this is literally SOVL
it's a reference to pokemon emerald which came out after the games this is a remake of. it's good world building and it makes the battle frontier in emerald feel less spontaneous and out of place
I could argue about the line, but the point is that the cutoff is before eight fricking years. I aging holding a grudge for that damn long, what a sad existence.
Were they truly elements of Crystal, or were they simply elements that became series staples? Sure, there's a female character, but that's expected now, and Lyra is completely different than Kris. For as many "Crystal elements" you can say they added, you can also cite elements that they didn't add from Crystal
The difference here is that HGSS is clearly a Crystal remake split into two titles, but expecting /vp/ to have actually played Crystal or have been alive when HGSS came out and were being discussed is too much to ask. For all you zooms larping as adults let me fill you in so you can parrot my same talking points when the same argument is sparked again in 2 days: HGSS are obvious Crystal remakes to anyone who has played Gold/Silver and Crystal before. For how much /vp/ claims to love Johto, I’m convinced more and more each day that you people have only experienced it through the remakes.
>Masuda: “That is correct, under these new circumstances, it will be possible for players to bring their Pokémon into “Pokémon Home” and take them out into various titles. If you think about it from the perspective of the Pokémon (that aren’t coming over), it’s as if they’re saying “this region is cold, so I’ll stay back in Home!”. We are also thinking of preparing ways to play inside of Pokémon Home.”
I miss when games had a satisfying ending and you could just finish them. I hate the new trend of games as service being the standard. I hate that games have to end with a treadmill these days. I didn't mind this at all because I hate the zoomer trend of needing everything to string you along endlessly.
Firstly, the BF had an ending, getting all seven golden seals. Secondly, nobody liked playing it because it was a treadmill, we liked it because it added new, interesting and challenging situations for your Pokemon to battle in. Thirdly, Emerald is fricking almost twenty years old at this point. The people who liked the BF enough to b***h about it being removed for 8 years straight are almost surely all millennials.
You really think zoomers don't go back to play old games? Or that the extremely common meme sentiment of "I was born in the wrong decade" that values older things just skipped that generation? You're braindead.
Alright, I don't really care to argue the point, linking liking the Battle Frontier to being a zoomer who plays season-based games just stuck out as a nonsensical dismissal of the mode.
And as I said, it's not. This "I don't want to argue, I'm just right" move is pretty cringe. If you don't want to argue then don't, but don't try to get one swing in and then run.
>This "I don't want to argue, I'm just right" move is pretty cringe. If you don't want to argue then don't, but don't try to get one swing in and then run.
I conceded the point about zoomers playing it, and I didn't say anything else because you didn't respond to anything else I said, m8.

>current year
Yes.
>You can't criticise things after x amount of time.
>nooo you can't talk about a pokémon game on the pokémon board!
>noooo there is an expiration date for bad things being bad
Humor me. What is the time cutoff when its not ok anymore? 2 weeks?

It still does even after all those years later. What were they thinking?
What a shit load of FRICK!
If HGSS had elements of Crystal, even though is "only" a Gold and Silver remake, then why should ORAS not have Emerald influences?
Making game very difficult please understand *laughs*
You ask too many questions
go to the gulag
whenever you point this out to ORAS gays they lose their mind
HGSS is not just gold and silver remake, it's a butchering of the johto region as a whole
quite different innit
Explain.
How so?
bait
And you keep falling for it
Players get frustrated easily nowadays, please understand *raughs*

>female character
She wasn't in GS, though. So by ORASgay logic, neither Lyra nor Kris should be in HGSS.

>HGSS ARE CRYSTAL REMAKES
HOLY COPES OF COPES, Orasgays truly grasping

Two can play at this game.
>These modern Pokémon games and apps suck, so I'll stay back in the DS!
the shill objective: "cheaper game better"

I am literally a zoomer.
They can't keep getting away with it
