should I grab a extra (or two) while they are still in local store stock as new just incase (or does the ds5 feel the same)? been using the DS4 for pc for the past decade and I don't really like third part controllers (also I kinda regret not getting a extra for my ps2/ps3 because the sticks on my ds2 is kinda giving up)

DS5 is a straight upgrade. this controller feels extremely alien imo.

i remember upgrading to a ds5 thinking it was heavy as frick but eventually got used to it and it feels normal, now i try going back to a DS4 and it feels like a baby's toy

The DS5 feels slightly fatter on the bottom of the grip but otherwise identical.

is the DS5 as well supported in Steam?

No. Valve has completely shat the bed on DS5 support in Steam Input in multiple patch revisions to the client over the past year. Ranging from your button mappings going loopy; to buttons and stick movements no longer registering; to them registering with a delay; to the entire controller no longer being recognized.

I’ve only every had the one that came with the PS4. You don’t need more than two or three, right? Don’t tell me you’ve destroyed any.

mine has a mild stick drift, though I haven't replaced it yet

Mine became borderline unusable, because you couldn't reliably turn left with the stick anymore. I should maybe get another one for safekeeping before they disappear.

      >DS5 is a straight upgrade.
Strongly disagree, it's too chunky and the ergonomics aren't as good as DS4. There's not enough of a dip between the triggers and handles to comfortably rest the knuckles of your middle fingers, and you're constantly at risk of going out over or touching the edge where the triggers press down. Similarly there's not enough space for the tips of your middle fingers to rest as they wrap around the handles, instead they have to press on the underside of the much bigger mid-section. The micro-texture on the handles also collects gunk very fast. Triggers are much better though, as is the premium feel of it in general.

you have tiny little boy hands, accept it.

optimal way to hold it btw is index fingers on R1/L1, middle fingers on R2/L2, with your fingers wrapping around the top

I've had horrible luck with PS4 controllers. I only play like once a week and I end up always having insane stick drift or a trigger stops working

I used to use a PS2 controller on PC and that drifted in like 8-9 years

As somebody who has worked for various tech companies over the years hardly anything you buy is new. What do you think happens when you return shit for a refund? They just "refurb" it and repackage it as new.

I bought a spare a few years ago. Maybe I'll buy a third one. There are literally no other controllers that are this good.
