it's a supposition based on the last few years releases
the only way intel competes with AMD is by rushing their silicon which results in chips with +5% performance but +30% power draw
also efficiency cores were a complete failure, most big companies don't want them in their laptops

If Intel had an entirely new architecture, they would drop 'Lake' series and completely refresh the numbering schemes.

Intel is stuck in a Pentium 4-like hell of their own creation. Just throwing more power draw at the CPU isn't sustainable.

The settings were less intuitive when I first got it. They released an Intel baseline profile settings BIOS like 2 months ago, and a couple of days ago one with performance and extreme presets, but the damage had been done for a while. I wasn't even sure what my problems were until maybe March.

                Anonymous

I'd say it's more a problem that I have to download a BIOS update and flash it, at all. When I select a motherboard with whatever socket and an applicable CPU, I expect that to be the end of any further effort on my part other than sticking them together.

Right, and ASUS (and other manufacturers) dropped the ball. Don't make the chip run blisteringly fast out of the box. Make it run well, then leave that to the end user.

Let me guess, the benchmarks were at 720p with the lowest settings possible on a 4090 since that's the only way you will ever see a significant difference between most CPUs' gaming performance.

But how good is it at 86box? Can I fully pimp it out and maintain stable 100% performance on these new CPUs?

Thanks, but I'll wait for user reviews.

zen 5 looks like fricking garbage tbh. the worst generational uplift since zen 1 -> zen +. they fricked up big time by cheaping out on lithography. should have been on 3nm. arrow lake will destroy it

    >MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock are all bad motherboards
    So, which one is good?

I have ASRock and Gigabyte motherboards. Both are fine. Gigabyte requires network drivers on windows install to get working so ASRock is smoother from the initial W11 install.
Gigabyte scored more in benchmarks than the ASRock in same system.

    >this cpu I don't own is better than this other cpu I don't own. I know this because the people who sell the cpu made a slide.
just like the AMD GPU slides which bullshitted everyone.
