ITT: Games that have to be experienced to understand how good they truly are

Every spin, line clear, movement and such alters the music, adds a beat to the already amazing OST and adds visual effects to the game, and in VR/With a good headset it's like having your own little cinema.

Honestly my favorite version of Tetris. Yes, even over Grand Master 3: Terror-Instinct.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this game until I saw that the moves you make sync up with the music like Lumines. I loved Lumines so this works great for me.

Funnily enough, The guy behind Lumines was also the one who did Rez and Tetris Effect!

It's very good in VR, I'm not even much of a tetris person.
I really ought to finish it, I've done about two thirds of it.

The credits are oddly emotional, especially after fighting through the finale

The final level in a fucking tetris game should NOT hit this goddamn hard

This shit LITERALLY sounds sampled from peoples generic YouTube videos.

I played this online and battled people for months. this shit sounds fucking stupid in a Tetris game. There shouldn’t be boring radio friendly vocals in a Tetris game. What the fuck?

And on that note, the boss battle feature is also tedious to replay because it’s also always the same music. And some of those tracks also get annoying.

No. The music is the weakest link of this game and drags it down a lot. (If there’s a mod that lets you replace it somehow with other music that’s more fitting I would play it again) It has maybe 5 tracks I enjoy listening to. If it’s a level with a song I don’t like, I end up not wanting to play the level which limits replay ability. And makes repeating a level you’re struggling with annoying if you have to listen to the same song over and over. Too much of the music is too close to modern zoomer music trends.

Yeah I’ve played rez and lumines so I get the appeal. I’ve played audio surf annd meteos also. These guys are lazy pieces of shit for making a game with this system and not releasing more music to swap out in levels or new level packs.

Yeah I am mad, there isn’t any excuse for them to fuck it up so bad. It’s a fast paced puzzle game with flashing lights. They should have used Drum n bass, acid techno, deep house, to fill out some of the sound track to match the speed the game plays at. they made a bunch of music that corporate said “this will probably do well with most normies in the under 35 bracket with some extra emphasis on appealing to zoomer normies. It’s mostly shitty soulless music. Simple as. Worst of all it’s bland.

"The researchers gave the phenomenon a name...."

A bunch of games Mizuguch worked on have that aspect to it, the gameplay-lead music is part of why Rez is so incredible.

Just get it when there’s a promotion, I played it for free with gamepass and got tired of it after I beat it.(glad they got 0 dollars from me) It could have been a good game but they basically abandoned it and it doesn’t have much content in the first place.

1440 + headphones was enough to "get" it IMO but pretty much every Mizuguchi/Enhance game is ideally played in VR.

People aren't going to like this, but Counter-Strike. There is absolutely nothing close in gaming to the feeling you get when you have four other people who you are coordinated with going to an event hours away to play against other competitive people in. It's the absolute peak of gaming.
    >comp shit
Personally for me single player stuff isn't exciting. Well, it can be, but not hand tingling blood pumping adrenaline filled video game playing on LAN, while shit talking people IRL.
