    *double clicks*

      Anonymous

After my G703 started double-sixteen-infinity-clicking on both buttons at the same time, got a G502 X, seeing some good reviews and people saying it physically cannot doubleclick because optical switches or whatever. It already double clicks on the scroll wheel, and also the sensitivity you set in ghub takes a while to activate every time you don't touch the mouse for a while and then start using it again, is there any mouse that is actually reliable and also has multiple programmable buttons?

The frick do you people do to your mice
My g502 still works perfectly after 8 years of heavy usage including shooters

I one very similar to this one. It has been working for more than 6 years. G402. I also have a K120 keyboard, it's getting hard to type, I'm not sure if I'll go with another K120 or a mechanical this time.

Mine too, I've had it since 2016. Allegedly the older ones are better built than more recent ones and that's why they still work perfectly after so long. I think the very latest version uses optical switches so it should be fine as well.

My g6000s never last more than a year without some issue, double click, side buttons malfunctioning, ones without braided cords tear. I don't eat at my PC either, and I keep my room really cold so I'm not sweating on it. I just have to keep buying them because they're the only mouse that has that g-shift button and I've grown too accustomed to it for MMOs.

        >optical switches will never doubleclick
You people deserve to be scammed by israelites.

Do you think optical switches return without springs?
In any industry the reason "optical" or hall effect sensors are more reliable is because there's no mechanical elements in it, optical switches have the same spring they use in the normal switches.
What do you think makes mechanical switches doubleclick?

In any case you should know how to solder, when you do that every mouse will last you longer than the USB standard interface

Optical switches literally cannot double click because they can't debounce. You can't argue around that, it'd be like arguing a triangle has four sides.

The MOUSE can double click for a variety of reasons, but it won't be because of the switches

All the problems with logitech switches are from the fact that they use the exact same switches they were using 10 years ago but now run they out of specs (both under voltage and under amperage) because they refuse to change them and they are moronic. Also because it helps their bottom line with morons who keep buying their shit even if it breaks after 6 months.
Their scroll wheel is also extremely shit, it's both very flimsy and it accumulates gunk both on the wheel and the mechanism inside the mouse very easily.

replacing the click is easy as frick. buy a cheap sodering gun and quality buttons and just replace the clicker on it. stick the hot soldering end against the metal and let the solder melt off then pull it out and put a new one in, heat up the connectors then stick new solder on it and let the heat melt the solder onto the connections. thats it. dont try to hold the hot end on the solder to solder it on as it wont work and will just melt onto the soldering gun end itself

I had that mouse for over a decade as well. However, in late 2022 it began double clicking on the regular and I had to upgrade. I've been using the G502 for about 4 months now and it's nice, though I still miss the G500, as I found it more ergonomic. Things I don't like about G502, having come from the G500:
      >DPI up/down buttons feel more ambiguous
      >when using smooth scrolling, the plastic of the mouse makes a thud sound when your finger touches the button beneath it (which you will do when scrolling down)
      >if you wiggle the mouse when the computer is turned off (or maybe just asleep?) the lights on it turn on and won't turn off unless you unplug the mouse

Generally, I think the G500 is superior and feels more premium, but the the G502 isn't a terrible replacement.

You see the best part of free scroll wheel is that you can let it go and it keeps spinning sending fast inputs. I used that for bunnyhopping/semi auto weapons or in moronic games where you had to click 100000 times in minigames or QTEs.
Built in memory in mouse let's you just keep your settings even if you remove bloatware or plug it to another system.

Because it's a several year old model at this point and old products always get phased out eventually. I first had that thought when the wireless variant came out and I was afraid they would start phasing out the wired models. It obviously hasn't happened yet, but I just love this mouse so much that I don't know what I'm going to do when they stop making them

No it didn't. You don't and never have owned a viper v2.

my viper scroll wheel is borked too. Sometimes inputs the opposite direction, less than a year old

No Razer product has ever lasted a full year.

I bought one of those three months ago two replace my almost 20 year old MX518. Buttons are great but the scroll wheel is pretty janky.

my old MX518 legit refuses to die, still going strong and it makes me so proud
i'll be real fricking upset when it does eventually die though

I broke my old one years ago, got a 502, then 403 both of which had issues after a couple years, then bought the 518 refresh and have been using that for years now without any problems.

My scroll wheel lock started getting a little funny on the last day of my 3 year warranty
They sent me a whole new mouse, I still haven't opened that box 3 years later as this mouse still functions perfectly fine

If it wasn't for the double clicking I'd recommend this mouse to Everyone!

    >G502 X Plus
looks pretty neat. Considering it for my next mouse. I like a mouse with extra buttons that are ergonomically placed. Wireless is a bonus but not necessary.
    >Glorious Model I 2
Similar to the G502 in layout except the two top buttons. Had a good experience with an older Model O wireless, its pretty solid and replaced my ancient Sensei. Supposedly they're going to make a "Pro" model that doesn't have the holes and may have extra buttons as well.
    >Asus ROG Chakram
Like the idea of the little joystick and all the various overall functions, provided they can be configured on Linux without a lot of fricking around. Weren't they going to make an updated version of this or did they already?

I'll never buy Razer again after their horrid quality and shitty proprietary config required utilities, unless they change it.

There's some unique other mice if you're particularly based , it fits your use and you've got the wallet for it.

    >Ploopy dot co Trackballs, mice
Open source, 3d printable, well made custom stuff. Only downside is the trackballs are loud thanks to roller bearings but they're very accurate and durable. Mouse is well regarded.
    >Lunar Artefacts Pointer Instrument
Pretentious? Yes. However its also well made, able to customize the whole thing and pic related is an upgraded "pro grip" that can add additional buttons, and scroll wheels to it for example . The composite versions are cheaper but may not have all the features of the ones with the metal base and leather top, but most things are swappable.
    >Zaunkoenig M2S or M3K
Made out of carbon fiber, handmade by germans, exclusively for fingertip grip and weighs less than a gram. Old M2K is sold out and they're making 2 new models this year, the M2S update and the brand new M3K. Interesting to see how they develop. If you only need 2 buttons and a scroll wheel and want something ultra fricking light it is the best choice Iv'e seen

Its a modular add-on (in development, the cheaper accessory grip currently available has no buttons etc) for https://lunarartefacts.com/collections/pointer-instruments/products/pointer-instruments-lunar-shadow .

That's my mouse. Have had it for 7 years now. My only complaint is that the mouse wheel has gone to shit, if I scroll down it'll also scroll up and that can frick me in some games
