Um, I don't know which part in particular you object to, but the thing that makes a game - a game, is the gameplay. Without it you'd either be watching a movie or reading a novel.
And the combat i.e. the fucking gameplay, is vastly improved in 4, whereas before it was barely playable.
You can be mad about this all you want, but the simple fact is Fallout 4 is objectively a better game than any other Fallout title.
The gameplay isn’t only the combat, what also what you do in between. Exploration is a part of the gameplay, so is settlement building and quests. And in literally everything except the combat and settlement building (which is also pretty meh) Fallout 4 is worse than the other fallouts.

But the gun mods, armors/outfitting and the gameplay mechanics are better in F4, it has the coolest BoS and the Glowing Sea is one of the best regions in all of the franchise.

It was very enjoyable slop till about level 20 ish or so by which time I started getting a little bored & by that time I was ready for Far Harbour which is one of the best things they've done. Well worth the £8 I spent on it.

There's more to all of these categories but it's been about a year since I played 4 and months since I last played FNV. I might go back to FNV now though, I've been considering a heavily modded playthrough for a while now since I mostly just play vanilla with a couple fixes and graphical improvements.

New Vegas mods are fairly limiting I tried a heavy modded playthrough and just couldn't bring myself to finish even a portion of what I added, overall not an enjoyable experience
The modding scene for 4 is light-years richer imo

mind you the F4 soundtrack is nowhere as bad as the F3 one

I usually use the Lost World pack and alter from there to my liking, comes with a shitton of gun replacers and animation enhancements it can be a little jank at times however
