It's unfortunate that he was the first boss most people find because he's one of the least fun

I didn't get filtered by him. I got filtered by the butthole on the horse shortly after.

I got filtered at the beginning but some anon called my moronism out. I gave the game another chance and now it's one of my favorites.

really? that's the easiest one I think. I did him first try and then immediately did the remnant version (which is supposedly stronger?) because I thought you had to fight him again to upgrade your damage.

I probably had more deaths to the ogre, ape and demon than every other boss combined. I liked the game but those really didn't belong in it.

i thought the ape was a really fun addition but demon can frick right off

          >he attacks twice sometimes
          >he attacks three times sometimes
          >am bad at guessing how many times he's going to hit me
          >lower guard too early and get hit by a 3 hit combo
          >barely do any damage to him in return

I found the ogre guy at the beginning that filters everyone easier than this guy. I've tried it about 20 times and just quit.

Ape is fine once you realize you can deflect 95% of his attacks
Ogre, even though the fight is fine, is objectively bad game design because it conditions the player early on to play the game like a Souls game
and Demon is just pure trash but at least hes optional

You mean is the easiest FROM game to date and why so many people from Ganker suck it's dick

it's the only one where you can't level grind past all difficulty, have online twinks beat the game for you, build a tank and mindlessly button mash or pull out a bow and kill everything from across the map
it's also the only one where you don't have a magic dodge roll that beats every attack in the game

Ahh. So this is why sekiroshitters think it's hard. Because they overlevled, read guides and got carried by summons in all the other souls games.

If you play the soulsgames without deliberately making the game easier for yourself, then Sekiro is way easier.

I agree except for Isshin, Isshin is just a long ass driver's license exam and it takes a good amount of skill and patience to learn all his quirks and he's a steeper hill to climb than any Souls boss except for maybe Orphan of Kos
Overall though I agree with you
I actually think Sekiro's biggest mistake is giving a lot of the bosses a Pokemon style weakness (like Gyobu is weak to fire, Madam Butterfly is weak to shuriken, etc) because it really tricked a lot of bad players (which is most of them) into trying to find the shortcut to victory and then they end up cheesing their way all the way to Owl or Isshin and then run face first into that brick wall.
Where if you actually learn the fundamentals, every fight is just punch out - its not THAT hard.

              Anonymous

I honestly didn't think Isshin was any hard at all. Not demon either.
The only two bosses I had any problems with was Genichiro and Guardian ape. And only because they were so early in the game.
Once I got a hang of the way combat works, everything was a breeze.
And for my second playthough, guardian ape was the only one that still gave me some problems at all.
And I didn't really use any skills or items in any of the fights. I just parried and attacked. Only exception is that I would use the two handed overhead attack for big windows.

Meanwhile every single souls game has several bosses that shits on me, even after multiple playthroughs.

See, that's the cool thing about these games. I didn't find Genichiro particularly hard, Isshin was in the middle difficulty wise, but I struggled with Demon of Healthbars.
And others will have their own nemesis that's neither of these.

                Anonymous

The first half of the game almost broke me. It was so hard that I didn't think I would ever manage to beat the game.
First hurdle was the spear guy in the bush stealth section. He destroyed me so much that I ended up just giving up and going another way. Waited until I had gathered like 3 new damage upgrades before I returned.
Genichiro took me 2 hours to beat.
The purple ninja homosexual near the shrine destroyed me more than both of those combined. Didn't go back to kill him until way, way later.
Ogre was a joke, though. Literally just baited drop-kicks and then hit him.
Guardian ape took me about as long as Genichiro.

And that's it really. None of the other bosses after this point were any hard.

The spear guy got me so fricking good aswell, but it turns out it was all fromsofts fault for not explaining how the fricking mikiri counter ACTUALLY works, its dodge INTO enemy and that combined with newbie panic made it almost impossible to do

that purple ninja on the pagoda, the gun minibosses that have a weirdly long grab, and isshin were the bosses that gave me the most trouble.
everything else was simple compared to them.

            Anonymous

if your only argument is "game hard to beat therefore good" then it's pretty crippling that i can grab any summon sign and a no life redditor will beat the boss for me while i grab lunch.

              Anonymous

But I have not made that argument at all.
Souls games being hard is not what makes them good. It's part of it, as a lot of the joy I get out of most games, is overcoming a challenge.
But neither I nor anyone else says that they are good because of the difficulty.

Same with Sekiro. The reason why I think it's mediocre, is not because if the lack of difficulty (late game). But because the bosses are the only fun part of the game.
Everything else, from skill system, level design, enemy placement, stealth mechanic, death penalty and more, I find to be varied degrees of bad.

Blocking is a lot stronger in this game than one would think, especially on any dual weapon

It was okay, but not good, and certainly not the masterpiece Ganker makes it out to be.

There’s a few I can think of but I’ll say Blasphemous 2, because (base game) 1 vs 2 is literally the definition of soul vs soulless. B1 also became soulless after they updated it again and again until it hardly had the same feel it did in the beginning
