey man, The Lost and the Damned would make money if GW would ever give them some fucking stuff.
>GW would ever give them some fucking stuff.
which is basically this game.
Erm
My vet can solo a primarch.
my vet can solo ur mum lol
Mine can't solo urs, because a great unclean one is just too much
ur mum is infinity plus 1 great unclean ones lmao
and smells so bad even nurgle had to buy a can of febreeze
i kneel
>Great Clean One
>then it's not time to be sending in random reject cannon fodder
It's all they have
It should have been a bunch of Ork Freebootaz or Blood axes taking mercenary work.
What a blessing that turned out to be though
how?
Now that Age of Sigmar also did poorly they're trying to revive old fantasy splitting the already small community again.
just wait until they retcon the end times
Because it meant that we had great adaptations of the setting as it was.
Can you imagine if it wasn't dead during the Floyd years? There'd be naggers in the Reikland.
At least there's a chance that, as a prequel, they won't pozz it
>shooterslop
I usually end up taking 0 ammo pick ups if we have a veteran with scavenger and do just fine as both zealot and ogryn.
Guns can be very strong but only if your team cares enough to cover you instead of all 3 piling on a door spamming left click and I only play with randoms
The gearing in Darktide seems abhorrent to me, which helps push me back to Vermintide every time I think about giving it another shot.
The gearing is actually great once you realise that you don't need anything but white weapons
I play a lot of Darktide but come on now. The squad banter in VT is better, and VT's maps/bosses provide more variety.
The core gameplay of Darktide is better but the game needs more content because it gets repetitive too soon.
Buyers remorse, how sad.
>friends play this
>I ask why not just play rat game, dwarf game or zombie game instead because they are better games
>...
>OMG ANON YOU JUST HATE VIDEO GAMES OH GOD JUST LIKE GO AWAY OK
You or your friends never said any of this, did they?
>playing a game with the bros
>that weird guy I added once on a server chats
>"WOW NICE GAME THERE, WHY AREN'T YOU PLAYING VERMINTIDE OR L4D OR PAYDAY OR ROR HUH?????"
>um ok bro, we're just playing this cause it's fun and I like the 40k universe
>"GAME SUXXXXXX PLAY BETTER GAME"
>...
>*blocked*
No not like that. I don't mean "akshully these are objective better games", I mean we used to play those games a lot and had lots of fun. But then instead of doing what we like they go and do the new thing without even really liking it and complain how tired they are of new games...
you use Ganker, so assuming you hate videogames is a reasonable assumption
>darktide
>objectively better than Vermintide
what did they change I have like 500 hours in Vermintide but Darktide did not click at all.
the only good thing darktide has over vermintide is "better" movement and more cosmetics in the tore
darktide has
less maps
less classes
less enemies
less gamemodes
I think at its core VT2 will always be better due to the gameplay, enemies and pace of combat is designed for 90% melee and 10% range while Darktide is closer to 50/50 and depending on the class sways the other.
>while Darktide is closer to 50/50
Try a shock troop gauntlet modifyer and see that 50 turn into 90% shooting.
>he’s not a zealot Chad
95/5% melee high intensity shock gauntlet
Zealot with the deadliest firearm in the 40K universe: an auto pistol wielded by a guy who just screamed and ran a few steps
Any word on letting PCfags disable crossplay? I'm keeping the game uninstalled until this gets fixed.
What they should do is fix gamepad aiming because it's really not great
Perhaps, but won't fix my gripes as the console players are absolutely and very consistently horrible in many ways--far beyond anything aiming related. I am generally a pretty patient person in games, but they really broke the fucking limit. I'd reinstall if they let PCfags disable crossplay (keep in mind, consolefags have been always able to opt-out), or if consolefags are a rare sight. They infest auric and maelstroms so much it's insane.
Since when? I uninstalled ~2 weeks back and we couldn't then. Or is this a mod? News to me.
A good player can carry. The really bad xbots are gone anyways. Saltiness tends to be a sign of a poor player tbh
Im tired of games about americans
I love this game. I just wish females could look better
?si=KWxkS3CFEKBvwupf
So pysker is the most broken class right? I got 900 kills in one game using assail/surge combo. It's insane
As someone who played Darktide on release...
Where content?
In the snow. Please understand. Our first time ever making a video game!
It all went to the Verminchads who got seven (7) new maps and a new class before Darkvirgins got anything at all lol
those were delayed for two years while they worked on darktide bozo
cope
There was literally an update with more content TODAY
The content they're adding is just an attempt to make the game what it should been at launch. It's like releasing half game as full game and then telling that everything they add is just extra content lmao.
Welcome to games as a service
Game was incomplete as fuck on lauch but the few new maps, weapons and talent update fleshed it out a lot.
What we really need now is new weapons, more variants, balance tweaks and a crafting revamp
>it's just how it is pls buy the game
How about you start having some sense of self control and stop funding trash.
Nah. I'll buy it in a couple of years when it's 5 bucks or something.
>Less maps
>Fewer classes
>No playable heroes
>Game is still targetting DLSS
>RAAA RAAA RAAAAGGHHH spam all the fucking time
>hitscan enemies
>obtain weapon
>it has a godlike blessing
>you don’t like that weapon so you just extract the blessing to put in on your favorite weapon
>favorite weapon cannot support the blessing
Fuck you Fatshark, bunch of anti-fun lovers
Another fantastic idea of "player retention" where they hire psychologists to give them such israeli tricks! Quantity, not quality.
>read "content" patch notes
>sweet fuck-all
lol sharttiders really do get drip-fed
No crafting update, no care
>bitches about crafting
>furry
checks out
Soulless garbage with cardboard cutouts instead of actual characters. Ratclick mogs it straight into Bolivia.
im still gonna play ratclick instead
I doubt that. But even if that was true, I have zero interest in Darktide because i lacks the colorful characters and great level aesthetics that attracted me to VT and it's also too much of a pain to start another grindy 4Deadlike.
Plus, VT2 has issues to this fucking day. No way Darktide is completely fixed
These veteran keystones suck shit AND the tree is way too fucking long, I unironically preferred the unfinished one.
Did they show the keystones extra nodes yet?
Baseline keystones aren't that good on a lot of classes
The patch is out breh.
Spoiler alert: they suck.
Game still plays the exact same, who gives a fuck if you have to go through a checklist of
>+5% shinguard armour if you are next to exactly 7 elites
Still extremely samey maps with no unique mechanics.
>worse presentation
>worse hub
>Cant solo
>Everythings just dark
>Shit level themes (bro, giant empty metal structures)
>Volumetric fog smearing any and all actual nice models and graffix
>2 maps in 12 months
>shit missions, shit level design
It's worse in almost every way.
>And that is why it has more players at all times compared to vermintide
VT2 had more concurrent players April-August.
Yes. HAD.
If V2 had cross play I guarantee it would have more players. But having a playerbase split into 3rds is outdated and archaic these days. The game is 5+ years old. It's a shame we'll never have cross play.
fuck right off. console children don't belong in the same servers with PC gamers
>cross-platform
fuck no it's pretty obvious from Darktide that anyone not playing from Steam are REALLY bad console players.
Just having to imagine consoletards in my Cata+ lobbies is giving me nightmares.
lol, ppl don't turn around even with mice, it would be fun with console bounty hunters missing all the ults and getting javelin raped but without ocassional long distance blightstormers kills
SPACE MARINES
BATTUL BRUTHAS
YOU HAVE CAPTAIN DIOMEDES
>capeshit stan
>will eat up literal dogshit as long as it's "muh 40k"
You NPC golems can be hilarious at times lel
wtf did they do to veteran
>better than Vermintide
Impossibru
>look up kerillian on r34
>literally nothing but rat rape porn
because thats what she deserves
Its canon
What did you expect?
damn that's a nice ass
why isnt there a skin like this
we could even have unique voice lines for saltzpyre calling kerillian a temptress whore if an elf wears it in his lobby
built for skaven rockets
Do you know what a female skaven looks like anon? I don't blame them
im enjoying this game, just got my vet to lvl 30, and going to grind my zealot to lvl 30. can anyone explain the 40k lore to me? who the fuck is "the emperor, and who are these "heretics" who do they worship?
No
Emperor = Jesus
Heretics = Non-Jesus believers
The Emperor is the God of Mankind and its salvation
the heretics have different religious beliefs and therefore have to die
The melee combat is still boring as fuck in darktide because your solution to every situation is just spam heavy attacks. The item grind is also fucking terrible and the setting creates a very boring cast of playable characters. Darktide will never be better than vermintide unless they change up various core elements of the current game.
>no maps
>shop system is terrible
>upgrade system is terrible
>can't start your own lobbies, have to wait for a specific mission with specific modifiers to be on the board
It's still not implemented, it will be only in the upcoming maintenance update.
>a full year of rock aids
>the toggle that would be most valuable to those that bailed because they were sick of it is gated behind playing more of it
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
>WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
Embracer groups dumbfuckery maybe or the devs have the 'tism
VT2 still has a healthy playerbase and the necro update brought a lot of people back in. The steam numbers for VT2 and DT are pretty close despite VT2 being an ancient game at this point.
Crossplay is a net negative. Vermintide has proven that the player base still remains massive on pc if it's a good game.
HEY FATSHARK, WHERE'S VERSUS MODE FOR VERMINTIDE 2?
Ratfags you sincerely do not want crossplay. It has raped (and continues to do so) Darktide. Anyone suggesting or saying otherwise is a well-poisoner.
A full year later and the game is still disappointing boring bullshit
im so glad i grew out of paypigging for warhammer slop
FUCK U SHOPCLICKER
YOU STILL DONT HAVE KERILLIAN YOUR GAME WILL NEVER BE BETTER EVER FUCK YOU AGAIN YOU DUMB BITCH
It feels way better mechanically. The variety of content is much worse. The characterization is non existent
Given what enormous clusterfucks hive cities are, you could justifiably have a chaos wastes like mode just by having the characters proceed through an uncharted part.
You could also add anything short of a jungle in it too, given some of the shit that goes on
You could add a jungle in some kind of greenhouse situation, but Atoma in particular has water access issues so it would be an upper hive thing.
i know some banter ive heard recently says the nobles are getting uppity, maybe well get to shoot up the nobles mansions and pools and the nobles themselves
I can't stand about 70%+ of the voices in this game
dont get me started on zealots/psykers who just cannot keep their mouths shut
i wish they'd do some hive city spookums like Solomon or Fornax Aleph at least for Halloween
Also let us shoot up an aquaponics block that could be fun
or some kinda factory where they grow sausages
Considering how one of the ruling houses may have kind of financed the cult to undermine their rival and made a little whoopsie letting them cause a chaos uprising shooting some Nobles seems in order.
sounds good, purge the nobles and some administratum scribe flicks a pen and some new asshole gets the job/jobs
no loss there
>cathedral level
>noble palace
>water refinement area
>stupidly decadent upper hive garden/forest
>deep underhive
>guard compound
>orbital station
>mfw we'll maybe get two of these before they announce a sequel
it always was. vermintide fans are fat autistic losers.
>zealots relic now staggers bosses every other pulse
i still prefer when it was every pulse but i can work with this
I've been playing it for the first time these past couple of weeks and enjoyed it. I get that people are mad at the devs for a lot of bullshit they do, but I used to play Tarkov so I guess I can endure more crap and abuse than most other players lol.
>40k universe
>Space Marines, Terminators and titans are the most popular aspect of the universe
>Cant play as any of those things.
Dogshit/10
spess mahreen fags are mentally ill
Reading this thread really shows that Ganker has no idea what it's talking about. You all write like children.
If you have some self righteous post saved up just get it out of your system, rather than being a passive aggressive woman trying to fish for a perfect set up.
>t.naggerhomosexual
>fatshark actually putting the plot into the game one year after release
what did they mean by this?
Setting up for Darktide Season 1
New maps only accessible for premium season pass users
Story written* by Dan Abnett
*We had a 15 minute zoom call or something idk, forgot to take notes lol
How do you have a plot in a game with randomized mission selection?
You can't lock the missions because then someone can be stuck on a dead mission screen until they've cleared the prerequisites.
I still don't understand why they went this route, who asked for randomised missions?
Because maps were originally supposed to be completely randomized but that got scrapped when they had to cobble together something for the launch that Fatshark clearly wasn't ready for.
The plot as it is now is just... go do missions to prove your not the heretic on the ship while the other more important people do the actual investigating. Come back every 15 levels
add him fatshark
let me play as him fatshark
do it
do it now
>It's a Cain and Amberly bully retarded mechanicus designs episode
What is going on at games workshop? Who approves this shit?
PEOPLE OF TERTIUM, WE ARE THE MOEBIAN VI! WE ARE YOUR SONS, WE ARE YOUR DAUGHTERS! WE HAVE COME HOME! CAST OFF THE FALSEHOODS OF THE IMPERIUM!
The fact that they only just added the intro to the villain really does go to prove the game was released raw.
>gonna fight twins
interdasting
It's just chaos induced balding, please understand
but wait marines are prone to marine pattern baldness................
Did they really take time to put all those spikes on their armor?
nurgle thinks it looks cool
It really pisses off the emperor you should see his face when you put spikes on his stuff it's priceless
Breh why don't they just exterminatus/nuke the planet from orbit?
>beatable heretic insurgency in a tank producing world
>naah bruv nuke the whole planet
you're not very good at this
The Imperium doesn't look at operations and think "This needs to be done in a few years".
You always avoid it unless the situation is absolutely hopeless and the strategic ramifications of loss of the world to the enemy is too high to risk.
>why don't they just exterminatus
You don't waste resources like this, Administratum will come after your ass if your dare to even suggest it.
Even two of the missions is about restoring arms production.
objectively wrong: it doesn't have Saltzpyre
Needs more colorful areas. Yes I saw the carnival. They've really hamstrung themselves with the setting. Hopefully they find a way to get some variety in the environments.
If you want colorful areas, this is not the game for you. If anything the game is TOO colorful for the setting.
Plenty of colourful shit in 40k, particularly in the upper areas of hives where the nobility live.
I hope we get to fight a genestealer psyker magus mommy boss when the genestealer cultists come around bros.
Ranged enemies are annoying as shit.
When are we getting assassination missions other than "random dude with a plasgun"
Surely they can come up with other types of boss battles for this kind of game
Vermintide is shit.
Too easy if you're not retarded
Too many retards
Too dark
Talent trees are shit and filled with pointless garbage like minor health increases or 5% reload speed
It's fun but it's pretty bad compared to current V2. It's definitely better than launch V2, though.
You should be able to turn off crossplay
>Characters have no soul, unironically. They need to have easily 10x the dialogue to come close to the vermintide cast. Whoever thought having create a character was a good choice should hang themselves
>ranged combat is shit, especially with the ass sway that happens whenever any character shoot a bullet within 1km of you
>maps are still shit and there isn't enough of them
let me know when the three of these are actually resolved and I'll reinstall
>main draw of DT over VT2 is the gun play
>developers deliberately went out of their way to shaft guns whenever possible, and continue nerfing the absolute fuck out of any gun that becomes even marginally good
They've made lasguns actually good though, before it was bolter or get fucked
they chose the most boring setting for 40k (which already struggles with anything that is not
>AND THEN DEMON PRIMARCH ANGRON SHAT OUT 100 MILLION BERSERKERS OUT OF HIS DEMONIC WARP FUELLED BUTTHOLE WHICH WERE DEFEATED BY SINGLE A SQUAD OF ULTRAMRINES
>also somehow entire sector worth of iperial guardsmen just died for no reason
ROGUE TRADER WITH AYYLIENS AND MAN OF IRON LARPING AS CASTELLAN YOU DUMB FUCKS
devfag here
currently busy working on dating game for the hub and figuring out ways to sneak it past Geedubs censors
pls look forward to it, its snowing in sweden :^)
>Make a chat bot based off mommy Hadron
>Be her naughty little varlet.
In the future are they going to use AI voice synth to make lines for new characters? With as many voice actors required to voice all the different classes and characters so far, it seems like you may have trouble filling out those roles when you add additional classes and characters.
Now that the new keystones for veteran got added, anyone got some updated vet lasgun builds?
anyone else get carpal tunnel from this game? The constant clicking did a number on my wrist
>new map has near constant waves at the start, especially on Auric
>every group I've had so far is at least half comprised of abject pussies that try to run away and bunker down
You can feel the collective IQ of the game drop
>psyker has a single viable build locked behind a lvl 4blessing
>muh meta
I wish metafags would perish.
When's the sale? Gotta be at least 50% to get my attention fatshark.
I play on xsx and the sound is fucked sometimes it sounds like its coming from someone's mic even tho im in the hub
It's legitmately a fun game now. why does Ganker hate fun so much?
It's hard for people to get over a terrible launch, even if the game is much better now. Even NMS still gets hate for its launch despite even having surpassed the version that was promised originally.
>why does Ganker hate fun so much?
because Ganker is full of naggers
it's crazy how this most obvious of diversion tactics, not responding to any of the critisism in the thread and instead attacking your strawman of "people who dislike this dislike things that are good", isn't an instant ban
also the two retards who replied to you, or hopefully just you samefagging, should kill themselves
what causes this kind of mental illness?
literally "stop liking what i dont like"
pretty much how the internet is anymore
"stop disliking what I like" isn't any better
its not better in EVERY way
btw roadmap when, fatshark connoisseur bros?
