easy mode: grind the bugs in the desert dungeon quest by pulling as many as you possibly can handle and you will destroy every encounter after that, even the final boss. keep in mind that by "as many as you possibly can handle" i mean "a fuck ton"
hard mode:
pick your fights and only fight strong opponents, don't mess with overworld trash unless you plan on pulling big groups since the harder the fight the better it is for you and your BR.
if you fight small groups and weak monsters you will fuck yourself over to the point where the final boss will be almost impossible
have dedicated caster groups and melee groups, don't mix fighters with casters
didn't filter me at all i fucking loved this game and the endless hours spent on the wiki reading how shit actually worked
br isn't even a real concern playing blind, you'd have to be some kind of fucking giga clown who keeps exiting and entering areas to repeatedly grind for hours in order to actually fuck up your br in the way people say. the reality is it barely impacts anything if you just play normally
grinding 500 bugs is also fun though, nice dopamine from the giga stat ups. only thing is doing this cucks you into using that party forever because the seven and later characters simply won't be able to catch up to them
The game heavily puinishes you for grinding mindlessly. Fighting battles doesn't always make you stronger but it will always make enemies stronger by increasing your battle rank.
Some sections of the game can softlock you if your battle rank is too high in contrast to your own army strength.
This is the 360 version in particual. The PC version the battle rank bullshit was toned down while giving you unlimited leader deployment slots.
Churn ‘em fuckyn crepe an eaten up by the lbs
Maggots so nutritious maggot makes a pussy so delicious
I’m glad to see it in ‘em boys too but the rooster looks was enough to drain them hens house and get rid of germs from the soup plantation locked up and buried wit em keys in sweet potatoes pie hole grains claps of bread hit me wit em greens and I’ll dump em in Dey sacks eye eye ok ok
"Grind" if you have to by having 1 hard fight with every enemy rather than 5 easy fights 1 at a time
And spend your money on upgrades when available. More units, better equipment = always worth it even if it's a small increase because every increase is a battle not had
Battletoads is the only game that did this to me. Unless we are counting games that were too boring to continue. In that case, add FF 12 and SaGa scarlet grace to the list.
Think I made it halfway through and got assblasted by a bunch of units led by some lady and a huge guy. I probably won't go back to play it, but I did like how punishing it was when most jrpgs are rather easy.
i have never been violated by a game as much as by the last remnant when i went in blind when it released
is this what being raped feels like?
then i learned how to play it and it became one of my favorite games
is this also what rape victims feel like after the raping?
I got to a room with two giant birds and got raped to death. That's when I gave up.
People were telling me not to grind and I had grinded for hours before that lol
You ever get the feeling like some stuff just spawns out of nowhere? Because I’ve never heard of this game either and I refuse to believe I just didn’t hear about it back in the day like I’m convinced this shit didn’t exist until recently and people are gaslighting.
Yes and now watch, you'll start noticing it every now and then. I forgot what this effect is called (yes it's a known thing like the mandela effect and it has a name) but it really does make you feel like you live in a simulation and stuff appears out of nowhere
There were only so many 360 JRPGs so it was well known within the JRPG community at the time. You don't hear about it anymore because the game wasn't really amazing and it's still xbox exclusive.
I thought it was the same charm FF12 did but I had to play that game with a giant fucking walktrhough a friend printed for me. lol
I didn't feel like doing that with this game so I went for Blue Dragon which was easier to play.
Shadow of the Colossus filtered me the first time I played it. I never figured out that you could grab stuff with R1, so I just rode around on my horse and explored whatever I could jump to, and tried to shine my sword at stuff to open a door or something. Thought it was pretty, but boring. Luckily, I'd only rented it.
Wasn't until years later when I saw Shadow of the Colossus on Ganker that I realized how much more there was. Went and played it again, now it's one of my favorite games.
>Wasn't until years later when I saw Shadow of the Colossus on Ganker
Based anon trying out the games that Ganker absolutely despises. They always end up being amazing
The general consensus now is that it's 'cinematic garbage' and 'pretentious'. I've realised that current day Ganker absolutely hates anything that came out before gen 7, especially if it's from Japan. Every time SotC is brought up 90% of the board shits on it and most of the threads about it are just OP bashing it. And if it was made by Nintendo instead of Team Ico it would probably be the most hated game on this board
That happens to games where the general consensus is actually that it's good, but it's been talked about to death and the only thing that generates conversation is shitting on it.

I never cared for it because yes I thought it was just a walking simulator
t. played it on PS2 back in the day
Yeah, I like it a lot. I think the story was decent and I enjoyed its conbat. (I got Switch code for free, and bought other 2)
I am probably gonna do another run at the end of the year.
Final Fantasy 12 i just don’t get how to play well. I got all the way to bahamut point of no return and dropped it because i wanted to do the side content before completing and just kept getting wrecked by some hunts. I don’t know I just never got the satisfying feeling any point during my play through that my party was doing what it was meant to. Just felt like brute force the whole way.
>Most of the game is puzzle solving >Eventually turns into rapid fire Simon says >Even the game makes it aware to the player that these sections are difficult
I wanted to like this game, too. Surreal in a way that's actually surreal.
I also got filtered by this game
The starting character is the only one I've ever gotten to the Wall with and I've never made is past there
Watching my Megaman Battle Neteork obsessed friend blast through the whole game made me feel like an idiot
something something dont grind
something something you ackshually can grind
something something dont grind too much bro
i could never beat the white conqueror

mickey mouse racing on the gbc
is this the game with the complicated battle system?
The game heavily puinishes you for grinding mindlessly. Fighting battles doesn't always make you stronger but it will always make enemies stronger by increasing your battle rank.

High # of battles = bad
High # of kills = good

I cheesed that fight spamming David's Gay Bulge. The AOE explosion annihilates the trash mobs so you can just focus on the bosses.
Ni No Kuni 1
Most boring game of my fucking life, stopped playing after the fairy island section
i have never been violated by a game as much as by the last remnant when i went in blind when it released
is this what being raped feels like?
then i learned how to play it and it became one of my favorite games

>is this also what rape victims feel like after the raping?
Only after the second raping.
so by raping one person twice i derapeify them and am actually doing them a favor?
the things you learn
Last Remnant is not that hard wtf are talking about
also sequel when
I got to a room with two giant birds and got raped to death. That's when I gave up.
People were telling me not to grind and I had grinded for hours before that lol
This shit is embarrassing to play even alone, i still haven't finished and i paid the full price back in the day.
I consider myself a semi-knowledgeable person when it comes to Japanese video games and I shit you not I've never even heard of the game you posted
You ever get the feeling like some stuff just spawns out of nowhere? Because I’ve never heard of this game either and I refuse to believe I just didn’t hear about it back in the day like I’m convinced this shit didn’t exist until recently and people are gaslighting.

You're most likely thinking of the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon.
Then you're probably an underage fag. It was reasonably hyped at the time. Shit game thoughbeit.
don't look like a shit game
If it's the game I think it is, it's like a JRPG^2. It's uncomfortably anime
I like anime
Well then give it a shot
No
ok

Thx to this my GS is ruined.

Does Ganker hate SotC? Why? Just to be contrarian because it's considered one of the best games ever made, or what?
The general consensus now is that it's 'cinematic garbage' and 'pretentious'. I've realised that current day Ganker absolutely hates anything that came out before gen 7, especially if it's from Japan. Every time SotC is brought up 90% of the board shits on it and most of the threads about it are just OP bashing it. PS2 is retro these days, so I bet at least 60% of Ganker has never even played SotC
>PS2
>Retro
🙁
That happens to games where the general consensus is actually that it's good, but it's been talked about to death and the only thing that generates conversation is shitting on it.
I never cared for it because yes I thought it was just a walking simulator
t. played it on PS2 back in the day
Walking simulator gameplay doesn't center around fighting giant creatures
You've got it completely ass backwards but you already knew that, you disingenuous tendie
SOTC is always ranked high on Ganker polls though
MGS1, stealth is gay and stupid and i dont like it
X360 version is the hardest.
t. played X360, Switch, and PS4 versions (platinum trophy)
I was filtered by Natural Doctrine.
>t. played X360, Switch, and PS4 versions
Do you really like the game that much? Why? Is it the aesthetic?
Yeah, I like it a lot. I think the story was decent and I enjoyed its conbat. (I got Switch code for free, and bought other 2)
I am probably gonna do another run at the end of the year.
Yeah this game stomped on my balls. Did they make the game like this just to sell strategy guides or something?
This game. One day I will come back to it.
(80808 checked)
Yeah, you need some real fuckin ZEN to get through that game, unless you use a guide or something. It's a fantastic game though
Final Fantasy 12 i just don’t get how to play well. the game
Baba is you made me feel like I had sub 60 IQ. I should comeback to it someday.
Baldur's Gate 1
I think I missed an area in divinity original sin because i was way behind in xp. I never finished it.
This entire game hardfiltered me.
I've heard this game has a dungeon that rivals Wizardry IV in terms of bullshit. Is this true?
Idk I couldn't make it past the first area. The map being a limited resource filtered me.
>Most of the game is puzzle solving
>Eventually turns into rapid fire Simon says
>Even the game makes it aware to the player that these sections are difficult
I wanted to like this game, too. Surreal in a way that's actually surreal.
get gud
I'm not good at gaming but I usually finish the games I like. This looked cool but ended up filtering me.
I also got filtered by this game
The starting character is the only one I've ever gotten to the Wall with and I've never made is past there
Watching my Megaman Battle Neteork obsessed friend blast through the whole game made me feel like an idiot
gameplay was amazing everything else even the dated graphics were absolutely horrific
